Day 1 Part 1
Dawn put down her waving arm and slowed her step at her friend's cold greeting. She could feel Ash friends looking at her and she tensed. somehow she could feel it not just because of her lateness but for other reason, one that is mostly likely link to Ash's cold greeting that they are all looking at her
" Thing just got a little less boring " Gary smirked and Dawn notice Ash squirmed in discomfort
" Wh ... what are you doing here Dawn I thought you are helping Hermione with a fashion collection coming out " Ash stammered and she didn't miss the apprehension in his tone
" Well I just thought I should be here, you won a league after all so I rush my job " she replied slowly and unsurely, getting the feeling he didn't want her here " but if you want me to leave ..."
" no-no " Ash waved his arm " I'm just surprised that all" he reasoned and look around before gesturing to a red hair girl " this is Misty, the gym leader of cerulean city " the gym leader gave her a polite wave which she returns
"This is Clement, Bonnie, and Serena " Ash continues, waving his arm toward a blond hair girl and guy and a small girl with an impressed expression " they are from Kalos, Serena a pokemon performer, Clement the luminous gym leader, and Bonnie is his younger sister ". Dawn nodded remembering that information from the limited phone call she has with ash.
Without giving her a chance to interact, Ash was already gesturing toward another group, one she was familiar with " and of cause you already know may, Gary, Brock, Iris, and Cilan " he then motion toward her to finished up the introduction " and everyone this is Dawn "He look like he was going to say something more but stopped himself.
Dawn gives a small smile " hi, nice to finally meet you all " they all seem friendly enough, giving her a welcoming smile and greeting in return though she did notice Misty and Serena smile is a little forced. " Piplup " her blue penguin chirped from her head and she rolled her eye as she introduced her proud penguin " and this is Piplup, my partner "
" I can't believe it, it really is you !" She took a few steps back as Bonnie exclaimed and was beside her in an instant, too close for her comfort " I'm a big fan, I think you are a really awesome coordinator and pokestylist !"
Taken off guard by the sudden compliment but at the same time flattered by it, her smile widens " thanks Bonnie "
" Please take care of my brother !" Bonnie suddenly gets down on one knee, startling her. She blinked, too stunned to respond. Sensing some movement, she peeked up to see Piplup trying to hold in his laughter
" He could be dense and "
A mechanical arm extends from Clement backpack and picks the young girl up and despite hearing about Bonnie habit before this scene still leave her speechless
" Bonnie " Clement exclaimed at the now pouting girl "do you have to propose to every one of Ash friends ?! Stop embarrassing me! And beside Dawn is ash girlfri "
" Dawn !" Ash shouted, drowning Clement voice and alarming the blue hair coordinator, he grabbed her small suitcase from her arm and ushered her forward " you must be tired from the trip, I will show you to your room now so you can unpack, you can meet the rest later". Not giving her a chance to reply, Ash pulled her forward, making her stumble.
" hey I want to talk to her " May protest but Ash didn't even slow down, in fact, he quickened his pace and she struggles to keep up " later, let her settle in first"
Just as they were about to disappear into Ash house Gary say loudly "oh ya Ash, the girls are already too squash in one room, maybe Dawn can stay in your room, she yours girlfriend after all "
He was so close, so so close, just a few seconds he could drag Dawn inside his house and maybe ask her to act like they were together. Ash shut his eye as he waited for Dawn's outburst he was sure will follow
" I'm sure his mom won't allow me to share a room with him yet even if we are dating you know "
Ash snapped his eye open, staring disbelievingly at Dawn's reply. The blue hair coordinator was giving him an unreadable expression and it frightens him not being able to tell what on her mind, a task he usually has no problem with
" Usually I won't allow it but there is no more space in the house " the front door suddenly swings open and Delia appears answering Dawn's statement. Ash has a suspicion that his mom has been at the door for a while now and was listening in on their conversation
He watches as His mom engulf dawn in a hug " it so nice to finally meet you, Dawn, Ash mention so much about you"
" good thing I hope " Dawn replied with a grin before returning the hug " nice to meet you too Mrs. Ketchum " and Ash could tell his mom already warming up to his blue hair friend
"All good, very good, I was disappointed that you didn't visit after Sinnoh " Delia reassure with a smile of her own " now I'm really sorry about this but the girls are already squash in a room and I have no more room available so I'm trusting you and ash to behave responsibly"
" Mum !" Ash exclaimed, horrified at Delia implication " I am responsible "
" No need to worry Mrs. Ketchum," Dawn said her catchphrase, pulling from the hug and throwing him an amused glance " and I'm sorry about not being able to visit sooner "
" That when I worry the most " Ash mumbled to himself, more of a habit than anything.
" It's ok dear, you are here now and that all that matters. Ash dear bring dawn to your room and get her to settle she must be so tired and Dawn dear I do hope you will enjoy your stay here, I look forward to knowing my son girlfriend a little more "
Ash could only groan and wonder if trying to upstage Gary was worth all of this
As soon as the door closed, Dawn turned to Ash and was about to begin questioning when Pikachu jumped from Ash's shoulder to Dawn's, greeting the coordinator with a happy " pikaka "
"Hey there Pikachu I miss you " she nuzzled the electric mouse " how have you been? "
Likewise, Piplup has jumped from dawn's head to ash's arm, chirping energetically " Piplup pi ". Ash caught the penguin and grinned " nice to see you again Piplup!"
With the greeting out of the way, Dawn turned toward Ash again and questioned: " what was all that ?! Why am I your girlfriend ?!"
Ash looked at Pikachu and mouthed " help me " the electric mouse decided it best not to get involved in this. Shrugging, he leaps from Dawn's arm to the bed. Piplup reaching the same conclusion, join his friend
" Thanks for nothing you useless mouse " Ash mentally said to his loyal pokemon before looking up to meet Dawn's furious eye
" Well," Ash gave a nervous smile, trying to ease the tension " you know you are a girl and my friend ?"
Dawn was unamused " explain Ketchum "
Piplup and Pikachu having finished their greeting was looking on with too much interest over their trainer conversation
" Well, it's like this " he began with a sigh " you know how a jerk Gary is right? I mean sure he becomes nicer after the whole silver conference but he can still be a jerk to me you know? So arrogant so ..."
" Does your story have a point " Dawn deadpanned
" I'm getting to the point so if you just listen " Ash shoots back " anyway, he was bugging me with his new girlfriend and I accidentally say that "
" you have a girlfriend and since I'm the only one not present just now you say it me " Dawn concluded
" Hey look like you know the story " Ash laughed trying to sooth Dawn. It didn't work though as she was still staring at him furiously
" Look, I'm sorry I will just go out there and tell them everything, Gary will probably laugh at me but "
"The is the most stupid thing you ever did and that saying a lot considering all the thing you have done " Dawn ranted
" Yeah " Ash agree too quickly before the full statement hit him " hey what that suppose to mean I didn't do a lot of stupid stuff "
"But this is ridiculous " Dawn continued, ignoring Ash statement
Ash huffed but could say nothing to defend himself " ya ya, I will fix these now " he head for the door when dawn's voice stopped him
" and I'm so in "
Ash turned around to see Dawn furious look dissolving into a conspiring smile " what ?"
" Well, you know the saying best friend don't let you do stupid thing alone? Since I'm your best friend I'm not about to let you do this stupid plan of your alone why do you think I didn't expose you just now ?"
Ash smiled genuinely for the first time since this mess started and raised his hand " I don't know what to say Dawn but thanks so much "
Dawn lifted her hand and hi-five ash waiting hand " always have your back ash, no matter how ridiculous it is "
