Elena pov

"Caroline, whoa slow down, what?" I was beyond confused by Caroline's rambling.

"Okay so Tyler stole Klaus's sword and since Shane is dead we thought there was no other way to find the cure, but turns out Bonnie found a loophole." Wow when did this become my life .

"Okay... so we can still find the cure?" I ask unsure if I got that correctly. "Yeah so Bonnie says it could take anywhere from a few hours to a few days till she finds one of Silas's relatives. And then a few more to actually find him and get the cure."

"Wow so this is actually happening". I say still unsure.

" Right well I got to go help Bonnie get some things for the spell, so can you tell Damon, thanks bye" she says in a hurry.

"Okay bye Care." I hang up as I pull into the driveway of the Salvatore Boarding house.

I look around awhile before finally heading towards his room. I don't bother knocking before entering his room, which I immediately regret because I hear the shower running. My eyes widen becoming aware that there is a very naked Damon a few yards away in the shower.

As I turn towards the door I realize the shower turned off and practically jump out of my skin when I hear him whisper in my ear" I've heard of a peeping Tom, but a peeping Elena is so much better in my opinion." I whip around to confront him, or maybe just set him straight and he's naked.Of course. He is Damon after all. I immediately slap my hand to my face to cover my eyes and I heard him laughing.

"This reminds me of an all too similar situation last summer..." he puts on his classic sarcastic Damon voice and says"... we have got to stop meeting like this Elena, I wonder what Stefan would say" I can even hear the smile in his voice.

"Damon just put some pants on". I say trying to hide my blush. When I hear the zipper on his pants I flick open my eyes.

To clear the air, I get right to the point " Tyler stole the sword-" "What?" he interrupts. I put a hand over his mouth so I can finish."But Bonnie thinks she can find one of Silas's relatives and doing a locator spell."

"Can I speak now?" Damon says from under my hand and I nod while removing my hand.

"Two things ,first of all are we even sure Bon Bon can do the spell?" I think about it for a second before answering" She thinks she can and I believe her." I pause again "What's the second thing?"

"What if she can't, what if she can't handle it?"

"Then we let it go. I'm not losing anyone else". I say with certainty. I would never risk the life of my best friend just so I could have a chance at being human again.

Jenna pov

I feel so normal again after everything, being curled up on the couch with my boyfriend on a lazy afternoon.After I learned about vampires and werewolves I never thought it would be normal again, but here I am. I hear Elena's car pull up in the driveway, then lock her car and open the front door.

"Hey Jenna, Ric" she says as she sets her keys down. "Hey 'Lena" we both say.

By the look on her face and the way she carries herself, she probably had a tiring day."Elena you okay?" I ask confirming my suspicions when she answers

"No, actually all this cure drama is really stressing me out, and I could use some family time if you two don't mind." she says quietly

Ever since I had come to take care of Jeremy and Elena after their parents died, Elena has started to feel like my little sister. Part of it is because we are so close in age and also because she is always there when I need to decompress.

"Yeah of course what do you want to do?"I say as I pause the movie and Ric gives me a understanding look. God I am so lucky to have an understanding, loving guy like him.

"Well I could use something fun, but I don't know what to do"

"We could play charades!" I announced excitedly. we haven't had a family night since their parents went off wickery bridge. This is exactly what we needed especially in the middle of all this Silas drama.

Ric gives me a goofy smile and a nod "I'll go get Jeremy" he says.

Me and Elena go gather the bucket of charades we keep in the game closet just as Jeremy and Ric are heading down the stairs."So I hear we're having family night again." he says with a corner smile.

"Yup" I say with a little strain as I lift boxes off of the bucket while Ric rushes to help me. "Here I got that" he says and I thank him.

"It's about time, I was starting to think there was never going to be another one". he says in a slightly sad voice.

I nod once again remembering the last family night. I'm pulled from my thoughts when Elena says " Boys versus girls?" in a cheery voice.

"Game on". says Jeremy

later that night...

Ric is teetering on on leg while holding both hands in front of him and I can't help but burst out laughing. He gives me a playful look and says " Keep laughing Jenna" with a smirk. All the while Jeremy is guessing every word in the dictionary.

"ice skating!"

"airplane!"

"flying!"

"Bird!"

"Roller skating?!"

And then the timer dings signifiying the end of the round. "Yes!" we one by 3 points. Me and Elena high five and do a little gloating. After cleaning up and telling Jeremy and Elena to go to bed,(It had been 3 in the morning by then)me and Ric finished our movie.

Before I knew it I was getting lost in the world of chunky monkey and being carried up the stairs, without breaking our kiss.Getting lost in the moment, we bumped into Elena on our way to my bed.

"Ahh Elena I am so sorry!!"I tell her as Ric sets me down silently apologizing as well.

"It's okay, really Jenna, it's your house too, I don't mind" she says blushing a little and clearly just tired so I decide to let it go for now.

"Okay well goodnight 'Lena." she starts walking back to her room and holds up a hand saying goodnight as well.

I turn back to Ric and we both silently agree that the mood is killed and head to my room, where we fall asleep in each other's embrace.
