Kazuma 'woke up' in a street. Cobblestone paths that were worn by both wandering feet and rain. Brick houses with clay tiles fir roofs littered the streets and people walked the streets and paid him no mind, but yet, something was odd- unnatural even. He could see every small insect that flew in the air and every crevice in the brickwork. He could hear a slight noise in his head and he could confirm he was the only one who could hear it.
The hikikomori briefly wondered how this came to be before memories of Aqua and his sudden demise leaked into his mind. He sighed, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment, as if he couldn't believe he forgot about it, but there was something more within his mind. A pool of information that wasn't there before his reincarnation. This small pool of information housed the abilities of his mongekyou.
In his left eye was Kamui, this particular ability allowed him to have his very own dimension, something that reminded Kazuma of a personal inventory. This particular ability allowed him to teleport to pretty much anywhere he pleased. He could also become intangible and 'suck up' other people or weapons within his dimension. Kamui was a very versatile ability indeed!
In his right eye was Amaterasu, giving him the ability to cast black flames in the focal point of his vision. They were almost impossible to dodge and will burn anything for seven days and seven nights. No amount of water could extinguish it and only his command will put it out. Although not as versatile as Kamui, it would be a useful offensive attack that may save his life. His right eye also contained the ability Susanoo, this allowed Kazuma to summoned a humanoid being which fought and protected on his behalf. The perfect mix of offence and defence!
Kazuma couldn't help but smirk, as he possessed several abilities which were both versatile as they were powerful. Of course, they would normally drain the life out of his eyes the more he used them and he would eventually loose his 'light' (becoming blind)- as the fictional character, Itachi, had explained once before. Although the young man had asked for the eternal mongekyou sharingan. Meaning that his eyes are eternal, so they would never loose their 'light'.
Kazuma smiled a real smile for the first time in months and he took an eager step forward. Ready to start life in another world, but his perception of reality slowed to a standstill, as if everyone was moving in molasses. He miscalculated his footwork and lost his balance, moving his hands to stop himself from face planting towards the floor. It wasn't the best moment in his young life, but once he was on two feet once more, he looked into the window of a store that was beside him and saw a mature sharingan, three tomoes spinning slowly.
Aren't I meant to start off with a single one? That was what normally happened when one awakened the sharingan, he pondered. As when someone apart of the Uchiha Clan awakened their bloodline, they would only have one tomoe and in rare cases, they luck possess two tomoes in one eye. This allowed the user to get use to their newly acquired perception of reality over time while their body adapted to it. However, his eyes skipped the first two steps and advanced to become mature. After a minute of pondering, Kazuma finally came to the conclusion Aqua must have given him three tomoes, as when most characters unlocked the mongekyou, they would have three tomoes,
The hikikomori nodded sagely to himself as he cautiously took a step forward, not wanting a repeat of what happened previously. Fortunately, he had seemed to have gained the necessary experience with the sharingan to walk properly. The hikikomori felt a little weaker than he had been beforehand and may very soon collapse in exhaustion. Considering this, Kazuma had begun a mental debate whether to maintain the sharingan or not. On one hand, he could gain the necessary experience to use his bloodline in battle, but on the other, he would be too weak to use it and wouldn't be able to gain money.
Kazuma almost immediately decided that experience wasn't worth the risk of sleeping in the streets just yet and wisely deactivated. He wandered the massive town and talked to several people to learn more about the town. He was located in Axel, a village for beginner adventurers located in Belzerg. As he wandered, the hikikomori realised that the streets were rather crowded, as a market was located near the square of the town. People exchanged goods for silver coins, the currency of the world he had been reincarnated in. He wandered for ten minutes before he asked for directions to the guildhall, where he could become an adventurer. The people he asked looked at him like he was stupid, but his weird clothing told them that he was foreign and they were friendly enough,
The directions were easy to follow and he found the guildhall with ease, you couldn't really miss it. The building was made out of stone and twice as big as any other building, the roof made out of orange clay tiles and the doors big enough for an eight foot tall man to enter with room to spare. Kazuma couldn't help but stand still in absolute awe, it looked more like a fortress than a fantasy community hall.
Kazuma shook his head and walked through the mammoth front doors, his senses were overloaded with loud noise, weird smells and lots of faces. They all looked at him, studied him. He swallowed his fear and passed experienced adventurers before stopping at the counter, where a yellow haired beauty stood. "Hello, my name is Luna. Do you wish to become an adventurer, sir?"
Kazuma nodded eagerly, already imagining what an awesome career it was. Luna smiled, clapping her hands together and tilted her head in a cute fashion, the hikikomori's eyes didn't miss the slight bounce of her breasts. "Excellent! That'll be one thousand eris, please!" Again, he nodded, although a bit more hesitant than before, while this happened, the guild woman made the devastating mistake of looking into his eyes. He had activated his sharingan for a split second and cast a simple genjutsu, based more on raw instinct rather than pure skill.
A genjutsu was an illusion that messed with all five senses, meaning that if one didn't know that they were under a genjutsu, then it would near impossible to break out of. His sharingan casts simple genjutsu when an opponent looks into the Sharingan. With training, he could cast more complex genjutsu. Which would be incredibly useful in battle. The illusion that Kazuma's place in Luna's mind was him handing over a thousand eris. Mostly relying on the blondes understanding of the currency. The woman didn't suspect a thing and smiled once more in response, satisfied with the transaction. Her thin arms reached for something that rested under the counter.
She pulled out a blank card.
"This is an adventurer card," She pointed to the card with her perfect index finger, her expression serious "This card is vital for any journey, as it worlds as an ID for all purchases and entry to all major cities. It also works as a visual on levels, skills and stats." Nodding in understanding Kazuma couldn't help but smiled. "Just touch it with one hand and it will determine your stats." He didn't hesitate and responded to Luna instruction, his fingers touched the blank card and amazingly, it sent out blinding white rays of light. The young man could only think that this was true magic. The adventurer card stopping glowing after several seconds, seemingly losing its steam. It his physical stats written in a robotic text.
Kazuma Sato| - LV 1
Strength- 12
Vitality- 13
Agility- 11
Dexterity- 44(+30)
Endurance- 9
Intelligence- 32
Wisdom- 36
Luck- 500(MAX)
Rank- D
Luna smiled widely as she exclaimed her thoughts "Wow~ your luck stat is off the charts, although that stat is only useful if one wishes to become a merchant." Frowning at her response, Kazuma could only look at the luck stat with a perplexed look. Luck could essentially make life your bitch, so why would having it maxed be almost useless to an adventurer? "You wisdom, intelligence and dexterity is above average, although your strength and agility is a bit lacklustre in comparison. But do not fear, as most stats 'level up' after a set amount of physical workout or battles.
"You can select a couple classes- the basic classes, adventurer, which can copy any basic skill through purchasing it with skill points. The magical class, mage, allows you to learn basic attack spells. The final one is the healing class, priest, a useful class that allows you to heal others. Which one would you like?" Luna smiled as she finished and Kazuma's automatically picked the mage class- he had the sharingan, so he could copy any skill he saw, there was no need to be an 'adventurer' .
After he choose his class, the guild woman delved deeper into the quest system and the rewards for a successfully completed quest and the results of a failed quest, even explaining skill points to him. Using the momentum she had gained in the conversation, she had managed to make him accept a beginner's quest- a 'slaying quest' to be exact.
That was how he found himself in a green field, being chased by five large, green and yellow toad. Their main (and only) source of attack was lunging into the air and smashing the opponent into a literal pancake with the acceleration they had gained from the drop- they would of course 'gobble up' their prey afterwards. Using his eyes, he had analysed their movements and dodged every strike as a near miss. He had even copied a skill called flop- it wasbasically a useless skill unless he was in the air already.
Kazuma still lacked the speed to move out of the within a split second, his body was barely keeping up with the visual output. As he moved, the young man felt his mana reserves being sucked constantly by the sharingan, like a child drinking a massive milkshake. There was no endless supply, only a limited amount to go around, He still had plenty left- after all, he had more mana than any other beginner adventurers- most likely given to him by the goddess, Aqua, so he could actually use the sharingan in combat.
Willing more mana into his red orbs, his red orbs took a pinwheel shape with a six point star, he had seen it earlier and knew it resembled Sasuke's own eternal mongekyou sharingan. His right eye cried blood, the almost searing pain made him cringe. The pain was short lived as black flames erupted across the battlefield.
The black flames stretched so wide that it would be impossible to dodge if the opponent wasn't already moving at extreme speeds. The green and yellow toads stood no chance, their slow and predictable fighting style were no match when compared to the flames of hell. They were immediately engulfed into the fire and became less than ash, they simply stopped existing, the flames incinerating the toads completely.
The hikikomori stared in awe as he willed the flames to die down, this was the power of Amaterasu. Allowing a small smirk of satisfaction take place upon his lips, allowing himself to bask in the power of the mongekyou. Although the satisfaction was short lived, as Kazuma dropped to his knees an instant later, clutching his head as his vision was blurred and his brain felt incredibly light. Realising that his mana reserves was almost completely sucked dry, save only a few specks left in the once decent sized pool. His sharingan swirled back to the tree tomoes before it automatically deactivated- his normal brown eyes returning.
He felt an acidic, gross pain slowly rise up his throat like a bad chemical reaction. A second later, he gagged, releasing his stomachs contents (which wasn't all that much to begin with) and fell deeper on his knees, his own weight feeling impossible to hold up against gravities force. Kazuma, using what was left of his crushed concentration, assessed that this was 'mana exhaustion', well, maybe to a lesser effect (since his mana reserves weren't fully depleted yet). If this was what the lesser side of mana exhaustion was like, he didn't want to know what true mana exhaustion was. Worst case scenario, he'll die. Looking at his card, he saw that his level increased by two.
He was level three and all his basic stats had increased as well, he even felt a small sense of pride and satisfaction as he saw this- although the satisfaction was dwindled to almost nothing when he vomited his guts out once more. Oh, how I hated mana exhaustion!
It took Kazuma ten minutes to became half-decent and able to walk without falling, although the lightness of his head didn't fade. Originally, it took him only fifteen minutes to get to the field where the toads were, but in his current condition, it took him a little over an hour to return back to Axel. Most people avoided the young adventurer, giving him weird side glances and short whispers- he knew he looked like bad, his clothes were sweaty, his hair a mess and the remnants of blood trail across his right cheek. He learnt that no amount of rubbing with a finger would be get rid of it.
He entered the guild once more, slowly walking towards the counter, it seemed Luna was on her lunch break. In her place was a young woman, brown hair that was stylised into a creative ponytail, her grey eyes would melt the hearts of most battle hardened warriors. Although Kazuma was a different case- he didn't care, he just wanted to lay down and rest.
"How may I he-" the young man handed her his card cutting off her greeting before he pointed at the quest board at the slaying quest he had taken in a rude manner. "Umm," the woman stared at him oddly, most likely taken offence to the certain action before shaking her head, probably thinking that his life affairs were not of her business. She processed the card, nodding her head in satisfaction as she completed the checks. "It seems you slain five Hop Toads," reaching under the counter, the guild woman pulled out a small bag full of coins "As the slaying quest details describe, this is your reward, fifty thousand eris."
The young man noted that his mana supply seemed to have been refilled on his long walk to Axel and it felt bigger than the last time. He calmly assessed that his mana supply must have increased when he had levelled up. "Have a nice da-" once more, her sentence was cut off, instead of a rude action like most would expect, it was most likely caused by awe and confusion.
Kazuma had activated his sharingan, the tree tomoes swirling into the eternal mongekyou in a beautiful fashion. In an instant, he sent a massive wave of mana to his left eye and as a result, a searing pain that felt like his eye was being grill made him cringe, a trail of blood followed swiftly. A small portal that was no different to a whirlpool had begun to suck the small bag. Seconds later, the bag stopped existing within this dimension.
This was one of the many effects of his left eye, the ability Kamui. Surprisingly, it cost little to no mana, as all the excess mana returned to his supply, although he hardly expected it to be as costly as Amaterasu. I also seemed that every level, his mana reserves would increase dramatically. He turned away from the guild woman giving her a kind but quick wave as a silent apology for his rudeness. He walked out the door, thinking nothing except for the distance future.
