Chapter 2

Kyle and Neddie stood in an alley.

"What are we doing here?" Kyle asked.

"Waiting for my supplier," Neddie replied.

"I can't believe it," Kyle said. "She walks out when Kylie is 2-years-old, and now she just expects to waltz back into my life."

"Have you let her see the kids?" Neddie asked.

"No," Kyle replied.

"You should let her," Neddie said. "I mean, she is their mother."

"I just don't want them to get their hopes up that their mother is back, only to have her leave again," Kyle said.

"I haven't seen my mother since I was 5," Neddie said. "You see your mother at least once a month."

A black Escalade pulled up. Kyle stood back while Neddie walked up to the car. Bomber Haskell stepped out with a box.

"Uncle Bomber," Neddie said.

"Nephew Neddie," Bomber said.

Bomber sat the box down and he and Neddie shared a hug.

"Always nice to see you," Bomber said.

"You too," Neddie said.

Bomber and Neddie let go of their hug. Bomber then walked over to Kyle.

"Wow," Bomber said. "Little Kyle Cleaver. My how you've grown."

"Stay away from my kids," Kyle said.

Later, Kyle, Kevin, and Kylie sat at the kitchen table eating dinner.

"Kids," Kyle said. "There's something I want to tell you."

"Is it Grandpa Beaver?" Kevin asked.

"Is he sick?" Kylie asked.

"Am I in the will?" Kevin asked.

"No," Kyle replied. "It's about your mother."

"What about her?" Kevin asked.

"She's back in town and she wants to see you," Kyle replied.

"Oh," Kevin said.

"You mean I get to see Mom?" Kylie asked. "I don't really remember her. Does she have dark blonde hair like me, or dark brown hair like Kevin?"

"She has dark blonde hair like you," Kyle replied.

"I don't want to see her," Kevin said.

"I do," Kylie said.

"She's just going to leave again," Kevin said.

"You take that back!" Kylie shouted.

"Kylie," Kyle said. "Calm down."

Kylie pointed at Kevin.

"I hate you!" Kylie screamed before getting up and running upstairs.

Later that night, Kyle walked into Kevin's room where Kevin lied down on his bed.

"I know you don't want to see your mother," Kyle said. "I really don't want you to see her either. But she wants to see you."

"I know she's just going to leave again," Kevin said.

"I know," Kyle said. "But will you please just agree to see her? It will make your sister happy."

"Fine," Kevin said.
