"What do you guys think about the Prom? This is our last year of middle school." Mike asked.

"It is still two months." Mia said.

"Please don't be sad. You deserve better than me. There are other girls ogling you in the cafeteria, you can choose anyone. But if you still want to go with me than I will go but just as a friend." she said.

"Okay. We will go as friends." he strained a smile. They both rejoined their friends. Whispers were rising.

"What happened?" Fred asked carefully.

"We are going as friends." Mike smiled. "Jay, we are good, right?"

Jay laughed. The tension dissipated with his laugh.

"I am good if M agrees. I don't get to say in it. She is her own person. And you guys are going as just friends so I see no problem."

"Good." Mike said and started eating his lunch followed by others.

"If they are going as friends then we can too." Eli smiled. "Fred would you come to Prom with me?"

"Gladly." he said. Jay was the only one left without a date. Which was noted by the others.

"Seems like your popularity with girls is decreasing. Need help?" Mike joked.

"Bullshit. You wanna see my bro's popularity?" Mia smirked. She stood from her chair. She faced the other people in cafeteria.

"Anyone who wants to go to Prom with Jay raise your hand?" she shouted. Most girls raised their hands in air excitedly. Jay slowly stood.

"Sorry for my sister. She gets hyper sometimes. You can stop raising your hands. I am not looking for a date." he smiled and sat back. He shook his head at her sister's antics smiling internally. Eli and Fred were trying hard not to laugh at Mike's gobsmacked look. Mia gave a high five to Jay.

"I am out of my league." Mike muttered.

"You are coming to Prom, right?" Mia asked Jay.

"Maybe." he said. Mia replaced her chair for Jay's lap. She slung her arms around his neck and did her best puppy eyes.

"Okay, Okay I will come. Now get off." he laughed and she sat back on her chair not before pecking his cheek. The others were laughing at their act.

"I wanted a friend to go with. Only Eli is female friend I have, who seemed interested to go with Fred. Others would have expected kisses or something." he sighed.

"Seems like something is going between them."

"Definitely." he grinned. "I hope Fred doesn't hurt her or I will have a problem with him."

"I don't think Fred will hurt her feelings. He had crush on her for a whole year. It is like a dream come true for him." he nodded and tucked a loose curl behind her ear.

"I will be close. If Mike tries to kiss you or do something inappropriate then he will be dealing with me." he said. Mia just shook her head at her brother's overprotective nature. She loved him for it. There wasn't a single problem of her which wasn't solved by her brother. He was always there for her and she will be always there for him.

"Let's sleep. Prom is still two months away." she sat and removed her yellow t-shirt and denim shorts and flung it on the floor. She was just in her red bra and panty. Jay was staring at her. She smirked.
