Summary of the story is located in Wattpad. But for a short summary, A boy and wolf grew up together and joined the Adventurers guild. Several other adventurers had acknowledged his skills and expercience and gave him several names. But the one that stood out the most was 'Wolf Tamer' The Frontier's Pack Leader.

2. Chapter 1

I'm back with another chapter, but before we begin. I like to ask you guys a question.

Morning Day, Third POV

Just next to the forest, there was a wooden cabin with a fence built around it and a vegetable garden next to a

Wolf Tamer is lying down on his asleep after the events from yesterday. Today was another day for the guild, but he was too lazy to wake up for himself.

However, someone else decided to wake him up. Alpha approached the sleeping form of Wolf Tamer and removed the blanket off of him. Causing him to groan in complete tiredness

"Alpha... Not now... give me a few more minutes," He said groaningly then to the left. Alpha barked once, jumped on his bed, and started to lick his face all over. Forcing Wolf Tamer to wake up completely,

"Alright! Alright! Just stop already!" Wolf Tamer shouted and jolt up from his bed and Alpha simply backed away and sat down followed by a single bark "Geez, your more annoying than any monster. You know,"

Alpha barked again and Wolf Tamer simply gave an annoyed look to the dire wolf. Soon, He groaned and goes off his bed, went to his wardrobe, and wore his daily attire.

Wolf Tamer's POV

After I had worn my clothes, I went out of my bedroom, prepared breakfast along with feeding Alpha, and lastly, picking up my bow and quiver then strapped it behind my back.

"Alright, boy. Let's go do some hunting," I said and Alpha barked happily as we went out of our cabin and headed to the forest.

I positioned myself under some bushes while Alpha is stalking at a nearby deer, we both found a few minutes ago, I readied my bow and arrow and gave the signal to my wolf by making a whistle call.

Alpha jumps out of the bushes and goes in for the kill. But the deer spotted him and tried to make a run for it. But it was already too late for the deer.

Once I got a clear shot of the deer. I fired an arrow at the deer and it went through the deer's body, causing it to fall on the ground while Alpha stopped chasing the deer and kept his eyes on it.

I approached the deer and saw that it was still breathing after being pierced in the body. I pulled out my hunting knife and crouched to the deer.

"Sorry, But I'll make it quick for you," I said as I stabbed the deer in the neck and a few seconds later. The deer died and pulled my knife out from the deer's neck. Then, I tied up the legs of the deer and carried it on my shoulder

"Come on, Alpha. We still got some hunting to do," I said and Alpha gave a single bark to him as we went back to our cabin to drop off the deer and continued our hunt in the forest.

A few minutes later, We've managed to get at least six deers and I started to get to work on removing the deer's hide. After I've removed the hide, I placed it on a basket and moved the body on a cart.

I only skinned five of the deers and left the last one untouched. I wiped off the sweat from my forehead and turned to Alpha

"Call the pack, please," I ordered.

Alpha then turned in the opposite direction and howled a short period of time. I waited for a moment and I saw a pack of six wolves coming towards me and sat down once they all got close.

I grabbed the untouched deer and threw it in front of the pack.

"Enjoy your meal!" I said and the wolves didn't hesitate to take the deer with them. Alpha joined in as well since he's their pack leader. So while I wait for them to finish their meal, I went towards my cart and started pulling it towards a nearby village

When I got to the village, I went to the nearest meat shop and knocked on the door

"Be right there!" A voice said on the other side of the door.

Once the door was opened, I was greeted with a man wearing a butcher attire and when he saw me. He smiled and said "Wolf Tamer!"

"Morning, Butcher," I greeted back, But he suddenly went towards me and wrapped me into a hug while saying "It's good to see you again!"

"Hey, Let go of me! You're getting blood on my shirt!" I yelled,

A while after, He lets go of me while I noticed a few blood stains on my clothing which made me groan with irritation, what's worse. It was already starting to smell on me "Geez, Do you always have to hug me while you wearing that?"

"Sorry, I just couldn't help myself," He apologized while scratching the back of his head

"But anyway, I brought you some deer this morning. I hope I'll help you in a way," I said while showing him the deers I caught

"Are you kidding? Every time you bring me something like this, I'm a happy man." He said with a big grin on his face and I couldn't help but chuckle to his response.

The Butcher and I go way back even before I became an adventurer. He handles the meat produces while I deal with the hunting the deer or anything that maybe bring profit to his shop. So far, he and I have been on a partnership as long as I could remember.

"So, How's the wolf going so far?" He asked,

"He's fine, But he always licks me in the face every morning," I said, and he laughed as loud as he could "Well that's good to know,"

"Yeah, but anyway. About my payment?" I said holding out my hand to him

"Oh right, I also forgot," He went back into his shop and started collecting the appropriate funds for selling the deer to him. When he came back, He gives a pouch filled with silver and copper coins and I accepted it while I handed off the deer to him

"Pleasure doing business with you," I said and he nodded,

"Come back anytime!" He said before entering his shop to continue his work.

Then I went to the nearest tailor shop and pretty much sold the deer hide to him while I bought myself a few extra clothes since the ones I wore were drenched with the smell of blood, courtesy of the Butcher.

After that, I returned home and saw Alpha standing by as he waited for my return.

"Thanks for waiting for me, buddy," He gave me a single bark and patted him on the head "Now that we're done, Let's go to guild and find ourselves a quest to finish.

Once I arrived at the guild, I noticed a lot of adventurers standing by at the desk. Waiting for Guild Girl to post several quests available for adventurers to take. I decided to head towards a table and I immediately sat down as I waited for the other adventurers to finish picking their quests.

Then I soon catch Goblin Slayer entering the guild accompanied by a red-haired girl wearing the attire of farmer and people started commenting about him since they call him a weirdo who's completely focused on goblin extermination quests. As usual, He ignores their comments and went to a table. But the nearest table for him is where I'm currently sitting

"Morning, Goblin Slayer," I greeted as he sat down

"Morning," He said and then I asked, "You taking on another goblin quest?"

"Yes," He replied, and I smirked as his response since he doesn't show any emotion to pretty much anyone. But when I got to know him, I figured out that he's a victim of a goblin attack and he was venting all his vengeance and anger against the goblins ever since he joined the guild

"Goblin Slayer," A voice called out and when he turned to the person. He saw Priestess standing in front of him and he stood from the chair while I simply watched the two.

I found it a bit funny since Priestess was arguing about a few things related to their last goblin slaying quests to him. However, Goblin Slayer simply gave her several reasons that always make a point about hunting or killing goblins.

A few moments later, The adventurers standing by the request board had lessened and Goblin Slayer stood up from the table

"You going out now?" I asked,

"Yes," He replied and I stood up from the table and patted his shoulder a few times "Then I wish you luck on your hunt"

"Thank you," He said and went to the quest board with Priestess tagging along with her, as soon as he picked a few goblin quests. He and Priestess go out on a few goblin quests while I sat back down on the table and stood idly for a while.

Until...

"Wolf Tamer?" A voice called out and I turned to the direction of the voice. But soon, I started to smile, when I saw Fighter and Wizard which made me stood up from my chair

"Fighter, Wizard, It's been a while since the last time I saw you both," I said cheeringly, then I asked, "So, How are you both doing so far?"

"We've been fine. I eventually got over my depression and Wizard has been healthy as ever," She said, then turned to Wizard and asked, "Isn't that right?"

"Yeah... I've been better..." Wizard said before turning away from me, which caught my curious to her.

"Hey, is there something wrong," I asked and Fighter glanced at her as well, then back to me and asked, "Don't you remember?"

"Remember what?" I asked back

"She's been like this ever since-" Before Fighter was about to say something to me, Wizard's body suddenly tensed up and tugged onto Fighter's robes and said "Hey! You promised not to tell him anything about that!"

This made Fighter remember and she scratched the back of her head and said "Oh, Sorry. I almost forgot about that,"

Wizard seemed to sighed with relief. But if you were to look closely to her face, You could see a hint of blushing cheeks on her face as she looked away from Wolf Tamer

"So anyway, What are you guys doing here?" I asked and Fighter answered, "I heard that a group of rookies went out on a goblin slaying quest at the river village, So I thought it'd be fine if..."

"You both go there and help them out?" I said and she nodded to her head, "But what does that have to do with me?" I asked

"Well, We thought that... We could use your help on this. So..." Fighter said and bowed her head to me "Please join our party!"

I'm somehow shocked by her urgent request along with Wizard as, she too, was shocked to her desperation. Some of the adventurers have heard her request as they glanced at her while some were commenting about it. I quickly stood up from the table and said "H-hey, You didn't have to be desperate towards me, All you had to do was ask,"

Fighter then raised her head while I put my finger on my chin in thought, as I make my decision. But since she desperate, I didn't have a choice either way

"Alright, I'll help you. But the next time you ask me for help, Just ask properly and I'll do what I can to help," I said and she smiled at me and said, "Thank you very much!"

"When do we leave?" I asked, and Wizard answered instead of Fighter "That's up to you, Wolf Tamer..."

"Then we leave once we're fully equipped with everything we need for this quest," I announced and the two nodded.

Timeskip (Brought to you by Wolf Tamer walking through town, followed by Alpha, Wizard, and, Fighter)

We were riding in a carriage that could take us to the river village. I was at the right side of the carriage with Alpha taking a nap beside me while Fighter and Wizard were sitting in the opposite direction of where I'm sitting. And while we waited to get to our destination, I decided to start a conversation with them "You know I'm curious,"

"About what?" Fighter asked,

"That you asked me to join your party instead of asking the other adventurers in the guild. So why would you go in all of that trouble just to ask me?" I said and Fighter simply turned her head from me while Wizard sighed and answered for her "Because no one else would help us since goblins are ranked the lowest monsters in the guild. Every adventurer practically avoids them since they view them as the weakest and less problematic monsters. No one would help us with this quest even if we asked for their help, But when we saw you. We thought that..."

"You ask me instead of asking the other adventurers, Am I right?" I finished and Wizard nodded,

Soon, The carriage stopped moving and the charioteer notified us that we've arrived at our destination.

As we got off the carriage, We went to the Village Chieftain and asked where the Adventurers sent to clear out a few goblins are. He told us that they ran off to the forest and they haven't returned for a while.

"Looks like we're doing a search and rescue for today's quest," I said, then I kneeled to Alpha and said "Find them and give us a signal when you found them,"

Alpha barked as his response and runs off to the forest to search for the rookies.

"Maybe we should follow him?" Fighter asked and I shook my head to her "No, if we were to go with him, you'll most likely get caught by those things and you'll most likely get killed or worse..."

Fighter's body twitched when I mentioned about the possibilities of being caught by Goblins. Then I sat down and said, "Just wait here until Alpha will signal us when he finds them,"

As we waited, I heard Wizard commenting about a small dagger I bought for her "What's the point of me wielding a dagger anyway? I'm more skilled with magic than some feeble weapon,"

"It's simple. You may be skilled with magic, but if you were to encounter a goblin or some monster in close quarters. Then you're dead either way and besides, the dagger is meant for self-defense. So try not to lose it,"

Wizard simply scoffed and puts the dagger into its scabbard,

"I have a question, Wolf Tamer," Fighter asked and I glanced at her, "What is it?"

"How did you train that dire wolf of yours?" When she asked that question, I simply looked at the direction where Alpha had run off to and answered "I didn't train him, I bonded with him,"

"Bonded with him?" Fighter said, confused about what I said to her. Then I explained, "Alpha and I met several years ago before I became an Adventurer. He was just a wolf pup at that time, As for his parents... They weren't so lucky, So I found him, took him to my home, and pretty much took care of him as the years went by. After that, He hasn't left my side ever since,"

"That's quite the story, Wolf Tamer," Fighter commented while Wizard simply glanced her eyes towards me without getting noticed. As for me, I scoffed and turned smiled "It is... And yet, I feel that there will be a time that we'll part our own ways in the future..."

Before Fighter could say anymore, We heard a wolf howl and I stood up from the ground "Looks like he found them, Let's go!"

I ran into the forest with Wizard and Fighter following behind me and headed towards Alpha's location, As we closed in on Alpha. We found all three adventurers and they're weren't in good condition either, I approached one of them and tried to give him a health potion but he grabs my wrist and said "No, Give it to him. He needs it more than I do"

He glanced at a man wearing a wizard attire and I saw a dagger stabbed right through his right leg. I pulled and inspected the dagger, Unfortunately for the rookie, The Dagger was poisoned and he's on the point of no return, "I'm sorry... We can't save him," I apologized,

"But still!" The adventurer wearing a warrior attire said and I simply ignored him as I pulled out the dagger from my chest. Which shocked Fighter and Wizard, since they know what I'm about to do, "No wait! Maybe we could still-"

Before Fighter could continue her plea, I stabbed the wizard by his throat and ended his suffering. Causing Fighter and Wizard to look away from me, As for the young adventurer. He watched as he witnessed me killing one of his friends in front of him. He gritted his teeth and looked away with a few tears falling down his face.

Once I pulled my dagger out from the wizard's throat, I turned away from the body since I couldn't handle the deaths of rookie adventurers. I glanced at the adventurer wearing a priest attire and went towards him. Then I put two fingers on his neck for a pulse, Luckily for him, He's alive but just unconscious

"Looks like we're only able to save two... I really sorry that we could be here on time," I said while apologizing again without looking to the Rookie Warrior

"But you didn't have to kill him! If we were to bring him back to the village, We would have-" Before he could finish on what he was about to say, I cut him off by saying "Prolonged his suffering until he died?"

This made the Rookie Warrior was silenced and widen his eyes in shock. Then I continued "Look, I understand how you feel when it comes to losing a member of your party. But in this kind of scenario, The best option is to get over it and move on... Just be grateful that you're still alive,"

The Rookie Warrior simply sobbed at his loss while Fighter tended to him, Wizard then approached me from behind and noticed on how I feel about ending the suffering of other adventurers. She felt somewhat concerned about my actions, But before she could think of anything to ease my problems. I stood up straight and turned to Fighter and Wizard.

"Fighter, You and Wizard will come with me and take care of those goblins." I ordered, then I turned to the Rookie Warrior "As for you, Go pick up your friend and get to the village for some momentary rest. We'll take care of things from now on,"

"Alright..." The Rookie Warrior said as he went to the unconscious Rookie Priest and carried him on his back. Before he left, He whispered something in my ears then went back to the river village while My party and I set off to slay some goblins.

When we got near the cave, We all crouched down behind some of the bushes and I signaled Alpha to head towards the Goblin Cave. A few moments later, We heard a few angry barks and a few goblins screaming. When Alpha came out of the cave, I couldn't help but feel a bit disgusted when Alpha was covered with Goblin's Blood. As he got close to us, He began to shake off the blood from his fur. Which made it worse for me and my party as we got wet by the Goblin Blood on his fur

"Hey, Stop that! Ugh, I just washed this shirt!" I yelled and Alpha simply sat down and stared at me

"Geez... This is so disgusting," Wizard commented while she tried to remove some of the blood from her robes.

"I think I'm gonna hurl a bit," Fighter commented, feeling a bit sick on the scent of Goblin's blood. I couldn't help but feel the same as Fighter, But I suddenly remembered that Goblin Slayer uses the blood as a way to hide the scent of women or children since Goblins have a keen sense of smell. "Wait, Don't rub it off just yet,"

"Why?" Wizard asked with hints of disgust while she saw me pulling out a rag and started rubbing off the blood from Alpha's fur

"We could use this to our advantage," I said after gathering enough blood and approached Wizard in which she backs away from me "Get that stuff away from me!"

"It's either this or you getting caught by goblins again," I said, this made Wizard feel growl a bit and turned to Fighter for help. But sadly, The latter shook her head as Wolf Tamer closes in on her.

Short Timeskip (Brought to you by Wolf Tamer chasing after Wizard while Fighter and Alpha watched as the two continued.)

Once I covered Fighter and Wizard with goblin blood. We entered the cave with me and Alpha on the front, Wizard in the middle, and Fighter in the rear.

Wizard was still complaining in disgust about being covered by goblin blood or guts, Fighter simply ignored her ranting, and as for me. I just focused on what's ahead of me as we head down the tunnel.

Then we saw what looks like a totem and stopped our movements upon seeing the totem.

"Looks like we'll be dealing with a goblin shaman in this cave," I said and the girls behind me looked with confusion

"Shaman?" Fighter asked and I explained, "They're Goblin Spellcasters that specializes in magic and act as leaders of the nest."

"How do you know?" Wizard asked, and I said "Goblin Slayer told me,"

Soon I moved my torch to the left and saw another tunnel just beside the totem "It's like that scenario all over again,"

"What do you mean?" Fighter asked,

"I mean, It's almost like the same cave as the last one. You better keep your guard up," I said and I threw my torch towards the right tunnel. We waited, then a goblin comes out and I pulled out a handheld crossbow and shot the goblin straight into its forehead.

Once the goblin fell on the ground with a thud, Alpha began to growl and I didn't like this at all "Here they come!"

Wizard readied her staff and Fighter made her fighting stance. Soon a couple of goblins charged towards us and the first few lunged towards me with their weapons. But sadly for them, I avoided their attacks and sliced their heads off of their shoulders while Alpha takes down a few of them.

Some of the goblins went towards Wizard and she took down a few of them with her magic spells. But she was soon pinned down to the ground by some of the goblins, which made her drop her staff. But without hesitation, She grabs her dagger strapped around her waist and used it to cut down the goblins trying to rip her clothes off. After that, She grabs her staff and stood up straight with her staff being used a cane

"Are you alright?" I asked and she nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine,"

Some of the goblins went after Fighter, but with calm composure, she kicks down and even punches a few goblins straight into the wall and boy, it somehow managed to break a few goblin skulls and bones. Send a few shivers down my spine a little,

"Note to self, Never piss her off," I said in my thoughts while I gulped a little,

But that was just the least of our concerns when suddenly, a hobgoblin shows up and was charging straight towards us

"Looks like we got ourselves a hobgoblin," I said as, I put away my daggers, rolled up my sleeves and cracked my knuckles as I waited for it to get close to me,

Once the hobgoblin was close to us, It tried to deliver a strong punch towards me and I stood there with a smirk on my face. Once he delivers a punch towards me, Fighter and Wizard gasped in shock when the hobgoblin landed a hit on me.

They tried to attack it, but I suddenly called out to them, "Don't come any closer!"

When they heard my voice, they soon became surprised when the hobgoblin's punch was stopped by my own hand. Even the hobgoblin was surprised upon seeing me block the hobgoblin's attack, it tried to punch me with its other fist. But I stopped it as well with my other hand holding its fist back

Then it tried to push me back, but he couldn't even make me move a single step back as it pushes me with all its might. This made me smirk at hobgoblin's futile attempt to force me back

"My turn," I said, and started pushing the hobgoblin back and I somehow managed to make it tumble down on the ground as it couldn't keep its balance anymore. I soon grabbed the dagger from my chest and stabs its head straight through its skull and plunged it deeper to ensure the hobgoblin stays dead. Once that was done, I pulled the dagger out and started panting for a bit.

But I stopped when I turned to Fighter and Wizard and took notice of their surprised looks. Which kinda made me a bit confused on their reactions "What?"

"H-how in the world... Did you... do that?" Wizard asked in surprise, and I made a nervous chuckle at that, "Well... I kinda used magic to enhance my strength,"

"You can use magic?" Fighter asked, curiously "How?"

"Before I became an Adventurer, I had to do some training and basically. My teacher taught me how to use magic based on wolfs and so, what I did against the hobgoblin is an enhancement called Wolf Strength, an ability to enhance my strength ten fold out of a normal human," I explained,

"So... you basically use this when you're against stronger monsters?" Wizard concluded and I nodded "Yep, although even without this ability. I could still hold the hobgoblin back in a few inches,"

"Just how strong is this guy?!" Fighter and Wizard asked in their thoughts, while I continued to walk towards the side tunnel with Fighter and Wizard catching up to me,

Soon, we saw the entrance to the nest and it was too dark to go through, "Wizard, do you have any magic spells that would allow us to see in the dark?"

"Well, All I have is Light," She answered,

"Then use that," I ordered and she nodded as she began to chant the spells

"Get ready," I said to Fighter and Alpha, with my handheld crossbow at the ready

When Wizard released the sleep, A magic orb of light went inside the tunnel while Fighter, Alpha, and I charged our way towards the goblins.

I soon spotted the Shaman and shot it down with my crossbow. While Fighter and Alpha disposed of the remaining goblins.

A few moments have passed and all of the goblins were taken care of, I called Wizard down after the nest was cleared out and she was completely disgusted when she saw the women that were kidnapped and raped by the goblins.

I went towards the Shaman and stepped on the bolt to ensure the shaman stays dead and we noticed a throne made out of bones.

"What's that?" Fighter asked while looking at the throne, and I answered "It's just an excuse they made up to hide something,"

When I broke the throne with a single kick, I discovered a small door and I opened it. And inside a small room, were a few goblin children. Trembling in fear,

"Aren't those..." Fighter mentioned and I nodded my head to her, "They're goblin children, born from the women that were raped by them. If we were to leave them like this, It'll become a problem later,"

"Are you going to kill them too?" Wizard asked, and I answered "Yeah, but I won't be the one to do it,"

Alpha started growling at the children and this gave Fighter and Wizard a realization of what I mentioned to them. Normally, they would object to my idea of killing the goblin children. But those things were born from women raped by these things, so they decided not to interfere whatsoever.

I leaned my head towards Alpha and gave him a single command "No mercy,"

Once he said those words, Alpha goes into the small cave and ravages the goblin children. We all heard them crying out as Alpha killed them and we all decided to ignore them as it goes on for several moments,

Once those cries have died down, Alpha goes out of the small cave and sat down in front of me. Which I started patting his head a few times "Good job, boy"

Then I turned to the traumatized woman on the ground and ordered "Come on, let's get these girls some fresh air,"

Fighter and Wizard nodded their heads to me and we began to carry the women outside the cave. I also sent Alpha to deliver a message to the village chieftain and sent someone to pick these girls up.

After that, we went to the remaining two rookies and told them everything about the goblins. They thanked us for it and we all decided to head back to the guild by riding a carriage, but there was one thing on Wizard's mind while we're on our way back to the guild

"Wolf Tamer, I have a question for you," Wizard asked and I turned to her "What is it?"

"What did he say to you when we were about to take out a goblin nest," She asked and I told her

—Flashback—

As the rookie adventurer passed us, he whispered to my ear "Make them pay for what they did,"

— End of Flashback —

"That's what he told me," I said and she nodded her head to me, "I see..."

Today was another day for us adventurers. There are times we succeed, and there are times we failed. But it doesn't matter which of the outcome will happen, because the most important thing to remember than the outcome. Is either life... or death...

That's all for this chapter, and some of you might have noticed that the goblin cave in this chapter is almost similar to the prologue. Well let's just say that most caves either have a shaman or a hobgoblin or maybe a bit of both, but there will be caves that are filled with just regular goblin.
