Percy was confused as to why she was here. The voice that had her told her to go to the clearing had fallen silent. It was strange of course everything in the world of the gods is strange, but this voice, this very driving force that she felt was beyond even her explanation. Percy didn't really remember much, just that she woke up with a strange voice urging her... no not urging… demanded her to go to this clearing. She felt obliged to listen. Something about the voice was oddly familiar. She couldn't exactly put her finger on it, but it did put her at ease. Honestly, all Percy knew was her name and that she was the daughter of a Greek god. Everything else was just out of reach. Percy felt as if she was one good push from recovering memories of the past, but nothing seemed to matter.

"Hey Percy?" Thalia came up slightly awkwardly as if she was unsure how to approach the girl. "My name is Thalia; I was wondering if you were positive that Annabeth didn't die down there." Percy looked Thalia over. She looked extremely distraught, her eyes filled with exhaustion and worry. Percy wasn't sure why she knew that Annabeth wasn't dead, but she could. She could sense things in the ocean to a certain extent and was positive that she couldn't sense Annabeth.

"I can't sense her in the water, and I can normally sense people." Percy glanced towards the cliff that Annabeth had been dragged off of. "Of course, there is always the possibility that I am wrong, but I truly believe that she isn't down there." Thalia began to pace back and forth, muttering about Annabeth and how she had failed.

Percy bit the inside of her cheek as she watched Thalia pace back and forth. "I'm sorry that I can't tell you anything guaranteed." Thalia stopped pacing and gave Percy a once over.

"It's not your fault, I was in charge and I should have kept a closer eye on her. Even though I know she can take care of herself I…." Thalia shook her head, tears on the brink of bursting from her eyes. "We weren't supposed to lose anyone. Let alone Annabeth." Percy awkwardly but her arm around Thalia's shoulder as the girl let out a pained sob. "I was supposed to protect her," she said softly, looking at the ground. "I failed her."

Percy searched for what to say and decided on a promise. "I'll help you find her. She's out there I promise." Thalia looked at her for a moment before nodding.

"You're right she's out there and we are going to go get her back. I don't know where you came from Percy, but at the moment I'm glad you're here." Thalia stood up, wiping the tear streaks from her eyes. "I'm going to go talk to my team. When you're ready I can introduce you." With that she got up and headed towards the campfire, leaving Percy to mull over her thoughts as she sat alone.

"Percy, a word please." Percy was ripped from her thoughts by Artemis' voice. She regarded the goddess for a moment. She was unsure what to think of her. She looked young for a goddess and honestly not all that threatening. Percy nodded softly. Maybe the goddess would be able to help her recover her memories although she severely doubted. Artemis beckoned for her to follow. Percy looked at the various other people in the clearing. The hunters were busy setting up camp on Artemis orders. She envied the joking attitude the hunters had as they worked together to put up the silver tents they had materialized out of nowhere. The group of demigods that had come with Thalia were sitting by the campfire. Thalia still looked worse for wear, but the discussion the two had seemed to have but her slightly more at ease. The two demigods they had come to rescue looked like baby deer. The boy was connected to Clark's hip, shooting off question after question about the Greek Gods. The girl was silently staring at the fire, her eyebrows knit tightly as she looked into the flames. By now the sun was slowly rising. The sunlight reflecting off of the waves and illuminating the sky in brilliant hues of orange. Artemis sat at the edge of the cliff, her eyes on the horizon. "My brother has always been a showoff..." she muttered. Percy sat next to her and swung her feet awkwardly. She was not really sure what the goddess wanted and combined that with the goddess' extremely different behavior from when she first addressed Percy was unnerving.

"I'm not sure I understand." Percy offered. Artemis cleared her throat and looked her in the eyes. It was at that moment Percy realized that Artemis was around her age, maybe slightly older and that she was breathtaking. It was the kind of beauty that just exists without even trying. Percy hadn't met a god or goddess before, but she guessed that they all had this natural beauty that came with their power. Artemis searched her eyes for a moment before speaking.

"I know that we may have gotten off on the wrong foot, but I came to offer you a role in the hunt. You seem to have knowledge of the Godly world, so I assume you know that I represent young maidens like yourself." Percy was confused. She didn't know much about the Greek world, but she assumed the hunt was a unique experience she could have.

"What does the hunt do?"

Artemis smiled softly. "We are like a family. We travel together, hunt together, and live together. If you were to join the hunt you would be immortal barring death through battle and would have a family unlike the demi-gods at camp."

"Camp?"

Artemis seemed truly perplexed at this point. "You know of me but not of camp? Who is your godly parent?" Percy shrugged. She honestly had no idea. Artemis looked at her intrigued but shook it off after a moment. "The offer still stands. If you wish to join the hunt you can. You have great power flowing through you… I can sense it. I had to at least offer you membership." Percy considered the offer for a moment. She wasn't sure if she was ready to make such a large commitment.

"Could I have some time to think about it?" Percy knew that the proposition was amazing. Immortality as well as a family were two things she did not already have, but to make a decision based without knowing the alternatives was never a good strategy.

"You are wise beyond your years." Artemis commented. I will allow you a temporary membership if you want to experience life within the hunt without committing immediately. You will not have immortality, but I will give you a partial blessing. Before Percy could answer, the voice that had been silent since she had arrived at the clearing spoke up. 'Joining the hunt is crucial to your success. While it may not make sense yet there are things you need to do which will be much easier if you are a member of the hunt.' Hearing the voice again put Percy at ease. Having someone advise her made decisions easier, even if she was unsure of its intent.

"I accept your offer Lady Artemis" Percy bowed, while bowing was not necessarily her style, she felt that it was appropriate for the moment. Artemis smiled. Having such a powerful demigod in the hunt would greatly increase their combat abilities and she had a feeling Percy would manage to help keep many of the hunters safe.

"Very well then, I will give you a partial blessing for now. You shall feel more powerful at night and you should move with the poise and grace of a hunter." Artemis put a hand on Percy's shoulder and a warm silver light emitted from her palm. Percy felt a slight surge in her body as the energy flowed through her. She smiled at Artemis and felt good to receive a smile back. "I will bring you to my lieutenant" standing up, she motioned for Percy to follow. As Percy got to her feet, she noticed that she felt lighter on her feet. A perk of the blessing she supposed and followed her goddess towards her the camp the hunters had set up and towards her future family.

As they entered the campsite, Percy felt the eyes of the hunters slowly shift to her. Nervously, she fiddled with a bracelet on her wrist. She wasn't sure if the stares were welcoming or in disdain. Afterall, she had disrespected their Patron goddess. Uncertain, Percy kept her eyes on the dirt in front of her feet. As she shuffled behind Artemis, she felt her nerves increase with each hesitant step.

"Percy" She glanced up to see Artemis smiling warmly at her. "This is your new family. You have nothing to be afraid about. They just want to meet their new wonderful sister." Percy blushed a little at the attention and looked up. She realized that her fears were mostly a trick played by her mind. The hunters seemed genuinely excited to meet her. "This is my lieutenant Zoë. A girl around 14 or 15 years of age stepped up Artemis' left, her dark eyes searching Percy's face for something. Percy felt like the girl was severely judging her for how she had acted previously. Percy nodded at the girl and was pleasantly surprised when she nodded back.

"Thou will follow me, and I shall show thou the ropes." Percy blinked in surprise at her accent but quickly recovered as the girl turned and walked off towards the center of the camp, not even sparing a glance behind her to see if Percy was watching. As Percy hurried to catch up, the girl pointed at a large tent in the center of the camp. "That is the dining hall where we eat as a group." She continued her tour without a single glance at Percy. "Over there is where we keep the wolves and that tent over there is for weapons." They passed multiple silver tents each with a single silver rune etched into the flaps until they finally stopped by a silver tent with no markings. "This will be thou tent." Once thou claim it, thou's name will be put on it." Percy nodded and touched the tent. She quickly yanked her hand away as the flaps of the tent began to smoke. A singular rune began to be etched on the flap. Percy watched as the silver fire took shape and eventually dissipated. What was left was a silver trident glowing on the tent.

"Well that was unexpected" Zoë muttered. "It's been a long time since we've had a daughter of Poseidon. I must tell my lady." As Zoë stalked off towards the center of camp, Percy sat in front of her tent and looked at the bracelet on her right wrist. The charm on it was the exact same as the one that had just emblazoned itself on her tent. Looking between her bracelet and the tent she could only mutter out one word.

"Poseidon?"

A/N:

This took too long to write. I'm overloaded with a bunch of work to do during this quarantine and I just can't wait for summer even though we may have to spend most of it inside. Anyways I hope this chapter was good, it was kind of filler and I didn't want to make it too long just for the hell of it. Remember to be safe and stay inside. This whole social distancing thing doesn't work if people keep having get togethers.
