Well here we go, probably the chapter that will have the most brutality. Maybe. Anyway, a recap from last chapter, Edd was trying to cheer Peter up, Edd finds out Laura is cheating on him, and now... now as the two were about to leave the mansion, they see what's happening on the news. What was on it... well you'll see in just a second... now will you? Enjoy the chapter.
Ch.2 Doomsday is Upon Us.
"Oh. My. God."
Those words went under blank ears as Edd watched the screen. The Avengers... Earth's mightiest heroes... were laid scattered across the streets, surprisingly not dead. It wasn't that though, it was that his father was hardly holding his own against the beast they were fighting, and he was losing... losing badly. The beast he fought... it looked like Hulk, but it wasn't. It was a 9'0" tall gray skinned, red-eyed, and was covered in large gray spikes and was wearing green shorts.
And it was laying out everything it came across.
Peter saw the look on Edd's face as lightning started to come off of him... again. "Edd, I know what you are thinking... but that's suicide."
"Gather the X-Men, tell them to come help exacuate, civilians and Avengers. I'm going to beat the ever living hell out of that gray skinned, spikey ass, Hulk rip-off of a mother fucker. I just hope I don't lose my dad in the process." With that said, Edd was out the door as quickly as he could, changing into his Wolf form and moving as fast as the very element can travel. He wasn't going into this fight as Stormwolf, the hero the kids always wanted to meet, he wasn't the guy that everyone thought was cool to hang around with. No, as of right now he was the Wolf, the beast that will unleash pain and lightning down upon this new beast.
Back with Peter, he scrambled to get the X-Men from whatever they were doing and showed them the footage and told what was about to happen. Most of them were confident Edd would kill the beast, but they soon learn that Edd didn't want them to help fight, but to get everyone out, something they could agree on.
"Edd's planning to unleash hell on this monster, so that means that civilians are going to get in the way, and that there will be casualties," Peter stated after explaining the situation, "he's going to need all the help he can get."
"Peter's right," Logan said as he stood up, "Edd's going to buy us some time, and he's going to do that as long as he can keep himself from losing it."
"We need to move now," Bobby Drake said, "because the longer it takes us to evacuate..."
"...the less it takes for Edd to get Storm Beast," Jean Grey said as she stood up as well as she faced the rest of the X-Men. "Gear up, we're about to enter a war zone. The goal is to get all civilian and Avenger life away from the battle, and by no circumstances,
no one gets in between Edd and the monster."
On the stairs, Laura heard everything. She knew she screwed up big time with Edd. She regretted it as it was the first she ever experienced being loved like that. It broke her heart seeing that look of betrayal on his face when she last saw him. Worse part was when she walked back into her room, she found the broken case with a still perfectly intact ring.
When she saw the ring on the floor... she teared up worse than she did before. It was now nothing but a reminder of her mistake, her now biggest regret. It will probably haunt her for the rest of her life... unless she can somehow earn his
forgiveness.
She knew it might be futile, but she had to try. The mutant clone wasn't going to give up the man she truly loved... not without a fight. Which might possibly be literal.
Logan walked over to her to see her holding the ring in her hand. He sighed. "If you want him to put that on your finger... you two are going to need a serious talk. Only after we do what we have to do." She nodded and went to get dressed into her suit.
Peter walked up beside Logan as soon as she left. "Do you think he'll forgive her?"
"I don't know webhead, but she's willing to try," Logan said before turning to Peter, "but will Edd be?" With that said, the Feral Mutant went to get suited up, Peter exiting the mansion and entering Edd's truck, his best suit is at the apartment. He knew what the X-Men were doing, but he knew one thing. Edd wasn't fighting that monster alone.
In New York, Thor was barely able to stand. The monster they've been fighting for the last hour or so has taken out every Avenger in the area, along with the returning Captain Marvel and the Guardians of the Galaxy. He was the last one conscience. He was also confused by this fight, no matter how hard they hit it, the only thing that has really hurt this beast was the might of Mjiolnir.
The only issue is that it's moving fast enough to hit him before he can strike with the hammer.
His condition wasn't that well either. He had a broken arm and almost all his ribs either broken or cracked. How he even had the strength to stand, let alone fight, was a testament to Asgardian stubbornness. Especially within his family. "Have at thee, beast," Thor challenged as he steadied himself, hammer at the ready as it charged up with lightning.
The monster's response was a beastial roar as it then charged Thor.
As the monster was about to nail him, a large black blur crashed into it, sending it crashing into the building. Thor looked up to see that it was in fact his son. Stormwolf stood over his father protectively as he snarled savagely at the unknown beast.
The monster recovered and saw it's newest opponent and charged right at him. To it's surprise though, it was the monster that got sent flying through a building. Once it was far enough, Edd looked down at Thor.
"Dad... are you alright," Edd asked, but he already knew the answer.
Thor laughed before coughing up a bit of blood. "I've had better days, son, but I'll recover." The God of Thunder tried to get up, only for Edd to stop him.
"The X-Men will be here soon, father. They'll get you and the rest of the Avengers, along with any civilians to safety while I take care of this monstrosity." With that said, the Beast of the Storm stalked forward towards his newfound opponent, leaving Thor leaning against a broken car.
"Go get him, my son," Thor said as he let himself drift into an unsteady unconsciousness.
With the monster, it was just trying to pick itself up when a very powerful kick to the head sent it back down. "Get up," a voice demanded.
The monster looked up and saw Stormwolf glaring down at him, snarling like a rabid dog. "You want something to fight," the werewolf snarled, "let's fight!"
Then the two brutes charged at each other, with Stormwolf moving quicker and uppercutting the bigger beast. Then lightning came crashing from the sky and struck at the spiked monster, making it call out in pain. Then it was grabbed and was sent crashing via a German suplex. Then it was hit by a lightning infused fist to the skull, forcing the skull of the monster into the ground.
"This the best you can do," the angered werewolf asked as he cracked his knuckles. "Because I'm not even trying ya jackass."
The monster then looked up, eyes glowing as it then blasted him with heat vision, sending Edd crashing towards across the street and into a building. To the monster's surprise, Stormwolf just smirked as his healing factor fixed the burns. "Now that's more like it." Without another word, but instead a beastial roar, Stormwolf charged. The monster charging as well, and when they collided, a sonic boom was heard and felt, as well as the small hurricane that was beginning to grow.
Meanwhile the X-Men had just arrived to the scene, and they immediately got to work. Fortunately, most of the civilians had been evacuated earlier by the Avengers themselves, so it was just them and the Guardians that needed evacuating.
Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America was one of the few who were still conscious as Logan helped him over to the jet. "You took a beating did you, Cap?"
"That monster, it's skin was impenetrable, it took half the team out in seconds," the super soldier said as he winced in pain and looked around. "Where is it?"
"Edd's facing it," Logan said grimly, "Thor barely survived it, so I'm not sure how good of a chance he has."
"You let him face it alone," Steve asked.
Logan shook his head. "He took off before anyone had the chance to stop him. He hasn't had a good day and then sees his dad get nearly beaten to death, can't say I blame him." Logan then stood up as he let his claws out. "Still, ain't gonna stop me from kicking his ass when I find him."
"You better get their quick," Steve said to him.
Logan nodded. He then exited the jet, just to notice Peter web slinging overhead with a black suit with a glowing yellow spider logo. "Guess I'm not the only one, huh webhead," Logan said before running down the street, tracking down the two fighters with his sense of smell.
Though he was unaware that him and Peter weren't the only ones trying to get to Edd.
Back with the werewolf/Asgardian hybrid, he was just climbing out of the subway the he and the monster just went through. He cracked his back and shoulders as he regained his footing. Then he waited for it to climb out, or blast out from under him, whichever came first.
Edd didn't really give a damn.
Then his senses and reflexes were pushed to the limit as the beast burst out from under him, just as quick as he managed to leap out of the way and unleash a barrage of lightning bolts on the monster. It was momentarily stunned until it got a slash to the eye, blinding it in its right eye. It then snapped as it began to just swing it's fists, getting a lucky hit on Stormwolf and proceeded to beat him faster than the healing factor could act.
Then all of the suddenly, the monster punched him so hard that it punctured the skull of Edd, making him yelp in pain as instinct took over and he sent the monster flying back with a lightning infused punch to the chest. Stormwolf slowly got to his feet, but the monster then charged back on to begin pummeling them into the skull again, leaving the werewolf bleeding out of the skull profusely.
The beast then kicked him and sent him through the side of a building. Edd tried to regain his footing but a large blast of heat vision sent him crashing through the rest of the building. The Wolf of Lightning had once again began to regain his footing, and growled once the monster landed infront of him. With a sudden burst of adrenaline, he charged and grabbed the monster and slammed him the rest of the way through the building, causing to collapse on top of the both of them.
Meanwhile, Peter, who was in his black and yellow Omega Iron Spider Armor, was swinging through the city, trying to keep up with the fight. The two were moving so fast that he couldn't keep up. That's when he saw the smoke in the sky, along with an entire building.
"I guess that's where they're at right now," the web-slinger said as he then turned and made his way towards the location the building collapsed.
Back to the fight, Stormwolf was suddenly sent flying out of the rubble and crashed into another wall before falling into the ground. He started to regain his footing while coughing up some blood as the monster got out and started making his way towards him.
"Is that all you got," he asked it as he got to his knees and looked to the beast, his eyes now glowing with lightning, as were the lightning shaped patches on his arms. "Because you haven't seen nothing yet."
Then suddenly a large thunderbolt came crashing from the sky and blasted the monster back. Stormwolf then unleashed another after another and when he finished, his opponent was down on his knees.
Just as Stormwolf was about to summon another powerful lightning bolt, something fast slammed into the beast, stumbling it back. The figure then landed in front of Stormwolf.
It was Peter, and to Edd's surprise, he was draped in his Omega Iron Spider Armor, something Peter said was only to be if there was no other choice. He was currently crouched as he let the spiderlegs come out as well. Stormwolf then slowly started to get up and saw his best friend standing infront of the beast. "Peter, you know if you join this fight... there is no guarantee you'll come out in one piece."
"Cut the shit, Edd, I know that," Peter replied as he quickly dodged the strike of the monster. "That's why I'm wearing this suit."
As if to prove his point, Peter slammed his fist into the side of the monster's face, which was surprisingly powerful enough to stun it, which allowed Stormwolf to send it through several buildings. "We need a plan to get rid of it in case we can't kill it," the son of Thor said as they prepared for it to return.
"The Baxter Building," Peter said after a moment about it.
Edd looked at him. "What about it?"
"Despite the fact you have a restraining order against you there," said the voice of Logan from behind them. The mutant was lucky that the fight managed to get closer to him, God only knows what would happen if it wasn't so.
Peter ignored the comment as he then went to explain. "If we can get it into the lab... we might be able to activate the Negative Zone Transporter. We can atleast trap it in there."
"Take Logan and get it ready," Edd said, and then continued when he saw the look on Logan. "We need it to focus on one target to lure it, and once we get it inside, we go all out on it."
Logan smirked. "Sounds like a plan, bub. Let's go webhead."
"Alrighty, wolvie," Spider-Man said as he grabbed Logan and swung towards the building in question. This left Stormwolf to think, how is he gonna get it inside?
He would've thought further when a feminine primal scream didn't take his attention. He knew who it was, and despite earlier, he was still extremely protective of her. "No," he said as he rushed forward, his eyes losing their gold and turning a very dark blue.
Laura didn't expect to run into just the monster itself, but she unfortunately did. As well as blindly rush in, jumped onto it's back and started stabbing it with her adamantium claws, which caused it to roar out in pain before grabbing her. It then threw her on the ground and stomped dead on her back, causing her to let out a beastial cry of pain.
"Get away from her!" Stormwolf roared out as he then unleashed his full power in one punch, cracking the concrete around him while sending the monster into the sky, possibly with a broken skull.
Once it was out of sight, Edd turned normal and bent down to look over Laura. "Laura, Laura, come on wake up."
"I'm sorry," he heard her barely get out, tearing up, "I-I shouldn't have did it..."
Edd nodded. "Yeah, you should never attack a giant Hulk like beast on your own, especially if it-"
"That's not what I talking about," Laura said as she placed a hand on Edd's arm. This made the son of Thor's eyes widen as he realized what she was meaning.
He then slowly nodded as he then spoke again. "Yeah I know you shouldn't of," Edd said before he picked her up bridal style, "at least you admitted it. I'm not saying I forgive you though, that's way to soon, but I guess helping me buy a few seconds is a start." He hated having to be mad, he really did, but she did bring it upon herself, at least she also thinks that. It could mean possibly fixing the issues that caused her to do what she did
"I would've... I would've said yes," she blurted out. This made Edd pause, despite all the mayhem, and looked at her.
"What?"
She then pulled the very same diamond encrusted ring with lightning spewing in it out of her pocket that he thought he crushed. He looked at it in shock. "If... if I wasn't so s-s-stupid, I would be future Ms. Thorson right now."
"You could still be," Edd admitted as he sat her in an alley. "But it's gonna be one hell of a talk, and quite a few drinks, but... but if it never happens again, I might forgive you."
He then kissed her for what he didn't know was possibly the last time, he knew he shouldn't, but he didn't care. He loved her to much. He then stood up and began to walk to the edge of the alley, turning back into Stormwolf. He then looked at her over his shoulder. "For all it's worth, Laura, I will always love you."
And just like that, he took off towards the Baxter Building, leaving Laura to silently reply right as her healing factor kicking in, a stray tear going down her face. "I love you too."
Stormwolf landed on the roof of the Baxter Building as he looked up and saw that the monster was actually coming down. "Well shit." He then howled, getting it's attention hopefully as he began to punch through the floor levels of the building until he found Logan. "It should be coming."
They then heard a beastial roar from above them and they took off to the lab. "Peter, hurry the hell up and get that thing set up," Edd said as him and Logan ran in.
Logan agreed as he got ready for the final fight as his claws unsheathed. "He'll be here at any moment, bub."
"I'm typing as fast as I can," Peter said as he kept typing commands. "Please work for me, pleeeeaaasse." That's when the portal activated. "Yes!"
Then the beast, with an even more deformed head, crashed in with a big boom. "Shit!" Logan said as the beast tackled Stormwolf as The Wolverine leaped on the monster's back and began stabbing into the back of the next and parts where it should be fatal.
"Karen," Spider-Man said as he stared at the fight, "activate instant kill mode." That's when the suits yellow glow turned red and Peter attacked as well, the vibranium spider legs coming out of his back and stabbing into the beast as well as all three heroes did their best to herd the monster towards the portal. Though then a lazy back hand from the beast sent Spidey crashing into the side of the portal, with Wolverine not far behind him.
It then went for a over head blow, but Stormwolf with lightning infused fists held them up to block. The impact caused a mini shockwave. While the blast happened, a stray lightning bolt hit the Zone just as it opened and caused a massive explosion, as well as suck the three heroes and monster in, before it exploded again, this time causing the entire lab to explode.
Minutes later, Laura, who had recovered and saw the explosion from outside had managed to make it to what was atleast left of the lab. She tried to find any sign of anything, but she already knew the truth... she just didn't want to admit it.
She lost her father, she lost one of her best friends, and most importantly, she lost her love. She... she couldn't believe it. They all three were gone... just like that. She couldn't take it anymore, and as much as she hated to cry, something she had seemingly gotten use to on this day, she sank to her knees.
By the time the rest of the X-Men, Steve, and a recently recovered Thor managed to arrive, all they could see was Laura on her knees, bawling her eyes out as she was facing at a broken Negative Zone transporter. They then quickly put two and two together and one by one, the mutants and the Captain bowed their heads in a moment of silence.
Thor though, was in as much sorrow as the young woman on the ground. Today... today he had lost his son, a storm began to form over the building. The God of Thunder could only think that he had failed his son's mother in keeping the boy alive. That he failed as a father to protect him, and now, now he will never see him again.
Little does everyone know, is that they're alive, but it's just gonna get weirder for the trio from here on out.
So Edd, Peter, and Logan had been sent away along with Doomsday. Where will they go, we all know where. Laura and Thor will obviously be hit the hardest when it comes to Edd, and for Laura, Logan aswell. There will be a few for Peter as well, but not as much as Logan and Edd, mainly due to the after effects of Superior Spider-Man.
Also, I decided that Laura will be one of the three women in the Stormwolf harem for this story, just liked adding the drama. So that leaves Logan with a DC woman and Peter to find someone in both Marvel and DC universe.
Next chapter is the final part of Stormwolf versus Doomsday, but this time there will be no interference. Doomsday will learn that the devil doesn't control fire, but in truth, he is the master of lightning.
Don't forget to review and check out my other stories. Peace Out.
