Two years later...I update the story. I've done some growing the last couple years and see things from a different perspective which I hope I can incorporate into my future writing. I've also decided to use Grammarly in hopes to have as few mistakes as possible and have my stories flow easier.

Naruto stood speechless as Hinata nuzzled her face into his chest. Somehow, someway she had managed to find his home and had been waiting there for who knows how long. Sweat rolled down the back of his neck as his hands trembled and her grasp on him grew tighter. "I was just about to go home and try coming back again tomorrow." Hinata giggled as she let go and took a few steps back picking up the bottle. "Had a rough day?" She asked as she stood by the door and motioned him to come open it. Naruto reached into his pocket and took out his keys as he slowly walked over and unlocked the door. Hinata squealed as she hurried inside, ran into the kitchen looked for a glass to pour him a shot of vodka.

Naruto stared blankly at her as she made herself home. Is….she crazy? Did she follow me home this morning? Boyfriend? Is that what she thinks we are? It was just a hookup! He felt his stomach do a flip as he thought that. He was never a fan of one night stands and always thought of them as dirty. "Say…Hinata, not to be rude or anything but…what are you doing here? Better yet, how did you find out where I live?" He said as he finally stepped inside, locked the door behind him and walked over to the kitchen counter standing opposite side of Hinata. "I am just really confused about all this."

Hinata handed him a half-filled glass. "I missed you so much I had to come see you." She smiled innocently, her head slightly tilted to the left and a light blush streaked across her cheeks. "I had f-fun last night…" she looked away from him down at the sink, her blush grown more noticeable "and I really liked talking with you. I haven't warmed up to anyone that fast ever in my life." She dropped her hands down in front of her as she began fiddling with her fingers. "I felt like I had to s-see you."

Naruto gulped as he felt his face heat up. She's so adorable. He looked down at his cup and sighed. He got up to his cabinet and took out two shot glasses and evenly poured the vodka from the glass into them. "They can be a little hard to see." He chuckled as he offered Hinata her shot; she took it and gave a weak smile. "Bottoms up!" He smirked as he took the shot and gave a raspy gasp. "I always forget how much it burns." He looked over and noticed Hinata fidgeting with the shot glass. "What's the matter? Not your brand?" He opened the door to his pantry and looked around inside. "I have other stuff too."

Hinata moaned and put the glass down on the counter. "I-It's not that…I'm…" She bit her lip and turned away from Naruto. "I'm not old enough to drink yet…I'm only seventeen." She heard the pantry door slam shut. She winced when she heard Naruto give another raspy gasp. She timidly turned around and saw Naruto staring at the bottle of vodka.

Naruto let out another sigh and took two back to back shots. He walked over to his couch sat down, slouched forward. What is happening to me? He thought as he rubbed his eyes. He felt Hinata's armrest on his shoulder. "Is everything ok?" Naruto let out a groan as he dragged his hand down his face. "You're seventeen…" Naruto groaned "do you know how old I am?"

"Nineteen?" Hinata asked, sounding unsure.

Naruto rolled his eyes and covered his face once again. "I just offered you a drink, how can I be nineteen?" He looked over at Hinata, as he felt her hand begin to tremble. "I'm twenty-two, which means I'll be in trouble for what happened last night!"

"I won't tell anyone!" Hinata exclaimed as she leaned over to him and grabbed his arm. "Plus I turn 18 next week so it's not that big a deal!" She whimpered. "That still doesn't change the fact that it did happen." Naruto moaned beginning to grow irritated at the situation.

"No one will find out! You have my word!" She gripped his arm tighter. "You said that we aren't boyfriend and girlfriend but we can at least be friends!"

Naruto stared at her for a moment. Maybe it was the alcohol already hitting him, but he felt like he could trust her. Naruto turned in his seat brushing her arm off him "That explains that," Naruto crossed his arms "now, how did you find my apartment? Did you follow me when I left your place?"

"No! I didn't do that at all, I don't even have a car…" She cowered. "When you fell asleep last night, I checked the address on your license." She took a folded piece of paper from her pocket. "I wrote it down and had to catch three busses to get here." She stared at the paper. "I figured my new b-boyfriend would want to see me." She half-smiled.

"Let me stop you right there." Naruto cut her off. "I'm not your boyfriend, all last night was…was a one night stand." He walked over to his counter and took the shot that he had poured Hinata. "I feel bad for doing that but that's all it was meant to be. I'll admit that I did enjoy last night and I was even thinking of you earlier today at work…" He turned his head to her "what you just did is a crazy, almost stalker thing to do. It's best if you just leave." He said as he stared at the out the window and pointed to the door.

"I'm not a s-stalker!" Hinata gasped as she covered her mouth. "I'm sorry, I thought it was something you would find c-cute…" She whimpered. "My ex and I would do this all the time. "I'm sorry…I enjoyed meeting you and spending time with you last night." She tilted her head up, her eyes tearing up.

Naruto rolled his eyes and grit his teeth. Even though I kind of wanted to meet her again, I did not want it to be like this. He looked down at his bottle and stored it in the pantry. "You should know that this isn't normal behavior in an actual relationship." He made his way past her and to the door. "I think you should just leave, I'd drive you myself but I'm already feeling light-headed from the shots I pounded."

Hinata nibbled on her lip as she slowly walked to the door. "My parents aren't in town so I can't call them…and none of my friends have cars." She stopped just in front of the door and picked up her backpack. "I'd only have time to catch one bus back home and I'd have to walk the rest of the way. It's not in the safest part of town by that time." She stared at Naruto as he began tapping his foot and finally shut the door and locked it. "You can stay here, but just for tonight." He said as he once again walked past her and walked towards his bedroom. Hinata knew this whole situation was turning out for the worse the more it went on. "I'll…I'll sleep on the couch." She said as she walked over to it and began rearranging the cushions.

Naruto came back out of his room and threw a blanket and pillow on top of it. "I'll sleep out here." He said as he picked up her bag and put it in his room beside his bed. "You can sleep in here." He said solemnly as he dialed a number on his phone as he went back out once again to the bathroom.

Hinata stood at the doorway looking into his room for a moment before finally stepping in. She took off her jacket and examined the room. It was a very plain room with not many decorations or ornaments except for a poster of a band she had never heard of, hanging on the wall at the head of the bed.

Off in the back corner was a desk with a computer set up. Off the right of the door were his dresser and mirror and not much else. She sat cross-legged at the center of the bed and looked back to his nightstand and noticed a picture frame face down, when she picked it up she saw it was a picture of Naruto smiling at the camera with a pink-haired girl kissing his cheek. She picked up and stared at it for a bit before Naruto came back into the room. "You mentioned that you were waiting for a while so I ordered us a pizza it should be here" He cut himself off as when he noticed Hinata holding his frame. "Please don't go snooping around while you're in here." He muttered as he snatched the frame from her and put it face down in a drawer. "I'm sorry, it just caught my eye…is that your girlfriend?" She asked.

"Ex, and I don't want to talk about it." He said as he put some money on his dresser. "That's enough for the pizza and tip. I've had a long day with barely any sleep so I'm gonna crash. If you want to watch tv or something go ahead. We'll figure out this situation in the morning." Naruto yelled from the living room. Within a few minutes, he was asleep and a light snoring could be heard.

As Hinata sat alone in the room, she brought her knees up to her chest and buried her face into her legs. "Looking back on all of this, it was such a stupid idea." She whispered to herself as she sighed and fell to her side in the fetal position in the middle of the bed. "This is probably the reason he left you." She squeezed her legs closer to her as she closed her eyes.

...

The smell of eggs and bacon filled the apartment waking Naruto up. He sat up from the couch wiping drool away from his lip. "Whuh? He sniffed the air confused and trying to process what he smelled. He looked over to the dining table where he saw Hinata setting up breakfast. "Oh right." He said as he rubbed his eyes and stood up.

"G-Good morning…" Hinata timidly said "I'm really sorry about yesterday. I don't know why I tho-thought…it was a good idea, so this is the least I can do to apologize for everything." She said as he walked to the fridge, took out orange juice and poured him a glass. "I made the eggs scrambled…I hope that's alright." She set the glass down by the plate and stood by the table. Naruto stared at her for a second before taking his seat without saying a word. He ate in silence and did not look up at her. "How…how is it?" She asked after a few minutes, still not taking a seat with him. "There's leftover pizza from last night if you don't like it." She looked over at the box on the counter.

Naruto pushed his chair back in place and looked up at her finally. "It's actually really good. I haven't had a home-cooked breakfast in a long time…thank you." He gave a half-smile. "Aren't you going to eat too?" Hinata nodded, fixed herself a plate and sat down across from Naruto. The two finished their meal in silence, with the scrape of the fork and the glass tapping on the table being the only noise in the apartment. When they finished Hinata grabbed the dishes and took them to the sink. As she turned the faucet on, Naruto gently pushed her aside and took over washing them. "I'll take care of it. I have a few things I have to take care of today, if you want you can wash up and I'll take you home after." He set the plates on the drying rack and started washing the glasses. "If you want to shower there are towels in one of my drawers."

Hinata simply walked away towards his room, came out with the towel and headed to the bathroom.

After Naruto finished the dishes he went to his room and jumped face-first into his bed. "Auughhh!" He yelled into his pillows. I was hoping last night was just a bad dream but nope! He sat up and realized that his bed was neatly made, with the covers being tucked into the bottom of the mattress. "She's really trying to make up for it." He turned around lay back down on the bed staring at the ceiling. "I can't even turn to anyone for advice." He laughed to himself as he covered his eyes. He heard the shower turn on in the room next door. "Just drop her off and pretend this whole thing never happened."

Naruto parked the car in front of her apartment and put the car in park. The whole car ride had been a quiet one, with neither one of them attempting conversation. "Well, here we are," Naruto said awkwardly as he hit unlock on his car "thanks again for breakfast…and for making the bed."

"You're welcome, I'm sorry about last night again," Hinata said as she grabbed her bag off the floor and opened the car door "I promise I won't even mention what we did…and I know you want nothing to do with me right now," She said as she stepped out the car and turned around. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper "I did like talking to you and I think you're a great guy. I'd like to meet up again…if you want." She held out the paper as Naruto slowly reached for it and took it. "I'm not expecting you to actually call me…but please consider it." She smiled as she gently closed the door and walked up the stairs to her apartment when she looked down at the parking lot, Naruto had already driven off. She felt her heart sink as she made her way inside.

Naruto sat across from Choji at a diner booth. They had just gotten off of work and felt like eating out. "What are your plans for the weekend?" Choji asked as he looked over the menu. "If you got nothing planned we can hit up a bar or something tonight."

Naruto shook his head. "No thanks, I think I'm gonna slow down on the drinking a bit." He said as he took a sip of his water. "As for this weekend, I'll probably just hit the gym and clean up the house." Naruto looked over the menu as well.

"C'mon man let's do something fun!" He groaned as he put the menu down. "We haven't gone out since the club three weeks ago where you-" He cut himself off and smirked. "Oh! I get it! You started talking to that girl you met haven't you?" He threw his hands in the air "Look at my boy moving on!" He noticed Naruto bury his face into the menu and he began tapping his fingers against it. "That ain't it…don't tell me you tried to call Sakura again." He cried out as he snatched the menu off his fingers.

"No…that's not it at all." He whispered, he looked around the diner and saw that they were the only ones there. He motioned his friend to get closer as he put his head down. "What I'm about to tell you, you can't ever repeat." He said as he stressed the 'ever'. Naruto took a deep breath and told everything that had happened with Hinata a few weeks prior. "And then she gave me her number to call her, which I'm not sure if I should." He took out his phone and stared at her blank text screen.

Choji cleared his throat before speaking. "Well, obviously I won't say anything to anyone…but man you fell into a hell of a situation." He laughed as he held his ribs and wiped a tear from his eyes. When he calmed down he saw the annoyed look across his friend's face. "Ok in all honesty though…if you've been thinking about it this long, part of you must like her." He rested his hands on the table. "Sure she did something that we consider stalker…but like you said she's seventeen. I'm sure you did some stupid things like that in high school and thought it was perfectly fine." Naruto locked his phone and put it away in his pocket. "I say just give her a shot. Who knows? She may just be the person to help you forget about you know who." As he finished the sentence, their waiter came over with their meals and placed them on the table.

Naruto walked into his apartment and dropped his bag right by the entrance. He began flipping light switches and turned the A/C on. A low humming began filling the silent apartment. Naruto sighed as he kicked off his shoes towards his room as he collapsed on his couch in front of his television. He grabbed his remote and flipped it on. As he flipped through the channels he thought about what Choji had said. Maybe I should give her a chance. She seemed genuinely sorry about what she did and she is just a kid…and eighteen now. "What the hell?" He took out his phone and sent her a text.

Hey it's Naruto….do eighteen year olds like coffee?

He hit send and tossed his phone to the far side of the couch. "Oh wait that sounded so creepy!" He cringed in his seat. "Whatever…what's done is done." He said as he turned his attention back to the television set. After about an hour, he was tapping his foot on the tile floor, anxiously waiting for a reply. He looked over at his phone to see if maybe he had his phone on silent, but it wasn't. He checked the time and saw it was almost eleven. He decided she was probably asleep, or doing some kind of homework. He yawned and decided to start getting ready for bed. As he was brushing his teeth he thought he heard his phone go off and left to check it. "I'm stwessing out over nufing" He scoffed as he went back and spit out the toothpaste and finished up his nightly routine.

Hinata stared at her phone for smiling as she thought of how to reply. She sat at the stairs just outside her apartment hoping the cool breeze would help her calm down. She had received the text hours ago and couldn't believe her eyes. Just say yes, he's asking you out! Hinata kept typing up a response and deleting it.

I love coffee!
Not everyone…
Yes!
Are you asking me ou-

Nothing she typed seemed like a good response. She buried her hands into her face and squealed. Just….say yes and ask when to meet up. She tapped away at her phone screen and hit send. She looked at the time, twelve-thirty. She figured he might be asleep and sat outside. "You're going to make this work." She smiled as she parted a strand of hair away from her eyes.

No promises when the next chapter will come up, as again, it took two years to write this one. But seeing as how we are in this pandemic quarantine...I may have more time to write. Let me know what you think. Hopefully, this was better than the last chapter
