Pain.
It had been a long time since he felt pain.
After he became a ghost, he forgot what pain felt like.
The ache of muscles, soreness of joints, throbbing headache. They were a fleeting memory to him.
It felt good to have those sensation back–?
What? What happened? He was confused. As a ghost he shouldn't be feeling any pain. So what happened? The last thing he remembered before darkness overtook him was the falling figure of the boy and the suction force.
Opening his groggy eyes, he saw a white ceiling although a little blurry.
Mustering all his strength he turned his head sideways toward his right.
It was chubby women with round face and green hair who was sitting on a chair, her chin resting on her shoulder, sleeping.
She stirred at the little sounds the friction of clothes fabric.
The messy haired boy. He could clearly see the resemblance between the that boy and the chubby woman.
"Wh..er..e..?" He asked, voice laced with pain and confusion.
His voice was low, but it was enough for the worry ridden mother to jolt awaken.
Tears dripping slowly, as Inko Midoriya looked at her only beloved son. Myriads of emotion flashed through her mind but happiness was the most prominent. She was so happy that her son finally woke. She wanted to say many things, but words never came out of her mouth as if her jaws were locked.
"I-Izuku son," she finally croaked out two little words.
Is she referring to me? He looked at the crying woman, confused and a little weirded out.
The last week had been long and confusing for Ishiko. After being a ghost for so long, Ishiko had a hard time adjusting to a new body.
But it wasn't the hardest part of the last week.
Ishiko didn't want to lie to Inko Midoriya, he wanted to tell her that her son died and he wasn't her son but whenever he saw her he couldn't bring himself to say "Miss, I am not your son, your son died."
He knew it would completely devastate the single mother.
So he thought, maybe he could cherish the chance he got. Maybe he would get to experience the love of a mother he never had.
It was both selfish and selfless at the same time.
After he got cleared by the psychiatrist that he didn't have any suicidal tendency, he was allowed to go home.
Aside from adjusting to his new body, Ishiko also discovered that he still had his old quirk, Intent Sense, aside from the fact that now he could switch on and off his quirk simply by willing it to be.
It was Inko, his new mother, on whom he tried his quirk first and that was also the reason he didn't say the truth to her.
When he used his quirk on his mother, the feedback almost overloaded his brain, it was far more intense than he remembered.
The overwhelming guilt, shame and sorrow mixed with sprinkle of happiness.
He could guess the reason. He wanted to wash away her worry but never did he imagine that uttering a few simple words would have such profound effect on her.
"Mom."
"Yes, son?"
"I am sorry, I was so foolish."
"No problem, son."
"I will never leave you again."
The dam that was holding about five years worth of grief broke down. Inko Midoriya cried that day.
Ishiko was baffled, he didn't know how to console her. He was her son at the same time not.
Fortunately it was just one night. The next day was relatively normal.
Looking at all the posters and action figures of All Might in his room, Ishiko sighed.
I know that All Might is one of the greatest hero, if not the greatest but this is too much. He admired All Might but he wasn't a fanatic.
Looking through his things, he found a half burned diary titled "Hero Analysis" and read.
He was amazed after reading first few pages.
I was wrong. Izuku might've been a otaku for All Might but his notes on hero's quirks, guesses on how it worked, how it could be used efficiently and also how to counter them, they are amazing deatiled. He thought as he kept reading.
It's a treasure trove for villains, I suppose. He put down the diary. He had a thoughtful expression on his face which soon turned into a frown.
Eri. He thought as he closed his eyes. His face was tranquil, not a single twitch of muscle, steady breath.
Moments later, a bizarre scene occured. His figure blurred as it slowly turned translucent but it was not the end, his body rose a little in the air as if newton's gravity didn't work on him and then his already translucent body started becoming more transparent until nothing could be seen.
He turned invisible.
A week after his release from the hospital, he started experiementing with his quirk. He had a feeling that it was much more capable than what he thought previously.
And that bore result. He could turn himself into a ghost invisible to others.
But this time it was different. He could touch things if he wished to. It was a nice change to have.
Then he started training himself, which was mostly getting used to the new effects of his quirk and gauging the time limit of his quirk usage before it started showing side-effects, which he found none. The last year being a ghost might have been a blessing in disguise, he came to a logical conclusion.
Time to complete my promise.
He then floated and looked outside the window. Waiting for a few moment, he glided and phased through the glass panel.
