Chapter 2

The Raptor, the Rex, and the Shark

1987

The T-Rex roared. Battling another T-Rex, they butted heads. They repeated again. Then one roared. She charged. The other one attempted to block. They were in a pushing battle. However, the one closer to the water was falling back. Desperate for a chance, she roared and butted again. That stopped the other Rex to stop pushing her, but looks can be deceiving.

While this battle was going on, a pack of Velociraptors, six, saw the two. If they could gain up on them, they could have a huge meal. But maybe they should wait for one to defeat the other. Taking on one T-Rex is hard enough, let alone two.

And as the second Rex was at the water, a mysterious force grabbed her. The first T-Rex was not going to let her meal go. She bit the second's head. She pulled with all her strength, and seemed to be winning.

Meanwhile, the Raptors were closing in. If the T-Rex didn't notice them, they might have an easy meal. However, one Raptor stepped on a stick. The Rex turned around, and the other one drowned (sheer poetry!). The Rex charged. All Raptors dodged. Roaring, a Raptor jumped the Rex. The Rex attempted to bite, but failed. More jumped on. All failed to bite each other. One bit the Rex's tail. She was not happy, and tried to kill her. The Raptors saw something, and ceased immediately. The Rex was shocked, but then killed a Raptor. The Raptors pointed behind the Rex. The Rex looked. She saw nothing. Thinking it was a trap, she snarled. Then, she heard a splash. She looked. The biggest shark she had ever seen jumped out. The Rex tripped. Next to the Velociraptors. Not a good sign.

Instead of killing her, the Raptors attempted to make a deal. The Big One came out and showed a stick that looked like a shark.

"Ruh, ruh! Ruh!" she said, which translated to,

"In our sheer numbers, we will overcome the shark! Here's the plan!"

She showed the shark, then 5 stones (the Raptors) and a big bone (the T-Rex).

"Ruuuuggghhh. *SNIFF*."

"Alright, here are the phases."

Everyone payed attention.

"Here you go." The Raptor said to Attention.

"Thank you for the dollar." Attention said.

"That is not a literal statement."

"Oh."

"OK, this should get you up to code." The Big One said. In Raptor language, of course. "Phase one: we enlist the help of every dinosaur we can find. That shark is huge, but maybe just one more dino should do it."

"Better make it three. The shark took by frenemy." Rexy said.

Yes, that same T-Rex that escaped from her pen.

"'Frenemy'?"

Remember, they are actually roaring. But I like this talking.

"A friend and enemy."

"Ok… phase 2: We get the Mosasauruses to surround the shark. And then they eat him. Phase 3: There is no phase 3. It's that easy."

"No, it's not. For one, Mosasaurus will eat even Brachiosaurus. And two, other Velociraptor will be hard to tame. This is a hard plan to follow."

"Well, we're gonna have too. Look."

Rexy did.

And what she saw was crazy.

The dead Velociraptor was being eaten by the shark.

"RRRAAAGGGHHHHRRRRGGG!"

Shark's menace.

Time to go.

My father died. Killed by those insignificant humans. Well, these dinos are easy prey. OK, not really, but if I kill them, I can show that I can be a world force. I will be recognized by humans, John Hammond, the FBI, Nintendo, InGen, Disney, Star Wars, DC, Marvel…you know the drill.
