Chapter 2: Introductions
Ryder was slightly concerned, as Scott still hadn't shown up. It had been close to two hours. Not like he should be worried, but still he did. He pulled out his pup pad and called out "PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!"
"Ryder needs us!" The pups yelled out in excitement. They began to run into the Lookout. Marshall, on the other hand, had tripped and landed on a skateboard. Classic. The rest of the PAW Patrol was in the elevator by this time, and as per usual, Marshall has lagged behind. "Marshall, watch out!" Chase yelled. And again, Marshall ended up hitting a big bouncy ball and flying into the elevator. Now, he didn't make a joke or one of his terrible puns. Here's why.
For about the past month or so, the pups had been maturing more and more. Maturity had been hitting them hard. Like very hard. Not like they couldn't handle it, but it was a hard situation for them all. On the plus side though, Everest had moved in with them, so she was more readily available. And Ryder had begun to train her as a backup EMT, just in case Marshall was injured or wasn't available. Tracker was still out with Carlos in the jungle, so he wasn't around much. So things had changed.

Ryder was currently waiting for the pups to get in their uniforms. He had liked that Jake allowed Everest to move into the Lookout, so long as she helped out during the winter on the mountain with the tourists. Plus, it was nice having her around.
By the time this train of thought was over, the pups were already dressed and were hopping out of the elevator. Jeez, they were fast. That was one of the things he admired about them.
"PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder sir!" Chase called out.
"Thanks for coming so quickly, pups. Now, you're probably wondering what today's mission is." The pups all nodded. "Well, there actually is no emergency today." The entirety of the team, minus Ryder, looked very confused. "If there is no emergency, Ryder, then why were we called up here?" Everest asked. Everyone else nodded.
"Well, you have to wait until our guest gets here." The pups looked among each other excitedly. They never had guests, so the thought of one visiting was very exciting to them. Ryder was excited to, but nervous. He hadn't seen his brother in four years, being eight when Scott left. What would he be like? Like Mom? Dad? Or would he be a person who's PTSD was so bad that he'd wake up screaming in the middle of the night, brandishing a pistol?
"Snap out of it, Ryder," A little voice told him in the back of his head. "He was very nice when you first reached out. Heck, he sounded like a kid when their parents got them the big Christmas present they wanted. He'll be fine. You got nothing to worry about." Ryder nodded, and whispered "You got this. He'll be fine."
Chase broke his thoughts. "Ryder, when are they going to get here?" Ryder responded. "He said he'd be here in an hour or so, but then he mentioned the traffic. So I have no idea." Right as he said that, they all heard a truck pull up, with a song playing very loudly. It was Breaking Benjamin's "Red Cold River." It was one of his brothers favorite bands. "I believe he is here." The pups all howled in excitement, and all went down the slide, Ryder going down with them.
Scott, one the other hand, was trying to get his shit out of his truck. He had brought a crap ton, since his commander had told him and the others to take a good year's leave. Why a year, he had no idea, but it's not like he was complaining. That was plenty of time. So he basically brought that he could fit into his truck and a small apartment. He was going to be right at home here.
By the time he was done thinking about this, the PAW Patrol was upon him. At least, they had been there for about three minutes. He stood up after grabbing one of his duffle bags, and then turned toward them.
"HI!" Rubble yelled excitedly.
"Holy-," he cursed a couple of times in what sounded like German. After recovering from the surprise, he looked up again. "Dear gods. Are ya trying to kill me from shock?" The pups laughed. Ryder chuckled a bit. "Didn't expect you to be so late, Scott." The man laughed. "Traffic and idiots. Two things I hate beyond all belief, and two things that should not exist." He chuckled again. "But yeah, sorry about that. Now then, am I getting any help? Or am I forced to carry this all by my lonesome?," he said, holding out one of his bags. Ryder grabbed it, then almost collapsed. "What did you bring?" Scott laughed heartily. "Oh, ya know, just enough to last me a year here." The pups and Ryder then noticed that a slight Scottish accent had become noticeable in his voice.
"Anyway, can ya show me to my room? Kinda need to know where to put my shite." Ryder looked at his brother, giving him a look of "you need to stop cursing." Not that Scott really cared. But he did stop. They went upstairs, while the pups stayed downstairs, talking about their new guest, and what they thought he would be like, based on their first impression of him. They hoped he was a nice and fun man. At least, most of them did.
"He looks military." He had stated. "Maybe how he acted outside was just how he acts when he meets new people. Maybe he's a really strict, no nonsense kind of person."
Boy, how wrong he was.

Oi, people. Here's the next chapter, so I hope y'all enjoy it. So, the next chapter will be the same basis as the last chapter 2 I wrote for the old version, so expect that. Um… Chase will be slightly OOC at first, but will change, maybe, I don't know, don't take my word for it.
Also, if any of ya people have a OC to submit, you have until chapter 4 is released. I already have one guy, and another who said he had one, but hasn't submitted. You know who you are. To be more clear, I will only be accepting one more, so be haisty if you have to. Other than that, see y'all later. I have to go to Hell again. Demons don't kill themselves, right?
Until next time, the Slayer is OUT to Hell!
