Greetings, PokéFans! Azai here, bringing you another chapter of "Green Horizon!" Amazing, right?
Anyways, I give my sincerest gratitudes to everyone who read the first chapter and gave their reviews! I appreciate it.
You also might be wondering like Mr. ja.gentile98, "Why are they strangely smarter than normal five-year-old's?" Well, they are prodigies, Gary/Blue more so than Ash/Red. Gary is raised by Professor Oak and his own sister Daisy. Growing up with a Pokémon Professor and a Pokémon Groomer has some perks. Ash got some of the facts from hanging out with him almost every day.
Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon or the references I make. I only own this story and my OCs.
With that out of the way, onto the chapter!
A year had passed.
Being five again was hard. Things that I could usually reach seemed so high now, knowing that I have to go through puberty again, and my high pitched voice was getting annoying. Those are the cons of an Isekai Main Character that has been reborn as a child. But living with my mom was awesome.
Having a mom that knows a ton of Fire-Type Pokémon facts was amazing. That meant if I had any questions about Fire-Types, all I had to do was ask my mom. She would answer immediately with a strange gleam in her eyes, something that on occasion, makes me shiver. She would also teach me how to groom and take care of the Pokémon she has, which were her Charizard named Riza, her Arcanine named Arc, and her Rapidash named Dash. Seeing Dash made me remember that there was an MLP Pokémon Parody that had Rainbow Dash as Ash and Twilight Sparkle as Rapidash. I know, weird. Why not the other way around?
I also found myself hanging out with Red and Blue every other day. With Blue always stating facts about his favorite Pokémon, Red and I listened to every detail, I eventually brought my own notebook just to write what the little Oak was saying.
The Pokémon Summer Camp took a month. The things we usually did were learn about Pokémon through experience and basically help Professor Oak in taking care of them. The Professor would sometimes answer our— in which I mean Red, Blue and I —questions about a specific Pokémon. When the Camp drew to a close, Serena had to say goodbye.
I have to admit, Serena, being the five-year-old that she is, was rather nice to hang out with. When she was with Ash anyways. Without him, the mood becomes really awkward.

Yeah... Moving on...
The four of us had actually become good friends at that amount of time, and it was a little sad that she had to go back to Kalos. Red was also very emotional that day and they made a pinkie promise. At that moment Blue and I facepalmed.
Mom once tried to make me go to school, but then I learned that both Red and Blue were taught by Professor Oak and Daisy about Pokémon of course, with the extension of Delia Ketchum as their general teacher.
I... threw a fit at that and started hanging out with them even more. Eventually, my mom accepted that I didn't want to go to school and helped Delia. She said that Red's mom couldn't handle the three of us alone, because of how our synergy works. I remember the last time Professor Oak left us without supervision from his Aides in his lab.
"Is everything alright— Oh good heavens, what ever happened to the floor?!" (1)
Now that I'm six, the pitch of my voice is more, uh, tolerable. Still high up there, but less annoying.
I asked my mom if we could go to Johto so I can see more Johto Pokémon up close. She agreed, saying that she had a friend who was a part of the Blackthorn Clan. She then started to laugh at my face.
Of course I was shocked! The Blackthorn Clan was known for having created the best Dragon-Type Specialists out there! Lance Blackthorn, the current Gym Leader of the City's Gym as of the moment— because he will be the Kanto-Johto League Champion in a few years —was a great example. As of now, he was invited to become an Elite Four member which he promptly accepted, or so the rumors say. His grandfather Borris was retired, but many knew him as the "Dragon Tamer." He was the reason why the Blackthorn Clan was well-known throughout the world.
And you know I'm serious because I'm not saying ZA WARUDO. (2)
I heard that Clair, Lance's cousin— who would be the future Gym Leader of Blackthorn but not the next —was preparing to become a Pokémon Trainer. I was weirded out when I learned that she was twelve right now, and Lance was nineteen. I then wondered, 'Don't we have a chance to become a Pokémon Trainer at ten?'
Apparently, that was not the case.
It is required for children to be the age of thirteen in order to start their own journey, seeing as the death rate of ten-year-old children was like, really high. But thirteen-year-old's were smarter, you see. They did not eat all their rations on the first day, without even being a day close to the NEAREST CITY. Children are dumb. I feel for their parents.
Back to the point, we're going to Blackthorn City!
Before it became famous, Blackthorn City was a remote place, like Pallet Town. It was close to a river, which was where they get most of their water from. The only place to note was the Dragon's Den. It was where Dragon-Types reside for the most part, obviously.
Nowadays, the place is still remote, but still has more crowds than before. More buildings were built, such as the Pokémon Center and the Pokémon Mart, and more people start to live there. Still, it was refreshing and a sight to see for an outsider.
My mom held my hand as we went to... 'The GYM?!' Can you blame me for being shocked twice in a row? We might meet THE Lance Blackthorn, one of the best Dragon Masters in ZA WARUDO!
Speaking of which...
"Miss Valis! What a pleasant surprise!" Oh Lord Helix it IS Lance! And he knows mom?! "Have you come to see Uncle Hector?"
"Well you see, my son here wanted to explore Johto for a few days, and knowing that Hector misses his best friend— me —dearly, I said yes," she said. Lance's attention had focused from her to me, and I suddenly realized that I found the floor quite interesting. It was just like in the Heartgold and Soulsilver games!
"Ah, you must be Green," the Dragon Master said. "Are you also planning to be a Fire-Type Specialist?" My mood went down a little when he said that. The red-haired man probably noticed too, saying, "Or perhaps you want to be something else?"
"I do! I wanna be the best when it comes to taking care of the Pokémon I'll catch!" Ugh, my childish enthusiasm combined with actually being a child is emotionally taxing.
The man— er, young adult? —let out a hearty laugh and ruffled my hair and added, "Would you like to meet my cousin Clair? She's a year away from starting her own journey, and she's usually at Riverhead Falls at this time." Riverhead Falls was where Ash met Clair for the first time, and it is the source of Blackthorn's main river.
I looked at my mom with my signature move— the pleading puppy eyes. It was super effective, and she caved in. I could hear Lance chuckling as I left the Gym.
Reaching Riverhead Falls, I see a lone figure standing there with a small snake-like figure beside it. When the figure turned, I halted my advance.
The girl was wearing a high-neck dark blue suit that extends to her thighs, with two shoulder pads, which have two yellow circles and a black cape on her back which its interior is red. I also noticed that she wore a pair of dark blue fingerless gloves and a pair of dark blue shoes.
"What are you looking at?" she asked. The snake-like figure was actually a Dratini. It has a white, circular, gem-like object on its forehead, and its eyes were light purple. It has two developing wings at the sides of its head, which grow to be enormous as it evolves. It has a white belly, and is light blue the rest of the way. It started hissing at me.
I'm confused, this is Clair? I thought she was twelve? Why does she look like the personification of beauty?!
OH MY HELIX I'm a SIX-YEAR-OLD! Of course I think she's beautiful that's what children think most of the time! It's bad enough that I DID have a small attraction to her in my first life, now I have a crush on Clair!
"Uh, I..."
She tapped her right foot impatiently, "Well?"
I fainted.
I woke up with Clair's face looking right at me. She looked really embarrassed. Then the Dratini was still hissing at me as if I'd done something wrong. 'Okay, what's your problem with me, guy/gal?'
Oh Helix, why was it growling now?
At this point Clair spoke, "What are you doing here?"
"Mr. Lance sent me here." Clair's eyes sparkled when I mentioned her cousin. "I see. I should introduce myself. I am Clair Blackthorn."
"G-Green Valis," I managed to say, "C-can I s-stand up n-now..?" My statement made the girl blush.
After our initial meeting, Clair was cool to be with. We talked all day about Dragon-Types, which were her passion. Kingdra were both of our favorite Pokémon. Her Dratini and I don't get along, though. The f*ing menace... I am starting to dislike the Dratini Evolution Line.
In the span of a few days, I'd like to think that Clair was one of the coolest people I've ever met, next to Lance. I didn't get to see Mr. Borris, but that's understandable, because he was apparently watching over the Dragon's Den.
I still remember the day I met Sir Hector... It gives me shivers every time I remember...
"Are you Green Valis?"
"Y-yes, s-sir."
"Look at my daughter in a perverse way and you shall face the consequences."
"Hector! He's six!"
"An age when children would notice my little dragon's perfection!"
"F-father!"
"Hector, you idiot! The age where boys start to notice girls is nine!"
"I see... Very well. You may... 'hang out' with Clair."
Anyways, Clair most likely sees me as the little brother she never had. Kind of sad, really.
Lance gave me a lot of pointers on how to take care of Dragon-Types before he left. He had also left the Blackthorn Gym in Sir Hector's hands, and went on to become an Elite Four.
Alas, my time in Blackthorn had come to an end. My mom and I had to return to Pallet at some point.
But before we did, I went to see Clair for the last time in a few years possibly.
"..." Clair was uncharacteristically quiet.
"Hey, Big Sis," I caved in and started calling her that a while ago. "I don't like saying goodbye." Our eyes met. Tears were threatening to fall, but they don't. "So when we meet again, You're gonna be the best Dragon Master ever! And I'm gonna be the Kanto-Johto Champion!"
"...Yeah. I'm going to be called the Dragon Mistress, so watch out, little guy! I'll be your toughest opponent yet!" And with that, My little adventure in Blackthorn ends, a promise made to the soon-to-be Dragon Mistress.
Well that was a nice ending, wouldn't you agree? Now I know that there might be some comments saying, "Hey, why did they become friends easily and why was it really emotional when Green was about to leave?!"
My explanation is... Clair was a bit of a loner in this FanFiction. With an overprotective father like Hector, she wouldn't make that much friends, as most of the time, Hector only allows Lance, the son of his brother Ban Blackthorn— who will be mentioned in a later chapter —to interact with the girl.
Lance, knowing that Clair needed at least another friend, had Green meet her. Thus, with Green liking Clair and with her cousin's approval, became friends to the point that Clair sees Green as her own little brother.
Normally, Hector would have objected even more, but he relented because Green was Viridian's son. Hector and Viridian traveled together when they were young, and are best friends.
