The Collapse
The Collapse was a very integral part of humanity for how it defined the very definition of chaos. At first, there were natural disasters, then riots, then discrimination against Ghouls and Quirk Users, even against humans that were considered truly mutant in nature, then crime rates shot up and then came the Grimm. Peace was replaced with utter chaos. Pirates roamed the seas and disrupted the global economy, Ghouls ate humans left and right, Villains began to take advantage of the fear that went on during the time, ethereal beings began to manifest, and the Grimm made things infinitely worse as humanity went after its own throat. Military action was taken against the Grimm as they were the biggest tangible threat. The UN used any and all weapons they had at the time to force them out of humanity's territory to no avail and even resorted to using nuclear weapons at some point in time and managed to drive them back. But with Villains and rampant ghouls running around, things had to be done. Marshall law was declared across many countries and it seemed like any and all hope was slipping away.
Many people have come forward to testify how horrific the collapse was. Many have stated that they had lost families during the wake of the Grimm attacks. Many were horrifically traumatized by the Collapse and some have said that it was the bloodiest chapter in history given how a third of humanity was wiped out in the chaos. Many children were left as orphans, many people had lost their friends and loved ones, families fell to pieces, hope had died in that abyssal sea of blood and carnage.
Humanity could never forget the events of the past, not even as they moved on towards the future. Humanity could never forget the deaths of millions, if not billions of men, women and children.
Even so, the Collapse made humanity realize that they had almost wandered into extinction. Had nuclear weapons been used any further, the damage to the ecology would be massive. If humanity had not learned to put its grudges aside, they would have brought themselves towards extinction by their own hands.
The World Hero Association was founded by several key individuals in places like UA High, Beacon Academy, the DWMA, Luna Nova, the Hunter Association, and the UN that had now integrated several other new countries like those of Remnant and Amestris. The Association later set up a city in which the World Hero Academy was built in would become the pillar that held world peace on it's shoulders and would be the greatest bastion for all of mankind regardless of whatever threat came upon the new world order.
