A/N: TWELVE REVIEWS! You guys are AMAZING! I'm so very happy that the first chapter is liked so much. Now a lot of people wanted Adam and Kim to talk about their night with their friends and that was the plan all along. Hope you enjoy it.

Adam ran himself a shower and slipped under the hot mist. He ran his fingers through his hair and closed his eyes, images of the woman assaulting his senses. Her strength had surprised him as she pushed him against her front door but the softness of her skin and the tightness of her body around his as they had sex made him want her again. He wanted to push her against the same tile walls he was showering in and make her scream. She was totally under his skin and he didn't know what to do to get her out. He changed into a pair of sweats and a t-shirt and poured himself a glass of whiskey to try to shake his thoughts from the woman even if it was early in the morning. He was supposed to meet Kevin for a late lunch and he knew that he'd get questioned about his night so he decided to catch a few hours of sleep before suffering a Kevin Atwater interrogation.

Kim groaned under the incessant ringing of her phone. She knew that the girls were calling to get the goods on her night with the stranger at the bar but they were interrupting a pretty good dream about them having sex on the kitchen table.

"I'm dead, stop calling." She answered into her phone before hanging it up only for it to ring again. "What?" She called roughly. "What? She practically jumped from the information she was given and when she laid eyes on her alarm clock, it really said it was one in the afternoon. "Yes, I'm awake. Showering and getting dressed and I'm on my way. She was supposed to meet up with the girls an hour ago for some afternoon pampering. She made her way to the shower and turned it hot, trying to get him out of her head. It was a harder task than she thought as her mind imagined them in her shower as he thrust into her until she came. "Fuck." She growled under her breath as her body coiled with want. This one-night stand was a terrible idea because all she wanted now was to find out who he was. She washed herself and decided on a loose v-neck with a pair of boyfriend jeans, pulling her hair up into a ponytail and grabbing a shirt to cover herself up. She headed to Serena's place and when she got there, she was waiting for her with Maggie and Kim's partner Julie Taye.

"Come on girl, you have to spill." Serena gushed.

"The two of them were totally hot for each other." Maggie fanned herself thinking of how Kim had been with that stranger.

"Please tell me that you have a name for that mystery man." Julie whistled teasingly.

"No name but the sex was PHE-NO-ME-NAL." Kim fanned herself as the girls took it all in. Kim wasn't usually the girl to kiss and tell but she knew how relentless the girls were and if she didn't give them something, she knew they'd be like sharks circling in bloody waters. "Last night wasn't about that." It was the truth but she woke up regretting that particular decision.

"I bet you think that's a stupid decision now."

"Maybe but I don't exactly have the job for something serious."

"Not serious but you could have a little fun, you know, take the edge off after tough days on the street."

"Too late for that now." She shrugged. Even if she hated it and her body was itching for more, there was nothing she could do about it now."

Adam woke up to some incessant knocking on his door. He rolled onto his back and ran his hands over his face. It was too early to wake up in his opinion and he was only due to get with Kevin at one.

"Ruz, wake the hell up." Kevin's voice yelled from behind the door.

"Shit." Adam swung his legs to the side of his bed and stood. He looked at his clock to see it was past one and he was late for the meet so it had forced Kevin to make his way there.

"Open up." He kept banging.

"I'm awake, you can stop yelling." He swung his front door open and went for his kitchen, needing his caffeine.

"Well your sorry ass didn't show up so I had to hunt you all the way down here."

"Sorry about that." He grabbed a stool while he waited for the machine to do its thing.

"It was that good huh?" Kevin grinned.

"Watch your mouth Kev, your momma raised you better than that." He smirked.

"I knew it." Kevin was like a kid in a candy store.

"It was hot man, she was HOT."

"My man." They did their handshake as the machine beeped. "You going to hook up with her again?" Kev questioned as Adam handed him a cup.

"Nah." Adam wasn't in for the interrogation at that particular moment.

"Nah? Come on brother. If it was that good you've gotta see her again."

"Can't do that, she didn't give me her name."

"So what? You just bailed?" Adam wasn't that type and Kevin knew it.

"What else was I supposed to do Kev? We're fucking cops. What kind of relationship would that be?"

"A casual one. You can't go through life like that. You're allowed some happiness."

"I know I just couldn't do that to HER." He knew that made no sense since she was only a stranger but that's what his gut was telling him.

"That means we gotta get you back out there."

"Nah, I'm good." He emptied his cup and set it back in the sink. "What are you up for?" Adam pulled menus out of his island.

"You know I'm up for anything. You pick."

"Fine." Adam made the call and they ended up eating on the couch with last night's game on repeat on tv, Kevin talking his ear off about his own evening.

"Alright Kim so what's the plan?" Maggie questioned her as she painted her nails a navy blue colour.

"Plan for what?"

"Finding the stranger." Maggie deadpanned.

"No plan."

"Come on Burgess." Taye rolled her eyes. "We're cops. I'm pretty sure we can find who that guy is pretty easy."

"That's not what CPD resources are for Taye." Kim argued.

"You're such a party crasher."

"Whatever's done is done." She shrugged.

"Looks like we'll have to bring you out again after your next shift." Serena announced.

"Maybe you'll bump into him again." Maggie agreed.

"I doubt it, it's not really his scene." Kim.

"And you know that how?" Serena put her hands under her chin, wanting to know more.

"He told me as much while we were at the bar." Kim didn't think it was all that interesting information but the girls seemed to drink all of it up.

"Interesting. So he must be a sports bar kind of guy." Julie mused. "There are a few around the district. Maybe we goes to one of them."

"The only bars we have around the district are filled with cops. I doubt we'll find him there." Julie cocked her head to the side, Kim had a point.

"Fine. Let's send this out to the universe and hopefully your paths will cross again." The girls spent the rest of the afternoon painting their nails and getting facials, stuffing their faces in ice cream.

Kim returned home around seven with a bag of sushis she had gotten on her way back and she just wanted to sit back and enjoy them with a glass of white wine and think of nothing but clearly her mind had other ideas. The rom com that was laying in the background of her tv did nothing to help. Her mind gave her flashes of shoulder rubs to half-dressed make out sessions some x-rated imagery in a few spots in her place, making her all hot for the stranger she could no longer put her hands on.

"God I'm going to kill them for making me do this." She threw out her dinner after she was done and hopped into a cold shower, trying to douse the flames in her body down. She wanted him again and she couldn't have him and that frustrated her even more. She was due back on shift in the morning and if she couldn't get that under control by then, the day would be long and she didn't wish that for herself.

Kevin left Adam's around eight and Adam found himself alone with his thoughts. He didn't have enough to do to keep his mind from wandering to her and he hated himself for not insisting about getting her name. He needed to get his head on straight for his shift in the morning but he also knew that Kevin would probably bring the subject on the table, doing nothing to help Adam get her off of his mind. He grabbed a bottle of whiskey and a glass and a spot on his balcony overlooking the city. The night was void of clouds and the stars were out but Adam could still hear the hustle and bustle of the city and he loved it. The alcohol went down his throat with ease but the more he took, the more she invaded his thoughts. He was a homebody and thoughts of her in the tub surrounded by bubbles and a glass of wine made his insides ignite. Thoughts of spending time on the couch with her draped all over him or straddling him as she distracted him from whatever was on the tv filled him with peace. How could one night with a stranger turn his insides upside down like that he didn't know and maybe he'd never get to cross paths with her again but one thing for sure, she was under his skin and he didn't know what to do to get her out from it. He downed his last glass and went to bed, hoping for a bit of clarity in the morning.

The faint sound of Kim's buzzing phone woke her up. It was still dark out but she loved taking that quiet time to get ready for shift. She showered and made herself some coffee before grabbing a bagel and spreading some cream cheese on it and heading out the door. She walked through the doors of twenty one and went to Platt as she flagged her.

"What's up Sarge?"

"Taye called in sick, I need to assign you a partner for the day." Kim groaned. Just what she needed.

"Hey Trudy, I need a uniform for a case." Hank Voight asked the desk Sargent, Kim looking on.

"Hey Atwater." She flagged Kevin as he walked in, exchanging a nod with Kim as he made it to her. "Don't change out, you're with Intelligence today."

"What about Ruzek?" He knew Adam hated being partnered up with anyone but him.

"Don't worry about Boy Wonder, I'll find someone to keep your seat warm." She deadpanned.

"Come on let's go." Voight motioned for Kevin to follow him up to the bullpen.

"Yes Sir." Kevin gave Kim a polite smile like he did with the rest of the force and he disappeared upstairs.

"Stay put Burgess, I'll find you someone." Kim nodded and saw a friend she hadn't seen in a while so they started up a conversation while she waited for her partner to get there.

Adam woke up late again so he quickly changed and grabbed his duffle bag before heading to the district. He knew Platt would have his head for being late but if he hurried it wouldn't be that bad. He bounced up the stairs and headed to the locker room, knowing Kevin was probably there waiting for him. When he didn't see him, he quickly changed and headed for the front desk, not so ready to face Platt's wrath.

"Glad you could join us Ruzek." She growled under her breath.

"Sorry Sarge. Where's Atwater?"

"Detailed to intelligence." She wasn't even looking at him anymore.

"Oh come on Sarge." He threw his head back in frustration. He hated being partnered up with anyone other than Kevin because he was the best fit with him and it helped that they were best friends. "Please tell me that I won't stuck with a useless cop." They were usually sent in tougher spots in the city and the wrong partner would kill his vibe.

"You're going to be partnered with Kim Burgess." She handed him his keys. "Better behave."

The officer next to him stopped her conversation and turned around. "Hey I'm Kim." When their eyes met, Kim became an unhealthy shade of red and Adam's lips turned into a smirk. "Shit." She cursed. The subject of her obsession was standing in front of her and she'd be confined in a patrol car with him all shift. This was bound to be interesting.
