Regina couldn't believe she's back in Enchanted Forest and the first thing she wants to do is to officially ground Willie Grace and Bertha for life. She is sure she is in Sherwood Forest and notices a lot of other tents for his merry men. She wonders how Robin Hood is alive in this Enchanted Forest and which alternative timeline. Regina wasn't sure what to do so she started to look for something to cook for breakfast, since she doesn't have any memories of Regina in this alternative timeline. Regina wanted to run to look for Emma, but she was not sure of Emma's memories, so she decided to wait until Robin wakes up.
An another hour later, Robin walked out of the tent worried for Regina since she got up early walking over as he kissed, but Regina didn't since it was awkward for her, "You up, already, m'lady?"
Regina looked down at his King Richard Lionheart tattoo and smiles at the memory of that day she saw at the Traven, "I couldn't sleep." Regina wanted to ask thousands of questions, but decided to wait until she could find a way to bring up conversation.
Robin seems to understand, "I'm going to wake up our merry men and we will be on our way back to the White Kingdom."
Regina stopped him asking, "the White Kingdom?"
Robin doesn't know why Regina is asking that question, "I am the Lord of Sword of the White Kingdom and you know this, Regina. Are you ok?"
Regina making sure she understands, but Robin dressed like what he always dress like, "So you're knight of the White Kingdom?"
"It must be some sleep, m'lady, are you alright?" Robin assumed Regina might slept wrong trying to comfort her on the side of her arm.
Regina shakes herself out of it, "Yes, Robin," Regina is anxious to go to White Kingdom to see if Emma remembers or not, "We should be going for we don't want to be late."
Robin agreed, "I'll go get our men ready and packed to go. We should be arriving in few hours."
Regina kept herself busy packing things wondering why she is not queen in this alternative timeline. Everyone packed on the horses while Regina changed her dress in royal red tunic dress that is similar to that dress from Arthur's.
Regina, Robin and his merry men arrived at the White Kingdom, but it looked like it was recently built but similar to Evil Snow's alternative timeline. White and grey stoned constructed around the castle with walls around it as well as so many floors. The breeze of cold air surrounded the castle as Regina walked in across the bridge while Robin held both of their horses. Regina didn't notice her hand that has small silver ring with no diamond until now in complete shock whispering to herself that she is married to Robin of Locksley.
Robin kept studying her how strange she has been acting differently until this morning, but he kept herself silent until he can find out what is wrong. Snow and David walked towards Robin, "Robin, you have returned."
They both did their secret medieval handshake while Regina did her curtsy before them. David bowed before Regina in curtsey while spoke to Robin, "I hope you return with information from King Phillip about recent attacks in our Kingdom."
Snow redirected to Regina, "Princess Emma is anxious to meet you," Snow slightly moved for her to walk with her, "I'll show you the waiting room she is in."
Regina was thankful that Emma requested to see her while eyed Robin in nodded in respect.
"I hope the travel was not bad as before, Lady Regina," Snow started the conversation.
Regina honesty does not know what happened before, but she replied, "Our journey went well," but wasn't sure how to address Snow, but decided not to, "It went smoothly."
Snow was glad to hear that, "Wonderful," Snow and Regina kept walking together until Snow turned twice around the corner to the waiting room, but Regina looked around, so she thought this is the reading room as well. Regina saw a little girl with blonde wavy hair in ivory white grown as her head turns around, "Gina! You're back!" Emma ran and jumped on her while smiling and hugging her, so Regina hugged back bewildered. Regina tries to think and trace back how she is little girl, and then became confused when and how that happened.
Snow's heart warmed by that sight, "She is taken by you and would not stop talking about you. She is anxious to start her lessons."
Regina turns to Snow puzzled by what she meat lessons while putting Emma down, "Lessons?"
"Magic lessons, of course," Snow replied but Regina was dumbstruck trying to compose herself, "Remind me again, Snow, what happened with Rumple?"
Snow was puzzled by the question and thought that was bizarre to ask, "Rumple has disappeared from Enchanted Forest, somehow Zelena send him away."
Regina thought great because now she needs to find another way to go back to her time, "Where can I find Zelena?"
Snow softly touched Regina's shoulder beginning to worry about her, "Are you alright, Lady Regina?"
Regina nodded, but she is exhausted from so many changes, "I am fine, but I do need to talk to Zelena."
Snow quietly replied, "She's in prison in my father's castle. No one is allowed to see her because you made sure of it since she tried to kill us."
Regina growls to herself but remains calm, "I would never," she stopped herself before she kept going because Snow looked concern, "I apologize, dear Snow." Regina wishes she has her memories of this Enchanted Forest, but realize what happened to this Regina if she came to this timeline. It cannot be good, she thought.
Snow brushes it off, "I'll show you and Emma the study room." Regina sighs as Emma held her hand, so she looked down, but she felt sad because they both are not in same age for she couldn't ask for help. Regina followed Snow to the second floor to the study room, but everything looked different but similar structure as the other timeline of the White Kingdom. They entered the study room that looked like a small cozy room with fireplace and two desk. There is not any potions, but rocks and different object that Regina thought that magic can practice with those items. It has ink on each of the desk with papers as well as a large desk in the middle with two high chairs, Regina assumed that it's where they both often sit instead of desk.
Snow softly scowl at Emma, "Be good for Lady Regina and listen to every word she says, ok Emma?"
Emma sat on the high chair nodding but excited to be with Regina, "Yes, momma."
After Snow left closing the door behind her determined to talk to Robin about Regina as she walked back downstairs to the round table. Regina was finally alone with Emma, so she asked, "How old are you, Emma?"
"I'm eight years old and my birthday is coming up soon," Emma replied.
Regina nodded as she remembered that it's Emma's birthday as she curses herself. Everything has been so busy and she completely forgot it's her birthday soon. Regina was glad that Emma was easy to talk to without being suspicious, "What lesson have we started on?"
"The rocks," Emma pointed at the rocks on the shelves by the wall on the other end, "I was trying to practice moving the rocks and the fire."
Regina knew it will not work until her white knight syndrome instinct to protect and that is her trigger to start knowing it will help her to control that trigger. Regina looked around hoping to see an animal of some kind, but Emma stopped her, "Why are you acting differently?"
Regina's eyes became crossed refocusing on her how different both of Regina, "What do you mean, Emma?"
Emma carefully thought because Regina was affectionate and attentive, but today she seems more closed off, but decided not to answer instead she asked, "Did something happen today?"
"I just didn't sleep well, but I was looking for an animal," Regina still hoping an animal will somehow show up.
Emma pointed at the glass window that can open on one side, "There is usually bird out there because mom loves birds."
Regina smiles remembered Snow's love for animals, so she walked over the window and opened it. She waited for few minutes as she hums hoping one bird will come. The white dove flew in as Regina luckily quickly caught it as Emma got down wondering what her plan. Regina walked over a small wood that she remembered she used it with Rumple teaching her how to move the rock under the triangle wood.
"You are going to stop me by saving this bird," Regina smiles as she put a bird under the wood cage.
Emma fought her to let the bird go starting to freak out fighting to remove Regina's hand, but it won't budge, "Let him go!"
Regina nodded still with her hands on the top of the wood, "The bird will stop breathing in minutes if you don't focus your magic."
Emma doesn't understand why she is acting that way and how cruel she can be when she started crying, "He'll die!"
Regina shakes her hand, "Not necessary unless you can save the bird."
Emma became determined to save the bird from Regina, whoever that person is because Regina would never do it. It is the first time Emma as seen the other side of Regina as she refocused on the triangle wood with her hands trying to feel the magic but nothing is happening. Emma became frustrated as her eyes are red from crying, but she tries again as she closed her eyes to calm herself. Her fingers started white flickering with magic as the wood swirl white smoke, and then the bird reappeared in her hands. Regina smiled proudly, "You did it!"
Emma sighed a huge relief and then glared at Regina extremely upset, "Never do that again!" Emma walked over to the window to let the white dove go and he flew away.
Regina frowned, "I apologize for I know it is unorthodox, but you did magic."
Emma walked over to the shelves with few rocks and slammed the table, "Rocks!"
Regina calms herself trying to explain, "You needed a trigger to learn how to control your magic."
Emma sat back down on the chair not understanding what she meant by the trigger. Regina continued, "It was your urge to protect, so you need to know in order how; for example back then before Robin, it was my anger that trigger my magic. For you, it's your love for the people that they needed protection."
Emma was startled how easily Regina talked about her past because she never talks about it with her before, "You're different."
Regina composed herself how Emma notices without difficulty, "I'm not going to hurt you, Emma. I promise."
Emma shakes herself out it feeling uneasy all of the sudden like it is strangely familiar about Regina, "I know you won't."
Regina kept her distance not wanting to scare the girl decided to test Emma's limit because for seven years old, her magic is already quite powerful so she knows her magic wouldn't allow her to harm herself, "Emma, do you trust me?"
"Yes, Lady Gina," Emma politely replied.
Regina wasn't sure, "Do you know how to keep a secret?"
"I won't tell a soul, I promise." Emma crossed her heart.
Regina wanted to double-check, "That includes your parents and every single person on earth."
Emma agreed, "I promise not to tell momma and daddy."
Regina got out of the chair grabbing the little girl while opening the window at the edge and then Emma became terrified for her life fighting hard not to cry for the second time grabbing Regina's hand hard, "What are you doing?!"
Regina tries to calm Emma, "I am not letting you go, I promise. You said you trust me. All you need to let me go and think of me."
Emma looked down how far the ground is as she started to feel dizzy and might throw up, "Why are you doing this?"
Regina replied honesty, "I'm helping you to learn magic and you haven't embraced your powers. Do not be afraid of your magic, Emma."
Emma looked outside again, but Regina stopped her while still waiting for Emma to let her go, "Don't look down, Emma. Just focus on me. You can do this."
Emma refocused on Regina as she let her go and fell flying down while Regina cringes whispering to herself teleport over and over. Thoughts rush through her mind as she watches Emma falling down screaming for her and then as soon she was close to the ground, Emma poofed in white smoke. Emma hit hard on the ground as she groaned to herself rubbing her neck. Regina sighed a huge relief, but beamed from ear to ear, "I knew you could do it."
Emma doesn't know how to explain how she is feeling when she teleported and then looked up to Regina angrily, but she was glad that she learned magic. She has conflict feelings, so she doesn't say anything. Regina has read her mind, "I know you're angry at me, Emma. I was just trying to help you."
Emma asked again, "Who are you?"
Regina replied in confidence, "I am Regina Mills, who else do you think I am?"
Emma doesn't see any lying on her face and her tone wondering, "Something is different with you."
Snow abruptly open looking upset looking between Regina and Emma, "Emma, are you ok? I heard your yelling."
Emma got up nodding straightening her dress, "I am alright, momma."
Regina tried to change the subject, "She successfully learned magic, so I believe from now on she can easily control it but needs more practice."
Snow smiles and then redirected to Emma, "Your governor is here, so you can go to your room to change into the dress you want to wear and then go downstairs to meet her."
For the first time, Emma was glad to leave this room as she ran out of the room, but stopped and then started to walk like princess. Regina bowed before Snow, "I'm going to attend my husband for I have been away from him with this lesson for too long. Do you know where to find him?"
Snow titled on the side for her to walk pass her, "Robin is with my David in the Great Hall studying the attacks near our kingdom."
Snow walked with Regina to the Grand Hall on the first floor by the entrance of the castle. Robin stopped talking the moment Regina entered smiling with love in his eyes, "M'lady."
"Was David any help?" Regina asked wondering about the attacks. There is a long table with two high chairs at the end of the wood table. Robin thought carefully while looking at David for permission to speak, but David agreed as he nodded back. "I didn't want to cause alarm, but Zelena broke free. I have to go along with my men to find out what happened. You will be safe here, M'lady."
Regina actually not scared of her, but worried for Zelena hoping she is ok, "I would like to go with you, Robin."
Robin disagreed because he knows she will be harmed since she doesn't have her full magic powers, "In this case, I prefer you stay with King and Queen for they can provide guards to protect you. I cannot bear to see you injured for this will be dangerous journey."
Regina knows it is no point arguing with Robin because she doesn't want to, "Zelena is gathering mercenaries and attacking?"
David replied this time, "This is what we are led to believe and the reason he went to visit King Phillip to acquire evidence of the attacks."
Snow noticed the change in Regina that is similar to before she met Robin, but she remained quiet while she announced the late meal will be ready soon and will take her to the room where she is lodging at. The servants already bought in her things in her room, so she explored her room quietly. She thought it was strange to be with Charmings and being protected by them. The room is large and fit for a Queen, but hated the bright colors of the bedspread. It is plain dark ivory thick blanket with four wood at the corner of the mattress high as a ceiling. It has fireplace at the other end of the wall and a small desk by the bed, but huge window right above the desk. She saw a large brown wood closet on the opposite end of the bed, so she walked over hoping there will be gowns in it, but secretly hates that kind of dress. If she had her magic, she would magically change the dress she likes and not those kinds. She skimmed through the dresses until one caught her eye, a dark red gown that doesn't hide her coverage. She changed and heard noises from outside, so she walked over and saw Emma with her governor. Regina has never seen her before, but she has a similar hairstyle as Emma's, but shorter like sweet old Granny.
Regina became sad when she watches Emma and how young she is. She wishes she is older, but nothing she can do about this. Regina assumed that the governor and Emma are chatting about different topics of languages, politics, English and so on. Emma dressed in white pants with a dress over it for easy exploring and walking outside. Emma felt someone is watching so she turns around and looked up staring deep in Regina's eyes realizes how sad those eyes are. Regina moved away from the window composing herself walking out of the room. She rolled her eyes when she saw the guards following her, but she kept walking looking for Snow and David with Robin. She went back downstairs to the Grand Hall and was glad to see Robin sitting alone reading.
Robin looked up in awe how tight that dark red gown, "You look beautiful as always."
Regina smiles, "Thank you, Robin. What are you reading?"
"I wanted to know if there is a way to block magic, so I'm reading gems and different totems for several of reasons." Robin showed her the book.
Regina grabbed the book from her hands as she read, she knows this book and has it in her office, "There is one, but it is not in this Enchanted Forest."
Robin was surprised at the answer, "Where do I find it?"
"There is only one person in entire Enchanted Forest," besides herself, she thought if she had her powers, "the Dark One, himself. It is probably in his castle hidden somewhere."
Robin was disappointed, "We destroyed everything for we are afraid of dangerous magic items."
Regina nodded in understanding, and then Robin asked, "How do you know this?"
Regina cringes thought that this Regina really doesn't know anything, "I knew the Dark One briefly before I met you."
The guards entered with Snow announcing that the food is ready in the afternoon, so Robin and Regina followed her to the dining hall few blocks over, but Regina was impressed how small the table is like it is a formal family dining room. Regina sat next to Robin across from Emma and her Governor with Snow and David on the opposite ends. They ate salad and some vegetables and fish, which fish is not her preference, but she ate the whole meal clean. Regina ignored Emma purposely while chatting with Snow and David, but only talked when asked. Emma still doesn't understand and became determined to find out who Regina is and why she looked familiar all of a sudden while looking back at the lesson a few hours ago how intense that was. Regina tilted briefly when Snow asked Emma why she's not eating, so she asked after Snow, "Is the food alright, Emma?"
Emma smiles finally that Regina is looking straight at her, "I don't like to eat with bone."
Snow replied, "That's why you cut them, remember I taught you."
Emma looked back down and then both of them, "Actually, I am not hungry, mother. May I be excused?"
Snow became concerned, but nodded, "Of course dear."
The governor went with Emma while looking at Regina, but Regina cleared her throat and kept her focus. She didn't mean to make Emma feel uneasy around her. They all chatted briefly until Robin informed that it is time for him to leave to start his travels since he doesn't want to wait too long.
David provided guards to go with Robin and Regina stood outside to see him go while Snow walked back inside. Regina thought it was a beautiful evening, so she curiously decided to walk the grounds until she saw apple trees far off, so she grabbed two fresh apples for Emma in case if she's hungry tonight. An hour later without realizing how long she was out in fresh breeze windy evening as she saw a carriage of the governor who they didn't
properly introduce yet. She knows that the Charmings would normally get into bed early, but wasn't sure because of Emma since she always sleeps late. She doesn't know if her Emma and this Emma is the same.
She walked back into the castle as the stoned wall has a cold quiet interior that there isn't one sound echoing through the halls. She felt it is too quiet for her taste since she gotten used to the large family that has sounds almost most of the day. She looked for Emma on the second floor, but haven't seen her. She has thought Emma might be in the study room, so she went over another corner down the hall and saw the door was already opened. She wonders why she hasn't learned magic until now, why did Snow wait that long for her to be taught. Snow always tries to keep magic from her as long as possible. She thought this Snow and her Snow is pretty much the same. Regina smiles to herself standing afar watching Emma determinedly practicing magic with rocks. After few failed attempts, Emma became disappointed while looking out of the window briefly, and then refocused the rock before her as she closes her eyes. Regina smiles proudly when Emma magically conjured a rock in white smoke and after awhile Emma was able to conjure anything as she practices with different items. Regina decided to leave to give Emma privacy, so she looked for Snow. Emma looked through the door, but didn't see anybody because the first person Emma wanted to tell is Regina and to thank her for pushing her hard. She didn't think Regina's methods would work, but wonders how she knew.
Regina found Snow outside in the garden, so they chatted shortly about politics and Regina kept the conversation simple as much as possible until dinner. They all ate dinner quietly until Emma beams at Regina, "Gina! Watch this!"
Regina stopped kept her focus all the attention on Emma while she conjured a cherry pie dessert from the kitchen so easily. Regina was honesty proud of her sincerely smiling for her love of food, "I knew you could it."
Snow was impressed with Emma, "But no dessert until after dinner."
Regina laughs while eating missing her Emma back home. It seems strange to Regina how there so much big age gap and weird because she is so young. She wishes she could give Emma aging potion, but she doesn't trust that kind of potion. Regina became deep in thought that she didn't hear Emma talking until they all finished eating. Snow and David wanted to retire for the night while bring Emma with them to make sure she is put to bed. The servants came to the dining room to clean up and Regina wanted to help, but the ladies told Regina she doesn't have to since it is bizarre and no one ever has done that before. Regina needed something to keep her busy realizing she is really thankful for Storybrooke. The servants showed her the kitchen on the very first floor outside on the other side of the castle where all the servants cook, clean, sleep and eat since they could not tell Regina no. Regina requested them to draw her a bath because it is getting late and she's sweating from working in hot kitchen, so she followed them to the steaming bathing room. All the servants brought up hot water to make it quicker since Regina helped them in the kitchen. Regina waited until the servants finish filling up the silver tub in the middle room until she told them that she wants no one to bother her. Regina was glad to be alone but finds it strange again to be alone in the tub because Emma would be walking in or the kids would. Regina shakes herself out it trying to relax, but she couldn't, so she gave up. She was in a hurry giving herself a bath as she dried herself. She grabbed the grown and forgot that she's not supposed to do that, so she curses herself. Regina is out of practice, but she ran to her room, and then was thankful that no one saw her.
She searches through the closet to find riding pants and found one that was folded in the bottom of the closet, a blank pants, high boots, and a white shirt. She needed to find Zelena and a horse since she is the best rider. She braided her hair and waited few minutes until everyone is officially asleep, but remembered she needed horse, so she went ahead to the back of the castle and saw a man, but doesn't know who he is. Regina didn't realize that Emma was following her until she reached the barn. Regina asked the man to bring her the fastest horse and promises to keep it secret while not telling the king and queen. The man bowed in respect doing what Regina wishes while giving her a lamp for her to see better during her ride.
Regina turned around quietly spoke, "Emma, if that is you, you better not be following me or you'll be in world of trouble."
Emma walked closer in princess tone trying to find out who she is and where she's planning to go, "I can follow you anywhere I want."
Regina forced to calm herself, "I need to do this alone, so go back to your bedroom."
Emma challenges her, "I can teleport to you or somewhere lost. So you either let me go with you or I'll go on my own."
"You wouldn't," Regina doesn't completely believe she would, but she doesn't want her to be danger trying to teleport because she knows she haven't fully practiced that part yet.
Emma crossed her arm not backing down, so Regina growls at herself realizing Emma is no different from her Emma. Regina closes her eyes while the man brought her a large black thoroughbred saddled, which happens to be the fastest horse alive, so she smiles. Regina thanked him grabbing the horse and then faced Emma, "Do not get in my way and no matter what, and you stay behind me. Is that understood?"
Regina got on the horse and reach out her arm to pick up Emma behind her, "Hold me tight."
The horse is highly competitive, energetic and full of fire that goes seventy miles per hour that Emma has to hold Regina tighter than normal as the air would knock her off. The black horse's slim and tall conformation makes them quick, agile and powerful, but it is a beautiful horse though. Regina rode the horse fast to her castle with lamp on one hand for guidance knowing that Zelena is hiding there pretending that she has disappeared.
Regina arrived at her castle in record speed within minutes as Emma felt dizzy wishing she stayed back home, but she determined to stay in case if Regina needed protection. Regina walked into her castle to the top floor where she usually goes followed by Emma, and then she called out for Zelena repeating.
Regina walked down the hall to the prison cell and saw Zelena still locked in and not green at all, "You're still in there?"
Zelena nodded who seems to be crazy but calm, "Where else I'll be?"
Regina explained, "Everyone seems to think you broke out, but now I see it might be a carbon copy of you."
"What are you doing here since you helped the idiots to put me here?" Zelena sneered at her.
Emma stayed behind Regina refusing to leave her side, "What if I help you get out of here?"
Emma abruptly turned, but Regina stopped her before Emma opened her mouth. Zelena stood up and smiles, "What do you ask for return?"
Regina turns around eyeing Emma with a frown and then refocused herself to Zelena, "I need your help to go back to my land. I need the magical bean or something similar to that."
Zelena happily agreed to shake the prison, but Regina continued, "However, you leave Emma and Charmings alone if I let you go because if you do then Charmings will leave you alone."
"Agreed, Regina and now let me out of here!" Zelena is dying to get out of this many years of stuck in prison cells.
Regina explained while finding the key to the lock, "By the way, someone is pretending to be you and gathering militias, so I would suggest you find out who and put stop to it before they place blame on you."
Zelena doesn't know why Regina is kindly helping her, "Why are you helping me?"
Regina found the key at the end of the hall hanged, "In my land, we are best friends and sisters. You were happily married and have a couple of daughters, so you can find happiness here as well if you let all of that envy and anger go."
Zelena took that to the heart, "I was happy?"
Regina unlocked the cell and hugged her tightly, "You are an amazing person who people take you in the wrong way."
Zelena breaths in while awkwardly hugged back unsure what to do as her heartfelt heavy how Regina took her side but doesn't know this Regina can do the same thing.
Emma watches in awe and then asked, "How are you here then?"
Zelena frown at Emma, "What is this brat doing here?"
Regina shrugged, "She followed me and wouldn't leave my side."
Emma shouted, "Hey!"
Zelena doesn't care as she rolled her eyes, "Go away and find something to keep yourself busy."
Emma glared at her, but Regina laughs as she tilted to Emma, "It's alright, Emma. Go ahead because this is a private adult conversation."
Zelena shoo her, so Emma finally left to give the sisters privacy.
"So how are you here?" Zelena asking the same question as Emma's.
"My daughters accidentally created an illusion, but I don't know what kind of illusion they made," Regina replied.
Zelena wonders who, "Robin?"
"Absolutely not, but it is not important who, Zelena. Are you able to find the magical bean or something to bring me back to my land?" Regina making sure before she goes back to the castle.
Zelena nodded, "First thing first, I need to find out who is causing trouble."
Regina understands, "Can you take us to the castle with the horseback into the barn?"
Regina called Emma back in, and then Zelena waved green smoke around them teleported both of them to Regina's bedroom and the horse in the barn like they never left.
"Go to bed, Emma," Regina opened her door.
Emma decided to be straight asking, "Who?"
Regina was displeased with Emma, "You were eavesdropping which isn't appropriate, Emma."
Emma shrugged not caring standing at the doorway, "You looked beautiful in that gown today."
Regina warmly smiles, "Thank you, Emma," then remembered the apples that she left in the closet, so she quickly grabbed it and handed it to Emma, "I thought you might hungry tonight since you like to eat before you go bed."
Emma became confused how well she knows her but thanked her anyway, but decided to test her limits, "If you say this is an illusion and that would mean none of us real, so what's the harm telling me?"
Regina laughs rolling her eyes, "Go to your room, Emma for the last time."
Emma grumbled walking off.
