Early and bright in the morning, Jesse woke up before Homura as he checked if his luggage was there as he checked his list before making a piece of toast to eat and petting Homura to wake her up as she blinked to realize that it wasn't a dream, she was still there and still a raven before seeing a piece of toast in front of her.
She gladly took the piece in front of her and pecked at it until it was gone before Jesse heard his name called and he took his luggage before setting Homura on his head so he didn't want to hit her with his luggage by accident.
Homura shivered at how cold it was outsideas she ruffled her feathers as she had seen most birds do when they're molting or try to warm themselves up, Jesse noticed Homura's behavior as he reached up to gently pet her head before noticing a red ribbon she had found which made him look twice at the ribbon before moving her to the ground and tied the ribbon around her neck as she cooed at the red ribbon. "Alright, let's get on the boat." He said helping her perch onto his arm before walking down the hallway of the ship before bumping into someone and Homura fell because her wing wasn't healed enough for her to fly as she landed on the ground with a thud as the boy who Jesse bumped into picked Homura up and stroked her wing to help her relax.
And it helped her relax from the pain of falling on the ground, Jesse let out the breath he held in his lungs before seeing her alright before he apologized for not seeing him.
"It's alright mate, and I must say, she's quite a beauty. I've never seen a raven like this." He said in a southern accent much like Jesse as she noticed the crocodile on his back as she perched onto Jesse's shoulder with ease before climbing into his blue hair and rested there which surprised the Aussie of how smart Homura was.
"She's a smart one as well, I must say, she's full of surprises. Isn't that right Shirley?" He asked the crocodile on his back as it gave a growl which shocked both Jesse and Homura before they decided to talk about some stuff as he introduced himself as Jim Cook as did Jesse.
"This here is Homura." He said as she cawed as she was saying hello, Jesse noticed the bandages around Jim's other eye and was curious about them before asking. "What happened to your eye?" He asked as Jim flinched and nearly placed his hand over his bandaged eye while Homura was staring at him, mostly at his bandaged eye.
'I sense...something like magic...what is it?' She thought as Jim rubbed the back of his head awkwardly before chuckling with nervousness within that Homura could easily sense through as Jim began talking.
"W-Well...um...when me and Shirley were little, we went around the outside of my house for poacher traps and Shirley nearly got caught until I pushed her out of the way and then we fell, I remember how shocked my father was when I came home but he was still happy that I was alive." He said as Jesse stared in awe as Homura cawed before Jesse snapped out of it and gently scratched her chin which earned some coos before waving off to Jim as they walked around before bumping into someone else.
"Would you watch where you're going next time and do something about that bird on your head." A rude voice said as Jesse looked up and began sweating knowing he just bumped into a rich kid as Homura cawed at the rude rich boy. 'I am not doing anything wrong! If I were human again, I would slap you!' She thought as she cawed at the rich kid.
"Name's Adrian Gecko, get that in your skull." Adrian said in a cold tone as his cold grey eyes glared at Homura who gave a hiss at him.
"Jeez, he was rude." He said taking Homura off of his head and began walking around to find his room on the boat before seeing another student but Homura began hissing and cawing while ruffling her feathers at the male as Jesse tried to get her calm but she was thrashing as her rage was going on as he walked forward.
"Better keep your pet on a tight leash." He said as Homura hissed louder at him and took a defensive position like an owl defending its young. 'Pet?! I am no pet!!' She thought angrily as she cawed at the boy who smirked.
"In case you're wondering, the name's Axel, Axel Brodie." He said walking away as Jesse walked to his room that he finally found as he opened it to see Jim sitting on one of the beds and Jesse sat on the other bed with Homura laying down before she moved to the bathroom noting that she has not washed since her transformation.
"Let's get you washed up pretty bird." He smiled as he turned the water on in the sink and got it pretty warm for Homura to wash in as she relaxed into the water. 'This is better!' She thought as Jesse took some of his shampoo and washed her feathers and body gently before noticing Jesse smiling at her before pulling her wings to her feathery chest only to realize that she wasn't human anymore so she may not worry about being naked.
"Whoops, sorry, I forgot." He said rubbing the back of his head with a soapy hand as he turned the water off and dried her off with his towel gently as he reapplied the bandages after taking the dirty ones off as she cooed at the feeling of being washed and dried as she mentally let out a relieved sigh.
"I guess we all should head to bed before Viper comes in and sees that we're still awake." Jim said in a serious tone as Jesse took it well and dressed in his pjs and got under the covers of the bed as Homura slept on his pillow after fluttering her feathers and nuzzling Jesse's hair.
She felt tears as she felt her human self reach out and want to caress his cheek only to realize that she couldn't do so knowing that he could disappear if she held feelings for him just like how she tried to stop Madoka from making her wish...Madoka...she wondered if she was alright…
The thought of her friend brought tears to her eyes before she fell into a deep sleep.
Before Jim closed his one eye, for a split second, he thought to have seen a girl near Jesse only to blink and see the raven near him.
'Was that raven...a girl?' He thought before sleep took over and snuggled into the blankets.
