The Strongest Centipede
Those who can never sacrifice anything will never change anything.
"Alright, men! Operation incursio is a go! Division 2 hold the front gate and make sure no one escapes. Division 3 circle around and make sure none of them escape from the back or the sides! Division 1 and 4, breach and clear out all hostiles in the building!" Yelled the commanding officer who was standing on top of an armored truck. As soon as he finished giving out the orders the police force began mobilizing and invading the compound. 'We've been preparing for this attack for a month now. We have to succeed here or we may not get another chance.' The commander thought to himself.
The heroes themselves began mobilizing. Some went with divisions 1, 3, and 4 while others stayed with division 2. All Might himself, the number one hero, was taking the lead with divisions 1 and 4 following.
{All Might: His quirk, One for All, allows him to move at insane speeds and has the strength capable of destroying an entire city. His ranking SSS Rated}
Many of the police officers felt safe and secure with the heroes around them while others felt envy at their status.
Before they could breach the compound they started getting shot at and attacked from the building in front of them. Most ran for cover while others got gunned down. The heroes tried to block the incoming attack but villains with quirks were teleported right on top of them forcing the heroes to also fall back and regroup.
The villains started rushing but all it took was for All Might to throw a punch at their direction sending the villains flying back. All Might was glaring as he disappeared only to reappear in front of the shooting villains and knocking them unconscious. He signaled the rest to follow in after him.
'The heroes' job was supposed to extract any and all hostages while the police force dealt with the villains, however, I suppose it can't be helped. Quirkless people just can't defeat those with quirks.' Thought the Director. He wanted the police force to handle the villains to show the world that you didn't need a quick to be a hero, unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
"All Might, hurry and extract any hostages there are." Commanded the Director.
"On it, Yoshitoki Washuu" All Might replied while running around trying to find hostages but with no luck. "However so far I haven't seen any".
"Hm," Director Yoshitoki began thinking where the hostages could be but is brought out of his thinking when a small part of the roof of a dome building caves in.
"All Might go find out what that was about. It might be Jason. I'm sending in reinforcements just in case."
"Copy that!" All might stopped dead in his tracks and turned around running the other direction.
"Mount Lady! Midnight! Endeavor! Jeanist! Support All Might!" Yelled the Director as he pointed to the dome building.
Mount lady smiled as she grew in size and started running towards the building. {Mount Lady/Yu Takeyama: Her quirk, Giganticfication, allows her to increase her height exponentially making her over 15 meters. Her ranking A rated}
Midnight also started smiling but had a more serious look on her face as she hitched a ride on Mount Ladies shoulder. {Midnight/Nemuri Kayama: The 18+ only hero whose quirk, Somnambulist, allows her to release a gas from her skin that puts people to sleep though it works better on men than women. Her ranking S rated}
Jeanist also had to catch a ride with Mount Lady but his expression was concealed do to his costume covering his mouth. {Jeanist/Tsunagu Hakamata: His quirk, Fiber Master, allows him to control the fibers from clothing. His ranking SS rated.}
Endeavor, the number 2 hero, refused to ride with them as he decided to run there using his flames for boost still keeping up with them. {Endeavor/Enji Todoroki: His quirk, Hellflame, allows him to spurt fire from his body and control it at will. He's immune to fire but if he uses his quirk for too long it will drain his stamina. His ranking SS Rated}
After running a while they finally manage to make it to the building. Before they could open the door All Might appeared right beside them. Both All might and Endeavor punched the door in sending it flying across the room. The heroes rushed in looking around to see a boy with messy white hair walking away from a body with pipes sticking out of him. The boy turned and faced them showing them the blood on his mouth as it trickled to the floor. The heroes quickly acted as they ran to the boy asking if he was hurt while Midnight kneeled on the floor checking for injuries. She found none causing her to sigh in relief. She looked up at the boy to see him staring at her with empty eyes.
"Wh-" Nemuri was cut off as Endeavor yells.
"What the hell happened to him!" Endeavor yells as he points to the man lying face down full of pipes sticking out of him. Endeavor turns and faces the boy pulling him closer by the shirt. "Did you do this?!"
The boy was looking down shadowing his eyes with his hair. The boy cracked his finger and out came two glowing red tentacles from his back. Endeavor looked up in surprised as he noticed the tentacles looked a lot like Jason's only the kids were red instead of purple. He looks down at the boy to see him only centimeters from his face now. He now notices his right eye is glowing red while his left is green. He reels back in surprise but before Midoriya could attack he's pulled back by Perfect Jeanist who is using his own fibers to restrain him.
Midoriya turns his head and looks at Jeanist glaring as he unleashes two more tentacles ripping apart the fibers in the process. Once he was free he looked around the room to see All Might coming preparing to grapple him but Midorya uses his tentacles to launch himself up in the air barely dodging All Might. Shifting his head he notices Mount Lady turn bigger and try to grab him so he wraps his tentacles into a ball shape and punches her hand away, falling back down to the ground. He lands on his feet and feels heat on his back. Turning he sees Endeavour about to punch him with a fist full of fire so he wraps his tentacles around himself blocking the punch but still causing him to fly back.
Endeavour tried to follow through but is stopped when he's hit with two tentacles across his face. He looks at Midorya glaring but is grabbed and then thrown across the room.
All Might appears behind Midorya and restrains him. Nemuri quickly arrives and unleashes her quirk causing Midoriya to fall asleep while All Might held his breath and covered his mouth with his hand.
After some resistance Midoriya falls asleep.
Nemuri sighs in relief as she stands up and picks up the sleeping boy bridal style. All Might came and looked at the sleeping boy sadly as he walked over towards the now deceased Jason.
'Did this kid actually manage to beat Jason?' All Might thought.
"Arghhh! Where's that brat?!" Yelled Endeavour as he flares his flames. He looks around to see Midoriya being carried off by Midnight. Glaring at the boy he runs to the unconscious boy about to pull him off but is stopped when All Might grabbed his outstretched arm. Both Endeavour and All Might glare at one another but turn their attention as the Director radios in.
"All Might. What's the situation?" Asked Director Yoshitoki.
"We've secured one hostage."
"And Jason?"
"He's dead" All Might stares at Jason's corpse in disgust as he could see signs of cannibalism.
"I see. I suppose it's for the best. Your new assignment is to help capture the remaining scientist and villains."
"Understood." He looks at the remaining heroes "We've got new orders, let's go." The heroes nodded while Endeavour simply scoffed and began heading his own way.
Midnight continues to carry the boy outside and walks over to one of the paramedics. She hands him over and caresses Midoriyas cheek feeling guilty of not arriving sooner.
"I'm sorry," she says while frowning. "I wish I could've been here for you...but-" she stops herself not wanting to make excuses. She turns and leaves not seeing a tear fall from Midoriyas' eye.
5 hours Later
Yoshitoki Washuu, the director, was yelling out orders as many police officers and heroes were arrested, villains. The villains with quirks we're put separately from the ones without quirks and the evil scientist we're transported in a different vehicle. Once everything was in order Yoshitoki walked up to All Might and the other heroes who were surrounding the corpse of Yamori.
"How did this happen?" asked Yoshitoki.
"I'm not sure but I believe it was done by-" All Might stops himself. He didn't want to say anything without any proof.
"I see. You never claim anything without enough information. I'll leave it to you for now." He looks at the body with disgust and wonders what sort of monster could have done this. "One of Aogiri Tree's member has just died, they're most likely going to retaliate in someway. We'll have to keep a watchful eye for their movements." Yoshitoki walks away with All Might following close behind.
"I noticed that new task force didn't participate" All might says while looking around.
"The task force is still finishing the last touches but they'll be completed by the time you start teaching." Yoshitoki says while smiling at All Might.
All Might smiles "So you heard huh?"
"Not to worry our task force will deal with the villains now, you just handle teaching. Lord knows how bad you are at teaching." All Might and Yoshitoki share a laugh.
"So what's the task force going to be called?"
"We we're thinking of calling them Doves'. But the recruits have taken a liking in calling one them the white reaper."
"Whats his name?"
"Arima Kishou"
Back to Jasons body Endeavor can be seen standing next to his corpse. Endeavor glares at the corpse and his flames burn hotter than before. 'I swear if that boy ever steps out of line again I'll be the one to stop him for good. He walks off into the abyss still thinking about that boy's eyes.
One week later
Midoriya woke up from his nap as the teacher came in the room.
"Alright then class quite down now. Your third-year students now, meaning you need to take your future into account now." He waves some papers in his hands. "But I have a pretty good feeling that most of your want to enter the hero field" The classroom burst with noise as the students begin showing off their quirks.
"Yes yes you all have amazing quirks but remember, no powers are allowed to be used in school."
"Come on teach." A boy with blond hair says while leaning back on the chair and his feet on the table. "These kids got nothing on me." He looks at the teacher grinning.
The class looks at him with anger and start arguing. "You do have the second-best test results so getting into U.A. High isn't so far fitch."
"That's right." Bakugo stands on the table now. "That's the number one school meaning it's the most suitable place for me. Just you watch ill become even more famous than All Might!"
"That's right, Midoriya you going to U.A right?" The teacher says nonchalantly.
Bakugo turns and glares at Midoriya as the entire class laughs. "I've actually changed-" Midoriya is cut off as Bakugo slams his hand on his table blowing it up.
"Listen here Deku, if you even think for a second that you could possibly become a hero then your a bigger idiot than I give you credit for!" Bakugo lifts Midoriya by the shirt. "Why would they possibly want someone like you when they can have someone like me."
Midoriyas white hair covers his eyes. "Your strong Bakugo, however..." He looks up revealing one red and black eye, *Crack "you're getting ahead of yourself" he slaps Bakugos hand away. "I won't be attending U.A high." Midoriya sits back down on his chair while looking out the window.
Bakugo glares at Midoriya but before he could say anything the teacher tells him to sit down.
After a while, the bell rings and Midoriya packs up but is stopped as Bakugo walks up to him. "I don't know what you're playing at but you better not apply to U.A. Or else." Bakugo grins evilly as he and his goons walk away.
Midoriya walks home after school is over and is crossing under a bridge. Suddenly a slime villain sneaks up from behind him and tries to wrap himself around Midoriya but he jumps away.
"Come on kid, it'll only hurt a little so give me your body" The slime villain tries to latch on again only to be pierced by the Midoriyas quirk. "Oi oi oi, had my body not been made of slime that could've killed me." He looks up to see another pierce his head where his brain would be. 'This kid is actually trying to kill me' He thought to himself while moving his head as Midoriya almost hit his eye.
'I see' He didn't dodge any of my attacks except for when I aimed for his eye. *Crack Midoriya cracks his finger. Then I'll do this. Midoriya sends one tentacle for his eye but the slime dodges. The slime continues to try and dodge not realizing another one coming going for his eye. The slime looks to the right and sees one tentacle about to pierce his eye.
'No! I can't dodge this' He closes his eye.
"Haha have no fear for I am here!"
Midoriya cuts his attack off as he notices All Might appear the slime. The slime turns in fear and tries to run away but All Might throws a punch blowing him apart.
Midoriya crosses his arms in front of him trying to protect himself from the wind pressure. Finally, the wind stops and all that is left is bits of pieces of the slime.
"Sorry about that kid, didn't mean to get you caught up in our... fight" All Might look at Midoriya with suspicious eyes until finally, he remembers him. "Wait a sec, your that kid from before. I gotta say I wasn't expecting to see you again."
"..."
"Hmm, well thanks kid your were a big help. Distracting this evil-doer." He raises a bottle showing the remains of the slime.
"..."
"I have to go turn this dude into the police but remember Go Beyond Plus Ultra! And I'm sure you to could become a hero!" All Night says while smiling and putting his thumb up.
"I have no intention of becoming a hero." Midoriya says while turning his back on All Might and walking away.
"Wh- but your quirk? You manage to defeat one of the most wanted Villains in Japan, surely you must've felt like becoming a hero?!"
"I didn't defeat Yamori with my quirk, and no, I didn't feel like a hero when I kiLlEd him." Midoriya half faces him showing his red eye. All Might and Midoriya stare at one another the pressure growing thicker.
"I see, sorry, my mistake" All Might turns and jumps away and Midoriya continues his trip back home.
All Might too lost in thought doesn't realize that the slime villain slipped out his pocket
'That kid doesn't want to be a hero? Maybe the horror of Jason was too much. Not that I could blame him. I read Jasons files. He would torture his victims and then practice cannibalism, sorry kid. If only I had gotten there sooner." he thought to himself.
Suddenly he coughs up blood and steams comes off his body. 'Shit! I've run out of time' He lands in an alleyway and reverts to a skeleton form. He wipes the blood off his mouth and walks out of the alleyway. All Might gets startled as an explosion takes place a few blocks from him. His hand reaches for his pocket only for him to realize the bottle isn't on him. Another explosion takes place. Worrying he rushes to the commotion still in his skeleton form.
"Shit I forgot to go the manga store" Midoriya sighed as he walked around a huge crowd of people. "The hell is up with this crowd?" He looks up to see explosions going off. "Damn, someone should deal with that" He continues to walk but overhears people saying how some slime villain is holding a schoolboy hostage.
Getting curious he walks past the crowd to see the same slime villain who tried to kill him. 'Hmm? I could've sworn All Might had him.' He thinks to himself as he notices the heroes quirks had no effect on the villain. 'Seems no one noticed the slimes weak spot, then again heroes don't gouge a persons eye out.'
Taking a closer look he notices Bakugo isn't he one who's been taken as a hostage. 'Even the strong can be powerless Bakugo, take this lesson to heart.' Midoriya turns to leave but one finale glance stops him. He sees bakugos eyes. He remembers that not too long ago he was powerless against the strong. Without thinking Midoriya runs forward startling the heroes and civilians.
"Hey kid! Get back here!" yelled one of the heroes.
'What? Why am I running into the fray?'
The slime recognizes Midoriya and sends an explosion towards him. Midoriya dodges and slides a few feet away from the slime. Midoriyas' eye turns red and he unleashes his kagune. Four glowing red tentacles appear. Standing up he cracks his finger. *crack
'Why am I risking my life for someone like him!?'
Midoriya rushes in again and sends two tentacles to attack the slimes' eyes while the other two pull Bakugo out. The slime tries to blow Midoriya away but Midoriya tanks all the attacks smiling.
'Deku has a quirk?' Bakugo thought of himself.
'Do I still want to be a hero?' Thought Midoriya while moving forward. He pulls bakugo out of the slime and throws him towards the heroes.
'No that can't be it can it?'
The slime gets angry and swipes at midoriya sending him flying. Midoriya rolls and brings himself back up but is grabbed and slammed to the ground over and over again until finally he's thrown and pierced by one of the pipes sticking out from the walls. He coughs up blood and smiles. The slime releasing his frustration throws debris at Midoriya burying him. Midoriya continues to lay under the rubble still pierced by the pipe. He thinks over and over, why did he run into the fire!
"HAHAHAHAHA that's what you get kid." He looks to the crowd "You see? Your pathetic heroes couldn't even save one boy! HAHAHAHAHA"
The crowd looks in horror as the boy is believed to have been killed. The heroes weren't fairing any better. They couldn't do anything to save any of the boys. Suddenly a newcomer arrives.
"Oi what's all this commotion about?"
The crowd, heroes, and villain look to see the pro hero Midnight walk over to the villain. The crowd cheers and hope fills there chest.
"Ms. Midnight! Be careful the villain has already killed one kid and his body is immune to physical attacks!" Yelled a hero.
"I see thank for the info" she turns her head and faces the villain.
The slime checks out her body and licks his mouth. "I can't wait to get ahold of your body."
"Oh trust me, you won't be grabbing anyone anymore." she said while smiling and pulling a whip out. She whips the air creating a crack sound. The slime moves forward ready to grab her but she also moves forward and tries to whip his eye but he dodges and backs away.
'Damn so she realized it huh?! I'll have to be careful.' He stays in place and this time send his body to grab Midnight. She continues to dodge and try to whip his eyes.
'I need to get closer to unleash my quirk but I can't if he just ends up grabbing me.' She rushes in avoiding his slime and rips out her sleeves but he sees this and slaps her away.
She catches herself and stands up ready to face him again.
Back in the crowd, Bakugo glares at his fist. 'Dammit Deku! I didn't need saving! Now, look at yourself.' He looks up and glares at the slime 'It's all your fault!' He thinks to himself.
All Might finally arrives and overhears a conversation about a kid with white hair and tentacles die from the slime. His stomach drops from the news. He looks at his fist 'useless! I couldn't even save that kid! I've failed him twice now!' looking up he sees Midnight fighting the slime.
Midnight and the slime continue their dance until finally, Midnight whips his left eye causing him to scream in pain. Midnight seeing her opportunity rushes in and unleashes her quirk but suddenly a screaming bakugo comes and starts firing explosions at him. The slime is blown back away from Midnight but Bakugo was right where the slims were originally causing him to be the one to fall unconscious from Midnight's quirk. Midnight looks down at Bakugo and curses under her breath. She looks up to see the smile look down at her and grin as he grabs ahold of Midnight.
"Hahaha! Now, this is what I'm talking about" He starts to fondle her breast and ass as she tries to fight back and escape.
'Dammit! I can't get out!' She tries to use her quirk but none of it actually reached the slimes nose as he would move it around. She could feel him grab her breast, her ass, and her pussy. Gritting her teeth she begged in her mind for someone to save her.
Suddenly a small explosion happens to the side of them forcing everyone's attention to it. The debris begins being pushed to the side revealing Midoriya laying there still pierced. Coughing up blood and chuckling he stands up in a ghoulish way while saying "I've finally figured it out. Why I saved Bakugo. Why I jumped in the fight." he slouches forward after finally unsticking himself. "I just love it!" He looks up smiling with his left eye glowing red. "I love the idea of being a hero!" The crowd gasps as Midoriyas' head starts twitching side to side. He cracks his finger and unleashes his kagune.
Midnight recognizes the boy but can't say anything as the slime has her mouth covered.
All Might stares in shock and relief as the boy is still alive.
Bakugo reawakens just in time to see Midorya rise up. 'He's alive!?'
The slime glares viciously at the boy as he yells out "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO KILL YOU!" He unleashes his slime towards Midoriya as he simply rushes forward and unleashes all of his tentacles at his eyes. The slime managed to protect his good eye but the other one damaged by Midnight is gouged out.
The slime screams in pain writhing on the floor, but Midoriya doesn't relent as he aims for the other one and quickly gouges the other eye. The villain is now blind and swinging aimlessly. Midoriya pulls Midnight out and lays her behind him. He walks forward but is stopped as Midnight holds his shoulder.
"Don't. Thank you for the save but I'll take it from here. After I'm done we'll have ourselves a talk." she walks ahead but turns to see Midoriya walking with her.
"Don't overexert yourself." he says while grinning.
Before Midnight can say anything the slime roars in anger as it lashes it's tentacles toward there direction blindly. They both move out of the way and move in trying to close the distance.
'Look at them risking their lives to stop him and here I am...' All Might glares at his fist and transforms into his bulky form. 'A hero must always be prepared to give his life' finally in his bulk form he glares at the slime and rushes in zooming past Midnight and Midoriya surprising them of his arrival.
"DETROIT SSSSMMMMMAAASSSSSSHHHHHHH!" All Might clench his butt cheeks and punches the slime villain changing the very whether around them. The villains remain scatter everywhere and the fire that once surrounded them is extinguished by the wind. Midoriya and Midnight were sent flying back but caught themselves.
'This pressure!' Midoriya looks up to All Might with his hands in front of his face 'He really is the strongest isn't he!'
Finally, the wind died down and All Might put the slime in a bottle. He looked to the crowd and raised his fist. "Don't be afraid because I am here!"
The crowd roars in amazement as they cheer All Mights names. The heroes and police quickly secures the area. All Might handed the police the bottle of slime and quickly left.
Midoriya and Bakugo were being lectured by Midnight while the other heroes were praising Bakugo. After the lecture Midnight held Midoriya back and brought him elsewhere from the crowd.
They both sat in a coffee shop, with Midoriya waiting for her to say something.
Finally, she begins "Do you remember me from last week?"
Midoriya thinks back to then and remembers what he did. He attacked the heroes in a blind frenzy. The torture, the exhaustion, and the insanity had taken its toll on him. Back then he didn't know who they were. When Endeavour showed aggression he attacked.
Midoriya bows his head "I'm sorry for causing you trouble"
Midnight raises her hand "No, you don't need to apologize for that. That situation could've been handled better, It's actually me who should apologize. I couldn't save you in time"
Midoriya is quiet for a second then responds "I don't blame you for what I experienced that week. You heroes aren't omniscient. You can't be expected to know every single thing can you?"
"But that's the thing! We knew where Jason's hideout was for some time but we didn't invade due to the lack of information. If we had invaded earlier then we could've spared you the pain! So please don't forgive me! Hate me! Scream at me!" She closes her eyes tears spilling out of her eyes. Suddenly she feels a hand caress her cheek. She looks up to see Midoriya smiling gently at her. He brings her into a hug comforting her.
'No this is wrong! I should be the one comforting him not the other way around!' she cries a little harder as she tries to comfort Midoriya by rubbing his back and playing with his hair.
Midoriya backs away and stands up. "Thank you for rescuing me" He bows his head and walks away.
Midnight stands up and faces his back. "I understand you might not want to talk about what happened, but, call me if you ever need anything." Midoriya stops walking for a few seconds and nods his head. He continues his walk back home leaving a smiling Midnight.
As he reaches his home he's stopped by Bakugo. "Hey Deku! I don't want you getting any ideas in your head, you hear me! I didn't need rescuing! And as for your hidden quirk. I don't know why you kept it hidden but know this, your still weaker than me you got that!" Bakugo turns and storms off.
"I guess you didn't learn anything" Midoriya continued his walk but is stopped by another person.
"NOW HOLD UP THERE YOUNGSTER!" All Might appears in front of Midoriya.
"..."
"NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU MUST BE THINKING HOW DID I AVOID THOSE PERSISTENT REPORTERS? WELL, THAT WAS NOTHING FOR ME BECAUSE I AM ALL MI-" All Might coughs up blood and reverts back to his skeleton form. This surprises Midoriya as he's never seen this form yet.
"Oi, what happened there All Might?" Midoryia walks forward. "Looks like you ran out of juice. But I've never seen this before." He stops in front of All Might helping him back to his feet.
"I wouldn't expect you to. This is a secret that most of the world doesn't know." He pulls up his shirt to reveal an injury in his stomach. "This wound was from an enemy a while back, but because of this injury I could only go hero for about three hours a day and every day my power weakens."
"I see. That's too bad. If you're gone then the villains are going to do wild."
"Exactly. Right now I'm the symbol of peace but that symbol is fading. We need a new one and I'm looking for a successor to inherit my power."
"Inherit?" Midoriya is reminded of Jason's needle and what is allowed to happen. 'Does he mean to tell me someone has to eat him to gain his power?' He thinks to himself.
"My quirk is One for All. Essentially it's a stockpiling quirk and with every new generation, the quirk becomes more and more powerful. I'm able to transfer this power onto another host by having said person eat a strand of my hair. It requires DNA to work you see." He says while rubbing his head sheepishly.
Midoriya smiles thankful that no one has to eat him to get his power. "So, have you found a successor yet?"
"Yes." All Might raises his fist forward towards Midoriya. "I want you to be the next symbol of peace."
"Why?!" Midoriya opens his eyes in shock. "Why me?! After what I did to Yamori how can you give such a quirk to someone like me?! I killed him! I consumed him! I committed the ultimate taboo, I'm unworthy of such a gift..." tears fall from his eyes "so why put your faith in me?"
"Because...you moved forward into the fire when no one else did. You were prepared to give your life for someone who didn't appreciate what you did for them. Heroes are heroes because we do things, not for pay or fame but because it's the right thing to do. And you young boy... have the essence of being a true hero!"
Midoriyas eye stops crying as he looks up to All Might "Can I still become a hero?" Midoriya asks while fidgeting.
"No... you can become the greatest hero" All Might says while grinning.
Midoriya looks at All Might, face full of determination and says "I-"
