Guest: Well, there actually is an answer to that. It'll be revealed later.
hakimsohit51: My inability to make up my mind when writing. Sorry.
Ameno and Itami stood in front of Major Hisaki. "I hereby appoint Kurokawa Mari and Atou Ringo into 2nd Recon. Sergeant Kurokawa will be put under Lieutenant Itami squad. And Private Atou into Ameno's." he declared. "Is she a medic?" Itami asked. "Yes, a third one. I figured that you might need an extra considering the possibility of injured civilians." Kurokawa smiled, to which Ameno awkwardly smiled back. "Oh, and your first mission is to find out the whereabouts of Saderan military bases. So go look around in cities to get information."
Flashback end
"And that's how I came back with a new member and a mission." Itami ended his story of what happened a hour ago. "But wouldn't it be suspicious to ask around Saderans where military bases are in strange uniforms that they've never seen before?" Ameno questioned the dangers of this mission. "I agree." Ito added.
"Can't we disguise? Like in action movies." Atou asked. She has a blue eyes with long red hair that reaches her waist. "Where can we get those clothes huh? We're not gonna just steal them from a civilian." Ameno opens the map of the empire, which they captured from the enemy and has been mass printed. "We are near this city called Bellnahgo. Apparently it's a city dedicated to the god of the underworld according to this map. It's a fairly large city. We should be able to get some information." he muttered these words as the 2nd Recon drove towards Bellnahgo.
When they arrived at the gates of the city, there was guards pointing spears towards them. It seemed like they are suspicious. "Well who would have thought." Ameno mumbled.
"Quis es?! et unde venis et quo vadis?!" the guards yelled. "What are they saying? Ito asked. "Give me the notebook." Ameno grabbed the Latin language notebook and exit the vehicle. Ameno cleared his throat. "Nos viatores." he read these words off his notebook. The guards looked at each other, muttering something.
"An ex Vincon?" they asked. What? Ameno failed to catch what they said. But they for some reason opened the gate. "Nos paenitet, quod est prope ad deversorium, ego suadeo is." the vehicles entered the city. "Tibi gratias ago?" Ameno said unsure, entering the car as they left.
"What did they say?" everyone in car looked at Ameno in curiosity. "I don't know, they just let us in for some reason." currently, all the vehicles except the helicopter was present, so everybody looked at them in mystery. "Ah crap.. I knew this would happen. Perhaps we should have entered on foot." Itami said. "Yeah.. we should find somewhere to park this." Ameno opened the window to find somewhere to hide the vehicles. "There's an open field right there." Kurata pointed. "Well, we need some people to guard this. Itami, we each leave 5 men from our squad to guard this. The rest will look for information." Itami nodded, as they parked the cars and tank.
"Alright, you, you, you, you, and you. Stay behind and look after this." Ameno ordered five random men as Itami did the same. "Let's head out."
Unknown, somewhere in South-Western Falmart
President Lincoln headed out of the meeting room, being swarmed by army of media. The guards struggled to stop them.
"Mr President, what are they like? Any footage or image of them?"
"What are their goals Mr President?"
"Is our military going to act about this?"
Lincoln entered the vehicle waiting for him, squeezing through the news reporters. "Those goddamn mass media." he mumbled. "Well, its our first time meeting a fellow post-industrial-revolution nation in 200 years ever since we were transferred to this world. Of course everyone is surprised." the driver said. "We did have a footage of their troops, tanks, and aircrafts right?" Lincoln asked, to which the driver nodded. "I was shocked, it looked far more advanced than ours."
"Because they are. Experts estimate about 90-100 years. I only hope they came in peace and not try to conquer this world or some sort." Lincoln reached for his cigarette. "Some who enjoy Vincon having the dominant spot in Falmart wants to have them kicked out." Lincoln said. He grabbed a picture of their military base in Alnus. A flag with a red sun rising. "It reminds me of Hikoku." he mumbled. "Hikoku?" the driver asked. "Oh, it's an empire from our past world. And our close ally. I suppose those who are not close to the History Department don't know that."
"Would you mind telling me more about it?" the driver asked. "Like us, they were inside an island. 5 islands. One big island in the center and the rest surrounding it. It was located just in the position to block the East Sea. Apparently we fought over many times, but united against a stronger enemy. But that enemy is surrounded in mystery." Lincoln lit out the cigarette, as the car arrived at the destination: The Ministry of Defense.
"Eiken and Badrick, follow me." Lincoln ordered his bodyguards. "In order to not get suspicion from the Unidentified Advanced Civilization, we will need to clear out some rats hiding within Sadera." the door to the ministry opened, as they headed towards the meeting room in midst of never ending camera flashes from the media. In the current crisis, Lincoln is going to a meeting to another. And the media will always be there.
Lincoln entered the meeting room (In our world the room is recognizable to the UN meeting room). Greeted by commanders of all post in mainland Falmart.
"We will now begin the meeting. The subject is Unidentified Advanced Civilization (UAC). Experts have said that they are about a century ahead of us in terms of technology. So we need to pursue with caution." before continuing, he made the room is shut close. "Currently, there are large gangs of Vincians inside mainland Falmart practicing slavery. Mainly for sexual uses. And our spies sent there confirmed East Asian humans that speaks an unidentified language. It is highly likely that they are citizens of the UAC. If they were to be caught by them, it is a matter of time before we will be as well. So, in order to ensure future peace between us and the UAC, I suggest an all out hunt for these gangs hiding like Rats inside Sadera through military usage."
"The main target is these three: Al Cinde, Lice, and Incend. These three have the largest amount of captured citizens from the UAC. The rest we can just say that they were no longer under our supervision and that they had nothing to do with us. As you can see in the papers below, the plan is to launch an surprise attack against all of them in one. They do not possess firearms, so in case of resistance, it will be put down easily. This must be done swiftly and undercover. We cannot give hints of our presence to Sadera or the UAC."
"But wouldn't we cause damage?" a general pointed out. "I authorized the use of magic, if we make sure no magicians sees the scars for an hour, there will be nothing that gives away our position." Lincoln shut down the doubt. "How can we know that they haven't escaped from their base?"
"General Feathers, you are in charge of the area where Al Cinde resides. You can send your scouts to spy on them. General Chamberlain, you make sure Incend don't run away and General Hanks, watch over Lice, those fuckers will run according to records." Lincoln's plan is to shut down any opposition from these lazy ass generals.
"Any questions?" he asked. "But what if they have magicians?"
Goddamn it these sons of bitches.
Bellnahgo
Ameno, Ito, and a radioman named Iura. Looking around the city for something valuable. Or somewhere that is filled with information.
"Uh, Team B, did you find anything? Over."
"Nothing sir, but I found a map of this world."
"Well, that can be useful since we only have the map of the empire, but that's for later."
"We found a catgirl."
"WHAT?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" the sound of Kurata yelling made everyone jump, or specifically, people around them. "Kurata, shut up." Ameno said.
"Oh, we're inside a library." Itami announced.
"Where are you right now?" Ameno asked. "Where the lake is."
"Alright We'll be heading over there in one minute..."
15 minutes later
Ameno opened a book named, 'Unitarum de Saderan Military' or 'Organization of Saderan Military.' Although it may not tell where the Saderna military bases are, he can at least learn how they are organized. It told the very basic of the enemy organization and battle tactics. 5000 legionaries would form a legion. Then they would split into centuries, which is 80 men lead by a Centurion. The centuries would then be divided into smaller groups with different jobs to perform.
"Commander, I found this. What does this say?" Ito came up show casing a book named, 'Historia et elit ad current Saderan militum.' Ameno reached for his notebook, translating the book's title. "History and Current Environment of the Saderan Military." he mumbled. "Well, you just found the book we were looking for. I'll treat you a beer or something once we get back to Alnus." He checked the time, 18:63. "Well, about time we head back. Oh, and lets just grab this book." Ameno said, taking a book named 'Bellnahgo' with him. "Are we going to steal these?" Ito asked. "What other choice do we have? It's not like we have their money."
"But can't we trade it for something else? Like your neck necklace." Ito pointed to the cross necklace Ameno was wearing. "You were wearing that since middle school, is it important to you?" Ito asked. "...not this." Ameno muttered. "Here, sell this." Ameno tossed a green pen towards Ito. "Would this be enough?" Ito asked. "To us, no. To them, this is a very useful tool since they don't even have pencils yet. So explain what this is to the owner." Ameno ordered.
"Um, excuse me." Ito said to the old librarian lady. "Can I buy these books in exchange for this?" Ito said showing the pen.
"What is that?" the librarian asked. "It's a pen. Here, you can write things with it." she scribbled the pen onto her notebook, drawing a cat. She looked in amazement. "Woah... I've never seen such things. Sure, you can take the books." she said. Ito smiled as she turned back towards Ameno with a thumbs up. Ameno returned the gesture.
All the members has returned to their vehicle, as Kurata started the vehicle. "Kurata, how long does it take until we're back in Alnus again?" Itami asked. "About 3-4 hours sir." Itami groaned. "I wanna lie on my bed, I walked all day." Itami said exhausted. "Well, just take nap or something." Akasaka suggested. "It seems like Atou san is already doing that." Kurokawa commented looking at Atou Ringo lying on Ito's shoulder. Ito chuckled. "Well, let's just take a rest."
Atlantis, Atlantic Tower: 20:30
In this building, dinner is always at the same time everyday. George Bellshaw arrived at the cafeteria as many others entered it as well. They all stood in front of their assigned table looking towards the flag of Atlantis.. Bellshaw's table is also used by General Secretary Mike Stewart, Eric Badger, and Daniel Froster.
"Hail Atlantis." they all said in union before taking a seat down.
"I've taken a look at the rebel leader. An Englishman huh?" Stewart said. "Yes Mr Secretary, we already have an elite squad from the Internal Intelligence Agency (IIA) chasing him down. It'll be a matter of time before he is caught." Bellshaw responded. "Well, enough about the rebel. Let's talk about the gate. I want that thing under our control." Stewart declared. "We need to make Japan give up their possession of the gate." he added.
"Should we pressure them?" Badger, being the leader of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, asked. "Sure, it's not like they can do anything about it anyways." Stewart the gave the go ahead. "What are your intentions Mr Secretary? Do you need the military?" Froster, the leader of the Ministry of Defense, asked. "We will divide the empire into 5. All of them as puppets of course. Then we will gather resources and magics from there. In short: A colony."
"What if Japan refuses?" Bellshaw asks. "A homeland invasion of the islands will scare them off. We can use the navy base in Pearl Harbor." Stewart's fearless words scared Bellshaw. "Might as well get rid them pests." Badger laughed. "What about the people? If we remove the emperor they'll start revolting. Even the uneducated rats have their undying loyalty to the so-called god."
"We'll just put them down. We can gather men like crops." Bellshaw said. "Perhaps the emperor will suck dicks to keep his position. Like Hirohito." Froster joked. "Why are we suddenly homoerotic?"
Russia, somewhere near Moscow
"ONTO MOSCOW!" Arstotzkan men jumped out of their trenches, charging towards Russian defenses above the hill filled with snow. Heavy Russian fire mowed down the Arstotzkans. Arstotzkan's thick black fur winter uniform stood out in the snow.
"Sir! We're running out ammunition!" General Surikov Victorovich's room's door was slammed open by a soldier. "Take them from the dead then." Surikov said annoyed. "We already did sir! And the Arstotzkan are charging towards our trench! We can't hold them!" the soldier said in hurry. "They've already passed the first and the second trench! It won't take long before they arrive in this third trench!" Surikov paused. "Gather all available men. Leave the unavailable as the reserve." Surikov ordered, heading out.
He met all the available men standing in line outside in midst of the freezing temperature. "My men! The enemy has breached our defenses, if we stay here we die, so let's bring it to them! Fix bayonets!" mounting bayonets, the men stood up from their trench. "Musicians! Get up!" Sorikov yelled as the remaining band ran up the trench.
"Into fire!" Surikov yelled as the army marched forward towards the Arstotzkans and the band playing Farewell of Slavianka. "Close formation!" under small enemy fire, the Russians advanced until they could see the Arstotzkans' faces. Surikov waved around his saber, pointing towards the Arstotzkans. "Not a step back men!" he yelled. "Charge!" the Russians began running as the Arstotzkans followed, soon crashing into each other in a fierce close hand combat.
Surikov stabbed a soldier on the ground, fending off a bayonet. "Push them back!"
Arstotzka, Paradizna
Lindon Cavage had just received words that the defenses in Moscow has been breached.
"They are now engaged in a hand-to-hand combat sir. " the reporter concluded. "Than send them everything!" Cavage yelled, as the reporter rushed back to the communication room. "We've been at war with those Russian bastards for 9 fucking years and millions died. They better not fail this." Cavage grunted.
"Sir, capture of Moscow will not make them capitulate." Bob the bodyguard reminded. "I know! But it'll devastate the enemy!"
"Deep breaths Mr. President." Cavage fidgeted restlessly. Waiting for some response. Finally, the radio cracked into life.
"Sir! The air support is making the Russians flee!"
"YES!" Cavage slammed the table in excitement. "Reporting... Russian politicians fleeing Moscow spotted!" everyone in the room smiled in excitement.
Alnus Hill: 13:50 - Lunch
"The Fall of Moscow." Ameno read out loud from his phone. Making everyone pause. "The fall of what? I think I misheard something?" Akasaka asked. "Moscow. The Russian capital. The Arstotzkan captured it." Itami sighed. "One of my waifu is Russian."
"Shut up weeb." Ito attacked. "When did they captured it?" she asked. "About 6 hours ago. It was midnight in Arstotzka." Ameno scrolled through the article, showing Arstotzkan citizens celebrating in the streets. "Where is the new capital? Surely the Russians won't surrender just because Moscow fell." Kurokawa asked. "Saint Petersburg."
"They requested a share of resources in the Special Region but I guess they don't need it after all." Ringo mumbled. "I mean, Arstotzka is our closest ally next to Paxburg, so I'm sure the Parliament will help one way or another." Ameno opened another tab named, "Massive triumph in Durban, South Africa after an Atlantian offensive." he read that out loud. Everyone had a face of pride in their face, whilst Ameno was in confusion. Didn't the government and the media admit that they are going to lose if they are attacked in Durban? And I heard General Hazama say to Yanagida that Durban just fell yesterday.
"Didn't the government and the media openly admit that there are no way they can hold the city if attacked?" Ameno asked. To which everybody looked confused for. "What are you talking about? They warned the Atlantians that an attack on Durban will be catastrophic." Itami said. "No way." Ameno searches up, 'Fall of Durban' on Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (JBC). He found the article he saw the information at.
How Japan will triumph in Durban.
Ameno dropped his phone in surprise. "What's wrong?" Itami asked. "Nothing." Ameno firmly replied. That's impossible, I could've sworn to god that that wasn't what it said. "But didn't you guys panicking over Durban?" Ameno still refuse to believe the situation is front of him. "What are you talking about?" Ito with a worried face asked. "I- nevermind." Ameno shut himself down before causing further suspicion. Just what is going on?
General Hazama's room
"We are going to capture Bellnahgo." he declared waving the book 'Bellnahgo' in his hands.
"Why?" Major Hisaki asked.
"I too question the motives." Yanagida agreed. "I already got the permission from Parliament. According to captured generals, there are 23 captured Japanese civilians in that city. And it is a vital enemy strongpoint." Hazama explained. "There will be 3 Battalions in this operation. The plan is to bombard the enemy in surprise, and before the enemy organize themselves and attack, we organize our troops behind the bushes so when they do attack, we can cut them down. Once the main army is obliterated, we enter the city and quell any further resistance." Hazama hand out the plan on sheet. "It turned out 15,000 troops are present in Bellnahgo. Capturing such a major city would prove to the people that the empire is fighting a hopeless cause." Hazama said. "15,000? Are sure 600 troops is enough to deal with such numbers?" Yanagida questioned. "The bombardment will deal with them."
"What about the civilians?" Hisaki asked. "We will tell them about it prior, but also warn them that if the military starts acting after we told them, we will start bombarding immediately." Yanagida sighed. "I understand."
Bellnahgo
"Please get on the carriage." the civilians hurried onto carriages on the back side of the city. As the Japanese shot any soldiers who noticed. "There are still many that refuse to move sir." Lieutenant Ichiya reported. "It's their decision. They've made up their minds." Colonel Miyamori, commander of this mission declared. "Start bombardment!"
"Start bombardment!" soldiers rushed to their combat positions as artillery exploded into life. Screams could be heard beyond the walls that hides the city.
"Reload!"
"Reloading!" remnants of buildings exploded so high into the sky, everyone on the ground could see them. Modern (by that technology of 2077) artillery was so powerful that it can blow away tanks and turn humans into unrecognizable red meat. They could see broken spears flying in the sky.
"Desine cedimus!" a voice cried out, as the smokes cleared from the bombardment, soldiers with shields above their heads walked out of the gate. "What did they say?" Colonel Miyamori asked. "'Stop we surrender.'" Miyamori sighed in relief. The police moved forward, handcuffing those who surrendered. Soon, a white flag rose in the castle.
"All forces, enter the city, search for any possible further resistance." Miyamori said through the radio. Ichiya entered the city, looking at the city that is in ruin. He noticed a giant statue beheaded because of the bombardment. Is that some sort of god? He thought to himself.
"Nam Caesar Molt!" a voice cried out, he quickly turned around, stabbing the Saderan soldier in the eyes with the bayonet. He started to hear gunshots from other parts of the city.
"Nam CaesarTu ignavus barbara!-" a Saderan soldier got killed at the end of the street. "Nos deditionem!" soon, any remaining resistance surrendered or were shot.
Alnus Hill
"Capture of Bellnahgo has succeeded." Hazama put down his phone. "The combined force of police and our men are occupying the city, correct?" Yanagida asked. "You'll be right. I hope the word of the easy capture spread around quickly. Especially to the enemy senate." Hazama mumbled. "The enemy senate is filled with fools that don't accept reality sir. I doubt that they'll give up after this." Yanagida disagreed. "I know, the target is the oppressed minorities. Such as enslaved demi-humans. Learning that the enemy is this weak, they might revolt. They can get their freedom and the enemy gets weaker for us. It's a win-win deal."
"Not for the enemy though." Yanagida laughed. "Yeah, I'll be looking forward to the face of despair on the senators' faces." Hisaki chuckled.
Italica
"Pour acid!" Pina co Lada ordered. Men poured buckets filled with acid down the defensive wall, falling it upon the bandits sieging the city. "Fire arrows!" An attempt to caught the bandits off guard when they are retreating from the acid failed as the bandits blocked the arrows with their shields. Pina clicked her tongue, "Dammit." she mumbled.
As expected of former soldiers. She thought. The bandits attacking Italica was a combined forces of survivors of Alnus. So they were highly organized and battle-hardened.
"Take cover!" a voice yelled, followed by hundreds of arrow fire. Pina quickly ducked down, she looked up to see Grey covering her with his shield. "Ma'am we don't have much men left." a captain came by. "Ma'am, we're running out of weapons." another joined. "Ma'am what do we do for our arrows?"
Pina took a deep breath. "There is no solution! Just use your swords and spears!" Pina yelled, as the frightened commanders backed off.
"Stressed princess?" Grey asked. "How can I not be? One of the empire's most important city is an inch away from falling not to the enemy but to bandits." Grey quickly covered Pina as another volley of arrow fire pursued. "We just gotta hold it for three more days until your Roses Knights arrive."
"I really do hope we can last for three more days with this condition." she looked at troops trembling behind the walls and soldiers getting shot by arrows. "I sure do hope so as well.." Grey sighed.
Alnus
"We've received words of bandit siege in Italica. We've also received words that the bandits sieging the city is veterans of Battle of Alnus. So your mission is to observe the bandits to come up with some sort of effective ways to combat them in case of close-hand-combat." Major Hisaki declared. "Italica? That trading city?" Ameno asked. "Yes, that trading city that also turned out to be another one of empire's strongpoint. Now if you don't have any more questions get your ass out of here." Ameno and Itami complied, walking out of his office.
"How's Ameno." came from the radio. "I don't know, we still need to keep an eye on him in case of further internal crimes." Hisaki picked up the radio. "Alright." the call ended. Hisaki sighed.
"Well do your best Ameno."
