Lillie narrated the past events as she and the others came out of the Ultra Wormhole and into Ultra Deep Sea.
"So, this is the Ultra Beast's world!" Mallow said as she looked around.
"Those gems, they are beautiful!" Lana said while admiring the rocks.
Sophocles was shocked to see how beautiful the rocks were and asked if they were made out of rock or metal. Suddenly, an Ultra Beast brushed against Sophocles' head, scaring him.
Ash reassured his friend, "Don't worry about it, Sophocles. Our Pokemon are with us to share courage." . Sophocles realized that Ash was right and they all called out their Pokemon. Lillie called out Snowy, Mallow called out Steenee, Lana called out Popplio, Kiawe called out Turtonator and Marowak, Sophocles called out Togedemaru and Charjabug, and Ash called out Shadow, Litten, Lycanroc, Rowlet, Rayquaza and the Eon Duo.
Suddenly, an Ultra Beast appears out of a nearby trench. But, there seems to be something off about it. The first four tentacles had eyes with diamond pupils the others had claws. Inside the bell, Gladion rested comfortably, but his hair was black with blonde stripes and grew to his stomach, while his eyes were glowing yellow instead of emerald green. This wasn't Gladion anymore, this is Gladion-Nihilego!
Ash shouted as he recognized the teenager stuck inside Nihilego's bell, "It's Gladion! And he's fused with the Ultra Beast!" "The data is a perfect match!" Rotomdex announced as he scanned Gladion.
