As soon as class ended, Noroi got up in a hurry and slipped out, lingering until Aishi-San left as well. She was a little conflicted, wanting to follow the girl, just as she was following the two ginger girls, yet knowing that she wasn't ready. In order to stalk Aishi-San, she needed to be prepared properly...
Running to her locker, she grabbed the bag she had hastily stuffed in there earlier, then had to hunt for Aishi-San again. She ran through the whole school, becoming more and more frustrated, until she arrived on the rooftop.
On a bench to one side, the two orange-haired girls sat, eating bentos, with a dark haired boy. Aishi watched them from behind a wall.
So, Noroi thought to herself, he must be her 'Senpai'... Meaning the girls were in danger. It being the start of the year, she could only hope she was in time, and these were the first potential victims Aishi had identified. Because she knew how this would end if she wasn't there. All her research had pointed her towards the deaths of the infamous Aishi case, back in the eighties.
It had told her everything she needed to know. Ayano Aishi was dangerous. Something had to be done about her. She reached for her bag, knowing that, if she could corner Aishi alone, the knife in it would soon take of her. She hated the idea of murder, but there was such a thing as the greater good.
Before she could draw her weapon, though, she froze in horror. All her fingers had found was a hole. Hastily, she put her bag down and rummaged through it, checking she hadn't lost anything. It was a relief to find her research papers and her knife were still there.
But something far more vital was missing. She wasn't sure why she'd brought them with her in the first place. A reminder, perhaps, of why she was doing this. But now they were gone.
She had to find them before Aishi did. If she knew... Then it was far less likely that Noroi would be able to stop her. At least, that she would be able to do so without a fight. A fight to the death.
As she knelt on the ground, hunting desperately for her missing items, a shadow fell over her. "Are you alright?"
Looking up, she was blinded by light and brilliant, saturated colours. The sun was shining brightly over head, after all. At least, that's what she reassured herself the problem was, as she blinked and shielded her eyes. "I'm okay... Thanks for asking, though," She replied as the young man looked down at her in concern.
"Oh, no problem! If you're alright though, we'd better get to class, lunchtime is nearly over," He told her, holding out his hand to help her up.
Noroi sighed. Well, she should have known this would happen. You can't run from what you are, after all. She just had to hope she had the self-control to stop this getting in the way of her mission.
She took his hand and let him help her to her feet, feeling lightheaded already. "Thanks..." She muttered, somewhat grudingly.
"Again, it's not a problem. I like to help out the new students. You are new here, aren't you?"
She nodded, "I just transferred to second year," She revealed.
"Ah," He nodded as well, "I'm a third year, so I tend to notice new faces around here."
They continued to walk in silence until he reached his classroom and bid her farewell, ducking inside. She checked the time and ran to her own class, her head full of confused, chaotic thoughts.
