"Eh, nothing son, just finishing up some work before your mom comes home."
"Oh mom's already here and with uncle too, isn't that great?"

"Uh dad, you're spacing out."
"Oh yes, it is great that your uncle is here." You have no idea. He rubbed his palms together maniacally, trying to stifle an evil laugh.
"Uh dad, you sure you don't want those gloves mom bought for you, I could help with the cold you feel in your hands."
"No thank you son."
His son walked up the stairs but then stopped at the top. "Hey dad, I completely forgot why I came downstairs." He ran down towards his dad and hugged him.
"What's this for?"
"Mom said I should hug you so don't have to feel so bad after what she's gonna do to you for missing her presentation at the museum." His dad gulped. "Well see you later... hopefully" He ran upstairs.
