Prophecies are what you make them

A prophecy is made and a path is chosen but what happens when nothing is what it seems. A Squib a few magical folks and 4 magical children set out to prove that the world is not as black and white and the leader of the light claims it to be. Follow the journey to find out that lies and rash decisions will always come back to haunt you even when you think your tracks are covered.

Chapter 2 The Prophecy

December 23rd 1979

Tom was sat in the Hogs Head under a disguise waiting on his good friend Lucius. He may be 42 while Lucius was only 25 but in the last few years they had grown quite close. For the past 20 years he along with his wife, Imogen, have been putting their mark on the wizarding world. They were trying to make the world a safer place and had unfortunately been villainized in the whole procedure. Not that it had made much difference how people saw him, he was only interested in his final goal. Ensure the wizarding world remains safe for the wizarding community. However the last few years he had stepped back a little and allowed others to be the image of his group as Imogen fell pregnant and he wanted to be a full and present father. They had a beautiful baby girl who was currently 3 months old but both he and Imogen agreed it was time he stepped back to business. This was currently not going well as the group had become erratic and had started to kill muggles and muggle borns which had resulted in Tom being labeled as a Dark wizard and someone had given him this silly name of Lord Voldemort with his followers being called Death Eaters. There were some who had taken offence to that name and it resulted in torturing a few wizards to find out where this all started.

Lucius arrived a few minutes late and apologized right away "So sorry Tom, I was at the hospital with Cissy." Tom looked up hoping it wasn't bad news but he saw that Lucius was smiling and he relaxed a little "No worries Lucius, I hope all is well?" Lucius sat a little straighter, prouder and said "we did it, we're finally pregnant with a viable pregnancy" Tom broke out into a big grin and asked the barmaid to send over two fire whiskeys. He held his up and said "To the future scion Malfoy" They clinked glasses and got to talking about what to do now that they were gaining a lot of negative press. Lucius finally decided to rip off the Band-Aid that he had been trying to avoid telling Tom about. "It would seem Tom, that Dumbledore is behind all the negativity. He is the one who threw the Voldemort name out there, and is claiming that you are ashamed of your blood status and are trying to forget about your muggle life" Tom downed the last of his glass "of course its him, I really don't understand why that man hates me so much I was a model student. Any way for now lets cease activity enjoy Christmas and start afresh in January"

January 24th 1980

After a quiet and enjoyable first Christmas with his daughter and wife Tom was ready to get the ball rolling and try to offset the negativity he had been gaining. He was currently sat in the Hogs Head with Lucius and Severus Snape, a new follower of his who wanted to help the cause and prove that half-bloods and muggle borns could be a boon to the wizarding world if we allowed it. Tom looked at the eager 20 year old and said "Severus, please. Contrary to what you may have heard I am not aiming to rid the world of anyone who is magical. I would just like to make it safer for us to be out in the world." Severus looked a little shocked by this and apologized. He explained his best friend was a muggle born and was the brightest witch of her years at school. Tom looked at him and said "I am impressed, normally a muggle born can fall behind, this is why I want to make things better by testing magical ability and helping those who need additional help with classes and tutor. I hate to see families cast out squibs or muggle borns neglected for not knowing their way in the world." Severus visibly relaxed at this and they decided to finish their meals and be on their way home to their families.

After the meal the door to the pub opened and Tom felt a disillusionment charm cover his person. He looked at Lucius who mouthed Dumbledore. They sat waiting as Dumbledore and the school professors took the booth next to them. They were discussing the lack of action from the 'Deatheaters' recently. they heard someone say "maybe he's not really trying to kill everyone" he couldn't place the voice, but it may have been someone Lucius or Severus knew. "Of course he is, Frank! this is clearly just a distraction for something big!" Tom could hear the distain in Dumbledore's voice as he said this and he shook his head, would that man ever let this go. All of a sudden the woman at the end went rigid and spoke in an eerie tone "The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord approaches, born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the 7th month dies and the dark lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the dark lord knows not and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives the one with the power to vanquish the dark lord will be born as the 7thmonth dies" everyone sat there shocked for a moment while Dumbledore ushered everyone away from the table and back to the school.

Tom, Lucius and Severus sat there when Tom started to chuckle "since I'm technically not evil, I assume that was not for me" he noticed Severus was looking a little pale "Lily, oh god Lily" both Tom and Lucius looked at him for an explanation he swallowed hard "well if Dumbledore is the one spearheading all this hate, and he's the one calling you dark, he could be covering his own agenda but Lily told me yesterday that she had refused to join his 'order' for the 3rd time, and she's pregnant! She is due the 4th August. what if it's her!"Lucius recovered first and stood. "right, lets get moving, Sev bring Lily to the manor one day next week, if she will allow it, bring her husband too. We will see what we can find out and look at our options. Cissa is fantastic at researching and will endeavor to help as much as she can.

February 1st 1980

The silence in the parlor room was awkward. There was the Malfoys, Narcissa nearly 20 weeks pregnant and starting to show, the Potters Lily only 13 weeks pregnant and looking at Narcissa like she wanted to ask a million questions while James Potter and Severus glared at each other. Lucius cleared his throat and said "lets just get to business shall we? I'm aware that Severus has explained what he can and I'd just like to let you know what we have found" He pulled out a folder and spread some paper work out on the table "it looks like you are not the only couple to refuse Dumbledore, there is a couple by the name of Longbottom who are also expecting and have refused. We have a couple of options to keep you safe if you wish to hear them?" He looked towards the couple who looked confused but nodded "first off, we can hide you. We have the resources to keep you well-hidden until you decide otherwise but this would mean moving away and potentially not sending your child to Hogwarts. OR our second option, which we prefer personally. Tom has offered to shield you from any threats that come to you or your children and publicly make you a member of his company." James looked up sharply and said "how do you know it means us, what about the Longbottom's. How do we trust you, I don't want to be a 'Deatheater' as they call you" Lucius explained that the same protection would be offered to the Longbottom's and after a long discussion the Potters decided that they would like to be protected by Tom, but only if it becomes clear someone is after their child.
