Note: This is meant to follow "The Force Awakens", everything in Force Awakens should be considered canon. Additionally, this is written in present tense, there are no novel-only devices like inner thoughts. This is to make it a fair comparison to Disney's movies which have the limitations of a script.
Star Wars 9:
A New Order
Finn sweeps and clean's Luke's home. He wanders into a room with two Force balls embedded into the ground. He picks one up but immediately drops it. He starts to sweep the socket underneath the ball which is noticeably dirty. He tries to pick up the force ball again, and fails. The ball rolls near a table with a vase on it. He tries to pick up the ball again, stumbles and falls into the dresser. The vase then starts to fall and Finn tries to catch it. He touches it but it slips past his fingers and slamming into the ground and shattering. Luke is startled and annoyed by the noise. He walks over to the room to see what's going on. Luke flicks his finger and the force ball rolls back into the socket. He then levitates all the pieces of broken vase and asks Finn "you didn't bring any glue with you did you?" Finn shakes his head, "Eh, I never liked this vase anyway" and Luke levitates the pieces into the trash.
Luke lounges outside bored, until he sees Finn walk near the vine bridge. Luke smiles and asks Finn "Could you get me some water across the bridge covered in vines". Finn sighs but complies. To Luke's astonishment the vines don't use the Force against Finn and he clumsily manages to cross the bridge toward the pool of water. Finn neels down toward the pool and makes a disgusted face and yells back "Uh… I don't think this water is safe to drink" Luke smirks and tells him to follow him. Luke leads Finn to the blossomed plant with vines around it. He explains to Finn how the plant has force powers and will react to anyone trying to grab it to protect itself. He also explains how old the plant is and how it took thousands of years to blossom. Finn replies "sigh… you're going to ask me to get you a petal for your tea or something aren't you. Can't you just get it yourself, I just came here to relax and get away from everything, I don't want to do any of this weird magic training." Luke replies "Well your vacation isn't free so just do what I say" Finn complies. Finn moves his hand toward the plant. The thorns don't move or react to Finn's hand. His fingers manage to touch the plant's petals without getting hurt, but Finn immediately pulls his hand back. Luke asks him why he didn't grab the petal. Finn replies "It's kind of messed up you wanna hurt this plant just for some tea". Luke starts to laugh and eventually manages to say "it took me a long time to figure that one out".
Luke leads Finn down old ruins into a small chamber. With a snap of his fingers suddenly the chamber torches light up. Finn asks "what is this place?" and Luke replies "It's a sacred Jedi library". Finn looks started and immediately tries to walk back up the stairs. Luke yells back "It's just some books! No traps or anything!". Finn sighs and walks back. Finn looks at the books and says "I don't want to be a Jedi though". Luke replies "I know, that's why I just want you to read. One day you'll go back to your friends, or meet new ones, and you can tell them what you read here" Luke takes a book off the shelf and places it in front of Finn on the desk. Finn reads the cover and says in confusion "This book is about lightsabre forms", and Luke replies "Try to memorize everything you can. One day you might run into a Sith Lord and you will have to coach someone on the weaknesses of their techniques". Finn swallows and looks nervous at the thought of meeting a Sith Lord.
Luke continues doing chores until night falls. Luke goes back down into the jedi library to see Finn studying hard. Finn points to something in the book and asks Luke "Could you teach someone this move?" and Luke replies "I refuse to teach even myself that technique. That art requires extreme restraint, it tempts people into becoming addicted to battle. I've only ever heard of one person who managed to master it." Finn replies "Is that person still alive?" and Luke replies "I don't think so..."
Scrolling Star Wars Text:
After the death of General Leia and Supreme Leader Snoke, both the New Republic and the First Order were thrown into disarray. Taking advantage of the chaos Kylo Ren and Rey formed their own organization called the "New Order" taking members from all sides. Over time and many victories their power grew as they have now become the dominant military force in the galaxy.
A battle rages on. Kylo, Rey, and Poe are in "New Order" ships easily defeating the enemies they are facing. Kylo and Rey fly toward a group of 10 ships and use coordinated maneuvers to dispatch them with ease.
Hox, and a mysterious bandaged figure are communicating with each other through hologram. The hooded figure tells them "It's not too late, I can win this battle for you even now." but Hox replies "I'm done following wizards. Your power only ever corrupts you." The hooded figure replies "Then take the army I told you about. You will have no direct influence from me." Hox answers "Never, your army is an affront to nature." and closes the communication.
Rey and Kylo eventually blow open a hanger in the enemy's main vessel. Rey and Kylo board with Poe still flying destroying any ship that gets close. Rey leads the charge with a red lightsaber quickly killing enemy soldiers that get in their way as they head to the command room. There they see General Hox with a few elite guards. Rey leaps at them dispatching them with ease before kicking Hox with the force sending him hard into the wall where he collapses onto the ground. Rey prepares to kill him but Kylo yells "WAIT!". Kylo goes on "Just… take him prisoner..." Rey's lightsaber turns off but she seems angry at Kylo's suggestion "So the First Order keep's their hope alive and attacks us until they break him free? Who's side are you on?" Hox smirks as he looks down, accepting his death. "All you magicians are the same… You think normal people like us are nothing, completely replaceable… Just do it already..." Hox says. Kylo looks at him in sadness and says "I'll take him myself, I'll keep him prisoner no one will have the courage to try to take him from me!". Rey laughs "No one respects you. If they did they we wouldn't have so many people staying with him and the First Order to begin with!" Rey turns her lightsaber back on and prepares to strike Hox. Kylo's saber turns on in reply as he walks between them. Rey makes a dismissive "pff" sound and says "I don't need you. I don't need anyone now" she starts to attack Kylo. The battle is close but Kylo seems to have a slight advantage and begins to push her back. After Kylo deflects Rey's attack enough to make her off balance, she jumps back. But as she jumps Kylo throws her lightsaber at her. She barely manages to block but stumbles onto the ground. Rey gets visibly angry and stands back up. She charges Kylo with a flurry of slashes and ends it with a strong kick to Kylo's side. Kylo stumbles backwards in noticable pain from the kick. Rey continues her assault using her saber to deflect Kylo's attacks as her kicks continue to land, each with an audible amount of Force behind them with bone cracking results. The first hits his leg, the second his arm, and finally the third hits his head sending him a few inches off the ground before he lands. Kylo's body is completely unconscious. His world is dark for an extended period of time before it slowly sees light again as his eyes open. He looks around and finds no trace of Rey. He hobbles to Hox's body and notices a hole in his chest where his heart would be. He holds Hox's body as he gazes outside at the vast graveyard of destruction.
Finn places a bowl of some alien looking soup infront of Luke. Luke takes a bite and makes a pleasant ahhh sound. "The rumors are true! You really were the best cook in the First Order!" says Luke. Finn looks confused and says "How did you-" before being cut off by Luke saying "We're going to have a visitor today, so make sure you cook a little extra". Finn nods and adds more ingredients to the pot he has.
As Finn is doing chores outside. A rundown First Order ship lands onto Luke's island near where Finn is working. Finn starts screaming for Luke as Kylo Ren comes out of the ship hobbling. Luke finds his way to him and outstretches his hand. Kylo looks at him angrily and Luke moves his hand up and down, palm up and says "No gifts for your Uncle?" Kylo attempts to say something but collapses and feints onto the ground. Luke gestures for Finn to come closer. Finn cautiously walks closer to Kylo's body. Luke tells him "do it". "Do what?" Finn replies. "What do you mean do what… You only have talent for one thing, HEAL HIM" Luke shakes his head sighing. Finn kneels down and puts his hands over Kylo. He moves his hands slowly over the body stopping at spots that are damaged. Suddenly Kylo coughs and opens his eyes. Luke smiles at him and says "I'll be adding this medical treatment to your bill".
A First Order trooper walks into Phasma's room where she is looking at a map with ships and battle plans. They tell her "Hox… is dead… what are your orders… General…?" "Do not fret soldier… we have a contingency. Tell the others things are not as bleak as they seem. We have an ally in the Republic, it's time we made use of our trump card." The soldier salutes and leaves. Phasma turns on a communicator to the bandaged figure. The figure asks "Are your volunteers ready?" "Yes, they know now this is our only option. How many do you need?". The figure replies "Nine..."
Kylo wakes up on a bed bandaged up. He walks and eventually finds the kitchen. Finn sees him and gives him a bowl of soup. Kylo takes the bowl and sits down. Finn continues to cook nervously until he musters up the courage to ask "So uh… how'd you get hurt?" Kylo replies "Rey…". Finn seems happy hearing that. After some awkward silence Finn asks "Why did you fight?". Kylo replies "It seems like… I just couldn't commit to what needed to be done..." Luke walks in and says "Hmph you should have doubt at your age." Kylo seems annoyed at Luke's response. "So what, I should grow up to be like you doubting to the point that you do nothing but stay on an island." Luke calmly replies "Yep, honestly politics is very overrated." Kylo dismisses Luke and continues to eat, he looks at Finn in surprise at how good it tastes and Finn smiles back. "So then why did you come here Ben?" asks Luke and Kylo responds staring blankly "I didn't have anywhere else to go...". Kylo continues to sulk until Finn walks up to him and places a broom next to him against the table and says "Whatever, the food isn't free!"
Rey walks through a large ship in dark clothing with the orange eyes of dark side users. Several older commanders walk behind her. "Why haven't they given up yet?" asks Rey in frustration and a commander responds "Phasma is still alive, they cling to her like their savior". "And what happened to the supplies that were supposed to be here last week?" she asks, another commander replies "They were disrupted when a Republic fleet retook sector 46a from us". "Whoever is in charge of 46a is now removed, demote them immediately, we won't let our selves become as incompetent as the Republic" Rey responds. "Retake the sector using a fleet led by a former First Order soldier, we can use past grudges to strengthen their commitment" says Rey. A younger soldier is seen running toward them. "We've found Phasma!" and displays a map to Rey and the commanders. "Is this some final suicidal charge?" smirks one of the commanders after looking at the map "No… I'll lead that battle myself" says Rey. "But Comrad, Phasma is in a strategic disadvantage. We don't need much force to crush her, and if she really does have some trick it would be safer to avoid sending anyone… important". Rey seems angry by the last statement "I'm going... ".
Finn plays with a force ball. He still can't manage to hold one for more than a few seconds. Meanwhile Kylo is training himself. He looks up at a large cliff that looks unclimbable. Kylo focuses and force jumps up the cliff one leap at a time. But suddenly a piece of the wall breaks off and Kylo finds himself falling rapidly. He tries to force push the ground to break his fall but he still lands very hard and groans in pain. Finn rushes over and starts to heal him. "You could train more safely you know. Have you tried those balls over there?" Kylo groans and replies "I mastered those balls when I was a kid...", "Oh..." Finn says as he looks embarrassed.
Poe lies in bed without his shirt. He gets up and walks around his room toward a guy sitting on a desk furiously going through battle plans. "What are doing?" asks Poe as he puts his hand on the other guys shoulder. "I'm looking through the plans..." he says "pff why?" asks Poe. And the guy responds "because I've given up on trying to get you to stop fighting, so instead I'm going to try to keep you alive". "Jeez, we only met a few months ago" replies Poe smirking as he walks away. "Asshole..." replies the guy as he keeps studying. Suddenly the guy tells Poe "Come here!". Poe walks back. "Look here I think they are planning to lead the battle toward this split and hallowed moon." "Oh?" "I think it's so we can't come at them with all our ships at once", "reminds me of the battle in that asteroid belt..." Poe says as his eyes light up. "This is my kind of battle!" says Poe. "Maybe it is better this way… you can't get surrounded if you decide to be an idiot again either..." says the guy.
Kylo Ren uses his lightsaber against a thick rock as Finn watches in the distance. Kylo does maneuver after maneuver accentuated with a few saber throw attacks. Finn hops down toward Kylo. "Hey Kylo, how do you throw your lightsaber without it turning off, is your lightsaber special?" and Kylo replies "No… I can do it with any weapon. It requires intense focus and force training, so I don't think you'll be able to learn it." says Kylo. "Pff, that's not why I asked. I think there is a technique you could learn that I read about." Finn responds. Kylo's interest is peaked. Finn leads Kylo to the Jedi library. "So this is where you go at night..." says Kylo. Finn manually lights a few torches before Kylo turns the rest on through the force. "Show off…" says Finn as he grabs the book on lightsaber combat. "Check this out!" says Finn as he points to something in the book. "Interesting…" replies Kylo.
First Order ships run from a larger fleet of New Order ships. They head toward a hallowed moon before turning outward. "This is it" Poe says to his radio. Rey replies "You know what to do" she says as her, Poe, and other elite ships separate from the rest and go toward the moon. They start to engage the enemy ships. At first the battle is going well, a few enemy ships fall. As Rey destroys one another fires at her. They start to dogfight and Rey is having trouble. "This one's different..." she says as she continues to battle. She almost gets the upper hand but another ship starts to attack her. She is still barely managing to hold her own and manages to move her ship toward a debris field. She makes a sharp turn behind large debris but instead of continuing she stops her ship and turns around ready to fire at any ship that chases her down the corner. She waits a moment but no ship comes, "something's wrong here..." she says as she starts to move her ship as a blast comes up from underneath her, grazing a wing of her ship causing damage. "How did it know!?" she says in a panic. She starts flying her ship away and yells in the comms "I need cover fire! NOW!" a few ships disengage their targets and head toward her. They manage to give some cover fire letting her escape the two fighters that were chasing her. Meanwhile Poe is having trouble as well against a ship. Every time he is about to connect a hit the shit barely dodges. "It's as if it's reading my mind..." Poe says astonished. The ship flies toward some debris, and Poe starts to smile. Poe punches up the acceleration. The enemy ship speeds up as well. Their dogfight gets extremely intense as they have to dodge debris as well as each other. As their ships approach maximum speed objects fly by as just blurs but Poe manages to hit the enemy causing it to explode into some debris. "No time to read my mind that time" Poe says.
Two more ships approach Poe. They seem to be the same model as the one he just destroyed. Things are looking rough but Poe is managing to stay alive. He flies in between both of them. Their cross fire makes it harder for him to dodge but because he is between them they start having to dodge each other's fire as well. Poe takes advantage and flies straight toward one of the ships. A shot from behind him forces the ship to dodge, right into a blast of Poe's. The enemy ship is severely damaged as Poe flies past it. But suddenly a black cloaked figure jumps from the cockpit of the enemy ship toward Poe. Poe doesn't see it but suddenly he hears a bang on his ship. He looks up to see a creature covered in black metal armor attached at the skin with only slight hints of flesh showing. It's face is completely covered in a mask, and it's clothed only in a black tattered cloak. Suddenly it ignites a light saber and cuts open the cockpit. Poe's scream "IT JUMPED ON MY SHIP" echoes in Rey's cockpit before the cooms turn to static. Rey looks at the battle and sees ship after ship of her fleet being destroyed. "RETREAT!" she says, a commander responds "But… we… we may never manage to track them down again!" she replies "SHUT UP, RETREAT NOW!"
Finn's face sweats nervously. Suddenly he activates a lightsaber. "C-can't you just practice with a w-wooden sword?" says Finn nervously as he looks at Kylo. "No, half the difficulty is keeping the lightsaber activated". Kylo slowly walks up to Finn and then attacks. Finn blocks it and they clash. Kylo grunts trying something but suddenly his lightsaber comes out of his hands and is knocked up by Finn. Finn starts panting "I'M ALIVE I'M ALIVE!" Kylo picks up his saber after it hits the ground and turns it back on. "AGAIN!" says Kylo. Finn sighs heavily. Kylo says "It's true. The real reason you left the first order wasn't because of morals or principle, it was because you are a coward." Finn gets noticeably annoyed and replies "You're just an asshole. No wonder your only friend was someone like Snoke!" They activate their lightsabers and clash again. This time it is Finn who stumbles and falls onto his back. Kylo tells him "He wasn't always like that..." and walks away.
"Nearly twenty percent of our forces have deserted us to join the First Order comrad..." says a commander to Rey. Rey doesn't seem phased. "We don't need cowards." she replies. A man enters the room, it's the guy who was with Poe before. She continues, "there is a way we can turn this to our favor" she says. "What's your name?" asks the commander. "Junji Balik… Dameron" says the guy. Rey tells the commander to leave them. Once he leaves she asks Junji "Why are you volunteering for this? How do I know you're not just another coward?". "I… just want revenge..." says Junji. Rey looks at him questioningly. She puts her palm on his head and closes her eyes. She hears whispers of Poe and Junji as well as other random voices. Rey opens her eyes. "Alright… go, but don't tell a single soul where you're going" she says. As Junji leaves he hears her say "good luck", but when he looks she's already gone to another room.
"Our numbers are growing, General Phasma" says a soldier to her as she walks toward her room. "Hmph… expected." she replies. Once they get to her room he salutes and leaves as she enters and starts her communicator. The same hooded figure is shown. "Are you satisfied?" asks the hooded figure. "Yes… they exceeded my expectations" replies Phasma. "Then it's time we joined in earnest. Head to the facility. Bring only your most trusted officers, as well as your least trusted." "Yes Lord..." she says as the device turns off.
Luke enjoys a well prepared meal as Finn adds more to his plate. Meanwhile, Kylo just eats what appears to be raw ingredients and tough vegetables by themselves. Finn prepares his own plate and starts to eat. Finn looks at Luke who seems preoccupied by his meal, and then at Kylo who refuses to acknowledge anyone else's existence at the table and gazes off to the side. "Master Skywalker… is… the dark side evil?" Luke looks at him and says under his breath "master skywalker... " as he chuckles a little. Luke answers "The dark side… isn't evil. There are even some dark side users who haven't hurt a single person in their lifetime, dying peacefully of old age with friends and family." says Luke. "Then why do the Jedi fear and hate the dark side so much?" asks Finn further. "The dark side may not be evil itself, but paths down the darkside lead to tragedy. The light gains power through tranquility, and compassion. The dark side gains power through extreme emotions like anger, pain, and sadness. Just like how its easier to motivate yourself through anger and pain, it's easier to gain power from the Force through these emotions as well. Sith lords force themselves and their followers to plunge themselves into misery. In order to strengthen their connection to the dark side some have killed their own friends, lovers, even family." Finn looks at Kylo who seems to be ignoring the conversation. "But, the dark side takes a toll on the users body, deforming them over time" Luke goes on. Finn asks "Why would anyone choose the dark side then?" and Luke responds "Some people will sacrifice anything for power, whether it's other people, or their own souls." Kylo stands up from his chair and says "Not everyone has the luxury to sit on an island playing with rocks for years" and he starts to walk away. "Your mother didn't have that luxury either… but she still found the light" says Luke. Kylo stops walking. He turns around and yells back "IF YOU HAD STAYED WITH THE REPUBLIC THE FIRST ORDER WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN MADE. SHE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO FIGHT ALL THOSE YEARS!" Luke gloomly replies "So what, you wanted me to force people to agree by force? How is that any different than being emperor myself!" "Maybe you should have…" replies Kylo as he walks away. Luke responds "The galaxy doesn't need any more emperors it just needs more…" but Kylo is already gone "conversation..."
Junji lines up with dozens of other First Order soldiers as Phasma paces in front of them. "You have been chosen... To lead this galaxy to Order once again." She says as a large ship in front of them opens. "Your sacrifice will be etched into history itself." Higher level commanders start boarding the ship. "Have you made peace with your lives, are you ready to become heroes of the galaxy?" she asks as they stomp their feet and salute in confirmation. She starts boarding the ship herself. "Come, and become more than you could have ever imagined!" "FIRST COMES ORDER THEN COMES PEACE!" they shout as they board the ship with Phasma waiting until the last one has boarded. A commander asks her "Shouldn't we bring more escorts?" Phasma replies "No, the remaining eight are coming, and we will spawn more soon" She enters the ship. The ship leaves and warps to a star base. Junji and the other soldiers are being marched into individual medical labs. There Junji is injected with a pin circulating blood that isn't his. He is laid onto a medical table with a black cloak underneath. A tube is placed down his mouth. Then suddenly the table he is on traps his limbs and straps his body down. He starts to squirm and tries to scream but the tube down his mouth prevents him. One Kaminoan scientist asks the other "should we sedate him…?" the other replies "No… the pain he will feel will make him stronger..." One of the scientists takes a knife and starts to cut into Junji's flesh. Rey opens her eyes up sweating and panting from her desk.
Later, Rey is in a meeting room with her commanders. "The majority of their forces are here." she points on the map. "However, their real point of interest is here" She points to a far away planet. One commander whispers "how does she know that?" and another whispering "these mystics..." Rey stomps her feet to get their attention. "We had to sacrifice to learn of this information, don't let it go to waste!" she says. "The majority of our forces will attack their main force, the rest will come with me creating a sneak attack on their base." A Commander replies "We cannot handle splitting our forces like this!". Rey responds "If we attack their main forces only, they will change the location of their base. If we attack their base only, we will likely be defeated once they bring their full force." She continues "Our main fleet will engage their main fleet only for as long as it takes for my unit to get into position, they have no chance of winning a full battle". The commanders look at each other worryingly. One asks "What's so important about their star base?" Rey replies "They are creating monsters. Removing their skin and placing them inside advanced cyborg armor capable of surviving even in space. Their minds are dissected and implanted with battle experience and control chips. Somehow they can even use the Force. They call them DeathWalkers, for now there are only eight of them… soon there will be too many for any army to deal with".
As Finn is trying to prepare more food Kylo uses force levitate to sneak in a few bites of the cooked food. Luke comes in and tells them "Rey is in trouble". Kylo looks away in dismissal. Finn is noticeably worried though. "What's going on?" he asks Luke. "I don't know the details but she's engaging in a desperate stealth attack against Phasma". Finn asks "how do you know?" Kylo replies "The Force… obviously..." Luke chuckles and replies "No… just an old communicator device and a few friends on the inside." Finn and Kylo look at each other in surprise. "What? You think an old war hero like me doesn't have any friends?" says Luke. Finn marches toward Kylo's now repaired ship. Luke and Finn are following him. Kylo asks Luke "Are you going?" and Luke replies "No…" Finn asks "What why!?" and Luke replies, "Who am I to judge Phasma, or Rey. From here they are both just rulers fighting for power and what they think is right…" Finn replies "But you know Rey!" Luke looks at him and sighs, "Attachment is not the Jedi way. It led my father astray as well..." Finn continues on toward the ship. "I don't care… I'm going" replies Finn. "This isn't your fault, it has nothing to do with you." says Kylo. Finn replies "It's not my fault but… Rey's my friend… I have a responsibility to help her!". Kylo steps forward past Luke toward the ship. "You're going too?" asks Luke surprised. "I have a responsibility… to make sure this idiot doesn't die." Luke holds both his hand up to the side, waiting for something. After a few seconds two lightsabers land in his hands. He gives one to Ben. "It's your old one… Just in case something happens to your new one" says Luke. Ben takes it and heads into the ship. Before Finn closes the hatch Luke yells out "I thought you weren't a fighter Finn". Finn replies "I'm not… I'm just going… to talk… to both of them". Luke then throws the other saber at Finn who catches it. Finn, surprised, says "Uh, I'm not too good with these things" and Luke answers "I know. It's my lightsaber. It's an old heirloom. Think of it as a good luck charm". Finn nods and closes the hatch. Luke smirks as they fly off.
A large battle roars between the main First Order and New Order fleets. The New Order ships are scattered and mostly doing quick hit and run strikes avoiding dense combat. A table filled with First Order is seen merrily. "Of course an army led by such a young fool would try to engage us head on" says one First Order commander gloating to another. Another commander, the only one who seems serious and worried, replies "You can tell by their formation they are trying to keep us busy while minimizing their casualties." Another cheerful commander replies "Hmph they are obviously just too terrified to engage us. They lack the discipline of our troops." Suddenly an emergency hologram communication is displayed on the center table. "Commanders, the star base is under attack I repeat the star base is under attack". A commander yells "WHAT, WARP THERE NOW!" the stern commander answers "we can't warp, they are blocking our path..."
A small scale battle is underway as Rey and her small number of ships battle a small number of ships and canons on the star base. "There's one of them in these ships..." Rey says to herself as she looks around the battlefield. The battle is one sided against her, as she hears "ship 2a is down, ship 3f is down, all of squad 4 is down", but one of her ships kamikazes into the base creating an opening. A ship that doesn't belong to her faction boards the star base from the opening, it's Finn and Ben's ship. She tries to follow but the star base seals the opening using moving walls.
Ben and Finn are running with their green and blue lightsabers lit through the halls. They see scientists and engineers who cower in fear away from them. They come across a crossroads and Ben says "This way I can feel it" Finn shrugs and follows him. Eventually they come across a larger hallway and blocking their path are two DeathWalkers who ignite their red lightsabers. "What are these things..." asks Finn, Ben replies "I have no idea, Luke didn't know anything about them...". Finn takes two steps back and Ben walks forward. They both leap at Ben, their heavy bodies creating cracks in the floor as they land. Ben Is managing to hold them off though is having a tough time. But suddenly, one starts to attack Finn. Finn tries to block but he is no match, after a few strikes he stumbles back falling onto the floor. Terrified he rolls out of the way of a few stomps and manages to block incoming strikes, he manages to get up but now a wall is behind him. The DeathWalker leaps toward Finn to finish him but Ben throws his lightsaber cutting the DeathWalker in half mid air, and as the saber comes back to him Ben dodges the DeathWalker in front of him. With his saber back in his hands Kylo rushes at the Deathwalker eventually chopping him in half vertically. Finn gets up and looks down mournfully at the two dead bodies. Ben tells him "I can sense they are in constant agony… it's better they are at peace now" Finn looks up and continues running.
Rey fights ships brashly, shooting down one after another. Eventually she comes across a ship that manages to evade all her strikes. "There you are..." she says to herself. They dogfight but she isn't able to get the upper hand. Eventually they both face each other. They both start charging at each other, dodging each other's blasts until their ships collide, but this time Rey's ship is designed precisely for this kind of maneuver similar to Kylo's old ship. Rey's ship slices off the enemy ship's wings like butter, she quickly turns around and targets the cockpit shooting it down.
Finn and Ben continue running through until Finn notices a room that controls one of the hangars. Finn tells Ben to wait. Ben stands there as Finn activates the hangar opening it to the outside. They continue running onwards.
Rey continues fighting ships and destroying canons until she sees the open hangar. It's already starting to close as Rey races towards it. She dodges countless blasts and slices through a cannon before barely managing to enter the hangar before it closes.
Ben and Finn make it to a large room. A staircase leading to a large door is above, but guarding it are three DeathWalkers. "I'll take care of them, you go through that door and have your stupid talk" says Ben readying his lightsaber. Ben throws his lightsaber at them, which they block and the three DeathWalkers proceed to jump on him. Finn manages to run along the side of the room until he makes it up the staircase to the door. A DeathWalker notices Finn heading there and runs after him. Ben jumps over the two he's fighting and lands between Finn and the running DeathWalker. Finn tries to open the door but for some reason it won't budge. He turns around to see a DeathWalker with his hand out using the Force to keep the door closed. "Ben, that one!" Finn points. Ben jumps high into the air and throws his lightsaber at the Force using DeathWalker, cutting its hand. The DeathWalker groans and faces Kylo. Finn manages to open the door and go through, he looks back as the 3 DeathWalkers surround Ben on all sides.
Rey makes her own way toward the command center. As she goes she is confronted with two DeathWalkers herself. She fights them both but is having trouble. She resorts to using her Force kicks but when they land they do nothing against the heavy cyborg bodies of the DeathWalkers. Sensing their victory the DeathWalkers leap at Rey. She blocks them both barely and then goes forward for her own attack. The attack is blocked by one of the DeathWalkers but suddenly the bottom of Rey's lightsaber ignites as well creating a double sided lightsaber that slices the arm off of the DeathWalker by surprise. Rey smirks as she twirls her double sided saber ready to fight.
Finn sees Phasma looking at monitors showing the next batch will soon be ready. "You know when I first heard you deserted I was sure you would just live the rest of your life hiding in civility" says Phasma to Finn. "I couldn't believe you joined the Republic resistance, but then I learned it's because you were guarded by a powerful Force wielder." she continues. "Even now you are here only by hiding behind the strength of others..." she finishes. "So what!" Finn replies. "Just because someone's weak doesn't mean they don't deserve to be heard!" he shouts. "Isn't that the whole point of the First Order! So that people like me can live in peace without having to fight?" Finn continues. "Yes but… FIRST comes Order… peace must be bought with power" Phasma continues. Finn replies "Those things out there… they… aren't tools of peace, even I can feel their suffering, imprisoned in those suits being forced to constantly feel pain to bring out their dark side… their bodies being forced to do what you say..." Finn says disturbed and saddened by what he has seen. "Sacrifices have to-!", "BULLSHIT" replies Finn "That's the excuse everyone uses but all you ever do is create more misery! You're not doing this to help anyone, you just want revenge!" Phasma answers "Hmph even so… who are you to judge me for what I desire" Phasma replies. Finn replies "I just came here to talk, maybe the First Order is doing some things right, there's no reason why we can't just talk to Rey and the Republic without fighting." Phasma starts to laugh and says "All that girl wants is to feel important, and the bureaucrats in the Republic would never willingly give up an ounce of power, even to their people, if it meant losing any of their control". Finn replies "But, at least right now people will listen and things will change bit by bit if you show enough… resistance… whoever controls this army your making will never have to listen to anyone again! Doesn't that bother you!?" Phasma looks down without anything to say. Suddenly her wrist command beams with warnings of more intruders. Phasma picks up a large cannon blaster near her. "There's no time to talk..." she says as she shoots Finn with a powerful blast, too large to deflect with a lightsaber. Finn manages to leap away and starts sprinting towards her. She fires another blast that Finn barely manages to dodge as well. Finn manages to get into melee range and Phasma says "You've gotten a little faster" as Finn strikes aiming at her weapon. But the bottom of Phasma's weapon emits a short beam that blocks Finn's saber. The gun handle then transforms making the gun similar to a large axe. Finn tries to fight it but the weight of the axe causes Finn to lose balance and stumble backward. Phasma quickly transforms it back into a gun that shoots at Finn. Finn is forced to dodge away from Phasma. Finn tries the same tactic trying to get closer but when he gets in melee range the axe is too much for him to deal with. Suddenly they hear a loud bang from the door. The door opens and a DeathWalker steps forward toward Finn. It tries to leap at Finn, but instead collapses onto the floor dead, showing its back with deep cuts. Ben enters the room blood dripping from his face with a cut on his cheek, his left arm is cut off. Two dead DeathWalkers lay outside. Ben looks at both of them and smirks to say "This doesn't look like talking to me..." Phasma charges her gun aiming at Ben, only for Ben to quickly throw his saber she tries to block it with the axe part of her gun but she isn't ready and the throw is stronger than it looks, as she loses her grip and the weapon goes flying away. Ben then Force pushes her against the wall and she collapses onto the floor. "Just tell us how to stop those things!" pleads Finn. But, Phasma is silent. Ben walks closer to her. Ben stands over her with his hand with a deactivated lightsaber pointing at her. Phasma says "I guess this is how Hox died too..." says Phasma. "I bet he didn't talk before you killed him and neither will I!" she says resolutely. Ben's lightsaber floats to his belt as Ben lowers his hand and says "I didn't kill Hox". Phasma grabs Ben's outstretched hand.
"I killed him" we hear Rey say as she enters the room. "You made this evil place… the First Order deserves to be destroyed!" Rey says igniting one side of her saber as she steps toward Phasma. "Step away and let me finish this!" she continues. Ben turns around and ignites his saber as well. "I'm not the same as last time" Ben says ready to fight. Finn tries to calm them down "H-how about we just bring this place down and decide what to do with her later?" "I've been waiting a long time for this Finn..." says Ben. "So have I..." says Rey looking at Phasma. Rey starts attacking Ben. Finn steps back kneeling beside Phasma. In their flurry of blows it seems Ben has the upper hand. Ben manages to push her back and then throws his saber at her, but she deflects with one side of her saber before activating the other and attacking Ben. Ben barely manages to dodge both sides with some of his clothes torn. She continues to attack and with her double sided saber Ben seems to be at a disadvantage. Ben blocks one of Rey's attacks with his saber only to have Rey attack with a Force kick. Suddenly Ben blocks the kick with his hand. Rey looks up to see Ben's saber floating still blocking her saber while his hands block her kick. Ben grabs his floating saber as Rey backs away and says "Looks like the color of your lightsaber isn't the only thing that's changed…" Ben continues attacking her, with her kicks blocked by Ben's hand. Eventually Ben blocks her saber with his blade, blocks her kick with his shin and punches her hard in the face with his hand. Rey wipes the blood off her face. She jumps forward attacking. As she goes for a kick Ben goes to block it, but feels something strange and decides to jump back instead. As she kicks a lightsaber ignites attached to the outer part of Rey's right shin. Rey stands solely on her left foot with her right foot in the air with the attached glowing red shin saber. "I'm not the same as last time either..." Rey says. She leaps off one foot at Ben somersaulting in the air attacking with her leg before landing behind Ben and attacking with her duel-bladed saber. With a duel bladed saber and her shin saber Ben is forced back desperately trying to block and dodge all the incoming attacks. Rey leaps over Ben again this time attacking with her duel saber first in mid air, deflecting Ben's blade before spin kicking Ben with her shin saber. Ben leaves his saber floating and dodges out of the way only to find Rey kick was aimed at his saber handle breaking it, and when she lands she swipes at Ben slashing his chest open. Ben collapses onto the floor screaming in agony. Rey walks toward Phasma and starts to force crush her as she yells "OPEN THE COMMAND CENTER!" Phasma screams in pain. Finn is forced to the side to avoid her. He runs toward Ben. "OPEN IT!" Rey screams. "First…Comes... Order..." Phasma barely manages to say as she writhes in pain. "HEAL ME! I can still fight!" Ben says to Finn as he grabs Kylo's red saber from his belt. Finn puts his hand over Ben's chest where it's slashed and closes his eyes. Suddenly Finn opens his eyes and says "No…" Ben looks at him confused. "It… won't be enough..." Finn says as he sighs. Finn stands up and walks towards Rey. "Rey stop! I used to be part of the First Order, and when I found you, you trusted me, you saved me! If I can change so can Phasma, so can all of them!" Rey continues to crush Phasma, her armor cracking under the pressure and she replies "It's easy to trust someone too weak to pose a threat. You never changed, you were just a coward and you still are.". Finn looks deeply saddened as he watches Phasma being tortured. He takes out his lightsaber. "If I show you I'm not a coward… if I show you I've changed… will you stop?". Rey hears a lightsaber igniting and stops attacking Phasma and turns to see Finn lightsaber in hand facing her.
Rey walks closer to him as she ignites both sides of her saber. Ben looks at Phasma. Phasma looks at them and says "Am I... really worth... all this... " with a whimper. Phasma yells "J-Just kill me instead! That stupid boy has nothing to do with this!" Rey responds "This is the only way! This is the only way to show people like him they're wrong! You can't change anything without power, you can't get power without sacrifice! This is what I have to sacrifice to show you all how things are!". Ben yells "What the hell are you doing Finn… you really think dying is going to change her mind?".
Luke stands on a ledge looking at the stars. He looks very upset. "So it's come to this… I should have gone with them..."
Finn pushes aside what everyone is saying and responds terrified with his eyes closed "I-if y-you strike me n-now… I-I'll become m-more powerful than y-you can imagine!". Rey, Ben, and Phasma remain in complete silence and stillness for what seems like an eternity. Suddenly, Rey raises her saber and screams "Goodbye Finn!". She swings at Finn's head. To her surprise her blade is stopped by Finn's saber. Annoyed Rey unleashes a flurry of blows but somehow every attack is blocked by Finn, whose eyes are still closed. Phasma murmurs bewildered at the miracle before her eyes "W-what… is happening?". She looks at Ben for answers who starts hobbling towards her. "I can't believe it..." Ben says as he walks while watching Finn deflect every blow becoming faster and faster. Rey ignites her shin saber and leaps around him attacking with more fury than in her fight against Ben. "All I see… is a blur of blue" says Phasma as she watches Finn and his blue saber move. Ben looks at them in awe himself. Every attack Finn deflects enrages Rey further making her attack faster and faster, only for Finn to react faster in kind. "It's over, give up" says Finn, his eyes still closed. Rey screams, Finn's suggestion only making her even more unstable as she leaps at him, her face pained by pure frustration. Rey jumps over Finn while attacking in mid-air like she did with Ben. Finn moves in a blur. She lands both her feet on the floor her shin saber crackles as sparks fly from the ground it pierces. Her duel sided saber breaks in two. As Rey's shin saber deactivates she collapses onto her hands and knees tears rolling down her eyes. "What happened?" asks Phasma, still in shock. "I don't know..." murmurs Ben. Finn deactivates his saber as he loses his balance and kneels onto the ground sweating and panting profusely. "Did Luke teach you that in secret..." Ben asks Finn who shakes his head out of breadth and manages to barely murmur "It's… from a book...". Phasma mutters "I don't understand a thing… we really are worthless compared to you… wizards...". Ben shakes his head in disagreement with Phasma and is about to say something but suddenly Phasma starts to laugh hysterically "But, it's too late!" she says.
"What do you mean?" asks Ben. Phasma explains "You have no chance… it looks like he won't be able to do that again anytime soon though I doubt it would work against someone like them..." Finn replies "Let's get out of here and just call Luke for help..." still panting. Rey stands up and looks at the monitors as she says "There's no time… by the time he gets here a countless number of those things will spawn spreading everywhere across the galaxy". Ben looks at Phasma and asks her to open the command chamber. She laughs and clicks on her arm device to open it. "It won't make a difference now" she says as they hear a chamber opening in the distance. Rey walks toward the chamber. Ben has his red lightsaber in his hand as he says "wait" while walking towards her. "You would only get in the way..." Rey tells him. Ben says "I know" as he places the saber in her hands. Finn gets up and tries to follow her but Ben looks at him and shakes his head as he says "Let's get back to my ship and call my Uncle, maybe he can do something… I have to make sure I do what I came here for and keep you alive…" Finn responds by yelling to Rey "Come with us Phasma is right you can't win!" Rey replies "I don't need to beat him… I just need to turn off the machine making those monsters... " as she leaves the room. Finn sighs and grabs Ben as they keep themselves up shoulder to shoulder to run back to their ship.
Rey enters the command center to see a cloaked bandaged figure sitting facing a large complicated control panel. On either side of them are tubes filled with DeathWalkers gestating. Up above are empty balconies overlooking windows to the battle still raging outside. Rey asks the cloaked figure "They said you're someone who has been with the republic for a long time… why betray the republic now?" The cloak figure responds but to Rey's surprise it's a familiar voice. "The First Order is right. The Republic is filled with idiotic beurucrats who only care about themselves. Even with my position I couldn't do a thing to change it from the inside. When the First Order was first created I doubted Snoke's leadership. But with him gone, I saw an opportunity to finally fix the Republic once and for all." The figure turns around and takes off their hood. "I can't believe it's really you… I thought you were dead!" Rey says as she gazes into the eyes of General Leia, her face and body mangled. "I almost did… but the force is strong in my family. I came out of that battle enlightened. By the time I healed, Snoke was already dead and there was no reason to go back to serve that senile republic. I'm so proud of you. You defeated Hox for me. You are like the daughter I wish I had...!" Rey starts to walk closer to her tears in her eyes. "I was so alone…" Rey says as she hugs Leia. Leia continues "So was I… stuck here in hiding... no one to talk to..." Rey looks behind Leia and sees the monitors displaying DeathWalkers about to spawn. "Those monsters are about to hatch!" Rey tells Leia. Leia responds "I know… I know they seem like terrifying, miserable, monsters. But… they are all volunteers. People who gave their lives to serve so that ordinary people could live in peace. They have my father, the Chosen One's blood flowing through them, only his blood could let ordinary people experience the Force, not even my blood is pure enough. It's a precious gift they are proud to receive." Rey stops hugging Leia and starts to back away. "You made… those things..." Rey says in shock. Rey shouts "They killed Poe!". Leia has a genuinely solemn look in her eyes "I wish they hadn't Rey. They were never meant to kill him, I thought he would do fine against them with his skills..." Rey sighs in relief and says "ya... he fought two at the same time... I guess… it was just bad luck… maybe these things really can be used to keep the galaxy safe..." Leia responds "Of course… A long time ago my Father gave Luke a chance to join him to overthrow the emperor and bring the galaxy to prosperity. My brother was young and in shock, he rejected the offer only to accept my Father's help later. His hesitation cost my Father his life. Without him, Luke was too young and naive to ever lead a galaxy and he let it fall to chaos instead. I tried to fix it the best I could but the Republic was too far gone so the First Order gained the support of the people instead. But, my... children… have given us a new chance. My son defeated Snoke, and my… daughter defeated Hox." Rey asks her "But… then why are you helping the First Order now?" Leia explains "With the First Order in my control I can reform the Republic from the inside and out!" Rey asks "What will you do?" Leia responds "Lead it, like I led my armies… with the help of my family of course..." she says looking at Rey. "Lead it like your armies… are you going to make yourself emperor?" Rey asks. Leia replies "Isn't that what you were going to do with your New Order?". Rey looks down and says "But what if I... was wrong…" Leia looks at her disappointedly. Rey begs "Please… just turn them off… can't we just… talk about this..." Leia looks a little angry as she says "You might have just started thinking about this... daughter. But I've been thinking about this for DECADES! I don't need to talk about it, WITH ANYONE." Rey angerily replies "I'm turning it off!" as she walks towards the controls. Leia blasts her with the Force sending her flying back.
Ben and Finn are already on their ship ready to leave. Finn is healing Ben. Suddenly Ben senses something. "Is it done?" asks Ben. "Ya I think so… ready to fly?" says Finn. "I'm going back…" says Ben. "What do you mean, you still can't fight in the shape you're in!" says Finn worried. "Trust me Finn… I'm just going to talk..." says Ben as Finn rolls his eyes. "I've heard that one before" says Finn. Ben leaves the ship. "I'll be back, don't worry, keep the ship ready!" says Ben as he runs off.
Rey gets up terrified "Luke will stop you!" she yells. "Even he won't be able to after they spawn." Leia answers. Rey shouts more angry than ever and dashes toward Leia, Kylo's lightsaber ignited before leaping at her to strike. But before she can get close she is blasted back again hitting a gestating chamber on the side severely cracking it. "Striking you, feels like I'm striking at a part of my own body Rey. Please, daughter.. Stop this and trust me..." Rey with tears in her eyes tries to attack again, only to be bounced back hitting into another pod as her bones crack echoing through the chamber. As Rey gets back up her arm is limp to her side. Leia says "You can't stop me by force Rey… Even if you did is trying to change things by force any different than what I'm doing?" Rey responds "Ruling an entire Galaxy by force… how can you think that's the same thing!" Rey attacks again only to be hit back. As Rey gets up she spits out blood from her mouth. Leia sighs ready to strike again and says "Look at you, all you've learned is how to wield a sabre. Only barbarians gain power by increasing the number of sabres they wield. If you join me I could teach you how to truly master the force". Suddenly Rey's face looks calm. She starts running toward Leia. Leia raises her arm ready to counter. Phasma hears Rey in her head say "NOW!" and suddenly a blast comes from the balcony. Phasma is there having fired off a round with her large canon. Leia barely dodges the blast and force slams Phasma into the wall. Leia looks back toward Rey who is nowhere in sight. Leia looks up just in time to see Rey with Kylo's saber slashing down about to cut Leia vertically in half. Leia grabs the saber with both her hands defending against it. Rey's face is in shock but she quickly kicks out her leg, igniting her shin saber and cuts Leia horizontally in two. Rey turns toward the command terminal only to hear a terrifying groan from behind her. She turns back to find Leia floating toward her. Rey charges and stabs Leia in the left side of her chest, Leia blasts Rey back into the command Terminal, destroying some of the controls. Leia creeps closer, Kylo's saber still embedded inside her, the area begins to shake under her power. Suddenly Leia is blasted into pieces by another attack from Phasma. Kylo's saber flies back toward the entrance. Rey and Phasma run over to the command terminal. Phasma furiously uses the remaining functioning controls. Rey asks her "why did you help me?" and Phasma replies "It wasn't for you… I just thought that if I didn't stop this madness, I would be proving you right in wanting me dead."After a few more moments of going through the control panel Phasma yells in frustration "IT'S TOO LATE THEY WILL SPAWN ANY MOMENT NOW!". Suddenly a saber ignites as Ben, Kylo's saber in hand, appears at the entrance.
Ben walks toward the command terminal as he looks at Leia's destroyed body. He says "My mother was right. Snoke was right. Hox was right...". He gets closer "Those that can use The Force, will always rule over those who cannot… they can kill anyone they wish, live forever, control people's minds..." He aims his saber at Phasma and she walks away from the Terminal her arms up in surrender. "It's my family's blood..." Ben says as he enters commands. Suddenly a red vial comes out. "What are you going to do with it?" asks Rey threateningly. "Give it… to everyone..." Ben replies. Rey responds angrily "These things are monsters! You have no idea what that kind of power will do to the Galaxy!" she enters a battle stance as does Phasma charging her cannon, but to their surprise Ben deactivates the sabre and throws it to Rey who catches it. "I believe this is the only way to move the galaxy beyond tyranny" he says. They stare at each other in silence until Phasma nods deactivates her weapon and she says "It's what Hox would have wanted...". Ben and Phasma stare at Rey waiting for her response. Rey finally says "I don't like this idea there are a million ways it could go horribly wrong… but… I'll trust you". Ben nods and puts the vial safely into his vest. The gestating pods around them begin to empty. Ben starts to hobble out of the area. He turns around to find that Rey isn't coming with him. "What are you doing?" he asks her. "Even if Phasma carries you… you won't make it back in time." Phasma picks Ben up and begins to run out sprinting. Ben holds out his hand and shouts meekly "Rey… I…" Rey ignites her saber as DeathWalkers lurk out of their pods she turns to face Ben one last time as she says "I know…"
As Phasma runs with Ben in her arms she asks him "That trick you did floating the weapon in midair. Wouldn't it be more useful if you used both your sabers?" Ben replies "I doubt I could do that…" Phasma doubtfully says "It would have improved your odds at least". Ben says "only a little..." Phasma goes on "But why not at least try it?" Ben answers "then I can't attack... without killing her..."
Rey starts to battle with the DeathWalkers. She focuses on defense and just stalling, but her eyes are constantly shifting between them looking for something. She finally stops her gaze at one DeathWalker in particular. She says "I'll free you soon Junji" before aggressively jumping and attacking.
Phasma makes it back to the ship with Ben. "WHERE'S REY?" Finn yells. "Their coming, she is stalling them as long as she can..." says Phasma. Aboard the ship Finn starts to heal Ben yelling at Phasma "START THE SHIP WE CAN SAVE HER!". "It's okay Finn…" Finn hears Rey's voice in his head. "What? Is that you Rey, I'm coming to get you out of here!" Finn yells back. "It's okay…" she says again as her battle against the DeathWalkers is going poorly. "No legendary family... not even a last name…" says her voice inside Finn's head while he just grows more frustrated. She continues "We're both just nobodies" Finn starts to yell "HURRY UP PHASMA HURRY UP!". Rey finishes "If even nobodies like us can do this much, I can rest knowing it'll all work out." Suddenly Finn stops yelling and just cries. Phasma blows open a wall for a hole just big enough for their ship. They escape and Phasma asks "Where is she?" but Finn solemnly replies "It's too late..." several escape pods leave the star base and every ship in the battle starts to warp out as Phasma, Ben and Finn warp out as well.
There is a grand ceremony. Republic, First Order, and New Order ships and soldiers are part of the audience watching. An old alien continues to talk "Today I bring more joyous news! To replace General Leia, we have none other than the hero of the resistance, Master Skywalker!" the audience cheers as Luke stands on a balcony waving his hand. Luke doesn't look very happy. Finn pokes him with his elbow "Cmon master, surely you deserve at least a single vote on how the galaxy turns out". Luke mumbles grudgingly "...politics..." Finn replies "cmon, politics is talking" but Luke interrupts him "in the most manipulative way possible!". The old alien continues "As well as these 9 new councilmen representing various factions throughout the galaxy!" various commanders from the First Order and New Order present themselves on the big screen behind the announcer. Luke says "That reminds me… I know you taught yourself Vaapad...". Finn replies "Why didn't you teach it to me yourself! It saved lives!". Luke shakes his head "I haven't even taught it to myself! You have to master the darkness inside yourself, and the fury of your opponent. I grew up as a rebel, I've fought for too much of my life. I have nearly given into aggression before... If you try to use it and fail at best you'll give your energy to your opponent, at worst you'll sympathize with the enemy's fury and it will change you forever!". The announcer continues "Lastly, for the first time with new technology overseen by The Order of the Force, the Force may soon truly be with us ALL...". "How come Ben didn't show up?" asks Finn to Luke. Luke replies annoyed "I don't know where he is… I haven't seen him in awhile and he never picks up his communicator when I call..." Finn seems a bit surprised as he whispers "He picks up when I call… most of the time..." Luke gives him a surprised look as he looks back to the old alien and says "Hmph I wonder what he's doing that's so important..."
Ben enters a bar on a desert planet. The bartender asks "What brings you to Jakku? Buying slaves or something?" Ben looks back at him angrily. The bartender smiles and says "Just kidding, just kidding I know those are outlawed now…" Ben replies "I'm just here to see an old friend" as he places a map onto the counter points to a location and asks "how do I get here". The bartender nods and continues by explaining directions.
