Summary: Gru and Lucy go to Italy to kill a married couple who are holding a deadly virus. Meanwhile, Margo has a letter from a secret admirer. So, James, being the smart guy he is, helps her get prepare for the date.

At this time of the afternoon, James was in the kitchen cleaning the place, while wearing headphones, singing to himself while Dru was out somewhere.

James: For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then has naught.

Margo walked into the ecstatic. "James!" She yelled out only to see him singing.

James: To say the things-

"James." Margo asked.

James: He truly feels;

"Hello?"

James: And not the words of one who kneels.

"James!" Margo yells.

James: The record shows

"Earth to James!"

James: I took the blows - And did it My

James spun around to see Margo.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait what are you doing here?" James asked nervously throwing the headphone onto the desk.

"Oh not much. Just got a secret admirer." Margo said holding a letter.

"Oh cool What!" James yelled out.

"Yeah! Take a look." Margo said passing the letter.

James opened it only to realize that it was in Spanish. "What does this even say?" James asked.

Margo grabbed it. "Thought you knew. In a nutshell, this person wants to meet me at the mall by 6."

"You know your parents knew about this they probably wouldn't want you doing this. But since they're not here, I guess you can do it." James said.

"Really?"

"Yeah. You're only young for so long." James said.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Gru, disguised in a white buttoned shirt and dark blue cargo pants, was sitting by a bench reading a newspaper.

Then, Lucy, disguised in a black trench coat and a tan sunhat took a seat behind Gru, reading a different newspaper. "Run me down, what's our assignment?" Lucy asked.

"I thought you knew." Gru asked.

"Well I don't, so spill it."

"Okay then, because of our successful last mission, the AVL's assign us to assassinate the following. Silvio Caruso and Francesca De Santis."

"Isn't Silvio that rich crime guy and Santis is his trusted girlfriend in crime?"

"Exactly."

"Well, what I was told when I wondered when we were coming was that Silvio and Santis were making a super secret virus under their roof that can wipe out countries overnight, and the job was to destroy the virus." Lucy said.

"Well they told me to kill the two of them." Gru said.

"In that case let's do both."

"How?"

"I don't know. Here's the plan, we head around town to see if we can find any clues to get into Silvio's mansion, and then we can figure it out from there." Lucy said getting up.

"Alright." Gru said also getting up and the couple began to walk across town.

The two looked at an ice cream store, and one of Silvio's many known cars was there.

"Be back; I'll check if he's in there." Lucy said walking to the store.

Gru sighed and kept on going.

"Croco, get down here! You'll be late for you first day!" A lady yelled.

Gru turned to see a woman wearing a chef's uniform.

"Alright relax I'll be down." He heard someone say from the patio.

Gru saw the lady's van, it was Silvio's signature logo.

He smiled. "Time to do something very Despicable." (He said the thing.)

Meanwhile with Lucy. "I will have a chocolate ice cream." She said.

"Okay." The lady behind the counter said before going to the back.

Lucy sighed and began to wait.

But then, for some reason, she felt something drip on her arm.

She looked to see rain dripping onto her clothes.

She looked up to see no water in sight.

She looked around to see everyone looking directly at her.

Lucy kept looking, but then the scenery completely changed. Now she was in a cemetery while it was pouring rain.

She began to question what was happening, more than before.

She began to walk through the cemetery out of curiosity.

Then, a green beam appear right in front of her.

She fell to the ground and she was suddenly back in the ice cream parlor.

She took a sigh of relief from that rather brief detour.

Gru knocked on the door while the lady's body was on the ground, knocked out. "Croco! Housekeeping!" He yelled out.

Croco opened the door right as Gru knocked him out.

Lucy exited the ice cream place ice creamless when Gru called her. She answered. "Hello?" Lucy asked holding her head.

"Lucy! See the apartment down the street."

"Yeah?"

"Well get here. 4th floor end of the hall." Gru said.

"Ok." Lucy said hanging up.

When Lucy got there, she saw the two knocked out bodies and Gru. "I've found these two kitchen assistants for Silvio. We can use their clothes to get in." Gru said in one of their uniforms.

"That's great. I'll just take it." Lucy said grabbing the lady and going into the bathroom.

Gru saw a key on Croco's desk and he took it. "Just in case." He said to himself.

Later on, Lucy and Gru, now wearing these kitchen uniforms, were roaming across the halls.

Lucy checked the corner. "Clear." Lucy said as the couple began to make their way down.

Gru saw an opened door. "Through here." He said going in.

Lucy and Gru checked the place, but Lucy saw a golf ball on the table.

She looked at it to see a blueprint entitled 'Explosive Golf Ball'.

Lucy grabbed it and put it in her pocket.

Gru and Lucy entered the patio to see the beautiful summer landscape in front of them.

Gru and Lucy began to make their way to Silvio's mansion.

Once they made it there, they made their way through the back, where Gru used the key he had.

Gru and Lucy entered the kitchen, where other chefs were working.

Gru saw a key card on the table and he stole it, never know when you need it.

"Blend in." Gru whispered going off to an older chef.

Lucy sighed, grabbed a towel and began to clean the table.

"How you doing old fella?" Gru asked.

"I'm fine. Say can you finish this tomato sauce? I don't know why but I can't seem to get it done. Maybe I'm jinked. When you're done, let me know." The chef said.

Gru chuckled. "Sure thing." The old man walked off. 'Preparing the target his dinner. What can go wrong?' He thought to himself. 'Oh look, Rat Poisoning don't mind if I do.' Gru said grabbing it and putting it in his pocket.

Gru grabbed a wooden spoon and got to spinning.

Meanwhile, James was back at home with Margo. "So, the first thing you do when you're on a date is to just be yourself, I think."

"Why you think?" Margo asked.

"Well I haven't really, been on a date. Then again I'm you best bet."

"How?"

"Do you trust Dru with Good dating advice?"

Margo remained silent.

"Good. Now the second thing is that you have to smell nice. Which is why, I have perfume." James said. "Now hold still." James said preparing Margo by a mirror and shaking the canister a bit.

"Are we sure we have to do this?" Margo asked.

"Hey it beats smelling like a skunk in a trash can." James said before spraying Margo's hand for a small bit.

A few minutes later.

Margo's hair got so puffy and huge James could probably have a baby pig rest in it.

James looked at a canister. "Only put in a small amount. Why not put that in the front?!" He yelled.

"I look like a Chimpanzee." Margo yelled.

"That doesn't make sense! Chimpanzees don't even have that much hair! More like a male lion's mane! I shouldn't have said that, you know, let's try an iron to straight it out. Take off the elastics." James said.

"They're already off." Margo said.

James plugged in an iron. "In that case...what's your favorite color?" James asked.

"I fail to see..." Margo went to say before James started doing it.

Just then, Edith entered the bathroom to see the puffed mess that was Margo's hair. James looked at her. "Just lock the door on you're way out." James asked.

Edith said nothing and locked it shut.

James sighed and got back to work.

...

Back in Italy, Lucy and Gru were outside of the mansion, and on a small golf field.

The two were hiding under a short bridge that led from the course to the patio. "Okay here's the plan *pulls out golf ball* see this?" Lucy asked.

"What is it?" Gru questioned.

"It's an explosive golf ball. If I can get that mixed with the other golf balls, and Silvio hits it with his club, he'll be sent sky high." Lucy said.

"Well then do it." Gru said.

Lucy got up and made her way to the other golf balls.

She dropped it in and made her way back to Gru. "And now, we wait." Lucy said as they made their way to a pack of bushes.

A few hours later.

"What is taking him so long?" Lucy said.

"I don't know, but I'm going out before we get caught." Gru said getting out of the bush and walking out.

Then, Silvio began to walk over to the course. "I have never been more excited for someone to play golf." Lucy said to no one.

Silvio grabbed a golf club and a golf ball and placed it down.

Silvio readied his club, pulled it back, and he hit the golf ball.

It was a normal everyday golf club.

"You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!" Lucy whispered yelled.

Gru walked out to the pool and sighed.

Then, his phone rang.

He grabbed it to see Dru.

He answered it. "Hello?" Gru said accidentally turning on the speaker.

"Hey Gru! What are you doing?!" Dru yelled.

Gru nearly dropped the phone in the water. "Be quiet." He whispered.

"Oh, you're on a secret mission? Got it bro, I'll hang up. Love you!" Dru hanged up.

Gru groaned and turned to see a guy in tan cargo pants, a green vested shirt, and wearing a tan golf hat, shocked.

Gru chuckled. "Brothers? Am I right?" Gru said.

Lucy was getting bored now, Silvio still hadn't hit the golf ball yet. And ir seemed like forever until he would hit the gol-

BOOM

Within a moment, an explosion took place, it was majestic as hell. Silvio flew into the air like a ragdoll and plopped back on the ground motionless.

Lucy cheered in happiness and jumped out of the bush and began to run off, screaming pretending to be horrified.

Once Lucy was out of sight, she saw Gru, wearing the same clothes the other dude was wearing.

"What are you wearing?" Lucy asked.

"Well you see, this guy discovered our mission, so I made have knocked him out and hid him in that tree." Gru said pointing to the tree.

"Do you know who that was?"

"Yeah, checked his phone and it is someone named Roberto Vargas. He seems to be Santis."

"How do you know that?"

"He has her as his wallpaper."

"Hm. Seems like we have an affair going on." Lucy said.

"Not the point. Point is we need to find Francesca and kill her. Come with me." Gru said walking off.

Lucy went to follow her, but then, she just stopped. She felt like she was utterly frozen in place and couldn't move. She really tried to, but couldn't for some reason.

Gru turned back. "Lucy?" He called out.

Then, Lucy plopped to the floor.

"You okay?" Gru asked.

"Yeah. Just froze for a moment." Lucy said before getting back up and walking out.

A short while later, they made it to an open window.

Gru and Lucy snuck their way into the room. "What is this place?" Lucy asked.

"I don't know." Gru said pulling out a knife.

They began to make their way through the place, sneaking by rooms.

They made it to a door. Lucy opened it and saw a dude walking to it.

Lucy screamed and punched the guy in the face.

Gru rushed in and closed the door only to see a computer room.

"What is this?" Gru asked Lucy.

They walked over to the computer and it was a computer that had knowledge on the virus.

Lucy saw a biolab keycard and swiped that away.

"Save it. We'll do more on this later." Lucy said before walking off.

Gru walked off.

As they kept exploring the place, they made their way to a bedroom.

"Hello?" Gru called out.

Lucy closed the door, then she saw a rose with a card on it.

"Look." Lucy said grabbing the card.

Gru saw the rose and grabbed it.

"This is to Roberto Vargas. Isn't that the guy who's clothes you're wearing?" Lucy asked.

"Whoops." Gru said.

"Well, I guess while we're here, let's set the mood. Turn on the sound system *turns it on*." Lucy said.

"Turn on the fake fire *turned on the tv*." Lucy did again.

"And poison the glass of champagne." Gru said doing it.

"Fantastic!" Lucy said.

...

James was now with Margo by the door. It had just hit sunset for them, and !argo was heading alone to the mall. "Remember, don't talk to anyone you don't know, be home by 10:15, don't do anything stupid, and if someone offers you anything, kapoot! No. Do you understand?" James said.

"Yes. And you promise to not spy on me?" Margo asked.

"I promise." James said.

2 minutes later.

"Why are you leaving?" Agnes asked.

"To spy on your sister." James said.

"Didn't you say you weren't going to do that?"

"I did. But I lied. One thing I've learned is that 12 year olds can do stupid things."

"But you promised her."

"Sometimes you have to break a promise for the better. I don't trust this admirer Margo has on her."

"Why not?"

"Gru and Lucy told me to avoid any bad looking boy the age of Margo, cause chances are they'll be too good looking, and looking for trouble."

"What makes you think it's whoever you think?"

"I just learned to speak Spanish, and it saids to meet her by that Mexican restaurant at the mall, know about that place?"

"Yeah! That was where the villain El Macho was. Margo once had a crush on his son." Agnes said.

"In that case, I might wanna hurry." James said before running off.

...

"I'm starting to think you've been stood up." Lucy said.

"What? Why?" Gru asked.

"Maybe it's the hat. It's gotta be." Lucy said.

Gru groaned and looked out the window to see her coming.

"She's here!" Gru yelled.

"In that case, I gotta hide." Lucy said going the bathroom.

Gru got comfy in the bed with the rose in his mouth.

Santis opened the door. "Hello darling!" Gru yelled.

BOOM

An explosion took place by the door as Santis died.

Gru looked off in shock. Lucy slowly opened the door. "Oh yeah I forgot I put that there." Lucy chuckled.

Gru rushed into the bathroom and they both jumped out the window.

They both ran into an alleyway and catched their breath. "Okay, now we enter Phase 2; destroy the virus. I presume it's in the biolab. And I don't know where it is." Lucy said.

"Well we might want to hurry, they could use it right now if they wanted to." Gru said.

"Wait! It could be at the back of the mansion, maybe there's a secret area there." Lucy said.

"Well then let's go." Gru said walking off.

The two made it there and the two were back in their normal clothes to stop anyone from noticing them immediately.

Lucy swiped the keycard and the door opened, revealing a dark cave with a dim light.

The two walked through, with the door closing behind them. "Not creepy at all." Lucy whispered pulling out her flamethrower and Gru pulled out his freeze ray and they walked down the cave.

As they were walking down, they ran into a lady with a lab coat and a dude with a security uniform.

"Oh, hey person with gun. I have a gun too. Well it's more of a FREEZE RAY!" Gru said freezing the two of them.

"We need their uniforms!" Lucy yelled unfreezing them, but they were knocked out.

"Oops." Gru said.

Lucy now disguised as a scientist, and Gru disguised as a guard made their way to the main room. In front of them was a lab where shipping containers were going around, there was a dock with an airplane, and scientists walking around.

"Oh, this is some Bond shit going down." Lucy said.

"Okay, I'm going to need a lab suit *passes a pistol to Lucy* take this. I'll get one." Gru said seeing a male scientist come up the stairs.

"Perfect." He said.

...

James hid in a bush, wearing camouflage with binoculars.

"Come on where are you?" James asked looking at the Mexican restaurant.

Margo was waiting for this guy when he saw a leather jacket, black hair, jean wearing dork but at the same time cool looking kid about her age walk towards her.

Margo groaned. "Are you serious?" She said, knowing who this admirer was now.

James listened in to the conversation. "Margo! Long time no see." The boy said.

"Well well well, looks like we have a match boys." James said, realizing who this was.

"Antonio." James said.

...

Gru and Lucy walked through the science lab, trying to find the virus.

It was only when they ran into a closet of biohazard suits that lead into another room where they had an idea

"I think this is our next destination." Lucy said grabbing one from the rackets and putting it on.

Gru grabbed one too and putted it on.

Once they were both ready, the circular doors opened automatically and the two slowly walked in, ready to stop this.

They walked through the tube, which was wrapped all around.

Another door opened and they walked through it. They were then sprayed by something as another door opened, revealing a room puffed with putrid green smoke.

They looked around the place to see other scientists walking around a big container holding a small red vile of something.

"There it is." Gru said.

"Now, we just need privacy." Lucy said as Gru pulled out a gun and shooting the other people in the room.

Lucy went to the computer as Gru went as guard.

"All I need to do is increase the temperature, then we're home free." Lucy said beginning to do so.

When she did it, an alarm began to blare around the virus as the fans stopped moving.

"Yeah! We did it!" Lucy yelled.

"But now we have to get out of here." Gru said before the couple ran out.

...

"No Antonio! I won't take you back!" She yelled.

"Please Margo! I'll do anything!"

"I said no!" Margo yelled again.

Antonis grabbed Margo's wrist and crushed it. "What do I have to do? Are you with someone else?!"

"No I'm not." Margo said.

"Don't lie to me!"

"She ain't lying." James said appearing out of his spot.

"James!" Margo yelled out.

"Don't complain Margie, I'm about to save yourself." James said.

"So you know alive grass over here."

"Wow you're so funny." James said. "Oh and also, my gut is telling me that you're the son of one El Macho, so I'll take you in so we can make sure you haven't done anything." James said.

Antonio pulled out a vile a purple substance. "Oh we'll see about that." He then drank it whole.

Margo gasped. James gasped. "What the hell's a bunch of grape juice gonna do?" He asked.

Antonio then turned into a purple furred beast.

"That!" Margo yelled.

"Oh." James sighed.

Antonio charged at James and James jumped off the balcony onto the first floor.

Antonio landed in the fountain, making a huge splash.

James summoned a red cape.

Antonio got up and looked at James.

"Bonjour Antonio. Bring it on!" James said waggling the cape.

Antonio charged at him, but James dodged with ease.

James jumped onto his back and Antonio ran around like a wild animal.

James grabbed a street pole and whacked it at Antonio, but that resulting in James falling down onto the ground.

James got up and threw the lamp at Antonio before slipping on the water.

Antonio went to crush him like a potato before James flew out of the way.

"Screw it!" James said pulling out a sedative and lunging at Antonio.

Antonio slapped him away and James crashed into a wig store.

He coughed up a bit before he saw the big purple beast about to charge at him.

Then, it just dropped to the ground, knocked out, with the sedative by it's hip.

He looked to see Margo. "On second thought, thanks for spying on me." Margo said.

"Never thought I hear a girl say that to me but okay." James said.

...

Gru and Lucy ran to the small plane and both got in it.

Lucy got Gru's gun and started shooting the people at them.

Gru started up the plane with the exact key he grabbed eariler.

Gru drove the place down the dock, but then, it began to fly up in the air and take off.

Gru and Lucy cheered in happiness and they shared an embraced kiss.

Once they let go, they began to make way for their next assignment.
