On with the show!

CW: Ben 10

Chapter II: Who & Where

Opening monologue: My name is Ben Tennyson, and I am the greatest hero in the Universe. When I was 10 years old, I found a strange watch that fell from space. It attached itself to my wrist and life has never been the same. With the help from my grandpa Max, my doofus cousin Gwen, my best friend Kevin and my partner Rook, we save the world and Universe from those who would do it harm. I am Ben 10.

Previously on Ben 10: During a fight with Eon, I was accidentally sent flying through a portal into a different Universe. If this is not what he had in mind when he wanted to get rid of me, where the hell am I? And who is this woman with a red cape floating above me?

(Earth 38 – National City * Late morning)

Kara Danvers had just finished her daily morning antics of travelling the world and stopping some of the local accidents and mishaps; catching a falling satellite, catching an art thief in Madrid, stopping a train from falling the off a cliff in Kaznia, what she would call a regular Tuesday. She quickly made her way back to National City as she had the President of the United States visiting and she wanted to get her questions before she was mobbed. She darted behind a news van and changed into her civilian clothes, faster than anyone could even blink and made her way to the front of the crowds of people to where the other reporters were standing, or more importantly, where her friend James Olsen had saved her place.

"Looks like you've had a fun morning," he commented as Kara handed a bottle of vodka, "Russia?"

"No, Kaznia," she replied before turning to the president, her voice recorder in hand, "Madam President? Madam President?"

"Yes Miss Danvers," President Marsdin spoke calmly.

"You're about to hold a summit at Camp David on the anniversary of the Alien Amnesty Act tomorrow," Kara began, "can you say a few words on what this legislation has meant to you over the past few years,"

"Of course. The impact has been far-reaching and profound…" the president began to answer.

"You are really good at multitasking," James admitted, talking low enough to not be heard by the recorder.

"Some might call it 'super'" Kara quipped, "you know, for the first time in my life, it feels like I have everything under control."

(A Lab * An hour later)

Dr Vose had just gotten back from his meeting with J'onn J'onzz and was making his way over to the restricted lab to check the state of his latest experiment when he had been attacked by a young beautiful woman and a rougher looking man, the later who had shot him directly in the chest with some sort of energy blast from a simple looking gun.

"Rough day, huh?" Mercy sarcastically asked as her brother dragged the man up from the floor and grabbed a small laser from his pocket.

Getting the idea of the attacker was going to do the doctor begged, "Please… don't."

"Would you believe if I said that this isn't any fun for me either?" Otis spoke as he proceeded to cut off the doctor's tusks that extended from the side of his left forearm. The doctor let out a scream as the process of cutting off his tusks was very painful and couldn't believe that this man removing a part of his body that his people saw as a defining trait. Once he was done, he tossed the severed tusk over to his sister and carried on to cut off the doctor's other tusk. "Well… maybe a little bit of fun." He cut off the other tusk and tossed it again to his sister and chuckled, "wouldn't want you to be lopsided now, would we?"

"You are such a child," Mercy spoke in an irritated tone, placing the severed tusk into the authentication scanner on the wall.

"Access granted," the sensor spoke monotonously.

Unbeknownst to the duo, Dr Vose activated his distress beacon and within moments, Supergirl came smashing through the large window on the side of the building.

"I'm don't think he wants you going in there," Kara suggested.

The pair looked over to the Girl of Steel nonchalantly, they were prepared for her arrival. Otis pulled a small device and device from his pocket and activated it, sending out a high pitch screeching sound that, to Kara's enhanced hearing, ear piecing and agonising, causing her to keel over. Mercy then proceeded to throw some sort of band at Kara's legs, trapping them together before Otis shot her with his energy gun, sending her flying out of the back window. She levitated momentarily before the device dragged her down violently into the crowded pavement below, created a small crater.

Kara tried pulling at the band, trying to snap it off, but it must've been alien technology as it wouldn't move an inch.

"I thought you could use some backup," Brainiac 5 announced as he landed, "you're free now Supergirl."

"Huh," she quizzically spoke, looking up at her ally then back to the cuffs, "the cuffs are still…" The cuff immediately snapped open.

"Opened?" he interrupted, "I was multitasking."

"Thanks," they both smiled at each other before she shot off into the sky.

"You're welcome," he said into thin air.

Supergirl made her way into the restricted lab just as the brother and sister team were leaving with their prize. Otis noticed her entrance, so he slid a small round device across the smooth silicone floor.

"A little going-away present," he quipped. Supergirl instantly recognised it for what it was and darted in front of the doctor to shield from the small explosive, however, she was unable to stop the perpetrators from getting away with whatever it was they stole.

DEO personnel had made their way to the lab in quick time to assess the damage and treat the injured. Dr Vose's mutilations were being dealt with by a medical professional when his friend had arrived.

"Dr Vose," J'onn uttered calmly, "I came as soon as I heard, are you alright?"

"They cut off my tusks J'onn," he bluntly replied, "maybe I was wrong; none of us are safe."

"J'onn?" the Martian flicked his head at the mention of his name and Supergirl standing by the door, "what are you doing here?"

"Dr Vose is a friend of mine," he clarified, walking over to her, "I heard about the attack on the news. He's an outspoken advocate for alien rights. Most likely the target of a hate crime," said the statement quietly.

"This wasn't a hate crime J'onn, this was a high-level robbery," she argued, "these guys were professionals. They had gravity cuffs; they stole an E.M.P. If they blow it, the energy wave could take out the city's entire power grid."

"They cut off his tusks Kara, the very thing that distinguishes him as an alien,"

"To trick a biometric scan to gain access,"

"Look, I've been living amongst the people getting a feel for what is going on," J'onn explained, "there's word of fresh wave anti-alien sentiment,"

"Look, J'onn, I'm really sorry about what happened to your friend, but I think in this case, being an alien, it just so happens to him being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

J'onn wanted to believe what she was saying, but in his gut, he knew it was something deeper.

"I'm late for a meeting at CatCo but Brainy is on the case and I promise you, we will find who did this to Dr Vose.

"Alright," he muttered as she walked off.

(D.E.O. Headquarters)

"I'm back," Brainiac 5 announced as walked over the DEO Director Danvers as she walked to the balcony that looked over the city, "having just assisted Supergirl. It was quite rewarding. Clean up is dealing with any mess on the ground and in the lab and someone is helping Dr Vose with his injuries."

"I'm very happy you were able to help her," she thanked before switching to a serious tone, "but I am still annoyed at you for not letting know in advance about the President's visit. We seem to have a communication problem."

"Oh, I assure you," he responded, "I understand everyone word that comes out of your mouth,"

"Yes, but you are not comprehending it. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been acting like a grain of sand in my boot," she clarified

"Oooooo," he grunted, "that sounds very annoying and irritating,"

"My point exactly! Whenever I tell you to do something, you either do very little or go completely overboard,"

"Yes, but I thought…"

She interrupted him before he had a chance to mention the Legion again, "This isn't the Legion. You can't just go, rogue, whenever you feel like it," she sighed before continuing "you don't leave this building… you don't breathe unless I tell you to. Is that understood?"

"Affirmative," he simply spoke.

"Good," she replied, walking up the metallic stairs. She only managed to get halfway up the staircase before a blaring alarm went off and flashing blue lights engulfed the interior of the building. "Ohhhhhhh," she groaned, "what now?"

"I never thought this alarm would ever go off," Brainy admitted, starring off to the far wall at the large monitors

"What's this for?" Alex questioned.

"That would be the Extra-Universal Energy Detector," Brainiac explained, running over to the computer.

"Please use words that I'll understand," she pleaded, following closely behind.

"I built this to sense the presence of portals from other Universes." he clarified, "Breaches; similar to that of those used by Kara's Earth 1 friend Cisco. This is telling us that someone is going to or already has teleported to our Universe from another. It is an infinite Multiverse, so it is impossible to say which one." He brought a top view map of National City highlighting the area of the breach, the park. "How would you like to handle this Director?"

"We don't know if this person is friend or foe, so we don't want to go in with hostile intent and provoke them," Alex figured, "I'll call Kara and get her to have a look." She grabbed her phone and called her sister.

(CatCo Headquarters)

"These are the stories that need to be covered for tomorrow's headline," James announced, "everyone, take your pick." It was like a mob in the meeting room amongst all the writers as they all tried to get the best story for themselves. Kara had been at the top of the pecking order for her choice of articles or would've been if she hadn't been interrupted. She slid her phone out of her pocket and saw that it was her sister trying to contact her; anytime time her sister rung her while she was work meant it had to serious. She made her way to a quiet corner of the office, just so no one could hear her before answering.

"What's up Alex?" she asked,

"Did you know if anyone from Earth 1 like Barry or Cisco say they were going to stop by?" Alex calmly questioned.

"No why?" she answered back, slightly confused, "is someone at the D.E.O.?"

"That's what I thought. Brainy's picked up some weird energy in the east side park and he thinks we have an uninvited guest. I need you to check out if there is anything there."

'Wonder what's going on?' Kara thought, "I'll go check it out." She ended the call and quickly dashed for the meeting room, grabbed the article she wanted, tossed it on her desk and darted for the staircase before changing into her superhero attire. She sped up the stairs for the roof exit and flew off in the direction of the energy disturbance.

(East Side Park)

Kara made it to the park in under a minute but from where she was floating, she couldn't see anything too out of the ordinary. There was no portal, no aliens or monsters, the only thing she could see was a small trench carved into the grass and one person walking towards the city.

'He looks human, but he might be wearing a disguise,' she thought. She tapped her ear to activate her comm. Unit, "Alex, there's not much here. The only thing I can see is a guy walking to the city."

"Is there anything out of the ordinary about him? Is he human? Does he have any weapons or tech on him?" Alex demanded.

Supergirl quickly x-rayed him but found nothing. "He is human and apart from two bands that are covering his forearms, he looks perfectly normal."

"Find out what you can, but do it quietly," Alex ordered, "we don't want to have an incident while the President is visiting."

"I'll see what I can do," Kara replied, terminating the communication. She floated down closer to the ground but the sudden rush of air must've alerted him because she was face to face with her unknown visitor.

"Uuhhhh, hi?" he spoke curiously, waving his hand at her.

He was about six-foot-tall and relatively lean with a small amount of muscle mass, had brown hair and beard and some of the greenest eyes she had ever seen. "Who are you?" she asked, trying to not to seem confrontational.

'She doesn't know who I am. Yep, definitely not my Earth,' he thought. "The name's Ben," he spoke, "Ben Tennyson, who are you?"

'He doesn't know who I am. He's definitely not from around here,' she thought before replying "you can call me Supergirl."

"A bit cliché, don't you think?" Ben joked, "Mind telling me where I am? I kinda fell out of a portal and I am a bit lost."

She chose to ignore the remark about her superhero moniker. "You're on Earth, National City," Kara clarified. The man, Ben, was keeping quite calm and did not attempt to try and attack her, not that he could harm her she figured. "Did you say you fell out of a portal?"

"No shit," he sarcastically remarked, "I'm from Earth too. About five minutes ago I came tumbling out of a portal that dropped me here."

Apart from being a little rude, she couldn't sense any hostile intent from Ben, so she decided to settle on the ground and walk over to him. "I'm gonna need you to come with me. The D.E.O. are gonna want to ask you some questions."

"Unknown DNA sample detected," an electronic voice spoke, startling the Girl of Steel, "attempting scan." As soon as the last word was spoken, a yellow light extended from Ben's left arm and completed a vertical sweep up and down her form. "Kryptonian DNA sample acquired. Scan complete."

"Hmmm, turns out my guess was right," Ben said to himself looking down at his arm then back to Kara, "you are an alien and I can turn into one of you now."

"What was that?" confusion clear in her voice, "and what do you mean by 'turn into one of you'?"

"Let's have a test run!" he shouted, he ran down the field and pictured his Kryptonian form before yelling "Ultraman!" His body was immediately engulfed in a green light and standing in his place was a six-foot-four man with brown hair and beard but wearing a form-fitting black and green spandex suit. The soles and tops of his boots were green and he had a green ring going around the top of his suit as his neck that leads to a green stripe going down his front and back. He had another green stripe going down the sides of his sleeves which stopped halfway down his forearms. He wore black fingerless gloves and there was a disjointed 'X' on his back and chest, both sides of the later pointing to a green Omnitrix symbol.

Kara watched as Ben, in this form, launch off the ground and into the sky and shoot off towards the city at super speed; she was in complete and utter shock. "Alex, he's some sort of shapeshifter," she relayed, tapping her ear, "there was a green flash and he just flew off towards the city!"

"We just detected a massive surge of energy where you are and we're just about to call," Alex hastily replied, "follow him and make sure he doesn't wreck the city!"

"I'm already on it," said as she levitated herself off the ground and followed the shapeshifter in tow.

"Wooooooo!" Ben screamed as he flew, weaving in and out of the buildings that littered the city. He had other flying transformations, but none felt more like himself than this form, it felt like he was human just with powers. He suddenly stopped in front of glass window and admired himself, he was a few inches taller than when he was human and a lot more muscular. He looked around at his surroundings and noticed that he perfect vision, he could see for miles, but also saw that he had developed x-ray vision. His hearing had greatly increased as well, he could the make out conversations of the people below him, hear their individual heartbeats, even hear the sounds of pennies and needles dropping to the floor. His enhanced hearing alerted to the imminent arrival of the source of this transformation's DNA, Supergirl.

"Alright buddy," she spoke as if she was telling off a child, "you've had your fun, but you need to come with me right now. Let's do this peacefully so no one gets hurt,"

"How do I know you're not gonna strap me to a table and cut me open? Not that you could but still," he joked, with a hint of seriousness in his tone.

"You watch too many movies," she noted, "life will be a lot easier if you come with me now. I don't want to bring you in by dragging you by your legs,"

"I'd like to see you try," Ben remarked, getting within inches of Kara's face. This was exactly the situation she was trying to avoid. He smirked, "I'll go with you. Lead the way, Supergirl."

Supergirl gave him a look before turning and flying off in the direction of the D.E.O. headquarters, with Ben following closely.

"We should race later," Ultraman suggested, "see who is faster."

Kara rolled her eyes, "God, you're annoying!" Ben just sniggered in response.

(D.E.O. Headquarters)

Supergirl and Ben arrived promptly on the D.E.O. balcony before walking down the metallic steps to main ops area. They were both getting looks from agents on all levels, mainly towards Ben, all wondering who their new visitor was and whether he was friend or foe. Once at the bottom, they both greeted by a woman and man, who they were, Ben had no clue.

"Not as high-tech as the Plumber base back home in London, but not bad," Ben muttered to himself.

"Alex, Brainy, this is Ben," Kara introduced, "and he is a shapeshifter. He's the one that came through the portal you detected earlier Brainiac."

"Hello, and not exactly," Ben began, pointing at the Omnitrix on his chest, "it's this. It allows me…" he was briefly interrupted by the same electronic voice from before.

"Unknown DNA sample detected," the badge spoke, "attempting scan." Immediately, the green hourglass illuminated yellow and scanned Brainiac 5. "Coluan DNA sample acquired. Scan complete."

"Astonishing," a speechless Brainy said.

"I guess that is another one to add to the arsenal," Ben admitted.

"Is that gonna happened a lot?" Kara asked curiously.

"Are a lot of different aliens around here?" he said back, receiving a nod from Kara, "then yeah."

"Can we just back up a little," Alex demanded, "What do mean 'arsenal'?"

"Oh, right," Ben continued, "as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, this thing allows me to transform into over a million different alien species, giving me all of their powers and abilities."

"Incredible," Brainiac remarked, "how did you come across such a device?"

Alex also wanted to know how someone got their hands in what quite possibly be the most powerful weapon on the planet. Not only that, but she was also thinking what else he could turn into and how they could stop someone with that much power at their fingertips.

"I can tell you all about it later," Ben answered, hitting the Omnitrix symbol on his chest, engulfing the hallway with a green light as Ben transformed back to his human form, "but right now, I could go for some tea."

A/N: There you have chapter 2. They won't all be this short but I wanted to get the main setting and set up over quickly to make it easier to get into the meat of the story.

Yes, I know, Ultraman is a stupid name. I will replace it once I think of a better one, but this was the first thing to come to mind.

I'll try and get Chapter 3 out soon. See you guys next time.
