Lucy had finally finished her novel.

After working on it continuously on her off time (which admittedly, she didn't have much of these days) it was finally finished. She had Levy pick at it, help her edit it and tweak it a bit and now she was anxiously waiting on the word that her book was going to be published. Her life dream of finally completing a book happened, and now her second life dream of becoming published could be a reality.

She was secretly hoping that this book would help her become a full-time writer. While she loves the miss-adventures that came with being a wizard, writing was her passion. It was something that helped her cope with the hardships of her life. While she would still go on a few jobs, not wanting her Spirits to grow angst-y with nothing to do (not that they would complain, honestly. It was more so that Lucy could have a bit of a writing break – even if that was to the expense of going on a few jobs). It wasn't like her team would allow her to just sit idle either. If she got published and her book skyrocketed – or at least, she made enough to work part time as a wizard – she wouldn't mind so much her teams tendency to destroy everything in their wake.

Currently she was sitting at the bar, idly stirring her drink with her straw as she stared out of the guilds doors. She was supposed to get the word any day now that her book was publishable or not, and she was nervous. This was something she's wanted for a long time and she so hoped that her book was worth it.

"Lucy, are you okay?" A sweet voice asked, jolting the blonde out of her reverie. She glanced over at the platinum blonde barmaid who was watching her with a worried glance.

Lucy gave Mira a beaming smile. "I'm fine, Mira. Just nervous," she took a long sip of her milkshake, loving the feel and taste of the strawberry goodness.

Mira raised an inquisitive eyebrow at her. "Nervous?" She asked, intrigued as she stopped doing what she was doing. The bar had slowed down a little bit and when Mira saw Lucy down here by herself, she had to come investigate. It was rare to see the blonde without a member of Team Natsu.

The blonde Celestial Mage sighed as she bit her lip. "I sent my book to my publisher last week," she admitted lowly, not wanting the rest of the guild to hear. It wasn't a secret that she was writing a book. Natsu's big mouth had already told everyone after he overheard her talking to Levy about it. Just not many people were interested in reading besides her, Levy and Freed. Her team tried to be more optimistic about it, and Erza enjoyed reading erotica (she had threatened her life if she told anyone else about that). She just didn't want anyone to get too excited about her book maybe going viral.

"I'm sure it'll be great, Lucy," Mira told her warmly, her eyes bright at the information. "What's gotten you so nervous about it?" Lucy had the tendency to be overly critical about herself. She was a great wizard, and Mira knew that was another thing that Lucy was self-conscious over. Her magic was beautiful, and Mira had witnessed her fight before and she did an exceptional job. So Mira knew Lucy was just being overly critical and worrying over nothing.

"Just… what if it's not good enough?" That was her big worry. She knew what she wrote was great. She's worked on it non-stop since it was finished to be able to send it out. Lucy just wanted people to like it.

Mira gave her a soft smile. "Lucy, I'm sure it's amazing. Do you know how much Levy gushed about it after you let her read it?" Lucy ducked, blushing at that comment making Mira chuckle at her fondly. "It might not look like it, but Levy is a hard critique when it comes to books. You can imagine why." The blue-haired girl would spend hours reading if she didn't have to pay rent and actually work. Unlike Lucy, Levy didn't write. She loved to read – and can translate anything at a dime. She was more of a critique then anything else. "You just got to believe in yourself and know you'll go far. Writing is something you love to do and you know you're good at. So just believe that it'll get the reception you want it to receive."

If only it were that easy, Lucy though dryly. Though Mira was right – if there was one thing she was confident in, it was her ability to write. So with that thought in mind she sat up straight and gave Mira a beaming smile. "Thanks Mira." And with newfound confidence in her heart, she knew that she would be alright.

AN: So yeah, another cute little one-shot about our favorite Celestial Mage! 800 odd-some words ending and I am thrilled. I think it would be fun to write an AU where Lucy is an Author, Levy is a book critique along with Freed, maybe? XD Or Freed can be a publisher. All the possibilities with this AU :O

Anyway, let me know in the comments what you thought! 3
