Hey guys! I'm back! And I have another chapter for you! Enjoy!
Obsessed: Okay! Let's see if anyone else wants Sophitz. Otherwise its going to be Team Foster-Keefe
Thank you so much for BookLover3212019 for following my story! It means the world to me!
Isabelle could feel her body's particles break down and it would have all spread out if not for the bubble that was holding her together. Then suddenly, her whole body formed again and before her eyes, The little alley disappeared and a gate with a huge glittering mansion behind it replaced it.
"Welcome to my home, Everglen." Biana said.
"Oh my gosh! We're so rude! What are your names?" Sophie exclaimed.
"I'm Katie, and that's Isabelle." Katie gestured to her twin sister.
Biana licked the sensor on the gate.
"A DNA sensor." Sophie explained.
"Ew. Why would you lick it? Isn't that so unhygienic?" Katie said. She had always been the one of the twins to say what was on her mind.
"Yeah. That's what I thought when I came here, but no one has every gotten sick from it, and we use it for a lot of things. Now let's go inside, we should have you guys meet the rest of the Vackers, the rest of the Collective, and the Council. And also our friends." Sophie said. So they walked towards the mansion, but Isabelle had two question.
"Hey Sophie? I have two questions." Isabelle told Sophie.
"Shoot."
"Okay, so the first one is how do we know that we can trust you? And the second is our parents aren't going to let us just come here every day, so what's going to happen?" She asked.
"So for the first one, you know you can trust me because this," Sophie gestured around her. "Is where you belong, and we're showing you it. And for the second one, we'll have a chat about that later." Isabelle wasn't sure if she liked the way that sounded, but she still followed Sophie to the sparkling mansion.
Isabelle was a bit startled by how many people- sorry- elves were in the crystal living room. She was also startled by how the mansion screamed wealth in every way.
"Um…. Sophie? Is this wealth normal in this place?" She whispered to Sophie. Sophie smiled. "Believe it or not, but this is normal. My house is the same. But don't worry, I was surprised when I came to the Lost Cities as well." She whispered back. Well, Isabelle wasn't really surprised by the mansion, because her parents were famous people, so she was familiar with being famous and having a mansion. But she liked asking questions so she could observe the situation.
"Hello everyone! Sophie and I just came back from the Forbidden Cities to get these twins, Katie and Isabelle. Mr. Forkle, can you explain to us why they are basically another Project Moonlark?" Biana said.
"All right. So when Sophie was three, we were worried that Project Moonlark would be a fail. Not that it is, but we wanted backup, so we decided to do another project, but this time called Project Boobrie." Mr. Forkle let that sink in before continuing. "And we did not know that Project Boobrie was going to become two people. But we placed them with a famous family, who had money, but we chose the couple because Katie and Isabelle's mother and father have always used the best quality of everything for their children, so the medicine they took was actually medicine that had been given to the humans during the Human Assistance Program. So they were given Elvin medicine which did not damage their bodies."
Katie and Isabelle shared a glance. They were given Elvin medicine the whole time?
"Well, that's really cool and everything, but these youngsters are feeling kinda confused right now." Keefe said, walking up towards the twins. They backed up.
"Who are you?" Isabelle heard herself saying. She tucked her blonde hair behind her ears, a habit she did whenever she was nervous.
"Only the greatest empath alive! Keefe Sencen." He bowed.
"Okay, okay, we got it. I'm Dex." Another boy with strawberry blonde hair and periwinkle eyes came up to them.
"I'm Fitz." A boy with teal eyes walked up as well. He looked like Biana's brother.
A girl with jet black hair and silver tips introduced herself as Linh, and her twin brother Tam.
"Okay, guys, Mr. Forkle and I need to have a talk with them now." Sophie said.
"Let's go." So the twins followed her around this massive house and into a office.
Katie and Isabelle sat in the chair facing the desk, and Mr. Forkle sat in the desk chair. Sophie pulled over a chair that was next to them.
"So, Katie, how are you feeling right now? It's okay to feel nervous or scared. I felt scared when I first came to the Lost Cities. How are you feeling, Isabelle?" Sophie asked them gently.
The truth was Isabelle just wanted to get out of here. She wanted to go back home, and as childish as this seems, she just wanted to snuggle up against her mom and dad. She was frightened and nervous, and she didn't like how it felt like she actually belonged here.
"I'm…. okay." She finally said. Katie murmured the same excuse. But Isabelle knew her sister all too well. She wanted to go home as well.
"Okay, so as I said before, we were going to talk about your second question, Isabelle, and I'm just going to say this. It's not going to be easy." Sophie explained.
"Well, obviously it's not going to be easy going from our house in San Diego to here just to go to school." Katie said, her eyes locking with Sophie's. Sophie's brown ones were full of sadness.
"I know how this is going to feel, and I'm so sorry to tell you this." Sophie paused before continuing, a single tear threatening to drop. "You have to move to the Lost Cities. We can't allow the Elvin race to be at risk because we were born into another world. I'm so so sorry to tell you this, but this is reality. And I'll do everything in my power to help you get through this phase, but it's not going to be easy." Isabelle felt her eyes filling up with tears.
"What?" She whispered. Her family was amazing. She didn't need another one. James was an overprotective brother, but he always treated them like they were his little princesses. Her mom was always there for her, and her dad was always making her laugh when she was sad. They were all she needed.
"Are our parents even our actual parents?" Katie asked. She let her head just hang there when Sophie softly shook her head.
"I'm so sorry guys." Sophie whispered. Isabelle shook her head. She had one more question.
"Will we be able to see them again?" Isabelle's voice cracked in the middle of her sentence. Sophie gave them a soft smile.
"Definitely. That's good, right?"
Isabelle didn't think it was. That was the last time she'd ever see her family again.
Did you like it? I hope you did! I'm already working on the next chapter, so be ready for that maybe tomorrow.
