When the two had gotten to Diagon Alley, Hinata was instantly amazed at how crowded the streets were. Everywhere he looked there were people chattering away among themselves, he loved it!
It felt oddly comfortable to Hinata, he felt more at home surrounded by the collection of unique wizards and witches than he was at home with his 'family'. That probably wasn't a very good thing.
"So you've never heard of Hogwarts," Takeda stated with a long sigh, Hinata could only shake his head. "You're parents use to be wizards," The mans eyes resembled pools of nostalgia, "They were the best of their time."
This made Hinata proud, his new dream to be the best wizard of his age suddenly felt like more of a requirement than a goal, he was going to live up to his parents reputation.
Takeda shook his head and started to apologise. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have brought that up, it's a sensitive subject and—,"
Hinata's reassuring smile stopped Takeda's rambling.
"It's okay, really!" The truth was that he didn't really care how his blood-family died. It was never a sensitive subject for him to begin with, he wasn't old enough when they died to truly know them anyway: they were practically strangers to him. "We have our super cool wizard shopping to do anyway!"
Takeda laughed, and pulled the creased supply list from his pocket, "So, first, we need to get you your uniform," Hinata nodded, "We should go to Tattings to get your robes."
The two wavered through the crowd, Shouyou became suddenly glued to every shop window they past, clearly amazed at the displays inside.
Once they reached Tattings, Hinata realised how cramped the shop was on the inside: with it being the start of the school year Takeda should have realised how crowded it would've been beforehand. After waiting for a while a small, frail women called for Shouyou to get his robes fitted. While he was getting his measurements, Takeda patiently waited outside.
Inside of the fitting room Hinata was being prodded and poked. The aged women seemed generally nice towards him and they had engaged in some amusing small-talk before she let Hinata out of the fitting room.
Pulling the curtain open, Shouyou hadn't even thought about how busy the shop was earlier, resulting in him colliding with the chest of a fellow customer.
"Watch it dumb ass." The victim of Hinata's unwanted chest bump growled.
"It was an accident."
The dark haired boy just rolled his eyes and left Hinata on the floor of the shop. Idiot.
The red-haired boy simply dusted himself off and went to find Takeda, choosing to ignore the boys insolence.
"Over here!" Takeda waved. Hinata made his way towards him, being careful not to run into any inconsiderate bastards with anger issues this time. "We have to wait a couple of minutes for your robes to be finished." Hinata smiled.
Takeda was stood in front of a window display: containing 4 different robes, each featuring a different colour. "What do the colours mean?" He asked gesturing towards the display.
"Oh, right!" Takeda clapped his hands and started to explain, "Each colour represents one of the houses you might get sorted into.
Red is for Gryffindor, they're known for being the bravest of the houses. Next is Ravenclaw, they're the blue ones, they're generally most interested in academics and learning," Hinata looked at the man in interest as he explained.
"The green is for Slytherin, the most cunning and ambitious. And the yellow is for hufflepuff, they're, like, the friendly ones, I guess."
Tadeka stopped talking in time for the counter bell to ding and alert them that Hinata's robes were ready for collection.
They swiftly left the establishment and Tadeka looked at his list again, "We should go and get your wand next, to Ollivanders!" Hinata grinned and rushed back into the busy streets, Tadeka not far behind him.
The crowd was certainly different to what Hinata has seen before. Each person wore rather peculiar outfits: whether it be simply a feather hat added to the otherwise normal look, or simply an odd array of colours, they didn't dress like Hinata had always done.
Finally they spotted Ollivanders, Hinata started to play with his hands anxious to go inside. On the way through the alley Takeda warmed him about how impatient and ill-tempered the owner could be.
"Now you hurry inside," Takeda gave him a harmless push towards the door, "I've got to run some errands, meet me at Flourish and Blots,"
Hinata gave him a thumbs up, despite having absolutely no clue where that was, he could just ask someone when he was finished getting his wand. He was hurried inside and his eyes widened at how eery the shop felt. The only sound that made itself present was the hesitant footsteps of the boy echoing against the bookshelves, neatly arranged with long, thin boxes with unique symbols decorated on the visible sides of each one. Hinata's eyes couldn't focus on one box for too long as soon after he looked at one his eyes would get distracted and lead him towards another. Before he knew it he was simply pacing the shop, not really looking for anything, yet he was looking at everything.
The young boy had been in the shop for much longer than he had expected prior to an old croaky barking sound from the far corner of the intricate room.
"Your a muggle-born aren't ya, young lad," The cough has broken out of a rather hunched man, the man walked over to the counter of the shop: Hinata noticed the man moving with a noticeable limp, he probably fought in some cool wizard battle!
"What's a muggle born? Sir," The old man raised his eyebrows.
"That answers my question, then" he released a long regal sigh, "A muggle is somebody born without magic,"
"But I'm a wizard? Right?"
The man arranged the towering shelves as they talked, "No. You're not a wizard, yet." He stepped down from his ladder, "Right now you nothing but a worthless rat, dependant one others."
Shouyou held his breath as he talked, feeling the muskiness of the mans words making his face feel clammy and wet.
"I'm sorry sir. I just really want to be amazing wizard! Maybe I can't do it—"
The man straightened his back again and held out his hand.
"I can tell your ambitious young man," Hinata's eyes widened at the change of tone, "You're bound to be a great wizard, I can tell."
The red-head shook the workers hand to find that he was in fact smiling at him: nothing could top the combination of inspiration, relief and willpower building up inside of Hinata.
"But to be a great wizard..." Shouyou looked up at the aged man "First, you need a great wand."
He nodded in agreement, his eyes turning back to the shelves.
"Just by looking at you I can tell you should probably have a Phoenix feather core, they're capable of performing the greatest magic: which suits you if you wanna be a great wizard 'n all,"
He passed one of the boxes to Hinata, "Try this one,"
Hinata just held the box, not sure what to do with it. He decided the best option was to open it and try his hardest not to engage the shop owners lack of emotional stability.
Shouyou brushed his finger down the wand, noticing the lack of blemishes or imperfections. It looked so perfectly crafted, the end however looked as though it was just straight wood, but the two contrasted well. He just had to check if it worked. If he knew how.
Kindly, the man told him to simply give the wand a 'swish' and try to destroy as little as possible. Hinata did so, however the wand didn't seem natural in his hands. Nothing happened.
"Let's try another."
The next wand handed to him had the same smooth exterior, however the colour scheme was different. The wand handle looked more polished than the last one, he could see himself reflected in the shine: the wand handle was an inky black while the rest looked to be a bittersweet apricot. It was sure appealing to look at. He gave it a swish and waited for some sort of reaction.
Behind Hinata an aggressive bell started to ding, he snapped his head around to find the doorbell engaged in constant rattling against the entrance of the shop. He did that! He didn't even move, but the bell did! He made a bell move! Awesome! Both of occupants of the establishment waited for the effects to settle-down.
"That's a winner!" The man chuckled. "Do you have any methods of pay?" Hinata's brain lagged for a minute, Takeda had left with all of their money – and Hinata didn't know where he was running his errands.
As if on cue Takeda opened the door. "Have you found anything yet—?" He smiled at the man behind the counter. "How are you, Fuki?"
The old man who now had a name stared in confusion, he had no clue who the weirdo who just entered his shop was.
"It's me... Takeda," Takeda raised his eyebrows, "I was your sons friend? When he went to Hogwarts?" Takeda looked ahead with mild annoyance
"You're the weird glasses kid!"
"Yup. Just the weird glasses kid."
Hinata didn't know whether to laugh at the two men or to find some authority to split them up before they started quarrelling. "We found a cool wand!"
Takeda checked his watch, "Great! That sure was fast, huh," Shouyou chuckled.
"Now for you method of pay?..." Fuki prompted, his hands itching for his well earned money.
"Oh, right," The raven haired man pulled ten galleons from inside of his coat pocket, passing them to the Fuki. But the greedy man snatched them from Takedas hand as soon as they were in eye view.
Hinata watched as the ravenous man counted the coins. "Uh, Thank you!" Takeda pulled Hinata out of the shop back into the hectic alley: almost forgetting the wand they had gone in for.

"We need to get you your books now," Takeda and Hinata were outside of the bookshop, reading from the supply list. Hinata noticed words he didn't quite understand, such as: Transfiguration, The dark forces, magical drafts?
"I'll find most of them, but can you find A History Of Magic, Magical Theory and Fantastic Beasts and where to find them?"
Takeda gave Hinata no time to reply as he navigated his way through the school rush crowd, ushering Shouyou in. Hinata hated bookstores: it was something about how everyone there usually thought they had some sort of authority over everybody else. Sure, sometimes they were generally nice people, but Shouyou still didn't find the atmosphere as preferable as the population of lawful book worms would have otherwise done.
After a what, to Hinata, seemed like a long time in the shop, he admitted he had not the slightest clue where any of his list of books would be located.
"Excuse me?" He tapped into the back of the nearest person to him. The boy turned around and Hinata recognised his face instantly, it was the same grumpy guy from earlier!
"Sorry," 'Grumpy guy' moved to the side, assuming he was in Shouyou's way.
"Oh, no, it's not that," 'Grumpy guy' turned around and took a good, long look at Shouyou's face.
"Then what do you want, clumsy little shi—,"
"Can you help me find these books?" Hinata shoved the list into the raven haired boys face, "I'm sorry about earlier by the way, my names Hinata!"
The boy glared blankly at the red-head, silently judging him.
Deciding he obviously couldn't pick up on the negative vibes he was trying so desperately to send him, he instead read the list being poked in his face.
"For the first one, you need to go to the back shelves. For the second, it's probably by the window and I have no clue on the last one."
"Thanks! What's your name?"
"Kageyama." Newly identified Kageyama tried
to walk away. He didn't want to be seen with such a little brat.
"Can you come help me pick them out, please?"
Ugh. Kageyama really didn't have the time, yet he had a sneaking suspicion that simply helping Hinata would probably let him leave faster, so he obliged and lead the way to the books. Hinata got on his tail.

With Kageyama's help Shouyou found his books in record time. Whilst looking for the books Kageyama has found out that he had in fact been given the same list as Hinata: so they got their books together.
"So, your a first year too?" Hinata nodded
"What house do you wanna be in?" He thought back to what Takeda had been telling him earlier.
"The red one sure sounds cool,"
"You mean Gryffindor?"
"Yeah, that one!"
Hinata noticed Kageyama being distracted, and took this as an opportunity to leave.
"Bye!"
"See you later this year, idiot!"
The red-head smirked, he was suddenly much more ecstatic for the following year of his education.
