Seth

I had wanted to imprint since I phased.

I wanted someone who was mine and who loved me — wolf and all. And I wanted the happiness that came with imprinting that I saw through my brother's eyes. I had a lot of love to give and I wanted someone to share that love with.

I honestly had gotten to the point where I never thought I would imprint. I had looked into the eyes of almost every girl in Forks and La Push over the past few years and none of them where my imprint. Jake thought I was insane and insisted that I would never find my imprint if I was looking for her. He said the universe would put her in my path when I least expected it and when the universe was good and ready for me to meet her. But really, what did he know? He was just some dumb, kid-alpha.

It had become an impulsive habit. Anytime I was anywhere, my eyes would wander, looking at the other people I was near and trying to make eye contact with them. Leah said it was unhealthy. Brady thought I was crazy for even wanting to imprint. And Collin had picked up the habit from me, doing the same anytime he was out, though he was much more discreet.

I didn't want to admit that maybe Jake had been right about the universe because I really hadn't been looking for my imprint tonight. I wasn't even supposed to be in Forks. I had gotten stuck at work late and then my mom told me she had gone to Charlie's for dinner and I was starving so I figured I would go to the bar downtown and order a beer and a pizza.

I hadn't even made it in the door.

I heard the girl, before I saw her.

She was repeating stop over and over again. I had realized she was on the other side of the closest car and my feet were taking me towards her before I had even registered what was going on.

"Hey!" I called. A man was pressed up on the girl while she attempted to struggle away. I grabbed the guys shoulder and flung him off of her. "She's not interested, she said to stop. Go home before I call the police." They both still had their clothes on at least and the man was lucky I hadn't realized this girl was my imprint when I first walked up. Because, if I had, he wouldn't have been able to walk away. Instead, I didn't realize who she was until he was halfway across the parking lot and — by that point — I had also realized my imprint really couldn't stand without leaning on me. I had no choice but to leave the man to live another day and focus my attention on her.

And, honestly, I never wanted to focus my attention on anyone else again. She was beautiful. Chocolate brown hair that curled slightly at the ends and big blue eyes. She was short and couldn't have been much taller than five feet but she was poorly balanced in incredibly high heels. I suspected that when she was more sober she might even be good at walking in them. But she was trashed. And I was irrationally angry at her for not going to a bar with someone who would look out for her.

Once I realized I actually knew this girl or knew of her, it was much easier to convince her to let me take her home. There was no way I would be letting her walk back by herself and I was pretty sure she couldn't have managed the walk even if she tried.

Jessica Stanley had been semi-friends with Bella Swan — now Cullen — in high school. Jake didn't really think of that time too much anymore but I recognized Jessica's face from his memories. And, damn, I realized really quickly she was out of my league. She had a spacious one bedroom apartment with fancy appliances and a plush white couch. Only rich people had white couches. The apartment still looked really bare — no photos or personal items — but it was the nicest apartment I had ever been in.

"I'm going to go get you some water? Maybe some Advil?" I say. I'm sitting on the edge of her bed, still holding her foot. I had figured I could at least help her take those death trap shoes off.

"Thanks, Seth." She yawns. I get up and head back into the kitchen, opening cabinets until I find a cup. She doesn't look like the type of girl to drink tap water and, when I open the fridge, there is a Brita water filter pitcher sitting on the top shelf. And literally nothing else. I pour the water for her and head back to her bedroom.

"Where would your Advil be?" I ask, placing the water on the small table next to the bed. She's already curled in a ball and sound asleep. "Shit." I mutter. I really didn't know how much she drank. Would she be fine to just sleep? I head back out of the room and into the large bathroom to look for Advil. I pull my phone out of my pocket and dial Jake.

"What's up?" Jake asks when he answers the phone and I can tell even he sounds confused as to why I'm calling him.

"How do you know if you have alcohol poisoning?" I ask.

"Uhh..." He trails off for a second. "I don't know? Our metabolisms are too fast for that shit. What's going on?"

"I need you to not get into it right now but I literally just imprinted on Jessica Stanley and she is trashed and just passed out and I don't know if I need to wake her up and have Cullen pump her stomach or give her water or if she can just sleep it off." I breathe out, opening drawers in the bathroom and finally finding Advil. I grab the bottle and head back into her room, placing the bottle next to the water. I can tell she's still breathing so at least there's that.

"Shiiiiiiit." Jake says. "Where are you?"

"Her apartment." I explain. I pull the covers up around her and smooth her hair away from her face. "Do I wake her up and force her to throw up and drink water or do I just let her sleep?"

"I'm sure she'll be fine without the water, just probably massively hungover tomorrow — wait — how did you end up at her apartment?" Jake asks, completely ignoring the actual important question. "Were you trying to sleep with her at first sight?"

"Seriously, Jake?" I growl. "Can you fucking help me for one second?"

"Well what the hell am I supposed to say, Seth?" He asks. "You just asked me if you should try to force your imprint to throw up!"

"Seth imprinted!" I can hear Collin yell in the background.

"Yeah!" Jacob calls. "And you'll never guess on—"

I hang up the phone on him and call the person I should have called first. My mistake for thinking my alpha would help me.

"What's wrong, Seth?" Edward answers the phone on the first ring.

"I just tried to ask Jacob for help and he's being an asshole so I need your help and I need you to not freak me out anymore because I'm actually panicking." I let him know.

"What's wrong, Seth?" Edward repeats.

"I just imprinted on Jessica Stanley and she was really drunk and now she's passed out and I don't know what to do." I ramble.

"Okay, calm down." Edward soothes. "Where are you?"

"Her apartment." I explain.

"So she passed out in her bed?" He clarifies.

"Yes."

"Okay, so that's not as bad as passing out while standing up." Edward says. "When she was awake was she talking to you? Could she hold her head up?"

"Yeah." I nod my head. "She was talking to me but she couldn't walk by herself."

"Did she know what was going on or was she out of it?"

"She knew what was going on, I think." I explain. "She remembered who Jacob and Bella were and she remembered my name when we got back here."

"And how does her pulse sound? And her breathing?" Edward asks. I pause for a moment and listen to her. Her breathing sounded alright — not too shallow — and her pulse was there.

"I think they're both okay." I sigh. "Shit, I'm sorry, I just panicked."

"It's okay." He says. "I think it sounds like she'll be alright, Seth. I can come there if you want but if I have to wake her up to check her out, she is going to be majorly freaked out so I'm not sure if you want to do that."

"No, you're right." I groan. "I'm totally fucked, Edward, she is way out of my league. This apartment she's in is nicer than anything I could ever afford."

"Money isn't everything, Seth." Edward says. "I did hear a lot of Jessica's thoughts when we were in high school, and I'm sure she's changed a lot, but she was deeply unhappy a majority of the time. I don't know if she still is but I'm sure you can make her very happy."

"Thanks, Edward." I sigh. "I'll talk to you later." I hang up the phone and allow myself to watch my imprint for another minute before I get up and turn off the light, exiting her room. I head into the kitchen and start looking for a pen and paper to leave her a note. I couldn't leave here without leaving my number. I had to see her again. Preferably as soon as possible.

My phone starts ringing.

"What?" I snap into the phone.

"Testy." Jake says. "Did you figure it out? Or do you want me to come over?"

"Yeah, I figured it out, Edward says she's probably okay." I explain. "I'm now trying to find a pen and paper so I can leave her my number and, when I tell you that her apartment has nothing to write with, I really mean it."

"We'll figure it out." Jake says, laughing. "You could always just sit in her living room all night and then give her your number in person tomorrow morning."

"Yeah, that would go over well." I say, sarcastically.

"Go take one of those eye pencils from her room and write with that." He suggests.

"I'm not going to go through her room." I snap. "And Leah says those are expensive so I'm not going to write a note with one — that's a fast way to make her mad at me."

"Seth." Jake finally says. "Go home. I will figure this out for you and we will get her your number and you'll live happily ever after in her boujee apartment."

"Okay, okay." I sigh, abandoning my search for a pen since there is clearly not one to be found. I listen for another few seconds to make sure Jessica's breathing is okay and, once I decide it just sounds like someone in a deep sleep, I exit the apartment.

The universe really caught me off guard tonight.

Thanks for the reviews and alerts guys! I hope you liked hearing from Seth's POV...I won't have a ton of chapters from his perspective but I did want the option to show some things from his side. Hope you continue to enjoy and don't forget to review :)
