You thought Puella Magi Madoka Magica was dark. With this anime, it is so misfortunate
It still continues to be mean-spirited and tries to be like Madoka Magica meets Higurashi or Elfen Lied in the modern day.
Wasted the voice talents of Nobuhiko Okamoto, who voiced Kaname is awful and still unconvincing if this anime shouldnt have been adapted, Ryusei Nakao, M.A.O., Mamiko Noto, Haruka Yamazaki, and the rest of Madoka Magica voice actresses whom did a wasteful job at their voice talents.
The Minor characters still are one dimensional from the manga.
The Voice acting for the villains (including Kaname and Aya's bullies) try to be nastier but this is just childish. Kaname's deranged voice looks so squeaky like an old lady trying to be as evil even though this is what the manga depicted him.
Poor grasp of the source material, the first episode looks nothing like the manga while the same was the worst and tries to be the cruelest anime ever existed. Whenever people watched it, it just treats us into a nasty sickening world where everyone is so boring or mad you just a llthinkeverything is happy.
It still has the same generic plot than the manga
The Animation is sub par, Just to only recreate these meanspirited scenes that are hard to watch. Some of their are too cruel and too evil protraying how they are acting.
Kaname Asagiri is still the same as his manga counterpart and far crueler and still unconvincing
Redeeming qualities:
Some of the funny moments are here
The character designs are good and are cute accept for t hemale characters
The animation can be decent. The animators did the best to omit scenes in order to tone i down from the manga
It was later declared to be non canon with an original happy ending
Some of the unnecessary yet nasty profanity found from the translations of Seven Seas Entertainment was omitted from the anime translation toning down the xenophobic nature of the series.
Trivia:
Do you know the anime's character designer is known for Dc Comics' Green Lantern Emerald Knights Movie.
