Carmen, Gilbert, Elizabeta and Arthur were playing Jenga on the floor when the doorbell rang.

"Alright, I'll get it!" Elizabeta proclaimed, as she got up and ran to the door. "Hey boys, come on in! You must be Alfred. Wow, you're a cutie!"

Carmen ignored the exchange as she focused on pulling a block out of the side of the tower. Deep breaths Cammy, you are a sore loser, you need to survive this round or the rest are going to rub it in your face. She calmed herself, and slowly exhaled.

"Wew! That was a tough one. Beat that, bitch!" She challenged Gilbert, and stood up to stretch her legs.

Oh my god, is that her? She looks like a supermodel. Alfred's jaw dropped.

As Carmen turned to face him, her olive-green eyes met his bright blue ones.

"Alfie? Is that you?"

Still stunned, Alfred managed a pathetic nod, and Carmen ran over to hug him.

"It's so great to finally meet you in the flesh! I have so many things to discuss with you. Where should we build the underwater city? I found a heart of the sea the other day and I forgot to tell you."

She chattered on excitedly, while Arthur watched the two from afar. Huh. I didn't know they were THAT close. He glared on, unwilling to continue the game with Gilbert. Whatever, time to end this.

"Babe, come over here and help me with this for a second." Arthur commanded.

"Right now? Okay sure. Gimme a second Alfie I'll be right back." Carmen walked over to Arthur and followed him out into the backyard.

Shit. Babe? So she has a boyfriend? That really fucking sucks. Oh well. Arthur decided to drown his disappointment with a shot of tequila and headed to the kitchen.

The rest of the party went on as any other party would, with the guests continuing to drink, play games and eventually, end up lying down on any surface comfortable enough. Gil and Elizabeta were huddled up on a sofa chair, Matty and Arthur were on the floor next to them, and Alfred was beside the ottoman watching Carmen nap on the loveseat.

I wonder if I'll ever see her after this party. Alfred yawned as he thought to himself, and promptly fell asleep.
