"Dr. Hodgins, please get to the task at hand," Brennan said

"But Hodgins could be right. This skull looks like no animal that has ever lived on Earth and it can't be a human as Jessica said." Angela argued

Just then, Aubrey walked over to the body to check out what was going on and when he saw the body, he shouted, "Woah! What is that, an alien or something?"

"That's what we think," Hodgins replied

As Aubrey was writing down notes about that possibility, he responded, "Well, of course that's what you think, you're into this kind of stuff, "

Angela nodded. Cam then said, "It's entirely possible. If I had to take sides, I would say, this is an alien,"

Everyone else agreed. Except Brennan.

"This can't be an alien, but it could be an animal we don't know about yet," Brennan argued

"An animal this big and with all the bugs Hodgins mentioned?" Cam questioned

"It's an alien," everybody but Brennan said in unison

In defeat, Brennan ordered, "Ship the remains to the Jeffersonian"

"With the water?" Aubrey asked

Brennan considered just letting Hodgins take samples of the water and bringing it to the Jeffersonian. But then, better safe than sorry. "Yes,"

Brennan then sped to the car as quickly as a cheetah, still upset about the remains possibly being an alien. Right before Brennan was about to get into the car, Booth finally noticed Brennan's departure. He rushed back to the car and started to drive to his office.

"Did something happen?" Booth asked

"Everyone thinks that our new body is an alien, but it can't be," Brennan explained

"Well, why can't it be?"

"If there were evidence of aliens, people would've found them by now and.. hmmm..."

Brennan stopped talking. She started to look like she was considering something.

"Well, what?" Booth questioned

"Drop me off at the lab, I need to look at the remains again,"

"Okay," Booth agreed skeptically

Booth dropped Brennan off at the lab and went directly to her office. She looked through photos of the body sent to her by Angela and started to consider other ways this could've happened. Was it a genetic experiment gone wrong? No, it can't be, it's too complicated for any human this time and age. Could it have been the first of a new species? But that would still be what Brennan refused to believe. Anything but an alien. After a while, Brennan started to think about why she refused to believe this was an alien. Brennan recollected an incident from her childhood.

It was just before lunchtime and Temperance was playing tag with her dad, Max, when she then tagged him. Temperance squealed with joy and Max sat down and the wet grass and talked to Temperance about something unusual.

"Temperance, do you believe in aliens?"

"I would if I found evidence of aliens," young Temperance responded

"Well, if you ever find evidence of an alien, name them after your mother,"

"I will, Dad,"

Brennan thought about this incident and couldn't bring to grips that she had found evidence of an alien. She would have to deal with the pain of her father's death again. And her mother's. It can't be an alien. Of course it isn't, it could be a joke. It can't be an alien. It can't be an alien.

Cam then walked into the office to tell Brennan the bones were there. As Brennan was just about to get up, she heard a strange noise. It sounded like wheezy air being pumped, but not at the same time.

She turned around to find a blue box next to her bookcase.
