Chapter 2 - Mekadon

"Yes, it's Lila." Marinette said softly. She wiped her eyes, willing away the tears that were threatening to fall.

"Why do you let her get to you Marinette?" He asked her. "Adrien, she-you don't know the half of it." The girl responded, biting the inside of her cheek.

"I would know if you told me."

Marinette drew in a breath, her face getting warm. She smiled. "Okay. I'll tell you. But first, tell me what you're doing out here?" Marinette looked up, meeting his green gaze.

"I'm supposed to be at the nurse, don't tell anyone!" He said, winking at Marinette.

Adrien sighed dejectedly. Lila was back, and boy did he hate it. She strutted around the school like she owned the place.

"I hope there's an akuma today. Seeing Ladybug will cheer me up." He muttered, chewing on the end of his pencil. He felt Plagg rolling around in his bag, and Adrien smiled. The kwami might be annoying, but he knew how to make Adrien laugh.

"Adrien are you feeling well? I've been calling your name for a while. Go to the nurse." The teacher interrupted. "Thank you, Mr. Devaux." Adrien said with a smile. He got his bag and packed up, walking out the door.

"Thank GOD. I don't know how much longer I could stand his boring lecture voice." Plagg mused, peeking out of Adriens bag. "Yeah yeah. His class is not the highlight of my day." He responded, walking down the hallway.

"Marinette? Is everything okay?" Adrien asked, sitting next to her. She looked up quickly. "Yeah, e-everything's okay."

Adrien gave her a puzzled look before sitting down next to her. "It's Lila, isn't it?"

"Yes, it's Lila." She said softly. Marinette wiped her eyes, a muted sniffle escaping her mouth.

"Why do you let her get to you Marinette?" Adrien asked. "Adrien, she-you don't know the half of it." She sighed.

"I would know if you told me."

She looked up with me, a smile on her face. "Okay. I'll tell you. But first, tell me what you're doing out here?" Marinette looked up, and they shared a gaze.

"I'm supposed to be at the nurse, don't tell anyone!" He said, winking at her. She giggled.

"I am Mekadon! My power to destroy you is going to be 100% effective!" A neon red beam shot just behind Marinette, and she jumped towards Adrien. The wall started to melt away.

"Get out of here Marinette, go hide! I'm sure Chat Noir will show up soon." Adrien yelled. Marinette nodded, running off.

"Tikki, spots on!" Marinette cried. The red kwami flew into her earrings, transforming her into the infamous superheroine, Ladybug. She bust from her hiding place, using her yo-yo to swing into the open clearing of the school.

"I am pawsitive that me and milady will win this battle!" She heard Chat Noir exclaim, and she rushed to the scene. He was in the air, baton at the ready. Ladybug watched as he struck a critical hit on Mekadon, right on his wrist that was about to destroy a group of students. She ran over to them, creating a shield while escorting them out quickly.

"Ladybug! Give me your miraculous!" Mekadon roared, running towards her at top speed. "Never!" She declared, jumping out of the way. A red hot beam melted away the spot she was standing in a moment ago. Ladybug charged at the villain, her yo-yo spinning furiously in her wrist. "Hi-ya!" Ladybug shrieked, flinging her yo-yo at Mekadon. She retracted it, bringing his weapon with it. "What?! Oh you're so going to regret that, you nasty bug!" Mekadon growled, sprinting towards her. Chat Noir leapt towards Ladybug, crashing into her and protectively rolling from the danger with her. Ladybug blushed, pushing him off her quickly.

"Lucky Chaarm!" She called, throwing her yo-yo in the air. A small gem fell into the spotted heroine's hands. "A gem? What in the world am I supposed to do with this?!" Ladybug thought aloud. "Look our Chat!" She cried, jumping infront of her partner and deflecting a beam. Ladybug threw a kick at Mekadon, hitting him in his gut. The villain returned with a punch, one that Ladybug easily dodged by somersaulting over him. She scanned the area midair, trying to find what use the Lucky Charm for. Several things lit up, and Ladybug landed, ducking low to avoid a roundhouse kick. Ladybug tossed her yo-yo, grabbing the items she needed, which were a mirror, some tape, and a string.

"Cover me Chat!" She yelled, securing the yo-yo on her waist while creating a tool to defeat Mekadon with. Ladybug stretched some tape, attaching the mirror onto a pole. "Get him infront of the mirror!" Ladybug said, jumping infront of the villain. She threw the gem in his eyes, causing him to frantically shoot. A beam hit the mirror and it bounced back, destroying the villain partially. They had to hurry. "Chat, cataclysm the headgear! Quickly!" Ladybug exclaimed. Chat called his cataclysm, destroying the headgear like he asked. "Yes! No more evil-doing for you little akuma. Time to de-evilise!" Ladybug called, catching the akuma in her yo-yo. "Gotcha! Byebye little butterfly." She released it, tossing the gem in the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!"

"Pound it."

Ladybug smiled at Chat. "I have to go. I'll see you soon my kitty." She said, flinging her yo-yo onto a pole. "Wait!" Chat grabbed her wrist before she took off.

"Ladybug I-I love you."

"Chat...I can't-we can't." She said, swinging away to detransform.
