While Meika was solved his 'dilemma', the Midoriya family kept watching the door where the young adult came out, surprised as well as confused, well, that was the way parents were because Izuku's big smile said how excited he was. Someone wants to teach him how to fight.
Someone else sees potential in him.
"I'm sure you three have a lot to talk about."
That sentence echoed in his head, and he turned to see his parents with a knot beginning to form in his stomach, it was obvious that they connected one plus one and realized what was happening.
The bullying continues when they thought it was over and he kept quiet about it.
Inko got up from her place and went back to the kitchen. "I think it is time for lunch, I planned to do something else and we were going shopping until we saw you with Meika-san and seeing that you had a bad day I guess It will be okay to eat katsudon." She said softly, turned to see that her husband and son nodded, agreeing with that. She entered the kitchen, leaving both men in the living room. Hisashi looked at his son who looked back and patted the empty place next to him, inviting him to sit which he did. They both stayed in a small moment of silence without doing anything, each thinking about what to say to start and looking straight ahead.
"Dad... I"
"Son... I"
They tried to say, but seeing that they both spoke at the same time made them stop, turn to look at each other and laugh a little, Hisashi couldn't help but putting his hand on his son's hair and messing it up a bit. They finished with the laughter and the child spoke.
"I know we have a lot to talk about but..."
"Izuku... this is something serious, you can't ask us to let this as if nothing happens, but in the first place, why didn't you tell us that they kept bullying you?"
His son looked at the floor somewhat distressed, felt his father put his hand on his back and began to make circles, somehow telling him to take it easy, Izuku gave a small sigh.
"...You two already worried about me too much... is a burden to take care of a quirk-"
"Don't finish that sentence..."
His father's voice was firm but most of all one could feel that tone of indignation, as if what he was saying offended him greatly. He felt like two arms surrounded him in a hug, which he immediately returned. It felt warm and loving.
"Son, I want you to know that you never, NEVER, were, are or will be a burden to both of us, you are our beloved little one, and nothing in this world can change it." He brought his hand back to Izuku's hair and stroked it, he could feel his shoulder starting to get wet from his son's tears. "I tell you something? Your mom and I thought about having a child after we got married, the thing is... for some reason it didn't work, for many times we tried and Inko wasn't pregnant, we feared the worst. Before losing hope, do you know what news came to us? The last pregnancy test was positive. Do you know how happy we were to know that we would have you? By accident, I burned the curtains of emotion!" A small laugh came out to remember that moment. "The thing is... You don't have a quirk. And so what? It doesn't change the fact that I have an intelligent, kind and good-hearted boy as a son. And I couldn't feel more proud of you, and you know well that your mom thinks the same thing."
"And I do." They both turned to see that Inko left the kitchen, tears were already running down her cheeks showing that she heard everything. They moved a little to leave enough room for her to sit, already being next to them, she joined the family hug. "Dear, you are the most important thing for us, we will always worry about you. In the future when you are already a hero, save people, defeat villains and even get to start a family you can count on us to keep worrying about you." She took her hand to Izuku's cheek, stroking a little with his thumb where he had those freckles of diamond she have always found adorable.
"But thanks to my you lost-"
"Oh, shh, those weren't friends, we wouldn't have as friends people who 'advised' us to leave our son in an orphanage."
Hisashi clicked his tongue and let out a sigh with some ember as he remembered that quite annoying. "Those bastards, the worst thing is that some were parents. How are they able to say such a thing? To hell with them."
"Hisashi..."
"What? You think the same and don't try to deny it."
Inko opened her mouth to refute but stopped when she heard Izuku's laugh. The attention of both parents returned to him.
"...Thank you very much mom, dad, seriously, you are the best, I love you."
That made them both smile widely, kiss their son's head and tighten the hug even more. "We love you too."
They said nothing more, for the next ten minutes they stayed in that familiar moment.
Until Hisashi realized something and spoke, breaking the moment. "Honey... the food."
This caused Inko to open her eyes wide. "Oh dear, right!" She shouted and in less than a second she entered the kitchen, father and son couldn't help but laugh a little at this.
"Sometimes I think that mom has a speed quirk and not telekinesis."
"Me too son, or perhaps it's those magnificent abilities that a woman gains when she is a mother, such as being always right."
"I heard that!"
And again they laughed, but with more force.
After a while, preparing the table and eating, the family of three sat in the dining room as they had to deal with two issues. Inko was the first to speak, somewhat nervous. "So when we made the calls they..."
Izuku scratched the back of his head, insecure. "They got angry and things got worse..."
"And doing the same thing won't solve anything..." Hisashi said as he wrinkled his forehead. He wanted to ask how things got 'worse' but he thought it would be putting too much pressure on his son, for now. "What if you change the school?"
"I don't know, honey... nothing assures us that they treat Izuku well when they know he has no quirk."
"He doesn't have to tell them, just say you have an intelligence quirk."
"The teachers will know and I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches the ears of a student... apart from Izuku being a bad liar..."
"Mom is right dad, even if I tried, sooner or later they will know..."
"The only thing we have left is to you study at home, son, I'm sure it won't be difficult. Many children of your age go online without problem."
"Good idea, dear. What do you think, Izuku?"
"Well..." He looked at the ceiling and took a moment to think, would it really be okay? Leave Aldera and study in the comfort of his home and not see his classmates, especially Kacchan.
"Don't let others take advantage of you, you're better than that."
Meika's words echoed again, and he couldn't help but see that he was right, he was already fed up and tired of being the laughing stock of all just because of his lack of quirk, he had good grades so it wouldn't be a bother to study online and preferred not to interact with any of them anymore. What does he have to lose? It was winning where he saw it. He saw his parents again, determined. "...I will." Both parents nodded, glad that their son no longer had to spend time in Aldera.
"Although it will take us a while to leave everything done, you will have to go on Monday, even on Tuesday..."
"I-I think I can handle it, it's only two days."
"I just hope that what happened today with that boy Yin and his friends don't happen again... What if we ask Meika-san to wait for you outside? I know it would be asking him a lot since he wants to teach you, but that way we avoid a few things..." Inko said a little unsure that something like this is possible, more if she takes the fact that they know him just today.
"Mmm... I don't know, honey, I'm still a little insecure about that boy, sure, he helped our son and offered to teach him... What was it's name?"
"Water stream rock smashing fist."
"Yeah, that. But we don't know anything about him... maybe it's better that we go to where he told us and talk about all this?"
"You're right Hisashi, let's better take this easy."
"Yes."
"Then it's decided."
After ordering everything and washing the dishes, Izuku went to his room. It was blue, had a bed and next to it was a night table, closet, desk, a computer, merchandise of many heroes, especially All Might, which were placed on shelves, a sandbag that hung in a corner and in that same place had weights for an arm that belonged to his father but he decided to give them to him. Yep, a boy's room of his age, nothing weird. A tired sigh left his lips. "What a day... I'm exhausted." He said as he walked to his bed and threw himself on the pillow, despite the physical and emotional fatigue he had no intention of sleep, there was still an unknown.
How strong was Meika?
Sure, he looked strong, but the fact that he sent that boy Tsunotori, someone who should weigh at least a hundred kilos by his quirk, a few meters in one blow were simply amazing, and he could tell he was holding back. He even received a blow from the bull without even flinching. He has only known him since very little, but he couldn't help but admiring him. He got out of bed and went to the sandbag, at least he would try to do the same thing he did. He tried to do the same pose, all of his flexed fingers minus the index and annular that were like claws, put his left foot in front of the right, bend his knees a little, and hit with his right fist.
The bag barely moved...
"...What?" He asked in disbelief and disappointment. How could it happen? Perhaps he didn't put much force, or perhaps he didn't do it well, it may also be that this technique was advanced for a rookie to achieve at the first attempt. But he didn't give up and he tried again.
And again, and again, and again...
So time passed until dinner time, he was covered in sweat and had advanced very little, or was what he thought seeing that he still lacks that fluidity in the movements that Meika possessed, decided that it was better to leave this for later, bathe, eat and go to sleep. Tomorrow will be another day.
[Dream.]
"Izuku! Izuku! Izuku!"
Ovations. They were cheering for him, thousands and thousands of people shouting his name with joy. Feeling safe in his presence. He succeeded. He finally succeeded, after so much effort, sweat, tears and blood, he finally completed his goal.
He is now a hero.
In the audience he could see his parents, clapping with big smiles of pride, her mother were crying with joy for him.
"Well done, brat." He turned his head to his right to see Meika, now both of the same height, smiling at him. He slapped him on the back in congratulation and put that same hand on his shoulder. "But don't forget that you will remain a Deku."
That voice wasn't from him, it was from someone else he had known for a long time, rough and with all the possible mockery he made at his person. In an instant everything went dark, the people, his parents and Meika disappeared from his sight, and wasn't a strong and fearless hero, his costume was gone, now it has been just a skinny guy in a black uniform that feared everything and was too weak to defend himself. In front of him lay a white diamond floating, whispers could be heard from it.
"Izuku… Izuku… Izuku…"
He tried to reach it, but a cold black hand held his arm, it burning, leaving black marks on his skin. A distorted scream filled his ears. "DO YOU THINK YOU CAN RUN, DEKU!?" An amorphous and black thing was holding him, more hands began to grab his body, pulling him towards it, it shouted more and more with a multitude of voices he could barely recognize, but he did.
"Pathetic!"
"You're just a trash!"
"A waste of time!"
"Why are you still here?!"
"What a pain your parents give me!"
"You will always be the useless and weak Deku good for nothing!"
He turned to see it. He immediately feels regret. Looks. Glances loaded with hate, grief, disappointment, mockery, judgment and sadness, everything at him.
His existence.
And he hated that with his whole being.
He tried everything, kicking, shaking, screaming for help, crying for help. But nothing. Nobody came. He could feel its claws clinging to his skin, flesh, bones.
"Stop!"
To his soul.
"Please!"
He implored to be released, but nothing came out of his mouth saved a shriek of agony. It hurt, it hurt a lot. More tears came from his eyes as despair filled his body.
"Stop... please..."
Where is dad? Where is mom? He needed them, he wanted them to hug him and assure him that everything will be fine.
"Don't…"
Where is All Might? Where is Meika? He needed to be saved, he needed a hero.
"...I want to rest…"
But nobody came. He was alone. Alone in the dark.
"Forever…"
He was tired of pain, sick of words, he couldn't take it anymore. He closed his eyes, stopped moving and fighting. He allowed it to take him.
"…I'm sorry…"
He gave up.
...
"Don't give up."
He heard a soft but firm voice. A girl? He opened his eyes again to find a figure made of light whose long hair fluttered and covered his body like a shield, an angel whose presence alone vanished the creature that tormented him.
"Don't give up."
She repeated again without changing her tone, he didn't know or could say anything. The angel took his face in her hands and with her thumbs wiped away the tears. He felt warm, reminded him when his father congratulated him for passing an exam or when his mother caressed his hair lovingly. The light faded and slowly began to reveal her face.
"Don't give up."
And immediately, everything disappeared. He got up, giving air puffs, gripping his sheets tightly and with sweat running down his forehead, tears running down his cheeks. He couldn't stop shaking. He saw the digital clock next to him, it was six in the morning. He closed his eyes and said to himself. "A nightmare... just a nightmare..." One that has been repeated endlessly since recent years. But it was different. That angel, or he thought it was one, was the first time he saw her.
"Don't give up."
He remembered those words and her voice well, also the only thing he could see from her face before waking up.
Greens, her eyes were dark green.
He didn't think he will reconcile the sleep again so he went to the bathroom to wash his face. But he found his father doing the same.
"Dad? What are you doing so early?"
"Izuku? I should ask the same thing."
"W-well, I think I'm so excited to train with Meika-san that I woke up early. And you?" He said with some guilt for lying to his father, but he didn't want to talk about his nightmare. Hearing his little laugh ease him.
"Is that so? Never change little rabbit." That made his son blush in shame.
"Dad…"
"What? It's adorable. And why I'm awake... maybe or maybe not your mom pulled me off the bed while I was sleeping..."
"Pfff! Again?"
"Yep... Who needs alarm when your pretty wife does that?"
A yawn was heard. "I heard that..." Both men turned to see Inko running her hand through one eye and sleepy, just as her husband and son only wore her pajamas. "Uh, I guess there's no point in going back to sleep... and there is time to take you to Meika-san. Breakfast and hang out?" Hisashi and Izuku nodded at the idea. After breakfast they simply sat on the couch reading fantasy books by father and son while the mother a romance novel. That was until eight o'clock, when they decided to go where the silver-haired man told them. When they drove it didn't take long to get to a neighborhood where the houses were normal, except one.
"He lives in a dojo?" Hisashi asked surprised.
"Well, the address he gave me points here." Izuku said checking his notebook again, apart from wearing light clothes for training, he carried his backpack where he had a couple of bottles of water and some of his other notebooks he has already written and a blank one where he would write down what he would learn.
In front of them was the classic dojo that you would find in many martial art films of the time before the quirk, it had a courtyard whose grass was somewhat grown, as if it weren't pruned very often, a path of stones that led to the dojo and in the middle of the road two wolf statues painted in silver. At the entrance, and not very sure, Hisashi knocked a couple of knocks on the door and after a few seconds it was opened by Meika who wore a white shirt, gray shorts and was barefoot, in one hand he had a half-eaten apple. He raised an eyebrow when he saw the family. "Oh... hey, good morning, you arrived earlier than I thought. Come in, I'll explain everything inside." He said as he stepped aside to let them pass. Upon entering they could not prevent 'minimalist' from appearing in their minds when they saw how poorly decorated the interior was. On the right, there were two doors and on the left side only one, at the bottom there was a slide that perhaps overlooked a backyard. "The door on the right is the bathroom, the left my room, never enters there. There is the kitchen, although I didn't use it much since I have no idea of cooking."
"Excuse me Meika-san. Who is he?" Inko asked, pointing to a picture in a frame that is next to the door of the young man's room, he was a remarkably old man, slightly tan skin, light blue eyes whose hair, eyebrows and mustache were white, presumably due to old age. Below that was another frame where the same man was smiling happily as he stirred the hair of a very young Meika who was busier pouting than smiling for the camera. The silver-haired boy watched those photos for a few seconds.
"...He was my adoptive father, his name is Bang, he was a great martial artist who created his own fighting style. He invented the Water stream rock smashing fist… also he give me my name." He said solemnly. He went to the back door and slid it in view of the backyard. "Come." The family followed and went on to see what looked more like a training ground, a pair of dummies, a square wooden platform that looked like one-on-one fights, further down there were several stones of different sizes but that they were all quite large. "What is the first thing you want to know?" The question went more to the parents, who shared glances before addressing Meika.
First, it was Hisashi, who crossed his arms. "How do you plan to train our son? And what would the schedule be?"
"First a few exercises to know what his strengths are and what he need to polish. Is he stronger, but lacks skill? Or does he rely more on the technique, but lack speed? I need to know that first. I know that the boy has already trained on his own, so in two months I will begin to teach him the basics of Water stream rock smashing fist."
"Is there a way to shorten that name?" Asked the father to notice that the name was long.
"No." It was Meika's simple answer. "As soon as the schedule, I thought that it could be from Monday to Saturday from three in the afternoon until eight at night, Sunday will be your day of rest. But if at any time you need time to study for an exam I wouldn't mind giving you one or two days off."
"I think it's fine." Izuku said not seeing problems in that.
"Eeeh... My son won't have to be hitting stones, will he?" Said an insecure Inko fearing that her baby would break his hands.
"That? He won't... yet. Let me give you a sample." He walks towards one of the stones, it was a round one, whose eight reached the shoulders of Meika and how wide it was it felt that it's heavy. The surprise? The young man lifted it without problems and took it to the Midoriya, left it on the floor without showing a little sweat. "...What?" Asked to see the surprised looks of Inko and Hisashi while Izuku had star eyes.
"You just lifted that stone..."
"And without effort..."
"COOL!"
This took a small laugh from the fighter, he had forgotten how much people were surprised to see something like that even if they were used to seeing All Might lift things bigger than this with ease. "Whatever. Madam, it's not called "Water stream rock smashing fist" for nothing." At this point he only says the name to bother Hisashi a little, which he achieved. "He won't do it right now, but with enough practice and training he will be able to do... this." He positioned his right foot in front of his left foot, felt his knees as he moved his hands fluently, but for Izuku he was slower than the other time, immediately threw a blow to the stone that seemed not to react until after three seconds when it began to crack and finally collapse into pieces. "The Water stream rock smashing fist can be described as "moving like a calm river and then attack with the force of a wave", at least the old man said, you combine attack and defense in harmony to redirect the blows of your enemy and counterattack with twice the force. I will also show you the pressure points and how to use them to restrict the movements of your opponents." He returned to stand firm and see the family who, again, are seeing him with the same looks but intensified. "...Is just me or is the brat shining like the sun?" He thought to see how Izuku's face was inexplicably bright. He gave a small sigh and clapped loudly, pulling the family out of his 'trance'. "Any other question?"
"Oh, yes, you will see Meika-san, seeing that our son is still... bothered at school by his 'classmates' we decided that the best thing will be he study at home." Inko noticed how he nodded implying that he listened attentively. "The thing is that it will take us one or two days to get everything ready and we fear that the same thing happened yesterday and we wondered if you could..."
"Wait for him at the door of his school and accompany him to home?" The parents nodded. "I'm sorry, but I don't think it's possible."
"Uh?"
"It's not that I don't care, but remember that they saw me and, although it was to defend the boy, it doesn't take away the fact that I attacked minors and seeing me I don't doubt that they will call the teachers, even a hero. The last thing you want is your son to be involved with something like that." His tone was serious and the family could not help but seeing that he has a valid point.
"I-it's okay, Meika-san, it's only two days, I think I can handle it." Even if he said so, Izuku couldn't leave that feeling of doubt. He will have to use everything possible to evade Kacchan and his lackeys as well as Yin and his friends.
"I hope so, brat. It's better that your body hurts for training than for being beaten to death." He said simply. "Shall we start?" He gave a side smile as he watched as Izuku nodded enthusiastically.
"Then it's decided, we'll see you later, son." Both parents said goodbye to their son, although Inko attracted him to a round of hugs and kisses.
"God this family..."
[Tuesday.]
For Katsuki Bakugo everything was going well, very well. The weekend was good, his favorite series ended with a great ending, although it leaves him with a small void that will be there until he finds another, he went to climb, the old witch wasn't so bitch about everything, and although he would not admit it, spending time with his father was fine. Among everything, he was in a good mood.
On Monday he had to go to the damn school, but that didn't ruin his good mood, in fact, seeing how the useless Deku was absolutely silent to the point that his irritating murmur was nonexistent and his presence was more invisible than normal, made his mood stay the same, don't want to deal with the nerd and his damn dream. He reached the point that he didn't see him in the recess or at the exit. Good.
It was Tuesday when he felt something was missing. Did they have a shit test and he didn't study? Not that he remembered and he always made sure not to forget when there was one. All his things were in his backpack? Everything was in place. It was there when he turned around and noticed the Deku's empty seat. Was there an incident with a villain and the fucking nerd got distracted by that? It sounded like something that could happen. He didn't care.
The idiot of the teacher arrived and he couldn't help but wondering what happened, if what he thought happened then Deku would be late but before the teacher enters the room, not after. He shook his head, taking the idea out of his head. He didn't care about the damn nerd. Apparently the professor aka 'wire arms' realized how some of his students looked at the empty seat with curiosity, others simply ignored it. He cleared his throat calling everyone's attention. "You will surely have noticed that Midoriya-kun is not present today. That is because, for personal reasons, his parents decided to remove him from Aldera. In other words, he is no longer a student of this school." A silence filled the room after the bomb dropped.
"WAIT. ONE. FUCKING. MOMENT!"
A silence that was broken by another bomb.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
