"Magic Duel"

Chapter 2

In Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle and Spike were over at Fluttershy's cottage. Some of Fluttershy's animal friends are there, and Fluttershy tried to speak to them in assurance.

"Don't be scared, little friends. Twilight is wonderful with magic.", Fluttershy assured before turning to Twilight.

"Anything happens to them, Twilight, so help me...", Fluttershy threatened before Spike tried to calm the yellow pegasus down.

"Aww, don't worry, Fluttershy, Twilight's magic has gotten a lot better since she accidentally crushed me and Applejack with a giant snowball.", Spike assured.

"Of course she's good with magic. Twilight's great with magic. I guess I just don't want my little friends to be scared. Oh, oh, look how scared they are!", Fluttershy responded, frantic about the safety of her animal friends, which did not seem worried at all, matter of fact, the animals appear to be more excited about helping Twilight with her trick.

"I promise, Fluttershy. Nothing bad will happen to them.", Twilight assured.

"I know!", Flutershy responded in a high-pitched voice before Twilight used her magic to lift the animals as they glowed with it and flew in the air as Fluttershy nervously started biting her hooves.

"Stop, stop! They can't take it!", Fluttershy panicked, still worried.

The animals, however, happily flew around in the air in the shape of an infinity symbol, and safely landed on the ground while Fluttershy's teeth chattered.

"Twilight, that looks amazing!", Spike complimented.

"Phew!", Twilight exhaled relievedly.

"That's all for now, little ones. Maybe we can practice again later, if Fluttershy says it's alright.", Twilight spoke as the animals chittered.

"Your magic has really improved since we came to Ponyville, Twilight. Princess Celestia's going to love it.", Spike assured.

"Thanks, Spike. I have to be at my best when she arrives with the delegates from Saddle Arabia. I can't believe she's trusting me with the entertainment.", Twilight responded.

Suddenly, a frantic Rainbow Dash zoomed in and crashed into Twilight.

"Twilight! Come quick! It's an emergency!", Rainbow Dash urged.

When Twilight raced into town, she spotted the hooded mare zapping Rarity, spawning a brown dress.

"You beast! This shade of brown should only be used for accents!", Rarity shouted before fainting as Applejack caught her on her back and walked away with Pinkie Pie.

"Come on, Applejack. We've got to get her in a nice, soothing pink, stat!", Pinkie Pie urged.

Twilight and Spike entered the scene to confront the mystery made.

"What's going on here?", Twilight asked.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't... Twilight Sparkle.", Trixie smirked evilly as she removed her hood and revealed herself with the Alicorn Amulet displayed around her neck, causing all the ponies, even Twilight, to gasp.

"Trixie!", Twilight spoke.

"What's she doing here?", Spike asked.

"You call that great and powerful?", Rainbow Dash mocked before Trixie retaliated by casting a spell on Dash, causing one of her wings to enlarge and making her lose balance.

"Oh! She's Rainbow Wobble, now!", Snips commented.

"Yeah! Ha ha ha ha!", Snails laughed in agreement.

"Good spell, oh Great and Powerful Trixie!", Snails complimented, still loyal to Trixie.

However, Trixie wasn't moved.

"You two! Quiet!", Trixie shouted as she fused the two colts by the tips of their horns.

"Uh, hey! W— What happened?", Snips exclaimed in surprise.

"Get off of me!", Snails exclaimed before trying to shake him off, but to no avail.

"Let go!", Snips urged.

"Go this way!", Snails replied.

"Stop picking on my friends, Trixie!", Twilight demanded.

"You and I have some unfinished business. My magic's gotten better since I was here last. And I'm going to prove it! Me and you, a magic duel. Winner stays, loser leaves Ponyville forever!", Trixie proposed.

"Forget it! I'd never make a deal like that!", Twilight responded.

"Hm. Your choice.", Trixie responded before using her magic to turn Spike into a basketball and bouncing him.

"Trixie, put him down. Why are you doing this?", Twilight asked.

"Why? Because you humiliated me! After you showed me up with that Ursa Minor, I became a laughing stock! Everywhere I went I was laughed at and ostracized. I even had to take a job on a rock farm just to earn a living! A rock farm!", Trixie responded angrily as she conjured a screen showing her life following her humiliation as it showed her wagon having been vandalized, dirtied with thrown tomatoes and eggs and the picture of a crudely drawn Ursa Minor, complete with baby bottle, as well as an "X" across her cutie mark sign on the wagon.

In the next flashback, a group of ponies laughed at her as she tried to perform her "teleportation spell" to run away before another flashback showed Trixie working on Pinkie's family rock farm just to earn a living.

"Hey! You're lucky a rock farm would take the likes of you!", Pinkie Pie shouted before Trixie used a spell and removed Pinkie's muzzle with the old clock and drag technique, preventing her from talking any further.

"Now I want revenge! And I'll just keep casting spells 'til you agree. Well? What do you say?", Trixie goaded before Twilight looked back at the damage she caused.

"Whoooaah! Help... me!", Spike pleaded as meanwhile, the Golden Oak Library was uprooted with Twilight's owl, Owlowiscious desperately trying to grab Twilight's books, which were getting thrown out, leaving her with no other alternative.

"Alright, Trixie. Let's duel!", Twilight spoke.

"Excellent.", Trixie smirked before the damage was undone, all except for Pinkie Pie's mouthless problem.

"If I lose, I won't set hoof in Ponyville again. But if you lose, you're the one banished from this one-horse town!", Trixie stated making the ponies gasp in fear.

"Draw!", Trixie shouted before she made the first move and blasted a heavy cart loaded with two barrels of apples into the air.

The Ponies scrambled out of the way from where it's going to crash, but Shoeshine tripped and was in danger of being crushed until Twilight took control of the cart in time and set it and its contents right again.

"Phew.", Twilight sighed just before gasping upon Trixie hurling six large pies at her.

Thinking quickly, Twilight conjures a parasprite, which immediately gobbled up the incoming pies. The creature then burped up another parasprite, but Twilight removed both of them before they can reproduce again and had barely recovered from the magical exertion when Trixie dropped a large sheet of snow on Twilight and the vicinity only for Twilight to easily meltthe snow and shoot a beam of magic at her opponent, causing a long mustache to grow on her face, making Twilight's friends laugh until Trixie haughtily snipped her facial hair off with conjured scissors.

"Snips, Snails, step forward!", Trixie summoned before Snips and Snails fearfully bowed to her.

"Wh— what is it, oh Great and P— P— Powerful Trixie?", Snips laughed nervously before Trixie suddenly zapped them with a helical ribbon of red magic that lifted them into the air.

When they fall back to earth, Snips had become a wailing foal and Snails has become a withered elderly pony, shocking Twilight a great deal.

"An age spell? But... how could you do an age spell? That's only for the highest level unicorns!", Twilight exclaimed in shock.

"Well, Twilight? Give up?", Trixie mocked before Twilight sighed and then determinedly tried to reverse the age spell.

But the power required was beyond her capabilities as it had no effect at all.

"Come on, Twilight, you can do it!", Spike encouraged.

Trixie promptly

Distraught, humiliated with, and angry at her failure, Twilight then swore revenge, not knowing that a couple of koopas by the name of Kammy and Kamek were nearby.

"Trixie is the highest level unicorn! And now it's time for you to leave Ponyville! FOREVER!", Trixie laughed as her irises glowed red, causing Twilight to hang her head down in shame before her friends turned up.

"That's enough, Trixie!", Applejack shouted.

"You proved your point, but you can't possibly expect Twilight to leave Ponyville!", Rarity added.

"You fools! She's already gone!", Trixie only smirked before promptly banishing her from town.

What's more, before Spike and her friends can even join her, Trixie conjured a large glass dome that sealed off Ponyville, disheartening Twilight even further.

"No... How could this happen? I can't accept this! I WON'T accept this!", Twilight sobbed a bit while growing angry before storming off, leaving poor Spike worried.

"Twilight?", Spike asked in worry before thunking his head on the dome.

Meanwhile, Twilight was wrought with sadness and fury, with the latter more dominant as her tears representing what little innocence she had left were draining out from her eyes.

"Mark my words, Trixie. Great and powerful or not, I'll never forgive you for what you've done to me... If it's the last thing I do, I will make you pay!", Twilight shouted while taking off, not knowing that Kamek and Kammy were watching from behind a couple of trees with the furious Twilight seemingly haven't noticed them.

"Hey. There's someone miserable that we can take under our wing.", Kammy spoke.

"Indeed. Mayhaps she can prove useful after all.", Kamek agreed before both Koopas nodded.

A/N: And there is a great difference. As you can see, Twilight was distraught at her failure to beat Trixie, became angry, and swore revenge. There is also the appearance of Kamek and Kammy Koopa from Paper Mario to consider. What could this mean? Well, only Misaki and myself know the answer, but I'd rather not spoil it for you. Either way, it will be quite interesting, at least. :)
