Chapter 1: The Day of the Storm
It has once been the year 1897, and two weeks since the unexpected events of the Queen's Jubilee in London. The news of the event have spread across all over the United Kingdom, and its many towns and cities. Olivia Flaversham was a five year old sweet, innocent, and very brave little girl, and because of this, she cared for everyone, including her father, Hiram Flaversham, who was a remarkable toy maker. Olivia's mother died when she was born, and Hiram raised her all by himself. He and his daughter have just took a train to Kansas, which was one of the states in the United States, and moved into their new home, which was the farm of Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
One day, Mickey, Hiram, Rabbit, & Professor Von Drake, were working in medium sized red barn, talking to each other, and laughing. They were wearing farm clothes. As for Olivia, she was calmly sitting at a small wooden bench, looking at a dark cloudy sky. She was wearing a white and blue checkered dress, with short white sleeves, a red hair bow around her left ear, both white panties and socks, and Black Mary Jane shoes. Simba, a young light golden lion cub who came from the Pride-lands in Africa, with a very brave mind, and good-hearted nature, walked up, and climbed onto the bench Olivia was sitting on, and sat down beside her.
'The clouds are getting darker every minute, huh?' He said, looking at Olivia, with a smile.
'You're right Simba,' Said Olivia, looking at Simba, with a very deep sigh. 'I don't know if there's gonna be a huge storm or not, but I hope it doesn't to the farm, it will be really bad if it does happen.'
'Let's just hope for the best,' Said Simba, looking around. 'What do you think, about being somewhere over the rainbow, way up high?'
'It is so dreamy,' Said Olivia, getting off the bench, and standing up with a smiling giggle. 'Sometimes, when I'm alone, I close my eyes, and imagine, that I'm at a place, that is so far away, behind the moon, and beyond the rain.'
'Dreams can come true in time,' Said Jiminy Cricket, who was walking up to Olivia, and Simba, who both turned around to give him their attention. 'When the time is right, they will guide you to your heart's desire, if you look inside yourself, and believe in yourself hard enough.'
'You said it right Jiminy,' Said Simba, jumping off the bench, and still looking at Olivia, who turned back to him, with Jiminy by her side. 'It's like we are all living a dream, isn't it? For me, sometimes, I have bad nightmares in my sleep, that hit me right in my soul. And my golden fur shakes, while standing on end, at the sound of the rumbling of thunder, or strikes of lightning.'
All of the sudden, there was a rumble of thunder throughout the clouds, which have turned completely into dark grey storm clouds, and the wind started to increase in speed and force. Because of this, everyone in the farm stopped what they were doing, and looked around. Minnie walked out the front door, of a small unit house, with Daisy Duck, and Winnie the Pooh following her.
'Did you all just hear that?' Asked Minnie, bringing everyone's attention to her, as leaves started to get picked up by the wind. 'That sounds really scary.'
'It looks like there's a storm coming,' Said Daisy, while Pooh waked all the way to the farm's front fence, and pointed to the clouds.
'There is something definitely happening with the clouds,' He confirmed, while Professor Von Drake walked over, with a telescope in his hand, with Mickey walking beside him.
'Let me see my friend,' He said, bringing the telescope to his right eye, and looking into it. He saw the clouds spinning around in a counter-clockwise direction, and then, a funnel started to form, while it was becoming the size of the barn. Mickey recognised what it was.
'Oh no!' He shouted, pointing at the funnel, which has touched the ground, and started moving towards the farm. 'Look at that, folks! It a twister, and it's heading straight for us!'
'Come on everyone!' Said Hiram, pointing to a storm cellar, that has been built, in case of emergency. 'Let's all get into the storm cellar!'
Everyone immediately managed to get inside the storm cellar, except Olivia. She tried her best to get inside the storm cellar, but the wind was too strong for her. Then, all of the sudden, lightning struck the ground, and the force of the shockwave made Olivia jump with a very short high-pitched scream, and get pushed by the force of the wind, straight inside the farmhouse, and bumped her head on the wall so hard, that she fell onto the floor of a living room, and got knocked out cold.
'Oh my head,' She said, waking up after a few minutes, and rubbing her head. She looked around, and then gasped. 'What is happening?! The house is not still! It's ... its moving!'
The strange thing that was happening confirmed Olivia's suspicions. The house had indeed appeared to be moving, with some pieces of furniture swaying from the left side, to the right side of the living room, and the curtains of a big window were swaying up and down, like flags on poles. Olivia felt like she was on a hot-air balloon, and when she managed to walk her way to the big window, and look out of it, she had a big surprise! The house was not only moving, but it was inside the twister, spinning around two or three times, being slowly lifted up, while a collection of scattered debris were spinning around the house.
Then, as lightning struck the twister, the house shook, making Olivia lose her footing, and land on her back, safely on a big couch, while the house stated to fall back down!
'Oh no!' She shouted, holding onto the couch for dear life. 'It seems like the house is falling down! I hope it lands soon!'
She held onto the couch with her eyes closed tight, as the house kept falling and falling, and then, the storm had stopped! The house landed with such a loud bang, that Olivia felt herself get lifted up, and fell back onto the couch, while some plates, glass, and wood shattered into pieces!
'Oh!' She said, after the house stood still. 'The house stopped moving.'
She opened her eyes, got off the couch, and stood on her feet. She checked her dress, and her arms and legs, but she was completely unharmed. So, she walked over slowly to the door, while a shining light passed through some cracks on the wood.
'The storm had stopped,' She said, placing her hand on the doorknob. 'But, I wonder where I landed.'
She took a deep breath, slowly opened the door, walked outside of the house, and then gasped in amazement.
