As the man kept walking back to the only place left, he couldn't help but remember all the happy memories he had, all the wonderful time that he spent in the wretched camp. Camp Half-blood. It made him shake with sadness and anger, the place he once called home, the place that had adopted him and gave him something to come back to after every quest he did. And yet he still could not forget the pain he felt towards that one fateful day.
One week before…
He had finally returned from his battle with Gaia. So many people had perished from her hands. The Stolls, Katie Gardener, Chris Rodriguez, and Malcom, and Will Solace to name a few. He felt like a worthless piece of shit after the battle. He felt himself responsible for all their deaths. So much so he refused to talk to anyone for the week after the events of the war. The only people he socialized with were his friends from the Argo ll and the goddess of the hearth, Hestia. The goddess had become fond of the boy recently. She felt that he was a boy worthy of all he received and more. He was humble, caring, honest, and just a happy person, who seemed to haven't a care in the world. These traits were all the goddess wanted in a person, and perhaps something she missed dearly from the young demigods of the past and the gods too. But as far as she could tell, her brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces had all become corrupt and self-centered. The only people she could tolerate were her brother Hades, her nephew Artemis, as she had never been anything but nice to her aunt, and her nephew Hephaestus had all been good at fulfilling their jobs as gods of their respective domains. So as she looked down on the boy from her hearth at Olympus, she felt a strange attraction toward the young man. Something she had never felt for anyone. Love. And it was easy to see why. After all he was strikingly handsome. Chiseled face, muscular, lean, tan body and a fairly high 6'8 height. It wasn't a hard enigma to see why the man had always been persued by most goddesses and demigods. She buried those feelings down, though, as the man already had a girlfriend, and they were a perfect match for each other. If only she knew….
For now though, the man was sad and guilty, but still happy that, through and through, his girlfriend would always be by his side. Little did he know….
Line Break
The Seven had finally arrived at Olympus… and were immediately blindsight by a horde of minor gods, nymphs, dryads, satyrs, and demigods alike. They spent the next hour and a half talking to people constantly congratulating them. In the end, they felt tired so they simply slipped away silently.
They kept walking until they encountered the massive door leading to the Olympian Council Room. The 5 of the seven were amazed at the beauty the city and especially the main building had, but Percy and Annabeth Chase were already used to looking at it, but were still marveled. It was a chore but eventually they managed to open the doors, courtesy of Franks powers to transform into huge animals. Needless to say when they walked in, the gods were confused to see an African Elephant with a group of 5 demigods with them. The Seven walked over to their respective parents throne.
"The meeting is now in order!" Zeus boomed. Fitting, he always had a flair for the dramatic.
"Just get it over with, I have important errands to do." Dionysus said, clearly deathly bored.
"Shut your mouth, your insolent wine god, these heroes are here after a grueling battle which you had no part in, you lazy fat-ass." Artemis yelled, clearly done with the bullshit the god had created for the last couple millennia.
"SILENCE!" Zeus yelled. "These heroes deserve all the praise they can get. They defended Olympus and they shall receive the best rewards us gods can offer." Zeus said, grudgingly. Of course he had no problem with the majority of them, they had saved Olympus and his crown. No, he was annoyed that no good Percy Jackson had still survived. The boy had become too powerful. He almost single-handedly defeated Gaia, a primordial being! If the boy could take on titans and primordials, what's to say he won't just kill a god? Zeus was clearly paranoid, but he was too blindsighted by lust for power that he didn't even realize that Percy Jackson had never, not once in his 7 years of being a demigod, had even conceived the thought of overthrowing Olympus's king, even though he was in the very power to do so.
"JASON GRACE!" Zeus exclaimed. Jason nervously stood up and got on one knee. "My son, for your bravery and honor, we have decided to make you a god!" Jason was shocked (see what I did there?) to say the least. He looked back to Piper and saw the worry in her eyes. He didn't want to spend a life without her. She was his everything. "I decline, father." Jason said. Piper visibly relaxed, comforted by knowing her lover was not to leave her. "Well my boy, you must have something! What else could you want?" Zeus questioned, worried his son might turn into another Percy. "Well father, could you make us both immortal? That way at least we can be together forever." Jason said."Of course, my son. We shall make you both immortal.
The ceremony continued like this for another hour. Hazel and Frank decided they would be better off without their curses, rather than full immortality. They preferred a peaceful life in Canada.
"ANNABETH CHASE!" Athena yelled. Annabeth stepped up, confident of what she wanted.
"Daughter, you have shown valiant courage and determination the last few years. From the quests with Perseus, to the battles with Gaia and her minions. For this we wish to grant you godhood."
"I accept mother!" Annabeth exclaimed, with not a doubt or worry. Little did she know the implications of those three words to a certain someone.
"Annabeth, why?" Percy croaked. Sadly, no one heard him. Did she not know him by now? After 2 years of being together, did she seriously not know that Percy cared not for godhood? No, she knew and still her pride won her over. She wanted to be more than just a demigod. She wanted power, and the ability to live forever. She couldn't care less for Percy at that moment, and that crushed him. She was his anchor to the mortal world. She was his everything. The reason he kept fighting. The sole person that got him through the depths of Tartarus. And she just blew him off, just like that.
Something had snapped him the young boy. The fine walls of pure joy he had were crumbling, and out came something which was more dangerous than the gods thought. Anger and hatred. The very emotions that would bring the gods down to the Realm of the Faded.
For now though, he was just heartbroken and sad. As he was reminiscing on his happy memories, things that would never again bring him joy, he didn't notice a certain goddess looking at him from the flames in the back of the room. She saw the mirth go out in his eyes, now carrying a dark weight and overwhelming pain. As she was the goddess of hope, she knew what was going on in his mind, and the thought of it angered her. That was surprising as no one had ever made her angrier than that ignorant and malicious newly made goddess.
"PERSEUS JACKSON!" Zeus boomed, silencing everything present in the room. "For your heroic actions in the war, we have decided on the ultimate prize: A seat on the Olympian Council!" Zeus announced. Everyone but Perseus was stunned. A new member of the Olympian council? That hadn't happened in almost 3000 years! And Zeus knew this. He knew that, even if he didn't want to admit it, Percy Jackson was worthy of such a thing.
"No" Percy said quiet but steady.
"No?NO?! You will not refused this gift, you have done it once, you will not again!" Zeus ordered, red faced and mad that this mortal refused such a generous gift.
"Yeah I said it, but I would like a gift in exchange." Percy offered.
"As long as it's within our power, fine." Zeus begrudgingly said.
"I wish for Hades and Hestia's thrones to be returned to them. And for Calypso and Leto to be freed, again." Percy stated, putting as much venom into again as possible.
Zeus snapped his fingered and out popped two thrones, a dark yet beautiful black throne embroidered with jewels and skulls, a perfect balance between beauty and horror. The second seemed to be made of fire, but it was more of a warm glow and gave off a perfect amount of heat. Clearly the thrones of Hades and Hestia.
Before Percy could even look at them, he was tackled by Hestia, who had tears in her eyes. This man had finally acknowledged her and gave her a throne to sit on, a symbol of power. She was so happy she did not even notice the strange looks she was getting from everyone in the room. That was, until she notice she was hugging Perseus in front of everyone. She blushed furiously and walked over to the fire throne.
"Well, now that that is over, we shall hold a celebration, to Olympus!" Zeus yelled. Everyone repeated and went off to the now ongoing party outside.
