A/N's: Thank you, mari, for your short review! A slightly shorter chapter this time, but this will probably be the usual chapter length. Update rate will change will how I feel.
Linkell dreamt contently. She didn't dream of the future nor the present, but filling the shoes of a Link long faded from time. She tossed around, her ash-blond hair bundled in knots. Her arms flapped around aimlessly, as if trying to sho something away.
"Child. Stop fighting so recklessly. Swing your sword with grace."
The deep, calming voice sent chills down Linkell's spine as she scrambled to reach her sword. Her body strained as she plastered her boots to the misty floor. Facing her opponent with a furrowed brow, the lady charged headfirst, the sliver sword ready to stab it's target.
As her sword hit thin air, she hastily flicked her wrist, edging the sword clockwise. Feet twisting a 90-degree turn, Linkell gritted her teeth as she swept the blade sideways, the tip of the weapon grazing the clouds below her.
Howling in bravery, Linkell dashed forward, slashing away at the direction of the golden-clad warrior. The only result of the hurried attack was the skeleton counter-striking. His rotting sword clashed with the girl's bright silver one, ending with his blade inchs away from Linkell's sweating cheek. Forcing her entire body weight onto pushing the oncoming sword, Linkell grunted monetarily, trying to faze the warrior.
The skeleton pushed harder and harder, his face expressing no emotion. Overpowering the girl by leagues, the green-clad heroine was forced to a single knee, the beige leggings ripping as they met the floor.
"STOP!" Linkell cried, her eyes blurred and weak. She choked and sputtered in an attempt to breathe, her lungs dry and hollow. Every muscle in her body gave out, wavering herself useless to stop the advancing attack. Linkell's blood-filled mouth snapped shut, feeling death upon her hair.
Instead of a cold blade touching her back, it was replaced with a cold, metal hand. Her arms dropped to her sides, as the rusted sword rested next to the golden skeleton. He buried his head in the injured girl's shoulder, breathing steadily as his sockets split out watery tears.
"Time to wake up, my daughter. I believe in you, so, very much."
"Get up, Hylian! You don't need no beauty sleep, you hear?"
"What the-? Hey, give me a break, I just had the strangest dream."
"I don't care, girl! You have a whole Kingdom to save, and you're not gonna do that by sitting around doing nothing!"
"Excuse me?!" Linkell's eyes shot open in surprise, only to be met with yet another surprise. Hovering above was a blinding, green-ish orb, with glistening silver wings that fluttered about. After processing the situation, Linkell soon recognized the flying ball of light as a fairy, a native species to the Faron region, which lied far east to Castle Town.
"Stop asking questions, stupid! Shouldn't be prepared for this kind of day? This shouldn't be a shock to you!" The creature bellowed, turning a shade of red.
"I think got the wrong Rinku. My brother's the one whose suppose to..." Linkell trailed off, assuming herself crazy. Maybe, that odd dream was some kind of sign?
"No, not whatsoever! Ghirahim specifically said you were to be the one!" It chirped eagerly, bouncing around in the air.
"Ugh, I'll get up, I'll get up!" Ghirahim...Now where have I heard that name before? Linkell groaned, pondering weakly as she lifted her head up from a filthy-looking bed.
