Zach Porsin used to be a regular guy. He got up each morning, sipped his coffee, and drove to work. He loved his job as a school librarian at the local Catholic school in the little town of Billings, Montana. The kids loved him and he loved them. He had good hearing, almost too good, and used to joke with the students that he had superpowers.

When the little school ran out of money, they began to lay off workers one by one. As an unessential employee, Zach was one of the first. He fell into a depression of sorts and stayed in his apartment for days on end. He lost money week by week and almost had to be evicted. That was, until he ate the fish oil.

Zach had had a bottle of fish oil pills for over three years now and had never taken one. He finally decided to take one and the next thing he knew, he could shoot water from his hands.

Zach took this opportunity as a gift and began searching for ways to get money. His anger ultimately began his mugging habits.

Zach was minding his own business as he walked to the drug store, and got angry when an older, wealthy man in an expensive coat bumped into him on the street.

Being a small town, this wealthy man knew Zach and knew he had been laid off. "Get a life," he told the former school librarian.

"Excuse me?!" Zach snapped. He eyed the fat wallet in the man's pocket.

"Whatever," the man scoffed as he turned around to keep walking.

Zach's anger got the best of him and he found himself shoving the rich man into an alley.

"Hey!" he hissed.

Zach aimed his hand at the man. "Give me your wallet."

"What? No!"

"I said give it to me," Zach demanded through clenched teeth. He shot the water from his hand and knocked the man out. "That'll teach him," he mumbled to himself. He crouched down and took the big wallet out of the man's pocket. He grinned when he found over $1,000 in cash.

The muggings continued for weeks and the town began to get suspicious. A neighbor of Zach's saw him one night and reported him to SHIELD. That's how they found his location.

Ever since he'd been at SHIELD, Zach realized he could do legal things with his powers, too, good things. He realized he could be a good guy and still get paid. So that's why he wanted to help.

When they asked him to go on the mission, Zach was excited, but he was immediately suspicious. He overheard May and Daisy's conversation in the quinjet and got somewhat angry with them. They told him to stay in the jet, but he knew he shouldn't make it that easy for them to trust him just yet. He left the jet once they were out of sight and surveyed the area around him. Once they got back, he was hidden from their sight.

After knocking May and Daisy out, Zach pulled them out of the quinjet and hopped inside the cockpit himself. He'd driven his grandfather's plane before, so he somewhat knew how to control this jet. He knew exactly where to go, and he was going to make his previous employer pay for his actions. He'd deal with the SHIELD implications later.

"What the..." May mumbled, rubbing her sore head. She opened her eyes to find herself on the helipad with no quinjet. She looked over at Daisy, who was still unconscious. "Hey, Daisy, wake up," she said.

Daisy's eyes fluttered open and her hand immediately grabbed her sore head. "What happened?" She scowled when she felt blood under her hair. She patted her pockets and heaved a sigh of relief when she felt the terrigen crystal still intact.

"Zach," May hissed. "He knocked us out and took the quinjet."

Daisy gaped, unsure of what to say. She sat up. "I shouldn't have trusted him."

"I hate to say I told you so."

Daisy narrowed her eyes. "No, you love saying that."

May brushed herself off and stood up, then held out her hand to help Daisy up. "Anyway, we need to find him," she told Daisy.

"How are we going to get out of here?" Daisy wanted to know.

"Oh, crap," Zach said to himself. The quinjet was running out of fuel; he had gotten lost. The jet began to propel itself towards the wheat field. Zach screamed as he fell.

When Zach woke up, he was alright. He was relatively uninjured because, last minute, he had been ejected from his seat. Now he had to do the hard part; contact SHIELD for help even after he betrayed them and destroyed their jet. But his comms were fried.

Daisy tapped her earpiece. "Lighthouse, do you copy?"

Daisy shook her head at May, as if to tell her no one was responding.

May sighed. "Let's go inside and see if we can find a phone or something."

Daisy raised her eyebrows. "How can we know if these people are friendlies? They're probably already mad that we landed a quinjet on their roof, plus I'm not exactly dressed like a civilian." She motioned to her quake suit.

"Well, first of all, the jet was cloaked, and second, this in an office building, so I don't doubt that everyone is a friendly. How about you just wait up here? I'm dressed like a civilian, so I can talk to someone for help."

May went to the lobby receptionist at the floor level.

"Hello," May said to the receptionist.

The receptionist smiled. "Can I help you?"

"Yes, actually. I lost track of my cell phone and was wondering if you had anything I could use to contact someone."

"Of course." She handed May a landline.

"Who is this?" came the voice of Mack from the other end once May dialed his number.

"It's May. Civilians are listening and this not an encrypted line."

"Copy that. How did it go?"

"Not as well as I'd hoped. Zach, well, he left and stole the...the item."

"The unknown object?" Mack asked, not wanting to say '0-8-4' on this unencrypted line.

"No, that is safe. He took our transportation."

Mack sighed. "Do you need..." He stopped himself before saying 'extraction team'. "...Do you need someone to come get you?"

"Yes. Thank you."

"What happened to you?!" asked the man who stopped his truck. Zach had been waving vehicles over, attempting to hitch a ride.

"I got lost," Zach replied, and he wasn't lying.

The man eyed Zach's bloodied face and spy-garb. Luckily, the wheat covered the quinjet's remains, so no one could see it. "Where do you need to go?" he asked.

Zach hopped into the passenger seat. "Billings, Montana."

The man furrowed his brow. "Excuse me? Dude, we're in Illinois."

"I made it that far in just half an hour?" Zach asked himself.

"Umm, yeah. Look, I don't have the gas nor the time to bring you all the way out there. I can let you call somebody, but..."

"Fine..." Zach scoffed. Abort the darn mission, he told himself. Contact SHIELD and forget about your stupid revenge plot.

The man handed Zach his smartphone. Zach reached into the pocket of his pants and found what he was looking for; an emergency 'business card' that Mack gave him as he left for the mission.

"Hello? Mack?" Zach said into the phone.

"Zach? Is that you?"

"Yes, sir."

"I just got a call from May. Why did you steal the jet?"

"I had to...I..."

"Explain it to me later. Where are you?"

Zach eyed the man, and he mouthed 'Springfield, Illinois, exit 47'.

"Springfield, Illinois, near exit 47," Zach told Mack.

"What? You went all the way to Illinois and abandoned my agents?"

"I'm sorry..."

Mack scoffed. "Transportation is on the way." With that, he hung up.

"They're on their way," May told Daisy when she got back on the roof.

"Good," Daisy replied. She was sitting on a block on concrete; she looked tired.

"You okay?" May asked her former student.

Daisy nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Other than being knocked out by a jet stream of water and being betrayed by a guy you put trust in."

May pressed her lips together. "You didn't deserve that. But people can be awful sometimes."

Daisy scoffed and ran her fingers through her hair. "Trust me, I know."

A little while later, a secondary cloaked quinjet landed on the helipad. Yo-Yo and two other agents were inside.

"He stole the quinjet?" Yo-Yo asked her friends as they took off.

"Yes," Daisy replied angrily. "I put trust in him, and he sabotaged us."

"You're bleeding," Yo-Yo observed with a concerned look.

Daisy touched her head again. "It's fine. Just a little bruised, that's all. Worry about May if you have to worry about someone."

May scoffed. "Don't look at me."

"Well, good news," Yo-Yo said, leaning back in her seat. "Mack just got a call from Zach. They're going to pick him up. He crashed somewhere in Illinois."

"So he turned himself in," Daisy said, a little hope re-entering her system.

Yo-Yo nodded. "Yep. I suppose so."

"What the hell were you thinking?!" Daisy demanded from Zach. He had been tossed into a cell and she was standing right outside.

"I'm sorry, I...I just wanted to get revenge."

"On who? Us?"

He shook his finger. "No, no, I never meant to hurt you and Agent May. I just needed the quinjet to go find my old boss and make him pay."

Daisy's nostrils flared. "Are you kidding me?! You were going to hurt someone just for laying you off?"

"Let me explain-"

Daisy raised a hand to tell him to stop. "No, Zach, you've gone too far. We know we can't trust you."

"Daisy, I'm sorry-"

But she had walked away already.
