"Listen up!", said Crazy Hand, the one in charge during the summer. "The new campus helpers will be arriving in an hour. All of you, GET READY." *heeheehee intensifies*
All of the campus helpers thought the same thing: Gemma.
Lily hugged her Mudkip at the thought of it. Ethan and Joe both got the thought to nudge each other at the same time. It was weird. Alex awkwardly looked around. Adora and Syeed fake laughed. Miguel cursed. No one felt comfortable.
Eventually, the new kids DID arrive. Quite a bit, actually. Crazy Hand, being crazy, yelled at the kids to shake hands with each other. It was really awkward.
Everyone was thinking that it was embarrassing, cause trust me, kids above 7 get REAL awkward when making new friends, and never wanna do it…
Alex, the leader of the campus helpers, showed the new kids to their cabin. Everyone was chilling and settling in, when Adora noticed that there was one kid who, unlike the others, looked somehow really confused, even though Alex had explained everything. She noticed that this child was wearing a swamp green Guns 'n Roses t-shirt. Another kid obsessed with a band. She decided to talk to them.
"I have observed you are wearing a rock band shirt." Adora was wearing a black and red Beatles tank top over a gray t.
"Yeah," the other kid responded.
"Do you like rock?"
"Mm-hm."
"What's your name?"
"I dunno."
"Huh?"
"I forgot. I don't know my name, age, gender, or who I am."
Adora thought for a second. "Oh. What DO you know about yourself?"
"Let's see… I was traumatized when I was really little, I have eczema and a bunch of allergies, my attention span sucks, my brain doesn't let me wear matching socks, I never cry, I'm good at RPGs, I like writing, I don't like reading, I have two guinea pigs, but I don't know their names."
The new kid got out a pet carrier. There were two guinea pigs inside it.
"You have guinea pig?", Adora asked. "Those are my FAVORITE."
"Really?"
"Yeah. They are little furry potatoes."
"Indeed. I'm planning on setting up a bigger cage for them."
"Piggies. Can hold one of your furry potatoes?"
"Yeah, sure."
The two guinea pigs really seemed to like Adora. The new kid had decided names for them: Sabre and Epee, since they (idk the kid's gender) also were skilled in swordplay, apparently. The two talked for a while.
Crazy Hand blew a fog horn. It was time for everyone to be assigned summer jobs. Great.
"Adora, cafeteria."
Adora groaned. Worst job.
"Alec, trading post."
At least it was better than the LEGO store.
"Alexander, bike shed."
Not bad. Alex was for some reason good at fixing bikes, so it made sense.
"Brady, you're the oldest one here. C/H manager."
Brady just wanted alone time…
"Ethan and Joe, 'elevator bros' again."
Nice.
"Ingrid, library, again."

"Lily, training supervisor."

"Kid with the same name as a fighter, cabin cleaning."
-Lucas- kid with the same name as a fighter sighed.
"Miguel, delivery, again."
Whatever.
"Robel, observatory."

Crazy Hand went down the list for everyone returning, and a different one for the new kids. At the end, he let out all of the laughing he was holding inside. It was loud.
The forgetful new kid got weapon shed. Not bad. When going back to the cabin, they noticed a wrinkly purple person. He didn't seem to fit in. Whatever.
