"Hey kid? You alright?" All Might asked, slapping Izuku lightly.
"Huh? I had the weirdest dream. All Might was a skeleton," Izuku said blearlily.
"... do I really look that bad?"
"Huh! All Might?! You really are a skeleton!" Izuku said, sitting up, shocked.
"... Thanks for the self esteem boost."
"I'm so sorry All Might!"
"You can stop yelling, I get it."
"So… is this your true form?"
All Might sighed and lifted his shirt, and explained how he got his injury. When he was done he turned to leave.
"Well, I have work to do so—"
"Wait, All Might! The whole reason I grabbed onto you was to ask! Can someone like me with a useless quirk be a hero?" Izuku yelled, franic.
All Might turned back. "What's your quirk kid?"
"Analysis. My brain moves so fast that the world seems to slow down around me. I can't move as fast as my brain though."
All Might took a long look at the boy who had introduced himself as Izuku Midoriya. He had muscle for days, though he looked on the lean side of things. It was clear he had worked hard to become a hero.
"I'm sure you can. With enough determination, even someone quirkless could be a hero," All Might said, giving a thumbs up.
Izuku felt tears rush to his eyes. "Thank you All Might!"
All Might smiled brightly. I hope to see you at UA, young Midoria. He thought as he left. "Now to get you to the… po… lice." Crap. It's gone.
Izuku trudged down the stairs, a smile on his face. He had been validated. Sure, Katsuki always said he could. But to be told by his hero? Nothing could compare.
Izuku skipped on his way home. He smiled brightly. He could not be more happy. He was so happy he didn't even notice the explosions until he was in the crowd.
"What's going on? Why aren't the heros doing anything?" someone asked.
"I think that villain has a hostage."
What? A hostage? I wonder who it is?
Izuku pushed forward until he was at the front of the crowd.
What? That's the slime villain. How did it escape? Wait, no. Was it… me? I must've knocked it out of his pocket! What do I do? I have to wait. The heroes will do something. Right?
Suddenly, the slime turned, revealing it's hostage. Izuku's eyes widened as his heart froze. It was Katsuki.
Izuku didn't know how. He didn't know if he cared. All that mattered was that one second he was frozen, the next he was moving as fast as he could.
He looked at the slime as he activated his quirk.
I need to distract him and damage him at the same time. The only solid part of his body is his eyes so—
"I'll go for the eyes!" Izuku shouted as he pulled his backpack off and flung it.
"Oww!" the slime said as it pulled back slightly, giving Katsuki room to breath.
Izuku desperately started clawing at the slime and pulling on Katsuki's arm, trying to pull him out. But he wasn't strong enough.
"What are you doing here Deku?"
"I have to save you Kacchan!"
Izuku felled an arm on his arm, pushing him out of the way. Then Katsuki was set down next to him.
"Detroit… Smash!"
Izuku watched with wide eyes as the slime was once again splattered. Then he felt a single drop on his nose. Then it was pouring.
"Holy cow, he changed the weather!"
"He's just too amazing."
After that Katsuki was praised while Izuku was scolded.
.
.
.
Izuku trudged home, most of his happiness crushed by his scoldings. I was only trying to help.
"I Am Here, coming from an alley!"
Izuku stumbled back, his small remaining happiness coming to the surface. He smiled. "All Might!"
"Young Midoriya, I have made a very important decision! You will be my successor! I'm going to give you my quirk!"
"Okay, I'm not even going to get into the whole, 'giving a quirk' thing. Why me?"
"Why— Blerg! Sorry. Why did you save that young man?"
Izuku shrugged. "I don't know. My body was just… there. Like it moved on my own. You're bleeding."
"That is why I chose you! Not all heroes have the same origin story. But they do have one thing in common. Their bodies moved on their own. Midoriya, will you accept my quirk?"
Just like that? What's the catch? Wait, this is All Might we're talking about. There can't be a catch. Right?
"Yes," Izuku said. "As long as there's no catch."
Well, you might destroy your body but… "No catch. Now eat this," All Might said, plucking a hair.
"Already? Also, why the hair?"
"You need to ingest my DNA. And your body is already ready. You've been working hard, probably your whole life."
"Since I was five actually."
"That's beside the point. Eat!"

Ten Months Later. UA Entrance exam.
Izuku aced the written portion of the test. It wasn't hard, though he did feel like using his quirk was you had all the time you wanted to think, test's were just easy.
He now stood outside one of the mock cities, preparing for the practical. He looked around, and saw a girl who had stopped his fall earlier. He had the reflexes to stop it himself, but it was still a nice gesture.
I should talk to her, say thanks.
He had only taken one step however, when he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder.
"Are you going to go distract her?"
Izuku turned to see a boy who had called him out for muttering earlier. Although he had mostly gotten that habit in check, he still slipped up sometimes.
"Wouldn't dream of it," Izuku said, smiling coldly. He really didn't like this guy.
"GO!" Present Mic yelled. "There are no countdowns in real battle! GO GO GO!"
Izuku ran at the first go. He had been so surprised he had activated his quirk, giving him plenty of time to run ahead.
He smiled. This would be easy.
Whoosh!
The rude boy rushed past, slamming his leg into a one point bot. Izuku's eyes widened. So fast!
Izuku turned down an alley and slammed into a cesspit of robots.
He turned his quirk on.
The base of the neck on the one pointers has exposed wires.
He turned off his quirk and grabbed the wires, pulling them out.
On two pointers it's head is held on just barely.
He kicked it's head off.
Three pointers don't have an obvious weakness. Avoid them!
Izuku dodged three pointers and took out one and two pointers until he made it to the center of the city.
Rumble!Boom!
There, standing tall and imposing, was the three point bot.
Izuku stared dumbly as people ran by on either side of him.
I need to run I need to—
"Help!"
Izuku's eyes widened as he turned back to look. The girl who had helped him earlier was trapped under some rubble.
Before he could think he was running.
He felt One For All fill him as he jumped.
He had learned the first time he used it how to control the output in order to not break his body. Even so, in order to jump so high he had to use a lot of power, and he felt his muscles tear.
I need to be careful. Punch straight on, not at an angle.
He reared back his fist. "Smaaaaash!" Izuku smashed the robot to bits and began falling to the ground. His legs and arm ached, and he couldn't even think as he felt someone slap him.
"Ow," he muttered.

.
Izuke walked back and forth. Pacing. The results were supposed to come today.
"Izuku they're here!" Inko yelled.
Upon hearing her voice Izuku's eyes turned cold. He snached the letter from his mom and entered his room.
He stared at the letter for a good long while before opening it.
Out popped a hologram device, and up went the hologram.
"Is this thing on? Good good! Young Midoriya! You passed the written portion with flying colors, however you only got 17 points on the practical. This is barely enough to pass in last place. But that's not all! You also saved one Ochako Uraraka and have been awarded rescue points! That's right! The test was not based entirely on smashing robots! What kind of hero school would we be if we didn't award rescue points? For destroying the zero pointer, you have been awarded 60 rescue points. With a total score of 77 points, you are tied for first place with young Bakugou. Also… I'll be teaching at UA! What… there's more of these?! Got to go young Midoriya. I'll see you at your hero academia."
Izuku couldn't help it. He cried. He was so happy.
