Chapter Two

Captain Lee Crane had a headache in his office recalling personal for the new cruise. The last officer he called was Commander Jeff Adams. He would be arriving in a few hours after going to San Francisco with his new girl friend Leslie for the day out visiting the sights.

Lee had called his wife Rose Marie to bring him something to eat, while leaving the boys at school for the time being until it was time for the bus to pick them up and have the nanny watch them. Checking through his address book with looking for the number of Executive officer Stu Riley. He had worked hard over the years to be promoted after leaving and coming back to the Seaview.

Admiral Nelson was quite pleased when he had received the request from Riley to rejoin the Institute and the submarine.

Lee rubbed his temples to try and released some of the headache tension. When there was a knock on his office door without his secretary calling him on the phone. Getting up from his seat feeling slightly weak, he opened the door to see his wife standing carrying two large white bags inside with Chinese food from the local place they use all of the time.

"I bribed Janice to let me in, while she left to go to the commissary for a quick lunch. I hope you're not upset at me Lee?" She stated with moving inside to place the two bags onto his desk.

"Of course not! What's inside smelling really toxic to my nose?" Lee asked with sitting down behind his desk, while his wife pulled out the containers of Shrimp with lobster sauce, Chicken and Chinese veggies with four egg rolls.

"Just eat the Chinese food and relax Lee. When does the Seaview leave for their destination?" She asked with pulling out the Shrimp with lobster sauce placing enough of it onto a plate using a plastic spoon nice and hot.

"In a few days Rose Marie, otherwise Doctor Donald Aussie and his team are finishing up with the Communications translator for N.A.S.A., otherwise we are going to be there to check on things in case of trouble." Lee said peaking his wife's curiosity.

"What kind of trouble is Donald Aussie expecting?" Rose Marie asked with feeling a slight chill go through her body.

"Admiral Nelson thinks that Aliens will ride on down with the signal and try to take over the complex. Otherwise it's just an idea at this time." Placing one of the medium hot shrimps into his mouth melting away with the taste.

"What does Darien think of this matter Lee?" Rose Marie finished up some of the chicken and veggies on her plate grabbing the hot container to place more of it to eat.

"I wouldn't know, Admiral Nelson didn't mention it to us in the meeting. I have a feeling once he finds out, he's going to be quite pissed off. I don't think Admiral Nelson isn't too keen on the idea either." He continued to finished up with his shrimp with lobster sauce.

"I don't think so as well Lee. We need to finish up, I have two boys that needs to be cared for once they arrive home on the school bus." She exclaimed with a frown needing to leave her husband.

"I will be home later Rose Marie, I still have more of the personal to be recalled for the cruise."

Doctor Donald Aussie walked inside for where the Communications translator was located. Doctor Lee Maywheather was supposed to make the final adjustments to the device sitting in the middle of the room, with a large antenna connected outside on the roof.

There were a guard walking around making sure that all was well without incident before the project starts up.

"Is everything all set now Doctor Mayweather?" He walked over to the translator to check the components and settings.

"We can start in the morning Doctor Aussie. We both need to get some sleep with all of the hours we have been working on the project." Doctor Mayweather exclaimed with a slight yawn and finishing up the last of his herbal tea sitting on the counter.

"Really good Doctor, I have been very anxious to get started with Admiral Nelson and his submarine to be leaving port in a few days to bring the device to the military to test further for N.A.S.A., maybe now we can finally get back to our lives?" Feeling the lost of being away from his wife and children in South Wales.

"I know what you mean, Doctor Aussie. At least we will be able to spend the money as well with the U.S. Government, The Nelson Institute paying us for putting this device together." He choked slightly with his emotions before finishing up the last few drops of his herbal tea.

Nelson Institute

Chief Francis Sharkey was going over the new personnel listing transferred over to the Institute and Seaview. The one new personal from Australia was Ensign Miles Davey age 24 communications officer. There was a special clause in his file stating that he used to work for Special services of the Military with no further information available.

Working in his small alcove of the Communications center. Tish came over to the Alcove handing the Chief the updated supplies for the Seaview that was going to be leaving in a few days. Sharkey was rubbing a hand through his grey hair from over the years when Tish knocked on the door alerting him.

"Come in please." Sharkey said enough for the person on the other side to hear. Tish walked inside with two clipboards listing all of the supplies and equipment. "Thanks Tish. I am hoping to finish this listing in a few hours."

"How did it go with reading Ensign Davey's military file?" She was somewhat concern with as well reading the clause.

"I just don't know what to make of it Tish. I just don't like surprises for when it comes to every cruise the Seaview is on. Has a copy of his file been sent over to Admiral Nelson?"

"Yes, it has Sharkey. So far I haven't heard a peep out of the Admiral. He's always the first one to always complain for when it comes to his personal. If you will excuse me, I need to finish up before going on home with Shane taking over for me."

Smiling a bit..."Shane is a woman that knows her work for when it comes to communications and languages. She has proved to be a great asset to Admiral Nelson and the Communications Center." Sharkey replied with pride in regard to the woman that he's liked for awhile now after four dates while in between her watches."

Tish leaves smiling the alcove and Chief Sharkey getting back to his work...
