Chapter 1: Waking up to Something New

The sound of multiple voices awoke me from my slumber. I slowly sat up to only find myself lying on an uncomfortable bed in a jail cell.

"Where am I exactly?", I asked. Something felt off? Why am I in a prison cell? Where am I? How did I end up here?

"You ok in there?", a female voice asked me. I looked over to the bars to see who said that. What I saw was a bunny with anthropomorphic features. "Who are you?", I asked in astonishment.

"Judy, Judy Hopps.", She answered proudly.

She was slender, with gray fur, and a pink nose, purple eyes, blue police uniform, black vest, light gray knee pads, and a black utility belt.

"Um...I'm fine. Could you tell me, Where I am?", I politely asked still greatly puzzled by what I was seeing.

"Of course, but it return could you can answer some questions of mine?", She offered.

I nodded in agreement. Honestly at this point I have questions of my own, so whatever gives me the answers I need I'll do it.

She pulled out a key which I assumed was for the door and unlocked it. Once she opened it, she motioned me to follow her and I complied.

She led me into one of those interrogation rooms that were usually seen inside of police stations. Their was a table in the middle of the room with two chairs sitting on opposite sides of the table.

I seated myself in a chair right across from her. She set a pen shaped like a carrot on the center of the table. "What's the carrot pen for?", I asked.

"Don't worry this is just protocol just in case any new species show up in Zootopia.", She told me relieving me of my suspicions.

"Zootopia?", I thought.

"Ok first question.", She started. "What kind of animal are you?"

"Well I wouldn't call myself an animal, but my species is Human."

"How do you spell that?", She asked me.

"H-U-M-A-N.", I spelled out.

"Interesting, Are you a carnivore or a herbivore?"

"I am an Omnivore.", I stated. "I eat both plants and meat, but don't worry I have no interest in eating you."

"That's a relief.", She awkwardly chuckled.

"How old are you?", She question looking up at me.

"I'm twelve years old.", I answered.

"Where are you from?"

"I'm from Earth, but...hold on?", I paused for a minute thinking to myself. That Gem! Where is it? I immediately lifted up my blue shirt.

There it was just sitting there in my belly button glistening in the light. I'm just now remembering how it got there. "YOU!"

I clutched the top of the diamond trying to yank it out, but my results were the same. "Get out of there you little parasite!!!", I groaned to myself. I was so focused on trying to pry this thing free that I feel out of the chair I was seated in.

"Hey, What's going on?", Judy asked coming to my side putting a paw on my shoulder.

"Listen Judy, Hear me out. I think this...Gem sent me here.", I stated pointing at the rainbow tinted diamond embedded in my navel. "I think I'm in another dimension or world and this thing may be responsible for it."

"Why do you think that?"

"Well for one animals aren't capable of speech where I'm from.", I quickly brought up. "Plus didn't you say I'm a new species." Oh my god I am in another world. Mom's gonna be terrified to find out I'm missing.

I could feel adrenaline begin to build up in my system. I need to get out of here. I got to my feet and abruptly dashed out the exit of the room into a long hallway. "Ok! Just need to find an exit.", I told myself with determination.

Now I had entered a large lobby. There were many other animals in police uniforms that instantly stopped what they were doing watching me jog towards the entrance of the building to leave. "Wait! AARON!", I heard Judy call behind me.

Everything in my gut told me keep running. I burst right through the front doors. As I jogged animals that got a glipse of my presence screamed in fear and bolted trying to get away for me as quickly as possible.

Without thinking I ran into the street. "AARON LOOK OUT!!!", I turned to see Judy pointing at something. What she was pointing at was a police cruiser.

It was too late to move out the way then their was nothing, but darkness clouding my mind.

My eyes fluttered and I shook my head to find myself in a hospital. My clothes were nowhere to be found and the only thing I wore was a hospital gown. I noticed IV tubes had been puncured into my skin.

My right arm was placed into a cast resting carefully at my side. Many wounds and cuts ran up and down my arms and legs. "Please tell me everything before was just a dream.", I prayed.

My thoughts were interrupted as the door to the room I was settled in creaked opened. An otter wearing doctor's clothing peered through the door. "Are you ready for visitors?"

I guess this all wasn't a dream after all. I nervously responded with a single nod.

I calmed down upon seeing that it was only Judy. Getting a better look of her she looked like she had just got done crying. She was crying over me? She just met me today and she's crying like we've known each other our entire lives.

"Aaron! Thank goodness you're awake.", Judy said relieved coming to the right side of the hospital bed. "I thought you had died. The doctors said you would make a proper recovery. Why'd you run away?"

"I'm sorry, I panicked. It wasn't you I swear!", I pleaded trying to not make it feel like it was her fault. "I'm just really concerned about my mother. She must be looking for me right now. Anyways, What happened?"

"You got hit by a car.", She responded before placing a red hoodie and dark blue jeans. Not a bad attire. "You're clothes were bloody and ripped so I went and got you some new ones."

"Thanks."

"It seems your gonna be stuck here for a little bit.", Judy mentioned. I hate hospitals with a passion. The food sucks and you're stuck in a bed for god knows how long.

"I don't wanna be in here! Judy, Take me with you. I'd rather be with you than being in here.", I begged.

"I'm sorry you need rest and to heal."

A bright rainbow light was visible under the hospital gown I was wearing where the gem was. The sound of cracking and popping echoed throughout the room.

I watched in astonishment as my broken arm cracked back into place. I grunted in pain clutching my arm. The machine keeping track of my vitals beeped like crazy going haywire. Animal doctors burst into the room to see what was happening.

My cuts and wounds began closing up and sealing themselves. Was my body healing itself? How could this be? No...the gem was behind all of this.

After all that was said and done the gem stopped glowing. I looked up from what just happened to see everyone with shocked expressions including Judy who was taken back by what she just witnessed.

"Oh my gosh.", One of the doctors muttered. Do I have a healing factor now? Man, I feel like Wolverine.
