Author's Note: I have no clue on how to write fight scenes. I might have missed some information, or I might just have flat out written it terribly. But like I said I wanted to make this more of a serious story so I tried. Hopefully, you guys will enjoy this chapter still!
The villain laughed as Izuku was frozen in place. "Do you remember me, Deku? I'm sorry for the silent introduction the first time we fought, but I don't usually talk to strangers upon meeting them for the very first time."
Izuku remembered it all. They were fighting in an alleyway. The villain's name was Overlord. It was all coming back to him.
"You said you were going to apprehend me the last time we were fighting, right? Well not if I kill you first." An evil smile crossed Overlord's features. "Ah, and what was that last question you asked me before you blacked out? "Why are you doing this?" Is that the question you asked?"
Izuku grit his teeth, that was one of the questions he asked, but Overlord gave him no answers. Now he was here all alone once again to take on this crazy strong villain. Nejire is busy leading the civilians to safety so she can't help him at the moment. And something tells him Overlord is just toying with him, all the way back to the alleyway fight too.
"Let me tell you why in a lengthy monologue like every villain does... Ever since I heard about the rumors of All For One when I was younger, it struck me with awe. He was essentially my god. Yet, I didn't think he was a real person so when I saw him on the news, it surprised me. The one thing that struck me odd was what All For One said, it was something along the lines of All Might choosing you as his successor. All Might came out as the victor and that filled me with rage, but what good would it do killing a retired number one hero? I might as well go for his disciple. And here I am, but it looks like I didn't strike you down hard enough the first time around. I'll put the nail in the coffin this time." Overlord seemingly teleported next to Izuku.
He was fast, too fast. Izuku felt pain leak out from his stomach area as he was launched across the city and into a building.
"You have the same quirk as me, Deku. Don't you realize it? Except the one big difference is I have the upper hand with every single punch, and these rings, they increase the fun and spillage of blood." Overlord jumped next to Izuku and raised him up by the collar close to his face. "Since you have so many questions, would you also like to know what my quirk is?"
Izuku tried to wrench Overlord's grip away from him, but it was ridiculously strong.
"I named it Battery because I can store a percentage of power in my body every time I get hit just like how a battery stores power. And yes, it also works when I hit myself. What am I saying? I'm saying you're just an inferior version of me!"
Izuku stopped struggling against his grip as he heard those words. Memories of the time he fought Muscular filled his mind. Muscular said those exact same words to him during the time he had to protect Kota. Both of them also have the same quirks, quirks that buffed them into having unimaginable strength.
Overlord grabbed Izuku's head with his hands and smashed him against the wall. "You heroes always act like you're in the right when in fact we bad guys feel like we are in the right too. To me, All For One was my hero. And now I have an obligation to take everything away from All Might, which happens to be you."
Izuku's breath quickened, Overlord wasn't lying, the intense murderous aura pressed down on Izuku. This time there was no one to protect but himself, the hunt wasn't about other people, it was all directed towards him.
"Why are you so quiet all of a sudden? You were asking so many questions the last time we met. Could it be the great hero Deku is scared? Someone All Might entrusted to succeed?" Overlord finished the sentence just as Izuku used One For All: Full Cowl - 60% to break free from his grasp and twist his body around to kick Overlord away.
"Retaliating are we? It still seems you aren't using all of your power. I can tell you're holding back, but you'll be dead if you don't use it all right now!" Overlord swung his fist back and time slowed down as it streaked towards Izuku's face.
The golden ring grazed Izuku's face as he barely dodged the fist in time. If Nejire can come back in time to help him with her wave motion quirk, he could take him down and protect the city more efficiently.
No, she's not coming back. Or rather, she shouldn't come back. This place is way too dangerous for anyone to be staying here. He's going to have to take him down on his own.
The more he analyzes Overlord, the more time he wastes and the more damage he does. He's going to have to subdue him with brute strength.
"H-Hero... Sa-Save me... everything hurts... P-Please... Take me to t-the hospital, hero..."
A quick glance behind showed a civilian's lower-half of their body being crushed underneath a building. Izuku grit his teeth upon realizing what his position was. Overlord must have seen the civilian trapped beneath the rubble and decided to use it to his advantage. Now Izuku had to protect the civilian, just like All Might had to when he was fighting All For One for the last time. And just like how All Might gave everything he had to stop All For One, Izuku was going to do the same thing.
"It's... It's fine, you're going to be safe. Rest easy, I'll take you to the hospital." Izuku could hear himself speak, but it felt distant.
"T-Thank you... Hero..." The civilian laid his head down on the ground and stopped moving.
"It's hard being a hero, isn't it? Having to save everyone, making sure they don't get hurt while all we villains have to do is obey one law: To destroy everything! Now let me show you a fraction of the power I saved up over the years! And one request, hero... Speak to me. It's no fun when I can't hear you get scared or scream in pain!" Overlord was upon Izuku in a second. Blue electricity zipped across the arm he was using to hit Izuku with. "WHY ARE YOU SO SILENT, ALL MIGHT'S SUCCESSOR?!"
Izuku barely had time to hold up his arms to block the incoming attack. It happened all too fast. Overlord was seriously on a different level from what Izuku had observed so far, in both speed and power.
"Gah!" A huge explosion of debris and wind swept the area they were fighting in.
Pain strangled Izuku's body, feeding him thoughts about giving up, but that's not what he promised All Might. The promise was to show the world he was here.
Spots danced across Izuku's vision as he struggled to focus on what was in front of him. Izuku coughed onto his white gloves and found splotches of red blood litter his hand. Recovery Girl or Eri could heal him, right now he had to focus on the villain.
Overlord's eyes widened in surprise as he saw Izuku still standing. "Incredible... You really are powerful... No wonder All Might chose you as his successor." A wide grin spread across Overlord's face as he looked down at Izuku's torso. Overlord lifted both his arms and began to push Izuku down to the ground with his strength. "You saved the civilian, but look at all that blood you're coughing out of your mouth. You look unsightly, hero. Is that what it means to be a hero? Sacrificing everything just to save someone you don't know? What if it's a criminal?"
Sharp pain pierced through Izuku's chest area. He looked down to see where Overlord was looking and found sharp pieces of rock embedded into his torso. Overlord said there was blood dripping down his mouth. The debris must have hit his lungs and now little drips of blood were filling it up, which was making him cough up blood.
But what Overlord said, Izuku can't let it slip past him. "It doesn't matter if they are criminals or not! Heroes put everything on the line to save someone no matter who it is! It's to show the world there's no need to fear anything because I AM HERE!"
"Gring Wave!" Yellow waves of energy hit Overlord in the back, but he stayed still, absorbing all the damage from one of the Big Three like it was nothing. This didn't seem to affect Nejire at all as she came down from the sky with a menacing face and fired off a few more energy waves. "Izuku!" She had a worried look on her face.
"Don't get close, Nejire!" Izuku yelled as he tried to increase his percent usage of One For All to push Overlord away from himself.
"Such ridiculously weak attacks." Overlord lightly kicked Izuku away from himself and turned around to face Nejire. He squatted on the ground with the intention to jump towards her.
This was Izuku's chance to take him down while he was distracted, but something seemed off. Overlord seemed to be dropping his guard on purpose. Whatever he was planning, Izuku wasn't going to waste a good chance to take him down. "One For All, 100%! DETROIT SMASH!" Izuku's right arm lunged forward and plowed into Overlord's face, smashing him towards the ground.
A storm of dust and rubble covered Izuku's vision. One good hit to Overlord should be enough to subdue him without killing him.
The smoke dissipated throughout the air and revealed Overlord knocked out on the ground, laying in a feeble position. Now the rest of the pro heroes and the police should show up to help clean up the mess they created.
Izuku dropped down on the ground and laid there breathing heavily. His chest rising and falling with the rhythm of his heartbeat.
Nejire gently floated down on the ground next to Izuku. "Izuku, you're hurt..." She sighed. "Why did he have to ruin a good day..."
Izuku couldn't concentrate, but saving the civilian was his number one priority on his mind. He promised he was going to take the civilian to the hospital and there was no way he was going to back out on that.
"Hey, Nejire... Let's go save the civilian..." Izuku coughed out. How did All Might do this? He made it seem so easy, but beating a strong villain and saving civilians was easier said than done.
Nejire helped Izuku up from the ground by putting herself underneath his arm as a support. Together they walked over to the civilian.
She squeezed his hands and gazed into Izuku's eyes. "You did great today, Izuku! We'll be right at a hospital soon enough, just hold on for a few minutes..." She bent down to check the civilian's pulse.
"Seems like he's knocked out from pain and shock... Here, lift up the building, Izuku."
He channeled the power of One For All through his body and gently lifted the building up enough for Nejire to help the civilian out of the rubble.
"I got him. You can put the building down now." Nejire had the civilian in her arms.
Izuku nodded and let the building down, making sure no dust escaped from underneath the building. Izuku noticed something odd about the person they had just saved. There was black slime mixed with the blood. But he didn't have time to concentrate on that, the civilian was hurt. Whatever the slime was, it must be from a quirk.
"Izuku, I'll take the civilian to a nearby hospital while you go visit Recovery Girl since Eri is at school right now. Good luck!" Nejire was about to take off in the air when a huge crash redirected both heroes' attention to the noise.
Overlord was standing in the crater staring at both Izuku and Nejire with a barbaric smile. "That wasn't bad at all, successor of All Might, not bad at all. I dare say, you almost blacked me out back there. But I told you already, didn't I? That I'm only using a fraction of my powers?" Overlord took the golden rings off of his fingers and threw them on the ground. From both sides of his pockets, he pulled out golden brass knuckles. "And let's not forget about my quirk: the longer the fight drags on, the stronger I get!"
Izuku braced himself for impact as Overlord headed straight towards them. Izuku should have known that such a strong opponent would endure 100% of One For All. Brings him back to the time when he and Kacchan were fighting All Might for their final exam and Kacchan said he was stupid for thinking he could beat All Might without taking any risks.
Suddenly, at the last second Overlord switched directions to Nejire. Time seemed to slow down, Nejire stared at where Overlord used to be, he was too fast for Nejire to see. Overlord was aiming for Nejire because she was technically weaker. He had to protect her. One For All: Full Cowl - 100%!
Izuku managed to grab Nejire and the civilian just in time as he jumped into the air. Overlord's fist smashed into the ground, huge cracks ran across the ground as it spread throughout the surface of the streets and buildings like spiderwebs.
Izuku winced. That was on a whole other level than before. There's no doubt about it. He really was using only a fraction of his powers.
A few pro heroes arrived onto the scene at that exact moment. This was bad, they probably stood no chance against Overlord. First, he needed Nejire and the civilian to stay far away from here. If they keep getting in his way, everything will go downhill from there.
While Overlord was distracted, Nejire took the chance to snap Izuku out of his thoughts. "Izuku! Wake up, silly! We have a city to save! If you're hurting badly, I can take care of the villain!"
Izuku shook his head, he was a monster compared to her. He was the only one at the scene that could take him on. "Nejire, since you can fly, you should help this injured person get to the hospital as quickly as possible. I'll take care of Overlord."
Nejire gave him a concerned look but listened to his directions. "Okay, Izuku... Make it out alive."
"Go then, I'll be alright falling down since I need to grab Overlord's attention." Izuku watched as Nejire let go of him and went away with the civilian. "Time to stop his rampage..."
Izuku fell towards the ground and made a deafening crash, alerting Overlord to his position. "Overlord! Leave them alone and fight me instead!"
Overlord turned around as he held unconscious bodies of other pro heroes in his hands. "Blah, blah, blah... Heroic noises are the most annoying thing to my ears... It was fun while this fight lasted, but it's time to finish the job All For One had always wanted to carry out." Overlord squatted down on the ground and blue electricity appeared over his body. He disappeared in a flash and appeared right in front of Izuku with his fist pulled back. "GO TO HELL, SUCCESSOR OF ALL MIGHT!"
"ONE FOR ALL, 100%! DETROIT SMASH!"
Overlord quickly took the upper hand as he slowly pushed Izuku to the ground. "SO... WEAK... IS THIS REALLY ALL YOU'VE GOT, SUCCESSOR OF ALL MIGHT!?" The ground beneath Izuku split and cracked. The sheer power of Overlord was staggering.
"It's fine... Everything's going to be fine!" Pain crawled up and down Izuku's arm as Overlord pushed him inside of the crater.
"WHAT DID I SAY FROM THE BEGINNING? THAT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO APPREHEND ME IF YOU DIE! ALL MIGHT'S LINE ENDS HERE!" Blue electricity fizzled and crackled out of Overlord's body as he exerted all the power he's been saving up.
"SHUT... UP! AS IF... I'D EVER LET YOU END ALL MIGHT'S LEGACY!"
"OUTPUT 100%!" Overlord body became a blinding light of electricity. But it wouldn't matter, if he let Izuku's fist through, it would be all over for him. All Izuku had to do was push against him with everything he had.
"ONE FOR ALL, 1,000,000%! DELAWARE... DETROIT... SMASH!"
Overlord stared at Izuku in awe as Izuku slowly pushed him away. "No way... Where were you hiding this much power? You... You truly deserve to succeed All Might unlike me... Sorry, All For One..."
The next few moments whizzed by for Izuku. He remembered hitting Overlord into the ground caring the already big enough crater to grow even further and winning the fight. He remembered a few pro heroes rushing onto the scene to help him and then he found himself being carried by a stretcher inside of an ambulance. Then everything turned pitch black.
