So I had Sora label his depression a 'demon' only cause I figured he would see it as that. The voice in his head, the doubts he has after coming back to this new place would be so strong and being alone all those years would result in that. But tell me what you think he would call it outside that.

Sora slowly opens his eyes and sees he isn't outside but instead in a bed. Sitting up quick, he sees a window looking out towards the city. It is morning and the city is slowly coming to life. The brunet looks from the window and sees he is in a room. A simple bed, dresser and nightstand with a lamp. His backpack is on a chair with his phone and an ID application. It was almost filled out except for a few details. Next to that is a letter. The brunet picks it up and opens the paper. It was from Robert. Telling him that he found Sora and felt bad for forgetting about the ID situation. Thanks to him though, he got the brunet a one bedroom apartment under the condition he would have an ID to show the owner by tonight. This morning at 9am, he would come by to pick Sora up for handling that and getting essential items to live.

Listening to the Voice in My Head

Chapter 2

He would have to tell Robert that munny wasn't really an issue for him. If anything, he would be okay getting his own things. Sora checks the time and sees he wouldn't have time for any shower. It was a minute to 9 and once it changed, he heard a knock. In a panic, Sora grabs the key he just noticed as well as his backpack. It had everything that was himself. Shoving the key, his cell and application into the bag. The brunet is at the door and has it opened, out of breath. Robert is laughing lightly at his panic. Telling him that they had all morning to shop since they opened at 3pm. Even enough time to buy him a uniform. Locking the apartment, Sora follows his boss down the stairs and out the complex.

"So, is there a map of the city?" The brunet asks.

"Yeah about that. No one has a map of the city made. All anyone knows is that long ago, our worlds were separate and now they are one big massive world. There isn't even a map for this planet. So..we just wing it." Robert shrugs, not caring that there is no world map or town map. "Besides, no one even wants that task. It's this way."

They turn right and cross onto the next block. Crossing some tram tracks and just in time for the tram to speed on by. The brunet taking in the sights of Twilight Town and Destiny being merged into one city. It didn't really seem to be an issue. The two small cities meshed really well. Adding more people to the small island population and possibly adding to the school system. Sora keeps looking around while thinking about what he could do after they finished all the errands. Probably couldn't play Breath of the Wild though unless he took it to work but that wouldn't sit well for any workplace. The brunet would have to wait for tomorrow morning. After going another few blocks and Sora losing track of how many turns it took; he sees Town Hall. The two enter the building and see a small line already formed. The pair join and he has Sora fill out the papers as they slowly move up. Putting in the missing information and completing the application. Then telling him that here, they asked that they ask everyone to keep a simple expression to help identify each person.

With a nod, they get called up and the application is accepted. In Shibuya, Sora got a permit for driving and was gonna take a test for his license. Here, he didn't see any road for cars so no need to try for that. Even though he didn't have his permit on him at all. The brunet mentally grumbled at how cruel this world had been. It left his college uniform, permit and other books in Shibuya and only brought what it deemed necessary. If it were up to him, he would have liked to have some ID like his permit!

"Sora, please take a seat." He hears first and then sees an arm gesture to a chair in front of a camera. "Please give no smiles, just a plain face. Yes, just like that." They took a quick picture. "Now please return to the counter."

The brunet heads back and sees Robert waiting patiently. Being told that after this, they would be heading to a strip mall. There they could get furniture and after that head to a clothing store next door to that. The question Sora brought up about bringing all that to his place got met with a laugh. The furniture store would bring it to him and the clothes could be taken back by them. Sora made it a point to find a better means of transportation. It then had him bring to the forefront what being back here meant. Magic, magic existed here and if he was right then maybe, just maybe. The brunet shoots a glance at his hand. Did this mean he had magic? Taking the moment, he imagined ice in his hand. It worked and his hand formed ice.

"Alright Mr. Sora…" A voice has him make it fade quickly. "Here is your ID. Welcome to Twilight Island Port City."

He takes the paper ID.

"We will send a proper ID to your place in 3 to 4 business days. Next." The woman says, ushering them to the side.

Robert takes him by the arm and pulls him towards the door. The grip wasn't hard but it surprised him for sure. He let his boss take him outside and down the street once again. Seeing as he was unsure of where to go, it just made sense to be led through the winding city. Sora did try to use some landmark system to help remember where the Town Hall is but there wasn't anything worth the mark. It was just more apartments and a few coffee shops. Someone had to map this place out so no one would get lost. Before he knew it, they were at a strip mall and shopping for simple furniture. Sora got a TV for his room, a couch and chair for his living room and that was about it. When he made it clear to Robert it was all he needed. They moved to the clothing store right next door.

It was here Sora was unsure. His style wasn't...bright and lots of the colors were bright. There were a few selections of dark colors but most of it was just bright stuff. It took some time but he found a few things at last. Even some new black boots. He would have to make a mental note to get fabric and make his own clothes or invest in dying the fabric darker colors. He grins and thinks back to his game. But it faded when his mind shot the idea down. Saying it would never work out and that he was stupid to try to use that to his advantage. So much so that the brunet felt stupid for even thinking about trying. He just follows Robert to a formal store for his uniform then back to their apartment complex. After closing and locking the door, Sora threw the bags onto the floor. Pulling his bag onto the floor as well; opening it with ease. Getting the iPod out, the brunet got the headphones and blasted the music. Listening to the music while pacing. Doing his best not to scream at his inner demons. Hoping the music could make the voice quiet down and have some moment of joy in his otherwise pathetic life. The brunet turns the volume to max and doesn't care if it would bother anyone next door. He sang his heart out as loud as he wanted. Thinking once the music had pushed the demon back down again.

Heading to his bag, he pulls the switch out and turns it on. Then pulls the tablet out. His idea would be simple. Link's sheikah slate could carry everything he came across in Hyrule. He had magic and if he did it right then maybe. Maybe Sora could make it close to that. Combine Science with Magic and have a working slate for himself. It would have infinite storage for everything he had. He would no longer need a backpack. It could even clip to his belt. He felt himself smile and this time, the music made it hard for his thoughts to backtalk his ideas down. He studies the slate and sees how it would work on reality level. It would mean altering the tablet he has from the inside. Easily, Sora takes the tablet cover off and sees the motherboard. He couldn't change too much but he also knew he couldn't just add the magic. Sora then looks at the SIM card and smiles as he pulls it out. The motherboard didn't have to be altered! He could use the SIM card as storage and just add the spell to that. He could also add the spells to summon the items to reality. Now, how to use the magic without going overboard.

An idea hit him then and without any paper and on the spot, holds the SIM card in one hand and has the other cover it. Using the image of infinite space in his mind, he focused on pushing a magical force into the chip with the concept he envisioned. Letting the magic do what needed to be done to make his goal a reality. The once dormant magic pulsed from deep inside his body seconds after he began to use it. Pulling power from within and having his body feel it flow from his core to his arms and into the object he held. Once the magic completed its goal, it stopped but Sora still felt it flowing through his veins once again. Now being active, it made the message to him clear. It has to be used. There was so much stored within him due to the years of being gone. The minute he tapped into the source. The minute it felt him pulling on it was the minute it begged for more than a single use. He wouldn't disappoint it though. After placing the SIM card back in place, he puts the tablet back together and uses it to create a case to attach to his belt easily and all with a single wave of his hand.

The magic wanted to be used and it knew what he wanted. It did it in a single wave and just had him proudly smile. It was enough to calm the power down but mentally he felt it still had that message going. Back in Shibuya, he learned of D&D. A tabletop game that he sadly never got to play but managed to look up the spells for fun. Many were applicable now and would become a reality here. One in particular he was really curious about was called Find Familiar. It costs someone a spell slot but allows the summoner to bring forth a familiar of their choosing. The ideal way to play but that was for a world with no magic. Here, it was a real spell and meant different things. The familiar choosing wouldn't be on his end. If anything, it meant his spirit would search how his strength could and would look like in a real form. So the only thing he could do was cast it and see what his spirit's form would be. The brunet closed his eyes and breathed out. Feeling his magic once again activate and flow out from his chest. It was taking its time in finding the form. It had to be accurate.

Once the magic picked the form, the power needed stopped and calmed down within him. The brunet carefully opens one eye and then the other to make sure what he was seeing to be true. Before him, standing on the tablet was...a dragon. Not big but one he knew to be an exact copy of a picture he once saw a pseudo dragon. The beast tilts its head when he does and then stands on its four legs, wings folded against its red body.

'Hello, I take it you are my master.'

The brunet looks around then at the dragon. He wasn't losing it. He really was the only here.

'You seem sad for one with so much unused magic. I sensed it the minute I came to be. What ails you Master?' The dragon asks.

"I am fine. I am not...sad." Sora lies. "Far from sad. I am happy. Thrilled to be home, why would I be sad being back here?"

The dragon just stares at him. Undaunted by the obvious lies he spoke and the brunet knew full well they were lies. Two days being back here and he still felt alone. In Shibuya, he was alone as well. Trying to make friends turned out to be pointless since many shunned him at the start. Sora did attempt at least two more times when he was made to go to the college there but it didn't work out well. In the end, he gave up and assigned himself to being alone in a place he didn't feel part of. Years later, he managed to feel at home enough to get things in a row but then it just shoved him back here. Back to square one. His home had new people, people who didn't know him and seem to be the same as others back in that city. Too busy surviving and he understood their concerns.

'Master, please don't despair. You have me now.' The dragon puts a clawed foot onto his hand.

The brunet turns his hand over and lets the creature crawl up his arm. Watching it crawl onto his shoulders and stay there. Adjusting to lay or sit. Leaving him to ponder his thoughts again. The friends he knew to be in this world weren't in this town anymore and no doubt had their own lives. It was understandable though. He understood that but maybe they were looking for him? Trying to find him and thinking he was in some other world they knew or maybe even part of another city on this new planet? The voice in his own head just laughed that idea to dust. As if they were looking for him. No one was. They forgot about him again. Got busy with living in the moment and learned to move on. Even if he did run into one or two of them. There was no doubt that they wouldn't even remember his name.

"I have work at 3pm today. Can I ask you to watch the house for me while I am away?" Sora doesn't look at the dragon.

'I will guard the home. You must promise me that you will be safe.'

"Oh, I need to name you or do you come with one?" Sora asks.

'I come with one. My name is Andusk. It is a pleasure to meet you Master.'

"Male or female?"

'Female' She shows her stinger. 'Males have a bigger stinger than females.'

"It is an honor Andusk. My name is Sora. Please guard our home until I return okay? I'll be safe. It isn't a dangerous job I do." He laughs but the smile he has falls as he picks her up and places her on the counter. "You stay safe as well."

He let her stay near the tablet. Turning the iPod off, Sora puts that and the headset next to it. Walking around the bar and to the clothes bags. It was easy to find his uniform and easy to change after a quick shower. The outfit felt awkward on him but this was the uniform given to him. It was only day one of the job. All he had to do was perform when told too for a few hours then come back home. Plain and simple, right? He walks out and shuts the apartment door but doesn't let go. In the back of his mind, it brought up a point he had been trying to ignore. A question he didn't want to think on. Ignoring it didn't work once he brought his attention to it. Did he belong here? If not here, then why was he back here? What purpose did he have to serve in being here once again? He had the same feeling back in Shibuya for years. Why was he there? What was the point in sending him there? Was it the price for abusing the power he had? Was it punishment? If so, why would it bring him back to the world he had been born in? Did he gain too much there?

The brunet shakes it off and locks the door. Walking down the hall then down the steps. The demons in his mind making their grip on his mind worse. Having him question why he was bothering. What was the point in getting a job and attempting to fit into a world he had no right to be back in? There was no purpose to be here outside of being used like a tool. The minute he got settled, fate would jerk him back to square one. It was his crime for abusing what the world offered to him. Sora made a mistake in saving Kairi and now, he was to be in this loop. His freedom for the freedom of others. Then that voice added the worst of all to his mind. It claimed his friends didn't care if he lost his freedom. They had theirs still. They had the right to live until their time would be up. Stating that they would never risk their freedom to find him. His steps slow to a complete stop as his mind focused on that and that alone.

Crime, his crime and fate...the demon had a point. Riku..all of them were Masters. They wouldn't risk that for him. A nobody with no title and a failure of the Mark of Mastery. Why risk their power for him? There would be no point. The brunet bites back his urge to shed a tear and focuses on getting to work. He could cry at home. Sora could let it all out there and move on. For once, he couldn't help but agree with his own mental voice. It was correct. Waiting on people who forgot about him or didn't wish to save him would be pointless. All he could do was live day by day until the world shoved him back to square one again. It would take another 4-5 years but at least he had time to get somewhere again.
