Chapter 1 A Dream And A Wish

In the countryside it's the time of year autumn has come and the leaves are changing colour from green to orange, the air is chilly and the sun is shining through the autumn leaves Archie and Atlanta are exploring through the woods collecting fruits and berries on the trees.

A small red mouse named Atlanta way ahead from Archie who is falling slightly behind. "Hey hurry up slowpoke, As she stops to wait for Archie to catch up.

"And who are you calling slowpoke?" As the Archie was struggling to catch his breath.
"Well, maybe if you stop being so brash maybe, you can catch up more," As Atlanta let out a small giggle.

"I'm sorry that I can't keep up your so much faster than me Archie replied.
"Let's go before Theresa wakes up, my goodness she just be hungry." as they both hurried back to the house

Archie a grey mouse he was friends with Atlanta as long as he could remember.

On there way back to the house they see their friend Philippa sitting up in a tree. " Good morning." Archie and Atlanta greeting there bird-like friend

"Well good morning to you two." she greeted them while she stretched her rainbow feathered wings.
"What a beautiful morning." How you two seem nice on a date." as Phillipa grinned.

"DATE!" Archie and Atlanta shouted as they both looked at each other then looked away.
"It's not like that Philipa me and Archie were not dating, besides I'm not in love with anyone".
Archie felt his heart drop. He secretly had feelings for Atlanta for a long time but did not have the words to tell her how he felt.
"We were collecting berries for breakfast especially for Theresa, those wicked sisters bearly give her any food." Archie sighed
"Poor child ever since her father died, That wicked woman treats her nothing but a slave Philippa said sadly,
"All they do is order her around!" "Make The fire, Fix the breakfast, Wash the dishes, Do the moping. Atlanta mocks the stepsisters.
"And the sweeping and the dusting!" They always keep her hopping."Phillipa" grunted.
"She will go around in circles, Till shes very dizzy"." They always find a way to keep her busy," said Archie
They all sighed then soon they could see the sun rising even higher knowing its almost time Theresa to wake up. " I think its time to get going let's go." As Atlanta and the others hurried back to the house.
In the house up in the small attic, was Theresa peacefully sleeping hearing the birds as the morning sunlight peaks through the small window across her bed? As the mice climbed up the wall they saw that Theresa was still fast asleep. They know if she doesn't wake up now the stepmother and sisters will go crazy.
Phillipa flew through across the room started chirping attempting to wake Theresa up but nothing except putting her pillow under her face. Then Archie climbed and started jumping on her pillow attempting to wake her up.

Then a hand crawled up and flicked Archie on the side "Hey what was that for ."Archie" yelled.
"Well serve you right for ruining my sleep." Theresa giggled as she got up from the bed and walk to the window smelling the fresh morning air
"What a lovely morning and also had a lovely dream.'' Theresa sighed calmly.
"What kind of dream did you dream of?" Atlanta asked.
Theresa answered. Theresa answered.
"Why not," Atlanta replied.
"Because if you tell a wish, it won't come true" and soon Theresa starts to sing.

A dream is a wish your heart makes.
When you're fast asleep
In dreams, you will lose your heartaches.
Whatever you wish for, you keep.

Have faith in your dreams and someday.
Your rainbow will come smiling through.
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true.

"THERESA!" one of the stepsisters screamed as Theresa quickly snapped out of her daydream

"There goes my morning," Theresa grunted.

She quickly rushes out her nightgown and dresses into a clean chemise and a red and white plaid petticoat and put on a white stay and a marooned coloured overdress to cover the stays and a bandana to cover the top of her head while her long strawberry blond hair falls at the back.
"There I'm ready" as she looks at her reflection in the mirror.

"You three stay safe okay and make sure to keep away from the cat," Theresa warned.
"Do you mean Neil?" "Yeah"."We can easily take care of him." Archie laughed

"The only thing that the cat loves is himself." Atlanta smiled.

Then Theresa let out a huge sigh". "You all know what Neil is capable of, he caught Archie one time and I had to make him release you.

"Your right about that," Archie replied

Theresa made her way down the stairs to the kitchen where she started to cook breakfast then soon her stepmother and sisters made their way to the kitchen for breakfast.
"Good morning Collet and Clarissa." Theresa greeted.

"Whatever" Collet rolled her eyes.

"Where is breakfast". Clarissa demanded.

"Its almost done," Theresa replied if her stepmother wasn't in charge of her she would have taught that Clarissa a lesson on her manners.

Then soon her stepmother arrived into the kitchen."Well, Good morning Madam Cassandra." Theresa curtsied Cassandra passed by her as she sat down next to her daughters.
"Is breakfast ready". Cassandra shouted.

"Breakfast is ready Madam. Theresa replied she went to the stove and put three bowls of stew for them "Breakfast is served."'
"It's Good Enough." Cassandra smiled.

The stepmother and sisters finished their breakfast and Theresa started to wash the dishes and Cassandra had a perfect idea for today.
"Girls" Cassandra called for her daughter's attention.
"What is it?

"I have a perfect idea of what we can do today and what about we go shopping in the town today."
Both of the girl's eyes lit up like a light bulb. "That is such a great idea mother," Clarissa replied happily. "I really want to buy the latest dresses," Collet said with a beaming smile across her face.

"And as for you Theresa. You will be carrying all our stuff while we're in the town. " Yes, Madam Theresa answered.
She decided to go to her to quickly grab her satchel. Both Archie and Atlanta noticed that Theresa was rushing. "Why are you in a rush?" Archie asked.

"Well, my stepmother and sisters decided to go shopping in the town. And I have to go. Theresa replayed she dreaded to go town with her stepmother and sister she would rather clean the whole house. Because shopping with them is nothing but a nightmare.

"We will come with you and keep you company," Atlanta suggested.

"Thanks", you two are the best friends I can ever ask for Theresa smiled happily.

"THERESA HURRY UP DO NOT YOU DARE KEEP US WAITING," Cassandra yelled.

Theresa rushed downstairs with her Archie and Atlanta who were hiding inside Theresa satchel and hopped onto the carriage with her stepmother and sisters on there way to town
