Guest: Good concept of story, but can you explain the concept of being a "misfit?"
Somebody who isn't really evil or does bad to others, but is still doesn't quite fit in with society.

Super Misfits

Chapter 2

The sun had finished setting and nightfall was upon the facility. The guards went through a shift change to exchange for night watch. After everyone had settled down and mostly everyone was asleep, Haunt was ready.

Haunt looked up at the moon and began thinking. 'Perfect, now I can continue my plan. If I remember correctly, I'm looking for Block J and it's on the sixth floor. I have to strike quickly and efficiently.' He thought to himself.

Haunt sprinted from the bush to the facility's wall, and scaled up it by using his speed trick. He flipped up and perched on top of the wall, observing the courtyard. He noticed guards patrolling their own corners. 'If I can get the goggles off of one of them, it'll help me scout this place.' He thought to himself.

Right as the guard he was near turned a corner, Haunt pounced at him, knocking him down to the ground. Haunt then landed another hit to the guard's head to assure he was knocked out. "Sorry, but I need these more than you do." Haunt said as he removed the goggles from the guard's face and put them on. Haunt was instantly able to see much more clearly.

Haunt then sprinted for the wall of the main facility, and split himself into several pieces standing on each other's shoulders to level himself with the sixth floor. Due to being split into so many pieces, his bodies were now extremely transparent which made him hard to see. The piece on top pulled something out from under his new leaf jacket. 'I'm glad I picked this up in the woods.' The piece thought to himself.

It turns out that Haunt had picked up a land mine from a base in the woods. The piece stuck it to the wall and touched it, followed by immediately merging down on the ground to avoid it. The land mine blew a hole in the wall, leaving a lot of smoke. A piece of Haunt jumped through the smoke, followed by several pieces merging into it, forming Haunt's whole body again.

Thanks to his goggles, Haunt saw that many guards were prepared to attack him, so he split three pieces off of him and sent them forward to knock them down the same way he did before. They then merged together by a lever that controlled door locks. Haunt flipped it, unlocking the doors of the no longer sleeping residents of Block J.

Many different people walked out of their rooms, with many of them asking what was going on. Haunt walked forward with his goggles on. "I'm here to teach you the truth. If you wish to run free with me, free of their rules, grab a hold of my hand." He said as pieces of him appeared in front of everyone with a stretched out hand. Only six of the residents grabbed the hand of the piece in front of them.

Haunt then sent a piece flying through the air, outside of the facility walls. He then reunited his pieces with that one, acting as a complicated teleport, and he brought the six residents with him. One of them then spoke. "You said you've come to tell us the truth. What is it?" They asked.

Haunt then put up his hand. "All will be revealed soon enough, for we don't have much time. You six have passed my first test, you trusted me even though you've never met me. That shows some bravery, which is what I'm looking for. I'm here to help you, which is why for now we must run for the mountains. It is there where I will tell you about what is going on here." He said.

The group then made their way to mountains up north. There were two of them, and they held caves hidden among the vegetation growing over the land. The true final touch that brought everything together was the waterfall leading to the northern beach. Haunt led his six new companions to one of the caves in the mountain. They took stones in the cave and put them together to act as chairs.

Haunt then spoke. "It's time. Time I tell you the truth. These people, the ones that put us here. They don't truly believe in us." He said.

They were curious. "What do you mean?" One of them asked.

Haunt took a breath. "I was sent here because of an overreaction, and I arrived two months ago. In that time, I was curious about what they had planned for me, so I took the time to study this island and how it works to uncover the secrets nobody would ever tell us. I was able to do this because of my power." Haunt said, as two pieces appeared behind him.

The six were amazed being able to stop and truly witness his power. Haunt continued. "I am able to exist everywhere by dividing my soul. I evaded detection by splitting into smaller and smaller parts, covering more ground, seeing more, finding more, learning everything. I had to act as if they had control over me until I was able to finalize my plan and strike at the perfect moment, and I heard the people in Block J would be perfect for what I had in mind." He said.

The six were at the edge of their seats, waiting to hear where he was going. "To better prove my claims, I am going to ask what exactly they were trying to teach you." Haunt asked of them.

A girl whose hair appeared to be made of red thorny vines spoke up. "They were trying to teach me how to avoid using my thorns because they could be hazardous to the people around me." She said.

A pale girl in a purple cloak butted in. "They were basically teaching me the same thing, they said I could be hazardous as well." She said.

The other four then joined in. "Me too." "They told me that as well." "Same." "Me as well."

Haunt just chuckled as his pieces reformed together. "Just as I thought. These people don't really see us as misfits. Well, they do, but they don't see us as misfits because of our behavior, they see us as misfits because they think our powers are defective, unsafe, and they find a way to use that as an excuse." Haunt said.

The six realized that what he was saying made sense. They were all being taught how to be 'less dangerous.' The vine-haired girl stood up. "So what do we do?"

Haunt jumped atop the stone he was sitting on. "My goal is to end this oppressive judgement. I'm going to show these people that we can solve problems our own way. I'm going to solve a problem these 'heroes' have yet to, and bring the proof back to my hometown to show that we can survive on our own and solve problems just like they can, and I believe that you are the ones to help me. I believe that together we can rise and do anything."

Haunt's speech spoke to them. They weren't sure what it was, but he had a natural sense of charisma and leadership that motivated them. All six stood up and cheered for him.

Haunt smiled. "I'm glad you're on board, but we're going to have to test our skills before we even think about leaving this island. We're going to have to train."
