Chapter Two. Normal Life Upended
Usagi met with her lover Mamoru Chiba at the streets.
"Hello, Mamo!" Usagi greeted the young man.
"Usako."
The couple walked over to a nearby cafe, that would be the start of their date.
"So it has been a full year now since the final battle and now we are together." Usagi stated.
"That is right." Mamoru replied, "I will be the one to admit it, but I find it hard to believe that we can now be together, without the past life intervening."
"I know. I am in such delight."
"I'm glad. It's kinda strange that things are normal now."
"What's so wrong with that?"
"Nothing."
"I see, but you act like you have some strange feeling that you aren't letting on."
"It's nothing for you to worry about. I wouldn't want you to worry. Not on this day anyway."
"You're right!" Usagi exclaimed, "It's not like any kind of danger will be emerging anytime soon."
Ami Mizuno heard a knock on the door as she was reading a book in the living room. She walked to the door to see Naru Osaka at the door.
"Naru-chan." Ami greeted the girl.
"Hello, Ami-chan." Naru responded.
"Can I help you with something?"
"Have you heard from Usagi-chan lately?"
"Yeah. We talk a few times. Why?"
"Will you be seeing her again soon?"
"Yeah. Why is that?"
"I want you to give her this." Naru gave her a bracelet that was silver in color and the corners that was glittering, "Something to wish her luck with her year long relationship with Chiba Mamoru."
"I will tell Usagi that you gave her that." Ami nodded glancing at the bracelet, "I am sure that she will love it."
"Thanks!" Naru exclaimed, "So, how have you been doing?"
"Good." Ami nodded, "I was only studying a bit. What about you?"
"Not much really. Just studying in hopes to get to high school."
The two hung out for a bit, until a few hours have passed and Naru realized that it was time for her to head home.
"I have to be going." Naru told Ami, "My parents are kind of expecting me home. I will be seeing you."
"See you later, Naru-chan." Ami replied before Naru left, closing the door behind her. That left the young genius back to her book that she returned to reading.
A few minutes later, Ami was startled again as a white orb approached her, and it turned light blue in color. The light came and surrounded her wrist and it turned into something that the young genius thought that she would never see again: the jewelry star bracelet: the thing that would have her transform into Sailor Mercury.
"What does this mean?" Ami asked in confusion.
Rei Hino as the one with mysterious powers since she was a child had been sharpening her skills at a local shrine from some practices she learned from the Kyoto Mountains, painting some words in Japanese before she turned around and candles behind her lit as if like magic.
Suddenly she was startled by something, "Something is about to happen. Something sinister. It is coming sooner than expected."
Rei looked up as she saw a white light approach her. Like before the color changed, but this time, it changed to red in color. The orb then got to her wrist and it turned into her jewelry star bracelet that would have her transform into Sailor Mars.
"What is going on?" Rei asked aloud.
Makoto Kino was at a local ball court was playing basketball with a group of kids. After a few rounds, the girl decided that it was time to return home.
"Well," Makoto told the kids, "it has been fun, but I have to head home. I got some studying I need to do."
The kids replied with comments such as "Bye" and "See you later".
Makoto was heading to her home and she was truly startled upon seeing something that was quite unsettling.
"What the heck?!"
She was alarmed as the color of the strange orb changed from white to green. Seconds later, the green orb approached her wrist and surrounded its target before transforming into her jewelry star bracelet that would transform her into Sailor Jupiter. This took the girl by surprise.
"I thought our time as Sailor Guardians were over." Makoto asked to herself.
Minako Aino walked towards the crowd that was awaiting her, as she was preparing to perform for them.
Makoto walked home to find a white orb waiting for her. She proceeded to sing her hit song "C'est La Vie".
After the mini concert, Minako went backstage and met up with Artemis.
"Hello, Artemis."
"Minako, you okay?" Artemis asked.
"Yeah." the pop singer nodded, "I just have this strange feeling that there may be some new danger. It has seem that our problems are far from over."
"Why do you say that?" Artemis asked, "We haven't had a major threat in over a year now."
"True, but until now, I had no bad feelings, but recently, it seems that something is truly in the air."
"You might be on to something! Look ahead!"
Minako looked up as she saw a white orb approach her. She observed the strange orb as it turned orange in color. Seconds later, it surrounded her wrist and the jewelry star bracelet that transformed her into Sailor Venus appeared on her wrist.
"This must be the Sailor Guardians are needed once again." Minako said quietly.
Luna was playing around in her room in cat like manner as she was a humanoid cat. Her fun would not last for long. She had a strange feeling that someone was calling for her and knew to answer that call.
Appearing before the young humanoid, was Queen Serenity, appearing in gold.
"Queen Serenity?!" Luna was surprised to see her during the daytime, "What is going on here?"
"Luna, something is happening." Queen Serenity informed her, "A danger is coming near that is requiring the Sailor Guardians once again."
"But how are you able to appear in the daytime without the power of the moonlight?" Luna was confused.
"You are about to find out in a mere moment."
"What in the?!" Luna exclaimed as two orbs arrived in her room. One of them turned from white to pink in its color while the other orb remained white in color. The white orb went inside Luna's phone that she would transform into Sailor Luna. The pink orb landed on the table nearby and it transformed into the transformation brooch that would transform Usagi into Sailor Moon.
"What is this?" Luna quipped.
"That is what was behind the blackout all across town the night before." Queen Serenity explained, "A danger will come to the Sailor Guardians as you are called to action once again, but do not worry. You will not be in this battle alone. None of you will."
"What do you mean?" Luna asked.
"There is team in America. They are a group of respected heroes, known as the Defenders of the Earth. Something will happen by chance where you and the Sailor Guardians will meet them, and once you do, they will be very helpful in this danger that is to come. Trust them."
"Defenders of the Earth?" Luna quipped upon hearing the name of the team, "I do believe I have heard about them a few times on the news."
"I must leave you now." Queen Serenity told the humanoid cat, "the power of the orb was only able to let me appear to you in the daytime without the moonlight for a limited time."
With that, the queen vanished. Luna then picked up the brooch, and she knew what she had to do, "I got to find Usagi-chan and give this to her!"
A/N: While there was a special act in the live action series that was set four years after the final battle, I decided to disregard the special. Therefore, this is AU as far as the live action series is concerned.
A/N 2: I'm fully aware based on that special, Queen Serenity only appears by the power of moonlight. The power of the mysterious orb allowed it so that she would be able to appear to Luna for a short amount of time to let her know of the danger to come and that the Sailor Guardians would not be alone in the battle this time, with their help being the Defenders of the Earth! Speaking of which, they will be focused on in the next chapter along with Ming the Merciless and his plans for the Sailor Guardians! Stay tuned! This is about to be one crazy ride!
