Chapter 2

Vegeta sat on his chair and watched the dark universe through a screen before him. Every now and then a galaxy crossed his vision like a blinking star. With his fingers he whisked over the screen again in a swift movement and the picture moved on to show him another angle of the cosmos.

He stopped on one peculiar planet though, to look at it closely. Narrowing his eyes he couldn't stop bearing his fangs at the screen in bewilderment. Soon revenge was finally in his reach, after so many years...his blood thirst had kept him moving forward and now he was given a chance he had to take.

"You wanted to see me?" he heard a familiar voice speak up behind him and his thoughts were interrupted shortly.

Without turning around Vegeta answered "You can leave us alone, Nappa." And the commander left the both men alone.

It took some moments before Vegeta finally spoke up. He straight came to the point. "How's the woman doing in your division?"

"You mean Chichi?" Kakarott wondered, forgetting for a moment to who he was speaking to. "She manages herself." He told him honestly.

"I've heard she's quite the beast." The prince stated in a matter of fact and Kakarott wondered why he showed so much interest in her. As he had his mate already, and she was as well a feisty one, the prince shouldn't be interested in another woman besides Bulma.

"I can't deny her…allurement." The captain answered. "Mostly all of my men are beaten half to death. They wouldn't leave her alone…" Kakarott told Vegeta while scratching the back of his spiky head. "I'm sorry, I haven't thought about such situations as I recommended her."

"So she's not only appealing but strong as well?" Now the prince finally turned his attention to Kakarott who could just nod in agreement, not caring that his statement was totally ignored. "You could say so."

"Well, now that is….perfect." Vegeta smiled triumphantly only to stay in silence afterwards.

"Uh…may I ask why you're asking for her?" Kakarott tried to solve the riddle after some seconds. He didn't really get it at all.

Vegeta inhaled deeply. "Bring her." He suddenly ordered a quite confused Kakarott who felt as if he got hit brutally.

"Uh…now?"

"I don't like repeating myself."

With that said, Kakarott just bowed slightly and left the room with wide steps. Still wondering what Vegeta wanted from her.

Reaching her room rather quickly as he had switched from walking to flying, he positioned himself in front of the door and bellowed a little too loud "Open up!"

The door slid to the side and a rather wide eyed Chichi stood before him. What in the world did this man want from her now?

Here she had one day without being approached at all before lunch and now she was pestered by him.

"What?" she hissed but stopped herself from snapping at him. He was totally in captain mode…

"The prince wants to see you. You have ten seconds." His voice cut the air before he pushed a button and her door closed again. Hearing how she got everything ready inside, he counted to ten inside of his head.

Why was he feeling so irritated all of a sudden? He couldn't explain it himself.

Once he reached ten, the door opened up again and Chichi stomped out. "I'm ready!"

Looking at her a little too long he closed his eyes before he spun around in his heels and showed her the way.

"I'm sorry for asking, but why is it that I have to go to the prince?" she somehow meekly wanted to know. She never had seen him that much at all. And why should he be concerned about her suddenly? Could it be this thing with almost killing his men was backfiring now? Hiding her unsure feeling she saw her captain looking down at her with a hard expression in his eyes. Not answering her at all.

She gulped. This didn't look good…

Once they reached the bridge, Kakarott announced her attendance and pushed her inside. Turning around to leave he was quite surprised another time as Vegeta told him to stay.

Little Chichi shivered uncontrollably but was able to hide it from her prince.

Probably only Kakarott recognized the heaving of her small shoulders. So she still was just a girl, wasn't she? Her stubbornness might have been a simple façade in order to protect herself. Narrowing his eyes he waited for Vegeta to speak.

"So you're the one beating up my men?" his voice questioned her quite bemusedly.

She tried not to give in as she held his gaze. "Yes."

"Well, that's quite brave. Or rather stupid? What would you say?" he questioned her, enjoying the way she tried to fight her fear.

"I would call it self-defense." She answered honestly. "But if I have to chose between the given options I might call it rather brave then stupid."

"Hn." He smiled wickedly before he stepped closer to Chichi, observing every inch of her body. Kakarott's skin prickled dangerously.

"Interesting…" lifting her chin up to look at her face he let go of her just seconds after. Chichi didn't understand anything at all.

"Did you have a closer look at her, Kakarott?" Vegeta asked her captain who stiffened at the attention he suddenly received. "Those eyes are remarkable." The prince continued. "Nobody who loves fighting would be able to not try to dominate someone with such eyes…"

"Are you referring to someone special?" Kakarott couldn't help but ask this question. He thought it was weird to begin with. What was his prince planning on doing with his soldier all of a sudden?

Ignoring the tall sayajin, Vegeta turned his attention back to Chichi who couldn't help but flinch. Somehow she was glad her captain was still with her.

Although she would never admit this in front of him…She couldn't describe it, but with him she felt different.

"How old are you?" the prince questioned her abruptly.

"Twenty-four."

"And why are you here?"

"I passed the exam and am now a fighter in training, ready for any mission to finish my education." Her voice sounded like a robot and hid any emotion. Lucky for her, as she felt like a nervous furball…

"Are you willing to do what you're told?"

"My top priority is to follow orders. But…" she added boldly, inhaling deeply one time to stable her voice"…I'm not the toy of men. So if this is about me humiliating the male gender, I'm sorry to say that an apology is out of the question. Other than that I have no problems with authority, if there is one."

Okay, she might have gone a little overboard with her last statement Use your brain before you speak! she reminded herself silently.

Vegeta couldn't help but laugh out loud one time. "So you say, you're seeing yourself in the same position as a man unless you think he is your superior?"

"I do." She answered wholeheartedly, while she felt one drop of sweat wander down between her breasts. "And I am not willing to see myself as something men can play with." Chichi reasoned as she questioned herself why for god's sake she just wouldn't shut up her mouth! "I'd like to be treated equally to them. I'm as much a soldier as they are."

Vegeta chuckled darkly. "Nothing a men can play with?" he repeated before he sat down once again. "And what if I order you to lower your status in order to be played around?"

Looking at him quite baffled, Chichi and Kakarott turned their heads to their prince. What did he mean by that?

"I don't quite understand…" Chichi said through clenched teeth.

"I'm giving you a mission." Vegeta crossed his arms slowly.

"A mission? So suddenly? I -" she was cut short when the prince shot her a glare. Trying to hold in her anger and fear she obliged and waited for him to explain it to her before she would bombard him with questions.

"Have you ever heard of the man named Freiza?" Vegeta asked the both of them.

Chichi shook her head no, Kakarott answered low. "He was responsible for us losing our home planet fifty years ago. Killing almost every one of our species, only a few were able to escape his hands. He tried to extinct our race and killed children and men while enslaving women. After cutting their tails off for eternity, he was successful in selling them off to different races. Ever since then he was known as the one who deals with species. And our kinds obviously had the highest prices as we are known as the most dangerous..."

"That's what most of you think. As only a few know, even now Freiza is still searching and hoping he would find the last of us." Vegeta continued. "The reason why we're up here is to find and kill him. That's the only mission all of us have to follow."

Chichi whimpered slightly and couldn't stop the shivering. She always believed the tales about the The Doomhad been what they were called: tales. When Vegeta laid his eyes on her once again she felt like a little monkey in a cage. Hopelessly extradited.

"I want the both of you to approach him in order to analyze his weaknesses." Looking at Chichi he smiled unfriendly. "I believe you're able to convince him..."

"But I…" her voice almost broke.

Kakarott shot forward with big steps, surprising Chichi as much as the other man in the room. "Vegeta, I can't let you send her to accompany me! She has no idea what danger this might include. In addition I don't think she knows what it means to handle a man, or that monster! If it's simple analyzing I can do very well manage on my own without any disturbances!"

Chichi couldn't help but feel even more irritated than ever. So she was a disturbance now? So he didn't want her as a companion? Wasn't she enough? Did he think she couldn't do it?!

"I understand your concern, Kakarott." Vegeta added sarcastically. "But it's just giving him special service, as I don't think you're able to do that for him..."

"But she's still a virgin with no experience at all! She didn't receive that kind of education!" Kakarott roared by now and Chichi closed her eyes in shock as her heart beat wildly. What was this conversation about now? She didn't get it at all. Why was her corporal status being mentioned all of a sudden? And why in the world did her captain had to say it like this?! A light growl escaped her lips but neither of them both was able to hear it.

"Her virginity is not of any concern in this matter..." the prince whispered dangerously now as if to say he was tired of dealing with idiots. "Personal feelings have no right to interfere or else this mission might fail completely." He glared at the captain to demonstrate his status. He didn't want to discuss this. His word was absolute.

He couldn't care less about the worry Kakarott had for this girl. She was just one thing he needed in order to get rid of the purple pest. Such things as emotions had to be ignored in times of war.

It became awfully quiet while Kakarott's anger turned the air heavy. Vegeta just looked at Chichi calmly while waiting for her response. He wouldn't accept a No. And he knew by looking at her, that she knew so too.

"I...will do it." She finally announced as she went past her captain and Vegeta smirked. Kakarott on the other hand smashed the wall beside him with his fist forcefully and left an image of his fist on it. He was barely under control, but Chichi tried to ignore him. This wasn't easy as his presence felt like pure electricity.

Yet on the other hand it was her decision. And she was more than just delighted to be of some use to her prince and her folk. If her captain liked her as a partner or not!

"Is this your last word?" the low voice of the man behind her wanted to know and Chichi couldn't help herself but feel as if he was upset with her.

Not turning around she gripped her hands into fists until her nails bored themselves into her palms hurtfully while she straightened her back. She would show him what she was capable of.

"Yes."

"You're about to leave this ship at Ten-point-zero-zero tomorrow." Vegeta explained her emotionlessly before he threw a transmitter into her hands. "I await information in about one week. Progress is acquired as soon as possible. If you have not made any until ten days after your departure, you don't have to come back at all, understand?"

Chichi stood there quite dumbfounded while looking at the little technical thing between her fingers. She only had used this thing one time in her training back on their planet. She wasn't quite sure if she remembered correctly how it worked. Looking at Kakarott now she was totally ignored by him.

"Understood?" Vegeta bellowed at her as she wouldn't answer him. She flinched slightly before strengthening her composure.

"Yes..."

"Good." Looking at the captain, Vegeta nodded one time. "You're dismissed."
